[Am I diseased?!]

Days had gone by like any other, some of her time spent looking around for Chubbs instead of actually doing what a normal teenager like her should be - playing videogames and watching TV. She haden't seen Alec in awhile either... which she found sort of disconcerting. Maybe she'd visit him today?

Yawning, Amaya moved about in her bed as she lay flopped on her stomach - inhaling deeply as she woke herself up.

After laying about for a little she finally dragged herself out of bed and stood up, stretching. Breakfast, basking, lunch, then visit Alec sounded like a nice start to the day.

With the sun shining down on the dew-covered leaves outside and through the crack between her curtains she shuffled towards the bathroom to go to the potty and then shower.

Time went by as she went through her morning routine. Though as she squirted some toothpaste on her rather worn toothbrush and looked in the mirror she paused.

... Wha?

Her brow furrowed and she pivoted her head to the side to better see around her eyes. Was she... turning... yellow...? Maybe she was sick? Toothbrush hanging from her large muzzle, she removed the towel wrapped around her reptilian form and checked herself over. From what she could see there were patches on her thighs and back turning yellow too.

... Oh... s**t...

Maybe she should consider doing a little more basking today. That always made her feel better.

... Yeah.

After regaining some movement in her body, Amaya had set about the daunting task of dragging the shark boy back to her duplex. Thankfully it wasn't far, but when your legs constantly gave out and you were trying to drag a grown boy that was taller than you at the same time, it became rather difficult.

But she had managed it, placing the punk on her bed before taking off towards the cafeteria and grabbing medical supplies. She did what she could with her jittery and spasming clawed hands, wiping off his face and bandaging it up. She did her best.

The lizard made sure he was comfortable, pouring water over his strange grey skin when it seemed to be drying out. Keeping his head propped up and comfortable.

Then all she could do was wait.

Amaya tried pacing the room, would sometimes look at him and sob dryly, and other times sit and watch over him as the day passed on. Eventually she succumbed to her wearyness, laying down on the bed next to him and waiting for Alec to wake up.

She didn't know why, but being close to him felt like the right thing to do.

During his stay in Amaya's room after the violent ordeal, Alec seemed to drift in and out of consciousness at sporratic moments. Most of the time it occurred while Amaya was sleeping or otherwise occupied, his eyes opening for a moment only to stare around confusedly before giving in to the black once again.

Eventually he gained the willpower to overcome to concussion-bound sleep and woke up fully for the first time since he sustained his injuries. At first he had no idea where he was, what day it was, or what exactly had happened. His details in his memories of the event in the Village were muddled and misplaced, making it hard for him to focus on anything. He found himself staring upwards at the ceiling as the sting of his swollen face slowly reminded him of what had happened, completely unaware of the body laying near him.

The girl had fallen asleep next to him on her stomach, though wouldn't stay that way for long. Her entire right leg spasmed, jolting her awake. Groaning, she opened up her oddly coloured eyes and noticed that Alec's eyes were open as well.

"Alec!" She grinned and hugged him before sitting up. "Are you okay? How're ya feeling?"

Alec kept staring at the blank surface above, unwilling to move even after the jolt of Amaya's leg ended in a kick to his thigh. He heard her sit up, only partially listening to what she was saying. Even the softest sound like the iguana girl's voice was painful from the shock.

"Like... shite." He responded flatly and hoarsely. His throat felt like sandpaper though thankfully his outer skin was apparently in much better condition.

Amaya frowned with a sigh, looking down at his bandaged face. "I bandaged you up the best I could, but I can't do much more..." She trailed off, looking forlorn at her lap. "I brought some painkillers though."

She slid off the bed, expecting he would want them. Gradually she made her way over to the minifridge, grabbing out a bottle of water and then getting the pills.

Unable to open up the top she simply pryed it open with her jaws and then dumped the right amount into her large palms. "I dunno what you were doing, but that a*****e punched you after doing... something to all of us. Making us paralyzed or something." Her arm spasmed, as if to clarify. "From the looks of it, it left everyone ******** up."

"Here." She held out the pills and water.

Alec winced as he got himself into a sitting position, the only pain that was bothering him was unfortunately centered around his entire head. He took the water but set the pills aside, a strong thirst for moisture was almost worse than the swelling. "Thanks." He mumbled and looked down at the pills that he'd left on the bed to his side like they were foreign and useless.

"A'm sorreh..." He began slowly, gripping the now-empty bottle in his hands. They were shaking still and he didn't know why. "Was me faul'. A' 'ope i' di'nt 'urt ye much." His voice remained low and unwavering, though he glanced over at the concerned iguana to see if she indeed was alright. God knows if the psycho went after bystanders, he wouldn't put it past him.

Augh, way to say the wrong thing.

"No, nono. Don't be sorry, you didn't do anything." Amaya smiled the only way her alien face could allow, one of her large hands going over the punk's to reassure him. "Just worry about yourself. Here."

She took the empty water bottle from him and got another, bringing it back over. "Take the painkillers, they'll help." Her leg muscle spasmed, but she tried to ignore it.

Alec smile half-heartedly, feeling somewhat awkward at how... strongly concerned Amaya was acting. It was good that she seemed to not want to hear any of his self-loathing thoughts given that he was practically filled to the brim at the time without anybody else's help. "Ye." He chuffed at her comment and reached for the pills, popping them into his mouth and swallowing them with difficulty. "don' worreh, a' am!"

Finally taking notice of Amaya's twitching, he wondered if she knew if the zap they'd received was the cause of it. "'ow come ye movin' like tha'?"

The girl sat down in the chair she had put next to the bed, watching him. Good. He seemed to be getting better already.

Her tail twitched and spasmed before going numb. She shifted uncomfortablly, trying to ignore it. "That phrase that made us all freeze, I think it messed with our bodies somehow. I can't stop twitching and sometimes I go numb. What about you, though?" He didn't seem to be twitching at all... then again, he had been punched in the face too.

Alec shrugged, suddenly at a loss for words on a possible explanation. "A' d'neh...mehbeh is delayed. On accoun' tha' am still seein two iguanas." He smirked genuinely, hardly kidding about his injuries though attempting to make light of them. "A still feel realleh cold." By cold he meant numb, possibly the head trauma had indeed delayed the after-effects.

"Funneh lil' trick 'e pulled..." The teen's voice fell flat, now bitterly unamused. What a giant ******** up.
