[ORP] Summer Festival 2010

Time: Noon
Where: the beach!!
What: (Prajna) A paintball event// (Namini) a nice afternoon just sunbathing
Involves: Namini, Prajna, Varun, Rivener, Ripley, Eiry, and a few others...

- - - - - -
Summary: While Namini soaked up some rays alongside the beach, Prajna was on the prowl, dancing about sand dunes and rusted barrels, engaged in battle. Prajna stabbed Varun in the back, or well...accidentally shot, but Prajna was forgiven as it shot Rivener soon after. Then a full out headshot war began between the Fallen Star and the unfamiliar Ripley.

[PRP] Heres a little diddy just for you~

Time: Mid evening, just as the sun is setting
Where: Durem music store
What: A random encounter
Involves: Namini and Prajna, Jezabroux and Luka

[PRP] Learning to play with light

Time: the beginning of night
Where: Le Blanc, a bakery

- - - - - -
Summary: After Prajna had caught sight and sound of what it considered the most magnificent instrument ever made by human hands one afternoon on television, the Star demanded that Namini escort it to the local music store to get a more intimate look at the wooden beauty. Meanwhile, new faces, Luka and Jezabroux, found themselves at the same music store also, where the young Satyr was begging his guardian to play a piece for him on the piano. When Jezabroux obliged, it was no surprise he caught the musical attention of everyone within a few feet of him and the piano, including an enthusiastic redheaded Star. Upon closer approach though, Namini watched as Prajna's face twisted into a mixed expression of interest and what looked like slight pain: she was unaware of how hungry Luka was somehow making Prajna feel. Soon, the Star broke away from the crowd and turned on heel back to the cello it was seeking, hoping to escape that unfamiliar lust, but not without a curious Satyr close behind. Eventually Luka stopped Prajna and introduced himself: curious, young and inviting. Prajna, on the other hand, felt cornered and ravished, torn between its desire to hear the wonders of the cello ...and sucking the life out of poor, beautiful newcomer Luka. Somewhere else in the store, Namini and Jezabroux also exchanged introductions, albeit kinder, more casual ones than their floating counterparts; it was clarified that Jezabroux was here on potential Christmas shopping. How endearing.

The Star and the Satyr quickly came to the discussion of who had met whom and then Cordelia's name was brought up and the tension between the two young lights was immediately magnified. If Luka was friends with Cordelia, then Prajna thought that he too must be an enemy... Their conversation was cut short as their guardians approached, which was good news for Luka, as Prajna released the grip it had on the Forsaken light's soft, ethereal hair. Luka now knew that Prajna was no fool and no easily won individual and immediately befriended Namini to have some kind of guard up. Namini, though, knew this pattern too well and quickly took a stand beside Prajna, placing a firm hand on its shoulder: she would have no such fighting during such a glorious holiday! Jezabroux mirrored her and somehow, the guardians got their Freis to make up, albeit in their own unique ways: Prajna's lacking a true "sorry" and Luka's beginning with a questioning of why he should be apologizing. In hopes of smoothing things over, the kind Jezabroux extended an invitation to Namini and Prajna to nearby bakery and the Naos accepted graciously, Prajna suddenly on good behavior since it believed that Santa was actually watching it. The Star shot one last longing glance at its beloved cello in the back of the store, a mammoth of a treasure, before following everyone out of the store and towards the warm and busy bakery.

In the bakery, Jezabroux and Namini quickly preoccupied themselves with choosing something from the ornate pastry shelves to fill their stomachs while Prajna and Luka resorted to finding their own food around the store. Prajna had suddenly been overtaken by a wave of lethargy but watching Luka play with lights and display how he ate was enough to keep the Star entertained and relaxed. That was, until, Prajna decided to try and so Luka some of its "magic tricks." Managing to consciously trigger the blue flames Prajna displayed with Varun the first time they met, the redhead laid its glowing hands on the tabletop in hopes of catching Luka's interest. It worked but when the Satyr was a bit too curious for his own good and reached out to touch them, he soon found himself KO'ed, facedown on the table. Panicked, Prajna tried to nudge his companion awake but Jezabroux was quick to the Satyr's side and the Star was overcome with guilt and fear. No one had ever passed out from touching Prajna's flames before, not even the almighty Varun!

Still uncertain of what to do, Prajna took a string of lights and wrapped them around Luka's head, trying to pull him out of his unconscious. When Luka finally awoke, Prajna was relieved but unsure of how to apologize. Luka really shouldn't have touched its flames, though this Luka agreed to and explained to Namini that Prajna had not been bad. Jezabroux and Luka, as would be expected, began to take their leave, sorry for the unfortunate meeting, but not without Prajna getting in the last word. Stopping Luka at the door, but unable to openly express how sorry it was... the Star headbutted its new "friend" and wished for Luka to become stronger so that next time they met, Luka wouldn't be so weak. The Satyr let out a curse but seemed to agree. Namini was left baffled and apologetic, though the ride home was nothing but quiet and awkward for the both of the Naos.

Merry Christmas

Time:Christmas eve
Where: the Nao apartment
What: a special surprise
Involves: David, Namini, Prajna and someone else...

buzz! buzz!

Each Nao stirred in their slumber, Prajna being the most agitated. The Fallen Star had just curled up in its mink cave when the doorbell buzzed so abruptly, Prajna thought a disgustingly fat bee had dived straight in one exposed ear and out the other. It did not want to move. The buzzing had stopped but Prajna knew someone would probably resort to knocking any moment now. It did not want to move. Instead it eyed the bedroom doors of Namini and David. The young brunette had gone to bed much earlier tonight than she often did, but the Star imagined that was from cooking and wrapping so many gifts...gifts she probably thought the redhead didn't know about. How naive. David on the other hand... Prajna looked at the bottom crack of David's door. A faint light was coming through. The idiot man must have fallen asleep while watching the late night news again. What a perfect waste of light. Prajna decided it was David's duty to answer the door before all Hell broke loose. Taking a nearby book off of the endtable beside Prajna's couch, the Star took aim and then -THUD!- struck David's door. On cue, Prajna smirked as a muffled curse word came from the man's room.

Within moments, a tall Nao ripped open his door and glared down at the fiery soul. David stumbled over the book Prajna had thrown and let out another cuss. What time was it? The Chinese man rubbed an eye and looked at the kitchen clock. Two in the morning?!

"Prajna, this better be ******** good. It's two in the morning" David hissed, half of him still in slumber, the other awake and raging. Prajna pointed to the door and shot the older Nao an indifferent glance before burrowing deeper into its covers, "Someone is at the door. Answer before Namini gets up."

David picked up the book from the floor and raised it above the Star's head. As he dropped the book onto Prajna's hidden face, David then turned and hobbled to the door. This better be good...

A black case is left by your door one morning...

User Image

Taped to the case is a note!

note
Dear Prajna,
Namini has told me you’ve wanted a cello for quite some time.
And after reading her letter about why you deserve one, here’s a merry Christmas to you.
I hope you like my gift.
-Santa

P.S. You had no chimney, otherwise I would have left it inside.

David stared at the dark, awkwardly shaped case until his eyes fully adjusted to its shape, cloaked in the hallway's darkness and only exposed through a soft silhouette of moonlight. The man wandered further out into the residential hallway and glanced around. Not a soul. And it was freezing. David scratched his head and then saw the note taped to the front of the case.

"Dear Prajna..." David murmured, having trouble making out the rest, it was too dark. Then the Asian turned and ran a curious hand over the case. It was effortlessly smooth and cold. A part of David felt like his hand could just sink into the blackness of the case but..it was just a case. How could he be so silly.

"David?"

The older Nao turned in surprise to see his curly haired sister wandering out into the living room. She rubbed a tired eye as she passed her charge, who had exposed its irritated face now. Prajna mouthed "I told you" to David as it nodded towards Namini. David didn't know what to do.

"What's that?" Namini inquired, half yawning. Her eyes adjusted and then glistened with her usual childlike enthusiasm. "What's in the case?"

Before David could even begin to explain though, Namini was in the doorway trying to get the case in herself. Her brother knew better though and nudged her aside, taking the case carefully in both of his stronger arms.

"It's so pretty. Who's it from?" Namini squealed, closing and locking the door behind them, unaware of the time or the cold. She was just like any other child on Christmas, anxious for surprises and gifts. Setting it down by the kitchen bar and their small Christmas tree, David read the note aloud. Prajna was awake and attentive now. Its blue eyes bore holes into the case. Namini was smiling ear-to-ear and clapping with joy, "You told me Santa's not real though David!"

Her brother scowled and playfully pushed her head down.

"Can open now?" Prajna asked flatly, its voice hinting at a small bit of suspicion. Namini turned to David who shrugged indifferently and handed his sister the note.

"Knock yourself out. I'm going to bed," came his reply. Namini pouted at her brother's uncaring nature but the younger Naos let him go. The present was too exciting to let go to waste.

Namini took Prajna's warm spot under the covers as she watched the Frei slither out of its fuzzy cave and towards the case. The thing was nearly as big as Namini and Prajna was uncertain of what it could be. Was it some kind of trap sent by Cordelia or Lucia? LuLu had told Santa how bad Prajna had been perhaps? Instinctively, Prajna took a moment to force blue flames to its fingertips. It was going to take no chances. Who knows what Santa could have sent it? Coal? Ha, not in this kind of ominous wrapping. The Fallen Star reached for the casing's clasps and, simultaneously, unlocked both. Its young audience felt her heart flutter in excitement. David would never have gotten something like this for Prajna and Namini sure didn't know who it was from. Maybe Josh and Lulu had sent something? It had been a while since she had heard from her friend...Namini's cheeks blushed at the thought of her missing companion. She'd have to call Josh soon and set something up.

"Open it Prajna. Please, the suspense is killing me~" Namini pleaded, wiggling her toes from underneath the blanket. Prajna obliged and upon opening the case, found itself choke. Namini's cerulean eyes got as large as saucers when she saw the majestic black cello sitting inside.

"Oh my god" the two Naos murmured in unison. As the oblong music casket creaked open, both pairs of twilight blue eyes widened at the sight of its interior holdings: a glossy, abyssal black cello. Namini recognized it from the music store they had visited just days before and wondered if Santa Claus really knew how badly she had wanted to get it for her delicate Star. Maybe he had asked Jezabroux if the Naos were really worthy of such a gift.

Prajna, as well, was speechless.

The instrument was nothing but magnificent, perfect in every sense of the word. It was endlessly black like the midnight sky, only its strings standing out against the blackness. The top of the cello, the scroll, curved like a dip in starlight, the smoothness of it all never ceasing to amaze the Fallen Star. The end pin looked almost like a descending star as well, steel and coming to a fine point. Even the f-holes seemed to possess no bottom as they dug deep into the very black heart of the cello's core. Prajna let its quietly trembling fingertips run along the case's lip and then wander ever so carefully to the instrument itself. Namini inhaled quietly and held her breath in anticipation. She watched the Star's movements with a sudden sense of pride and self-achievement. It was difficult to be for certain, but Prajna seemed happy. And that made the girl happy beyond words. After a pause in movement, Namini decided it was safe to exhale, "Go ahead Prajna. Try it out."

The brunette bobbed her curls towards a bow that laid beside the starless string instrument and Prajna nodded solemnly, its hands still trembling. Was this truly real? Or was Prajna sick again, experiencing some kind of hallucination? Prajna reached for the matching bow and recognized its weight. It was nowhere near as heavy as the musicians on television had made it seem. Perhaps...a bow became heavier the more emotions one tried to produce through their music? Prajna would have to learn their ways, learn how to make that beautiful music. Its icicle stare turned slowly in the darkness back to the anticipating strings of the cello. Namini, as if sensing what question may arise, nodded in encouragement, "Forget David. Just one quick note. Please Prajna. I want to hear you play for me."

The guardian's unpolished but genuine enthusiasm and complete attention was more than enough for the Fallen Star to oblige. Taking a deep breath, the crimson haired Frei lifted the bow with extreme care and then, closing its eyes, replaying the thousands of musical performances it had watched in the past week, ran the bow slowly but confidently along the cello's thin strings. The heavy, inspirational sounds that then came out seemed to fill every inch of the apartment's dark emptiness. Namini felt goosebumps rise on her arms and neck as the last note lingered in the air. It was definitely not a bad first sound, especially made by such an inexperienced musician. Prajna opened its eyes, as if awakening in a trance before finally releasing a breath it hadn't realized it had been holding in. This cello...was like a breath of fresh air, better than any artificial light Prajna had ever obtained, better than kisses from Vyn or hugs from Varun, better than the stars themselves. The Fallen Star did not understand how it went so long without knowing of such a majestic creature's existence.

"In the day...can I play more?" came the exhausted response. Prajna felt it was difficult to maintain a steady voice. Namini smiled, surprised at the Star's unusual pronoun but nodded instantly, "But of course. I can't wait to hear your beautiful songs Prajna."

And with that, the brunette rubbed her eyes and then leaned over to place a tender kiss on Prajna's cold forehead. The Star, one to usually shun such affections, allowed it that night. It would do anything the girl asked of it, as long as it was allowed to keep this newfound love. As Namini lifted herself up and walked towards her bedroom, Prajna stared longingly into the case. Ten or so minutes passed by before Prajna noticed chunks of time go missing from minuscule black outs. With great hesitation, it returned the bow back to its grooved lining and then, slowly, sealed its beautiful Christmas gift back up. Prajna lifted it effortlessly against the couch where it then went back to residing. Only after wiggling back into a nice position in its heavy covers did Prajna find itself staring at the pitch black instrument coffin until it could not longer keep its winter blue eyes open. Tomorrow, Prajna would begin to revive its new fallen star. Tomorrow, Prajna thought, it would no longer feel so alone.

[Pre-PRP] Love Trap:

It was at times like this where Prajna didn't mind so much, not having those clumsy human legs. Those silly things would have made the redhead's nighttime adventure way too difficult to perform. There was a chime that suddenly echoed throughout the entire Nao apartment, causing the Star to creep, like a newborn caterpillar, out of its blanket cocoon and peer at the clock, eyes squinting as if the flat times table was the sun itself. It read nine a.m. Namini had been long gone and David had just left, leaving the Star all alone. It smirked as it rummaged through its covers and pulled out a familiar pink cell phone, Namini's cute little ringer as it was. Yes, if the redhead had had legs and ...feet, the Star shuddered at the thought, then kidnapping the girl's cell would have proven a lot trickier.

Prajna flipped open the device and quickly maneuvered about the teen's contact list. J, J, J, J- Why the hell did this girl have so many names and numbers?! Finally, Prajna found the J's and immediately pressed the call button. As the Star raised the phone up to its ear, listening intently on the number of rings, it was naive enough to not double check the name... where, instead of Josh, Prajna had dialed Jezabroux...

AIM
[13:34] Kandabre: "Jezabroux's phone. Luka, can help you?"
[13:35] panicgame: "Loo...Luka? Jezabra? ...Not Josh?"
[13:35] Kandabre: "… Luka on Jezabroux's phone. No Josh, must have wrong number."
[13:37] panicgame: "Is Prajna. Remember Prajna...Luuukaa? *snickers*"
[13:38] Kandabre: "… Oh… Hello Prajna…. Why did call Elai's phone and ask for a Josh?
[13:39] panicgame: "What is Luka doing now? Is busy? Want...fun? Yes?"
[13:43] Kandabre: "In Elai's office… want go home…. Fun? If fun is not blue fire then yes… Why Prajna?"
[13:46] panicgame: "Blue fire? ...Well, not important now. What is your man doing now? Is not close to you so Luka can speak to Prajna moreso?"
[13:48] Kandabre: "Elai is in the other room, busy with needles and smelly old people. Speak Prajna of this fun."
[14:06] panicgame: "Namini is gone now but has been like...*siiighhh* all week. Prajna is tired of *siighhh* so try call Josh who is like kissing-friend of Namini like. But...call Luka instead. But it no matters. Jez-man will be fine. Can Luka trick well?"
[14:09] Kandabre: "Yes. Luka can be very tricky Prajna. So, does Prajna want Elai for Namini stop *sigighhhh*?"
[14:11] panicgame: "Hmmm yes, would be good. Luka has heard of the *sighh* yes? Is very annoying yes?! Does Elai do-- ahem..ah. Oh! Can Luka get Elai to go to the animal place? On ...Saturday? Twelven-noon yes?"
[14:15] Kandabre: "Feh. Elai does not stop *sssiiiggghhh* since frozen building on TV. Animal place…..? Does Prajna speak of zoo? Saturday, noon… Yes. We will be there Prajna."
[14:16] panicgame: "Good, yes, zoo. Oh, Luka, make sure wearing nice things. Prajna does not let Namini be ugly in public. If Elai and Luka is meeting, wear clothes. Yes. Adieu to you."
[14:19] Kandabre: "Elai always dress nice, as do I. Yes, yes. See you on 12 of Saturday at zoo Prajna. Talk with Prajna later, bye."

[PRP] Lovin or lion

Time: the Saturday prior to Valentine's day
Where: Durem zoo
What: A planned date for the Freis, a tricked one for the guardians?!
Involves: Namini and Prajna, Jezabroux and Luka

- - - - - -
Summary: Set up by their mischievous charges, Namini and Jezabroux found themselves in a kind of awkward situation at the zoo while the young Freis smiled and embraced one another's company graciously. It wasn't long before the two wildlings broke free from their guardians' reach, though, and soon Luka and Prajna were wandering curiously around the zoo, while Namini and Jezabroux got to know one another a little better. After some exotic birds and some lazy lions, the troublesome twosome ran into some drama when a overly curious girl was caught stroking Luka's unguarded wings and Prajna came to see nothing but red. It had seized the girl's wrist and threatened her a bit but quickly returned to its "date" with Luka and led the two off somewhere nicer and less crowded: an aquarium. Another intimate quarrel arose when Luka was playing in a touchable tank and cried out for Prajna. Prajna arrived, misunderstanding Luka's cry for one of pain, and seized the closest human, a small child, and threatened her to try and find out who had hurt the Star's friend. Luka, shocked and disappointed, told Prajna that if it did not stop with the hurting, he would no longer play with the redhead, a threat to which Prajna responded with an immature "I hate you." The families eventually parted ways and Prajna could not get the bittersweet taste of parting out of its mouth for the remainder of that weekend...

Cat & the Fiddle

User Image

Time: September 12th, the night of the Full Moon**
Where: A small forest outside of the Nao apartment complex, Durem
What: Seeking clarity
Involves: Prajna

**I will be too busy on Sept. 12th, so I wanted to RP this in accordance to that night; I apology for the awkwardness (?)

It was a lot heavier than Prajna had expected. But then again, it was usually just propped against the Star's indefinite chest or a wall, or... something. But now Prajna felt the entirety of the abyssal cello's weight and it felt just like that: an abyss. Whenever Prajna was able to stop and catch its breath whilst leaning the majestic instrument against a nearby staircase or tree, it was thankful, but the moment it placed the cello back on its' half developed back again, it felt like the instrument had gained another pound. The thought of Prajna simply growing tired never crossed the young Frei's mind; The cello was just cursed or something. That's all that made sense at almost midnight. The Inverted Flame trekked onward, down past the complex's crumbling staircase, beyond the rows of sleeping flowers that created the path from the stairs to the central Durem water fountain, further out until the redhead found itself staring at the dark edges of a nearby forest. Prajna's blue eyes seemed to become even more piercing in the moonlight, like a wild beast whose golden orbs would flash in the blackness of the night, eyeing whoever motioned past it, as it traced the edge of the forest carefully. Prajna was hesitant to enter. Was it because night had fallen now? Or was it what people called "gut instinct", something telling it it should return home?

Prajna remembered the earlier morning as it when grocery shopping with Namini. As the Naos returned home, Prajna had noticed a shuffling in the corner of its eye. Sneaking away from Namini's maternal gaze for a moment, the Star eyed a small cat. Their brilliant eyes met for a moment before the feline bolted off under some bushes and into the thick undertow of the forest. Prajna had wanted to chase after it, a flustered look on its face, as if wanting to apologize for the scare, but Namini had caught it. She was becoming too good at tugging what felt like the leash of the fiery Frei's very existence. With a scoff, Prajna followed the girl home but not without the image of the alluring forest burning deeper and deeper into the Star's methodological mind...

And now, Prajna found itself facing what had haunted its dreams all day....but what was this feeling of anxiety? Prajna removed the blackened cello from its back and laid it carefully down, with the endpin piercing the soft dirt. As the soft autumn wind played with Prajna's crimson locks, the Frei tried to glare deeper into the darkness. Maybe it should just play here. Maybe the cat would return here... But something about that didn't seem to make sense. The furry creature had run away from the Star IN to the forest, so obviously, it must have felt safer in there. Prajna had learned with many other furry things, especially ones of the feline descent, that you had to go to them rather than have them come to you. So with a quick spin of the cello and another swift lift, Prajna ventured boldly into the black depths of the wilderness.

At first, the bushes did nothing more than sweep against the Frei's dangling ribbon and brush lightly against the sides of the cello, but as Prajna wandered deeper in, vines started to pull at its hair and branches grew longer and more mischievous, tugging at sleeves and cutting the Frei's delicate flesh. Considering giving up at one point, that's when Prajna saw it: an opening. A stage, more so. The Frei wandered into the open view, like a moth being drawn to a flame, uncaring of who else could possibly be watching it in envy, out of jealousy of its courageousness. The moonlight made the small circle seem like all those cinematic scenes from princess tales and dramatic operas. Prajna rested the onyx colored cello on its endpin again and floated low against it, catching its breath. The Star's cerulean eyes sparkled like twilight as they slowly began to focus on the small, moonlit details around it: the soft silhouette of wild flowers, the ominous looking edges of thorny bushes, the faint lights of distant fireflies, preparing for sleep. For a brief moment, Prajna thought of Namini, sleeping daintily, her brown curls a perfect halo of innocence on her pillow and her soft hands curled up beside her face... and it sighed. The scene was breathtaking and Prajna was glad it was all its alone; Sometimes, the Frei wondered if humans could even slightly appreciate the things Raevans did. How different were their senses, their capabilities, their reasons for existence?

Mrow?

Prajna felt its fingers burst out into fearsome blue flames as it whipped around and directed the cello's bow at a small shrub. Golden eyes flashed in the shadows and immediately the flames dispersed and the bow was lowered.

Mrow?

All of Prajna's features relaxed as it recognized the feline's tender voice. How soothing animals were.... At least that was one thing Prajna knew most humans, like Namini and even David, and itself shared: an appreciation for the most innocent beasts.

"Would you like for me to play a song for you? I am not very good but ...." Prajna stopped itself and its unusually proper grammar, a tongue only applied towards animals, as the cat stretched and seemed to glide on out of the shadows. Yes. It was the same calico from this morning. Prajna was happy to see it again. The cat came up and sniffed the cello, curious and at ease. Raising its bow carefully and then gliding it against the strings, Prajna positioned itself to play. As the low sound vibrated softly from the cello's mouth, the cat seemed surprised but intrigued. It continued to listen and watch amusingly as Prajna continued to play. And the Star played and played until the cat fell asleep at the base of the cello, purring softly...

[PRP] Angel of Mercy (How did you find me?)

Time: Early afternoon, during school hours
Where: the Nao residence
What: Varun has come to ask for Prajna's assistance and comfort.
Involves: Prajna & Varun

- - - - - -
Summary: While Namini was away at her classes and David was away at work, Prajna found itself bored and feeling a little lonely. About to go out exploring on its own, suddenly Varun came knocking on the front door, demanding to see the Star. He explained that Kinsey had abandoned him and asked that Prajna help him recover his old self, preferably starting with somehow salvaging his hair, which had been hacked off in Kinsey's absence in frustration and distress. Prajna cleans Varun up, but one thing leads to another, and when Varun finally tells Prajna that they are not the same, that they never will be, Prajna cuts off its own ponytail to try and establish some equivalence between them. An unbreakable red string of Fate now seems to bind the two redheads together, their friendship stronger than ever before.

- - - - - -

Later, Namini came home to red hair all over the ground and Prajna sleepily watching television. Prajna's explanation of the events?

"I was bored."

Namini wanted to reprimand Prajna and fret over it, but after seeing that no other damage was made, offers to help it clean up its own hair, which is still choppy and a mess. Prajna agrees and their small friendship is also strengthened.

[PRP] Crazy Train

Time: Late Evening / Twilight
Where: Durem Groundspan Train Station
What: It's a partttttayyyy 8D
Involves: Prajna and Basil

- - - - - -
Summary: After watching him laugh like a madman at the noise being made by the passing trains, Prajna greeted foreigner Basil, though hesitant at first for his resemblance to Cordelia. Eventually, the two headed off into Prajna-inspired mischief as they sneaked onto a late night train heading into the countryside. As Basil soaked up the rattling and metallic noises of the train. Prajna questioned whether it should truly trust the Cobra or not until Basil let slip a compliment to Prajna's intelligence. Flattered, the Star embraced Basil, deciding it actually liked being in Basil's company before the duo decided to wander the rest of the train's passenger carts. They didn't wander very far though, since, following an incident with some spoons, the patrolling train officers found them and asked them how they got on. Defiant but tired, the Freis decided perhaps it was best to end their adventure early and simply cooperate with the authorities, who really weren't looking for any trouble anyways. Not returning until at least five a.m., Prajna only remembered waking up at one point, its eyes still half-lidded, to see how peaceful Basil looked. It had been a wonderful night under the stars indeed.
