so.....i am not going to go around bashing other peoples opinions because, like it or not, they are entitled to them. but, i also want to be able to speak my mind as well without any bashing, so questions are welcomed, not full out flames. here i go:
i fully support gay marriage. my mom is a lesbian and my two best friends in the world are bisexual. my mother came out when i was in second grade and my dad found out. he told his then girlfriend (whose daughter happened to go to my school) who told her daughter to stay away from me and my mother (apparently being homosexual is contagious). by the next week, everyone at my school knew that my mom was gay so i got made fun of and picked on a lot. what i don't understand is why? why would you pick on a 7 year old girl because of what lifestyle her mother chose? why would you hurt someone else just because they are a little different? why, why, why? i have so many questions about why people think the way they do. i was raised to stand by my beliefs and not conform to anyone else's just because it is 'socially acceptable'. i have different opinions than my mom as well, so i don't just believe what she tells me to either. life is too short to judge everyone else based on differences, so why waste the time and effort?
sorry if this is confusing or too long! sweatdrop i didn't mean for it to be!

This right here, great discussion.
What I believe- I dont really believe in straight, bi, or gay, or lesbian. I believe if you love someone, you love someone. It may be friend love, it may be passionate love. You cant stop or help loving someone.
Religon- Its not wrong to think being homosexual is wrong. Its not wrong to think being homosexual is right. (There are no rights and wrongs in this world. Unless you have strict beliefs.) If you are Cristian and you are Gay, I think God should except you, just like a parent excepting their child if he or she tells them that their gay. I dont believe that it is not a sin. Theres nothing on the commendments saying you shouldn't be Gay. It says in the bible God doesn't like it. So, I think he is okay with it, at an extent.
Love is love. Love has no rules. Peace be with you.

Gay sex-
(To me, gay sex is kinda of nasty. But, male and female sex is kinda nasty. I'm such a baby, lol) But, gay sex is just another way for gay lovers to express their love. Sex is supposed to be beautiful, b/c its supposed to be love in a physical form.

-Ultra Glacial Rose- *cuts in*
It's rude, now a days guy's can't hug without because labeled "gay"
So true! Way back when, men used to hug to show how much theu missed each other. Men used to cry. for a long time, men are pressured to be 'manly', never hug unless its a girl, never cry unless someone dies. Like, in my school, gay is the new Jewish. People call you gay now even if girls hug girls. And they have little games like, "If your hands are on the table you are gay." Its sick how society today hates someone's way of life. Wait in a few eons and being ' Straight' will be the new Homosexual.

My my, so many religious people in here, and they all like to pick and choose...Well, this is no ED, after all. How disappointing. I have so many questions for the shifty pick-and-choosers, but I won't ask them...I'd hate to change the topic. The reason that I believe gays are so commonly hated is what I call Hitler-complex. It's human nature to hate and fear that which is different. (I am a firm believer that if Christ-like figure [a kind, loving, caring, peace-advocating, humble man] came back, we'd just find some way to kill him again, after swindling him for all he was worth and exploiting any powers we may have to the best of our abilities as humans.) If it's different, you hate it; that's how you're built. It's common sense to destroy that which is hated if there are no consequences. Thus we have hate crimes. I believe that if all of humanity united against a common enemy, every single man woman and child sided with each other to defeat one common oppositional group and we won, the next day, would be politics as usual. If the majority found some other enemy and declared war upon them (or otherwise authorized killing) and we were successful, then we'd just narrow the scope until we found some other thing that we find abominable. This might sound terrible to you, but remember; history is recorded by the victors. Here we come back to religion; no doubt this series of genocidal skirmishes would doubtlessly be recorded as Holy Wars. Of course this stipulated scenario does require the repeated declaration of war for unfeasable reasons. I'm not saying it never happens, but its vastly unlikely enough that the given scenario is more than unlikely to ever occur. That said, I feel the mark of a good person is rising above the base human nature and accepting others, when what they claim as their rights as human beings do not infringe upon your own.

I just talked to someone about this today. I don't hate the gays, I just think their way of life is weird. But many people think of me that way. I'm neutral but I also believe 'gay' shouldn't be used as an insult

I am againist or with neither.I am straight. But I see no problem with other sexualities. I agree that it is a sin. But I say let them sin if they want since its their lives. You don't shun someone if they don't like pizza. So why shun someone if they don't prefer girls/boys?

I don't really care if anyone is gay or bi. I even have both gay and bi friends. But it's a real problem for my parents. When they found out my friend was bi they thought i was bi too. A pretty stupid way to think. And I when I told my step-dad about a guy I knew who was gay, he called him "a f**", and people at my school act like that too. But I think they're just scared of people who are different, and are very narrowed-minded.

Wow... where do I begin on this subject?
First, I have no religion. I believe in God and I believe he is up there and guiding me in all I do, but I don't go to church or mosks (totally screwed up that spelling, sorry. >.<) or synagogs. I don't think it's necessary. If He really is as great as people say, then He should know without me having to go.
Gays... I adore them. Gay men, I love with a passion, because they're so amazing and fun to talk to. And they have a brilliant sense of fashion. And - this might be just teenage horomones talking - but I think men kissing is so HOT. 8D Sorry you guys. xd But if men are allowed to like lesbians, I'm allowed to like gay men. 'Nuff said. biggrin
Also, I despise how people hate gays or lesbians simply because of who they love. I understand if gays or lesbians tore their family apart - but even then they should hate THAT person or THOSE people, not the entire social group. But people who hate them just BECAUSE... that's just - I beg your pardon, but I feel so powerfully about this subject - retarded. It shows them to be closed minded and unable to accept something they have no control over. I have friends who are bi, friends who are lesbian and gay, and I would take bullets for them. I'm also TECHNICALLY bi (I do stuff with girls, but nothing REALLY sexual) but I lean more towards men than with women. I just mess with women because they react so much better than men do - they play along a lot more. And - I dare say - the female body is much more pleasing to the eye than male. I SERIOUSLY think I should've been born a man - it would make everything SO much easier. Anyway, back on subject.
My sister is a lesbian. Always and forever. My dad and her yelled for like, 3 hours at each other over the phone when she told him. (my dad is SERIOUSLY religious) That was over three years ago, and he's STILL bitter about it. He even treats ME differently because of it. I can't sleep over at my girlfriends' houses and they can't sleep in the same bedroom with me when they sleep over at MY house. It's RETARDED. >.<
And it's because of society's shunning of gays and lesbians that teenage suicides are up. Because there's so much pressure on teenagers to be perfect to the eyes of their peers, teenagers who are struggling with their sexual identity fall into depression, and begin hating themselves just BECAUSE society reacts so violently towards homosexuals. Kids being beat up because they're gay, students being shunned by their classmates - that poor boy (may God bless him) who got shot in the head in L.A. a couple of months ago just BECAUSE he was gay - it makes me sick. And that idiotic idea that there's a gay 'gene' scientists can destroy - a ridiculous notion. Gay gene or not, genetics shouldn't be touched like that. It's disrespectful and it's inhumane.
Okay, calm down... don't go on a ranting spree... deep breaths...
But - to put it simply - being gay or lesbian doesn't change who they are. They're still that person you always knew or are beginning to know, and they deserve to be treated the same. Knowing them will broaden your horizons, and you will be all the wiser in the end. There is nothing to lose but everything to gain when you look past who the person loves and look at who they are in full light. Only then can you pass proper judgement - as everyone should.

Most people are against gay people because of church. The only thing i think is as long as Straight people respect gays and gays respect straight people what about it? It's only a sexuality choice.

I used to be in a gay guild and I've made and read millions of posts like this. But here's my two cents - sexual orientation is not something you can choose. Therefore, hating someone just because they're gay doesn't make much sense, because people who are gay did not choose to be that way just to annoy the church or the conservatives or whomever... It would be like hating red-headed people for having red hair. Yes, I know that that has also been happening throughout the world history. stare Anyway, the discrimination is usually a sign of unresolved problems someone has, that they then project onto others. It's much easier when you can point a finger and blame someone else for some/all your problems. Much easier than looking at yourself and admitting that you're the one with the problem anyway.

I was raised as a Catholic and I'm gay. But in the bible it never actually says anything about being against gays if peopleactually took the time to read the bible. Besides man was created in god's image and the first human created was Adam and Eve was created from adam. So yes some things are diffrent but we are generally all the same and god is not against that.
