::Minutes later and Deity was back down from his room again, this time more suitably dressed for the weather outside. The occasional gust of wind kept the wind chill factor prominent, but even the stagnant air was biting - hence the addition of the boy's buttoned-up 3/4 black coat and the red scarf he'd tossed around his face and neck. The fabric matched his bandana, totally hiding his face while keeping him toasty. Winter-gloved hands had buried themselves in the pockets of his coat, which draped stiffly against his pants, which he was already wearing before. The flip-flops made way for thick-soled black leather boots, which - upon contact with the wooden floorboards - made the skinny Orinian man sound a good several pounds heftier.

As he exited the elevator the quiet one threw a quick glance to the barstool that his brother occupied - now joined by Caine - his stride steady and long as he made a beeline for the front doors. He kept his face forward, eyes hiding behind foggy lenses as they watched Taliman at the bar. He's just chilling out, waiting, he thought. What's he waiting for? Does he need another word or to start some more s**t? Deity made no obvious effort to acknowledge anyone else in the room - as far as anyone else was concerned, he passe dthrough without noticing any of them. He paused as he reached the entrance, removing his hand from his pocket to turn one of the knobs. Then again, he continued, I think I was the one starting s**t last time...

The boy left the thought at the door as he passed through and out into the knife-like cold. Ducking his face further down into the scarf, tucked into his coat as it was, Deity looked about the area. The perimeter was clearly established as a line of shrubs and bushes that grew gradually into trees, some distance from the tower and adjacent stadium. The clearing that surrounded the buildings was covered in frozen grass and a pure-white blanket of snow - a single set of footprints lead off into the woods, which he presumed were made by the man of black.

With a quiet sigh, the quiet Tonepian followed the path already tread, heading into the icy forest beyond. He couldn't see Samayou yet, so he kept on the lookout for any figure waving him down. It was easy to overlook someone in a wood even when half the leaves were gone, and the man of black resembled a dead, branchless tree to begin with.::

"Nice to meet you Kenta!" Hotaru replied back. She was clearly disappointed when informed of Keno's absence. How dare he not be there during one of Hotaru's random and unannounced visits? She would have to beat him up when she saw him, or at least jump on his back for a piggy back ride.

Hotaru was pouting, but cocoa would help elevate her mood. "Can I have marshmallows in it?" She asked.

Samayou was not too far in, it was only a two minute trek before Deity’s efforts paid off. As the young boy walked he would follow the single s et of foot prints to a small clearing, the snow drizzling down on the icy breeze as if out of a Robert Frost poem. The Snow carefully covering the area around them as if every flake had a specific spot to fall, the air cold and frigid with no signs of life in sight other then the large Devil himself. Samayou had taken a seat under a single tree looking in the direction Deity had been coming from, his outfit was…well not as heavy s Deity’s.

The beast wore only a pair of belted black leather bottoms and a pair of combat boots. His upper body was bare allowing the pale light from the day to bask his deformed and scar covered body. His pale and foamy eyes where empty of any emotion they seemed almost out of touch with the world around him, as if he was lost in an eternal maze. His rumbling voice low as it drifted across the empty space between them with a friendly demeanor.

“Hello Deity, thank you for trekking out here to speak with me. I wanted to get you alone for a little while so we could talk.”

The General put the bottle of alcohol down next to him after he finished filling his glass with the whiskey. As he lifted the fiery liquid to his lips, Caine paused, glancing silently between his boss and his sis-....other sister. Honestly, the two should just get a room and get it over with. Jade might not be able to stand Taliman, but it seemed Kirra didn't feel the same way.

His sipped at the JD, turning his gaze away from the two and around the room. His eyes fell to the elevator as Tybron emerged, but blatantly ignored them as the owner headed for his front doors. The Saiya-jin glanced towards his boss again, who had finally broken stares with Kirra. When was he going to do something? Then again, with everyone here, it might not be so pretty. Tybron wasn't nearly fully recovered, and Taliman was only just healed. And likely everyone would jump in. And then there was Cado.

Another sip of whiskey, and Caine figured it would be smart to be ready to call for a medvac, just in case.

((*attacks back with a rolled-up Sunday newspaper* Don't you go whaping me! Rawr!))

The smirk never left Kirra's face. Her green eyes matched up with Taliman's single blue one, locked together in possibly the world's most erotic staring contest. She narrowed her eyes just a hair, letting her long lashes follow the curve of her mouth below. An alluring gaze that she used only when there was something she wanted. It was a charm she knew how to use well.

A pity he's already been claimed, and maybe tamed, by another woman.... Though how tamed, she wasn't sure. From the look she was getting, perhaps not much, if at all. He finally broke the gaze first, while Kirra let herself linger just a bit longer on his face before turning back to her apple. She took another bite, quickly wiping up the juice dribbling over her lip with a finger.

As she sat chewing, her eyes drifted back to the elevator as Deity returned to the room, decked out in his winter finest. What a place to have a meeting, outside. Kirra was one to prefer warmer weather; then again, anything that was less clothing required sat well with her. As soon as Deity had walked past Cado and out the door, Kirra leaned up from the counter and stretched. Kenta was cute, conversing with the little girl, but it wasn't all that entertaining for the Saiya-jin woman. So she decided to head elsewhere.

With a small sip from her bottle of water, she strode around the kitchen counter and over towards the bar where Taliman and Caine were gathered. She had enough respect to wait until at least Deity was outside before heading over, though to any one watching her it seemed she wanted to sit over there sooner. Kirra chose a stool that seperated her and the Emperor by one; intimate, without being *too* intimate. Her tail curled delicately around the support for the stool, while she crossed one leg over the other.

"I hope you don't mind that I join you boys..." She said with a smile, before taking another small bite from her apple.

::Ahh, he's still out here. There for a moment, the Orinian was concerned that he'd taken too long to get dressed. As his boots fell through the fresh, powdery snow only to crunch down into the thick settled ice underneath, Deity made his way over to the dark, stocky fellow waiting for him. These two apparently used to be acquaintances - friends even - but the boy had no recollection of the man of black. The apparent curse on his memory left them at square one - he had to rebuild a relationship from scratch. It led him to wonder at times about his largely forgotten past. How many friends have slipped my mind since they saw me last...?

A mental tangent for another time. Deity didn't know why he'd been called out there in the chilled weather or what Samayou wished to speak with him about. Stopping a few feet away from the man of black, he shook his head in response, indicating he didn't have any problems with the requested privacy outdoors. Confused and lacking info though he might have been, the quiet Tonepian's behavior certainly couldn't be construed as annoyed or impatient - it's not like he had anything better to do, and this conversation would hopeuflly be a welcome distraction from current events.

He didn't respond for a few seconds, instead just looking around the woods. Tama might guess that Deity hadn't heard him at all - head-shake notwithstanding - as he failed to acknowledge him further for another moment. He did finally say something - face still off in a mile-long stare into the trees - with his voice muffled somewhat by his scarf.::

...what about?

::His words were soft as usual, but he noted the scarf and chose to speak up, bearing Tama's hearing in mind. Whether one's conversational partner had excellent ears or not, whispering from behind a scarf in breezy weather standing a few feet away was just plain rude.::

The Abyssal Lord and young Tonepian where very different now both in size and mental structure. Deity had always been withdrawn, kind, sweet, Tamashii was hard, stern and most of all he always knew his plan of action. He never hesitated…until today….

He was unsure how to read Deity how to approach the conversation and what questions to ask. They had been some what friends before but something about Deity felt off today. Many souls when brought back lost all memories of their life before death, it was called The Equivalent Exchange Effect. When a soul was at the Gateway it traded all its life experiences and memories as a toll to enter and go to a peaceful afterlife, if Sama was reading it right that is what happened to Deity before he was called back by Jade.

He first started by approaching Deity respectfully by standing up, his large frame towering both in width and height to Deity as he smiled a little. His rumbling voice louder then the winds and cold and it was clear he was a good public speaker.

“Well a few things actually but I was hoping to get a clear idea of what happened to you. Before I go any further I want you to know that I am not asking because I am curious I have felt the ramifications of your situation before first hand it is because well, it is my job. I doubt you have any memory of me so let me introduce myself, I am Gate Keeper Samayou Tamashii.”

With that he extended his large black right hand, his granite fingers open and welcoming.

::Now, the boy thought, I'm really confused. Standing eye-to-eye with Samayou in the cold - the man of black holding out his hand with a misplaced, confounding introduction - Deity was somewhat at a loss. They'd already met. This bit of their opening dialogue had come and gone week prior to this day. His hand having risen instinctively to shake, it now froze halfway through the journey, distance not travelled thanks to the Orinian's baffled expression. Cloaked behind his scarf as his face was, were it not for his next words he might have come off as being rude.::

We...have met...

::One eyebrow poked upward against the edge of his bandana, his soft but incredulous tone of voice prodding for an explanation. Did Tamashii have an even worse lapse in memory? The hand fell from its spot in the air, drifting uncomfortably back down to the boy's side. Here I thought I was the one with the mental problem, he thought to himself over the awkward silence, unsure why the so-called Gate Keeper felt it necessary to introduce himself twice. Deity forgot things easily but he was sure it would take longer than a month. He thought it might, anyway. It was hard for one to know how long it took one's recollections to fade.

Not certain whether he should just carry on, wait for a response or what, the skinny Tonepian seemed to be as cold as the ice around him for a few moments. This was really strange.::

“O well then I guess we have.”

His hand returned to his side as he glanced down with a smile. His memory seems mostly intact, Exchange must have not gone as deep as I initial thought, motor functions seem intact as well as reasoning skills and compression. Still…something is missing. His mind working though the standard lists of signs to look for while he kept the conversation progressing.

“Well as I mentioned I am a Gate Keeper a position given to me by the Camerlato, the Being That Sees All where I come from. It is my job to hunt down souls who died and then where called back, such in your case but I am one of many. I specifically asked for this assignment since I know you. I have to ask you a few questions and some of them may be very confusing but I ask you try to think hard about it all. The first question is rather broad but I just need you to give me all the details I can fill in the rest. Do you remember anything between the last moments of the fight and then waking up in Club Orion? Any small detail is important.”
PostPosted: Wed Mar 31, 2010 8:15 pm

::In a case such as this - one party asking another to recount an important event, not to leave any detail unspoken - the typical response was to wait and afford the question careful thought. One had to replay the moments in their mind, relive them so to speak, and record anything specific or worthy of note. This time however, that wasn't the case. Deity knew exactly what he'd felt, before Tamashii had ever asked. What he'd felt had plagued him since he awoke, had pervaded his conscience ever since his father brought him back from the dead. What the boy had felt after his death had since made him reevaluate how much he value dhis own life.::

...nothing.

::The tall Orinian answered quickly if not softly, removing the other hand from his pocket as he did. Either hand tucked itself around his chest as he folded his arms in an attempt to keep his fingers warm. Deity spoke with no hesitance, nor urgency to hide the facts - he wasn't beating around the bush, he was telling the truth. The answer was constantly waiting at the tip of his tongue, like a prowling cat staking out a mouse's hole in the wall - even if nobody had yet asked him what death was like. All the questions rotated through why he wanted to fight Taliman, why he seemed to give up during the fight, why he didn't go all-out from the start. Either nobody was interested, or they were afraid to ask. Perhaps they were afraid of the answer.::

"Good."

His response was relaxed as if everything was ok. For Christ sake a man died, says he felt nothing and this was how the Devil responded? Truth be told Sama knew what it felt like to die in more ways then one and the feelings that went with it where odd sometimes, some people where unaware of what happened during their death but the fact that deity responded at all meant he remembered things. Fragments as they may be but the conversation to follow would tell the tale.

“Emotions are powerful spiritual forces, they build up with experience over time and when you die are removed from your soul so that the Force of the universe may continue to grow. Feeling nothing means that you exchange some of your memories and most of you old life feelings in order to pass to the afterlife, thus you where revived at the critical point of return and where brought back with a clean slate. Anything else and it would have been a disaster. Now the next question may be hard, do you remember anything about a Large Gate, black hands, or voices and if so did they touch you and if they spoke what did they say?”

::Very subtly shaking his head - even as the man of black was still speaking - seemed to be Deity's immediate form of response. Gates? Voices? Hands? None of this made any sense. The questions Tamashii was asking seemed to come out of some creepy voodoo handbook, which of course the quiet Orinian had no desire to pick up and read.

Again his response was quick - nearly inappropriately so - without any hesitation.::

No...no, nothing like that at all.

::His tone denoted that he felt the question was ridiculous. Of course I didn't see anybody, he thought, I was dead. If Samayou had asked what it was like to not be anywhere or anyone or anytime, that would've required some thought to answer. How do you describe not being? However - considering himself to be an atheist by nature - Deity didn't have any beliefs planted in the afterlife, the paranormal or any supreme beings. All of these things could be scientifically explained away in some manner. As far as he was concerned, death was the end of life - not a new channel through which life would continue. His own death did nothing if not prove his theory.::
