Now, take the original iris color and set the brush mode to 'Multiply.' The menu you want is right between the brush selector and the 'opacity' slider, at the top of the screen. With the brush in this mode, go over the iris at the edges, particularly the top edge, to add shading. Now, set your brush back to 'normal' and add a pupil in black. can someone refrase this

Ah, then you should have it. But "Multiply" isn't a tool - it's a blending mode, meaning you can apply it to either brushes or layers. In this case, you want to apply it to a brush, so you'd do this: Hope that helps. Also, experiment with other brush modes to see what you get! (P.S.: Lucky... your Photoshop is better than mine!)

[endgame] biggrin Thanks! it helped alot -edit- this is what the tutorial helped meh make ^^; im aware of alot of things but i fully understand it now I advise zooming in more, to help make smooth outlines! Also the orange jacket panels are beautiful, but the other clothing areas need some more work. Like the black parts of the jacket - they're totally flat; add some shading there. I make black clothing by having it be a very dark gray instead. That lets you shade with actual black, so it looks much better. Like my edit of V.
