musing_maiden crystal_raye Right now I'm on a mini-mission to get copies of all the books I used to love as a kid. Anyone go Abiyoyo laying around? Unfortunately, no. But I remember that book! I saw it on Reading Rainbow. 3nodding That was such a legit show. Anybody else remember watching it as a kid? Lavar Burton ftw! whee Reading Rainbow is amazing I have some on VHS that were copied from the T.V. I can find it some times on T.V but they changed the opening which was so disappointing because the old one was better. They I am very biased.

Nicky Cade CasandraM By the way anybody here love Roald Dahl? I really enjoy Dahl's work, but I didn't read it until I was out of the suggested age group for his more popular works like Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy them now though, and I do enjoy his darker work like Lamb to the Slaughter now.
I totally just had a flashback and remembered The Magic Tree House series. They were all about a brother and sister that had a tree house that brought them to all these different places to have adventures (Eg. a pirate ship, pre-historic times to see dinosaurs). There was also The Time-Warp Trio. I could read both series' books in about a quarter hour now, but I spent hours and hours on them as a child.Magic Treehouse series was awesome.

...birds creep over tin roofs, like criminals with tap shoes... .::I must have gone through tons of nancy drew novels as a kid::. Both my mom and my aunt had saved the ones they read when they were kids, and i got some new ones also. I read until i couldn't stand her anymore XD
And i was in a bookclub, Pollux, it was all about horses, so ive gone through my fair share of those as well, worst part is, im allergic, cant even pet a horse without getting affected XD
The Wizard of Oz, and lots of other Oz books were recommended by the librarian when i wanted something to read, and that was greatly appreciated :3
And then Narnia, and with that taste of fantasy, i had found my niche.
...stain the glass with windows, extortionate and cold stare...

I used to love the Babysitter's Series sweatdrop . That got me hooked on reading. What got me hooked on Fantasy was Ella Enchanted. I hate how they mangled it with the movie stressed .

I have two older brothers so I always read their hand me downs so I read books like The Hobbit or The Giver, books that you wouldn't understand until you got a lot older but were still good books.

I liked the Bernstein Bears and Arthur books in 2nd grade. Also, Hank the Hound Dog. Or I think that's what it's called. sweatdrop
I loved the Junie B. Jones books in third grade.
Then moved on to the Fear Street series which is what really got me into reading. After I read every one of those books I moved on to the Goosebumps series. This was in 6th grade. 3nodding

I totally just remembered two more I loved as a kid. They were: Amelia Bedelia and Henry and Mudge. They were both series' I believe, but I always had at least one of each out of the school library.

I never read as a kid until my favorite hippie teacher taught me how to be alive through reading. Thats sounds lame, but thats what it was. I'm a bibliophile now XD

As a kid I really loved Paul Jennings and all his works, and now that I'm in my teens I still adore them just the same. He's got such a way with his imagination.

I would have to say that I enjoyed the Redwall series immensely as a kid. That series is what hooked me on to reading. After that I guess Harry Potter but that was more middle school.
