Name: Amaya Vaughan Nicknames: Punkie, Pumpkin, Little One (All used by her deceased father) Age: 16 Birthday: October 8th 1989 Birthplace: Nottingham, Pennsylvania (U.S) Family: Grandmother, Father, Mother (All deceased) Height: 5'0" Weight: 112lbs. Appearance: Being so short and lacking any figure whatsoever, Amaya is most of the time mistaken for two or so years younger. Even though she's still rather skinny and not 'chubby' per se she still has 'baby fat' on her that gives her more of a 'cute/ little sister' look rather then 'sexy'. It doesn't help that most of the time she keeps every portion of her body covered, either... and in layers. Having sort of a modesty problem, she is rarely seen exposing more then her arms at times when she wears t-shirts despite how hot it may be. Amaya is NEVER seen with make-up, only doing the necessary like brushing her teeth, combing her hair, ect. The silver locket around her neck never leaves her, save for when she takes a shower, in which it sits right outside and goes right back on once she's out. It holds a photo of her parents in one side and her grandmother in the other. Former Occupation: High school student Hobbies: Sewing, taking walks, listening to music, reading, playing videogames, watching horror flicks, keeping herself occupied no matter what, sleeping Likes: Miss-match outfits, the colours green & black, talking to others, goofing off, not acting her age, being treated like a small child, her parents & grandmother, cats & most animals, lounging around Dislikes: Angsty people, rap, chick flicks, boredom, the colours blue & pink, being alone, the dark, fighting/ yelling, the heat, cursing Personality: Despite her appearance, Amaya isn't filled with any teenage angst at all and tries her best to be a generally happy, positive person. She believes that the world is a bad enough place without all the brooding anger and needs people who are willing to 'shut up and hug'. Honest to almost a fault, she isn't afraid to voice her opinion on any matter or even point out that she dislikes a certain quality in someone and she believes that lying doesn't really solve anything or get anyone anywhere. Amaya also hates getting into fights and normally tries to pry the two bickering parties apart or somehow calm them down by either physically dragging one away from the other or resorting to crying. It takes a LOT to get her aggravated or angry and she normally never raises her voice unless to yell something positive. When she DOES get angry however, she seems like almost a completely different person; blowing up and screaming obscenities before storming off to somehow calm herself down and get back into a 'happy' state of mind. She also cries rather easily, whether if it's because someone else is crying, because some sort of nerve had been stuck, or just because she feels like crying. Amaya is considered 'weird' or 'strange' by many as well just because of the strange references or sometimes random sayings she says... like how a hermit crab reminds her of Kermit the Frog in some strange, twisted way. She also will point that out in the middle of the conversation, regardless if the subject is serious or not. Past: When Amaya was but a child at the age of six, she had gotten the horrible news that both of her parents were killed in a car accident. A drunk driver had hit them head on, killing them both instantly. This left her devastated and even though she still was under her grandmother's care, she fell into a deep depression despite her young age. She lived with her grandmother for around five years before she died of old age. Though before her only living family left passed away, she had taught Amaya that being sad and down won?t accomplish anything and only makes the world seem worse then it truly is. Her parents might be gone and she might be hurt and lonely, but that was no excuse to pass her pain and misery onto others. Even after her grandmother passed on and she was put into an orphanage, she did her best to live up to what her grandmother had taught her and sometimes seeks guidance from her deceased family; telling herself 'what would they want me to do?'. They would want her to be happy, so she tried her best to keep a positive demeanor. After staying at the orphanage for a large part of almost three years, she was informed of a group that took in orphaned teenagers and older children. They told her that she could have whatever she wanted, but she would have to choose either to stay at the orphanage... or go to this strange Island where the 'resort' was located. She chose the latter, wanting to try her hand at something new instead of waiting around the orphanage for a family that would never come...

Species: Green Iguana (Iguana Iguana)Location: The green iguana is found over a large geographic area, from Mexico to southern Brazil and Paraguay, as well as on the Caribbean IslandsAverage Length: 6-7ft. Two-thirds of it's body length is in it's tailHabitat: Green Iguanas live in tropical rainforest areas, generally in lower altitudes in areas near water sources, such as rivers or streams. They spend most of their time high in the forest canopy, about 40-50 feet above the ground.Diet: Green iguanas are omnivorous, so they eat both plants and meat. They tend to eat mostly plants, though, especially leaves and fruits. Sometimes green iguanas (especially young ones) will eat eggs, insects, and small vertebrates.Appearance: Full-grown green iguanas are usually between four and six feet, although they have been known to grow up to seven feet long. This includes the tail, however, which can make up about half the body length and, in addition to its green color, has black stripes. Green iguanas, not surprisingly, are green in color, but can be found in many different shade ranging from bright green, to a dull, grayish-green. Their skin is rough, with a set of pointy scales along the iguana's back. Green iguanas have long fingers and claws to help them climb and grasp.Adaptations: Besides the long fingers and claws mentioned above, green iguanas have many excellent interesting adaptations. Green iguanas have good senses of hearing and smell, and superb vision. Their long tail is also quite sharp, and is snapped in the air as a defense mechanism. The tail can also break off if caught by a predator, but grows back without permanent damage. Green iguana skin is very water resistant, and tough to avoid cuts and scratches. The coloring of the skin helps camouflage the green iguana, which means that they blend in easily to their surroundings to remain undetected by predators. If they are detected however, and need to escape quickly, these iguanas can dive from trees into water, and swim well. Green iguanas are quite sturdy-- they can fall 40-50 feet to the ground without getting hurt! Male green iguanas have a special flap of skin called the dewlap. Male iguanas can raise their dewlap to appear bigger than they really are, either to intimidate predators, or to impressive females. Both male and female green iguanas can store fat under their jaws and in their necks for times when there is not much food available.Reproduction: Green iguanas tend to live alone, but may be seen in groups occasionally in good sunny basking spots. Iguanas lay many eggs at a time (about 50), in holes in the ground called burrows. They also dig pretend burrows to confuse any animals that may be looking for eggs to eat. After female iguanas lay the eggs, they leave them and do not return. When iguana babies hatch, they grow up without care from their parents. Green iguanas lay many eggs, but only 3-10 babies actually survive to be adults. It takes green iguana eggs about 8-10 weeks to hatch, then takes baby iguanas about 2 years to become mature adults.Pictures: Blending in, Showing off for the ladehs ;D, Sexy stripes!, Mini dino! Thorn: ... I try to avoid her. Hargun: Was, and still is my best friend... but I haven't seen her in so long... Greer: My mother figure. I don't see her much anymore, but when I do I always greatly enjoy her company. Mister Dude: He was one of the first people I met on the island and is a wonderful guy... but I haven't seen him in so long. I wonder if something happened to him... Cassidy: One of the few other reptiles on the island that I can really relate to. I feel bad for being so depressed when she's the one loosing her legs along with... other things. I feel like she's the only one I can go to to talk about reptile issues. Ambrose: My "big brother" of sorts. Another one of the first people I met on the island. Thankfully I still see him around, though not as much as I'd like to. Recently he seems to just stay with his girlfriend Angelina... I haven't really sought him out since she seems frightened of me... Vasile: Despite being an actor and the wrap that they're all snobby and stuff, Vasile is actually a really nice guy. One day we actually got to sit down and just talk and we got to know each other a little bit. I should talk to him more often. Timothy: Seems like a good enough guy. Don't see him around much though. Ian: A really nice guy and a great conversationalist... or at least I think so. Ever since his 2nd transformation he talks weird and even though it's strange I don't mind it. Emerwyn: I don't see her much, but she's a wonderful soul and allowed me to vent to her. Colche: She seems a few years older then me, but she had the mind of a small child... I can't even begin to comprehend what she must have gone through and I feel really bad for her. Even though I hate it here as do a lot of people, I'm glad she was brought here instead of staying in the hell of a life she must have had prior. Now I've taken the role of her big sister. Julian: I feel so bad for him... after his change he developed split-personality disorder since he was pretty... on edge when he came here. I really want to get the know the real him, not The Cheshire Cat, his split-personality. For some reason Cheshire rubs me the wrong way... Though I haven't seen him in such a long time. Awen: I really appriciate Awen's escape attempt, but was glad that she didn't end up really hurt... though she seems to be getting more and more on the doctor's side. Hopefully that won't effect our friendship. Jamal: I've only seen him a handful of times, but he doesn't seem ALL that bad. I mean, aside from the whole gangster mean black guy... thing. As long as you don't rub him the wrong way he's a good guy. Emelyn: I haven't seen her much since the lockout and I know that her and Ambrose are on thin ice now... Angelina seems to have a vendetta out for her though. I had to play peacemaker the whole time. Haven't seen her since... hope she's alright. Joliette: Another reptile it seems. She's also dateing Chubbs! They seem like a good couple... Anjali: A really nice and pretty woman who I met on the beach one day. She says that they were turning her into a plant of all things. I really hope it just... fails, but I haven't seen her in a very long time. Chubbs: Another big brother of mine. He's such a great guy, despite the tenacity in him now that he's farther along in his change. But I know he'd never hurt me. Angelina: I don't really know her, aside from the fact that she's Ambrose's girlfriend. All she seems to do is cling to him and not talk to anyone else. Is she shy? Scared of us? Thinks she's better? I dunno... but from the looks she gives me I think she sees me as repulsing... not that I blame her... Avery: He seems like an alright guy, though rather upset that he washed up on this island. Can't blame him though. I haven't seen him in awhile... wonder how he's doing. Chana: ... I don't like her. I'll leave it at that. Kim: A really nice woman. I don't see her around much, but I enjoy her company. Seems she's turning into something cold-blooded too. Lily: Helped me out when I was about to freeze to death. Major props. I wonder how she's doing now... Madison: I didn't talk to her, but she was around when Lily and Chubbs saved me... seems kind... weird. Rayana: I really don't know anything about her... Haven't seen her in a long time either. Rex: A really good guy. Kinda attractive too. I wish he haden't ended up on a place like this though... Stewart: ... I'm... not a demon... damnit. Zach: He... tried to attack me... Chubbs saved me though. But I don't want to come across him again. Pyroth: I feel sorry for him since it appears he's more animalistic then any of us. Good guy though. Nita: I've only talked to her a handful of times, but she seems to be taking things well and is a nice person. Didn't freak out over my apperance or anything. Kaveri: I saw her at the beach bar one night, but I never got her name. Fiona: I think I saw her at the beach bar too. Bobby: A really nice woman, but she's turning into a pig... and I think she had a family back on the mainland. I feel so bad for her. Antony: I... just don't want to run into her again... Alec: We went off to a rough start, but after he appologized we started to hit it off. Were pretty good friends now and I think he's turning into a shark... Kinda hot too. Shut up.

Amaya lives in the upstairs Duplex #20. Unlike the other rooms, it doesn't seem as bland and dreary and holds a lot of personal touch. Movie posters litter the walls such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hellboy, Constantine, and Van Hellsing. The desks and countertops are littered with random paraphernalia as well such as:+ A sewing kit overflowing with thread, needles, and wads of unused fabric + Multiple stuffed animals, most looking to be tigers or cats along with different creations she herself has made that have a very 'rag doll' appearance. Most of which are things like spiders, cats, dogs, ect. + A few figurines, most having something to do with her birthstone; some even chipped and cracked + A few stacks of books including shorter, lower grade books like: Dragon & Thief, Witch Child, Numbering all the Bones, Reef of Death, & Scared Stiff + A large, framed photo of a five year old Amaya along with her mother, father, and grandmother on her bed-stand + A bright orange, unmarked, hardback book with a lock on it (Her diary) + A sketchbook along with multiple pens and pencils + A pair of black reading glasses + A large, filled, CD case She also has a small, orange, pumpkin-shaped bookbag that zips at the top. It contains: + Her CD-player & headphones + Paper and pens + Spare fabric, some thread, and a few needles + A mini, fold-up umbrella + Anything else she can think of to shove into it at the time Though her most prized possession by far is the silver locket that is never seen anywhere but around her neck. It contains a picture of her parents on one side and her grandmother in the other. Besides the above and toiletries, she also brought all of the clothes she owns at the time. Some of her outfits don't match at all, where as others do. Most of the time she dresses in whatever fits her after her changes. '05 Christmas Gifts Joliette gave her this wonderful snapshot of the sunset on the island.
Ambrose made Amaya this carved, wooden pumpkin that was even painted to look like one! It also opens up at the top to store things in.
Hargun made this adorable little clay lizard for her!

First Injection: Shortly after Amaya arrived on the island she got a standard 'immunization' for the Island's local diseases. A rather horrifying dream was the result. (Page 3) Second Injection: Given the second injection while she was sleeping, she suffered another horrible dream before transforming. (Page 4) Third Injection: Given the third while she was asleep, she suffered another horrible, yet very strange nightmare before changing again. (Page 6) Fourth Injection: Oddly enough, Amaya appears to have no injection mark after her third change. Due to being stranded outside, she suffered the transformation without sleeping prior and ended up running into a fellow islander as the changes occured. (Page 12)

Amaya Vaughan Amaya clenched the end of the seat tightly, her fingers turning white with the pressure. She hated flying. Hated it. Of course, this was her first time on a plane or... helicopter rather, but from the get-go she could tell she wasn't going to like it. The thought of plummeting to her death didn't exactly make her laugh. Every now and then she would reach over and check the belt buckle subconciously to make sure she was strapped in tightly. The pumpkin-shaped bookbag she wore with small belongings say by her side and the large dufflebag filled with her clothes had been stored across from her and was strapped in somehow to keep it from sliding all over the place.
Bright green eyes traveled up to met the back of the pilots head. She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped herself as he stomach gave a quick lurch. Silence bugged her, but she just couldn't bring herself to start up a conversation and looked down at her lap in defeat.
This whole... thing seemed pretty weird. Sure, they had adopted her and told her she would be living on an ISLAND with whatever she wanted but... did things like this really happen in life? It sounded too good to be true. A worried whine escaped her throat before she could stop it, large eyes still looking down at her boots. Lauren Granger Lauren went to pick up Moreau's new specimen, an Amaya from what she was told. She was instructed to dress nice and professionally for this one... amongst other things. And so she obeyed like a good daughter, dressed in a professional yet stylish black suit with a red shirt underneath and high heel shoes. In the passenger seat there was a suitcase with some information about Amaya inside of it. The jeep aproached the place where the helicopter had landed. Lauren walked out and welcomed Amaya with a.... hug? "Welcome Amaya" The tall skinny young blonde said rather nicely. "It's so good to see you here. Was your flight pleasant?" There was no sign of the real Lauren behind this facade and somehow it seemed she kind of liked being nice to someone. Amaya Vaughan The young girl shakily stepped off of the helicopter, her luggage in tow. Upon seeing someone who looked rather young, she smiled and returned the hug that was given to her openly without any hesitation. "Uh... not really, sadly. Never flown before." She laughed nervously and adjusted the strap of her small bookbag she was wearing. Lauren Granger Lauren smiled back, "Sorry to hear that, but your here on the ground now at least." She laughed a bit. "I need to take you for a short trip to our medical facilities. All people arriving at the island need to recieve innoculations." She frowned a bit, "I know... very unpleasant but better than getting ill from tropical diseases." Her blonde hair was tied back neatly which caught her offguard when she went to brush it back with her fingers after this. But she continued smiling as she walked over to the jeep. "Oh and by the way I'm Lauren! You'll love it here." Lauren opened the car door and sat down in the drivers seat. She was also instructed to drive... a little slower. Geese this was hard. But at least, she seems nice enough Lauren thought to herself. At least she isn't some spoiled bratAmaya Vaughan "Yeah, being on solid ground is definatly a comfort." Amaya shuddered as she automatically put her dufflebag in the back of the jeep. "Y'mean a shot? Uagh..." After making sure he bag wouldn't slide all over the place, she got into the passenger's seat and immediantly buckled it and pulled on it to make sure it was fastened; a habit she had got ever since her parents accident.
"Never been one for shots. Scared to death of them, actually..." She laughed slightly, catching herself before she started to ramble. "S'nice to meet you, Lauren. Do you work here?" Her hand reached up to fiddle with her silver locket and make sure it was still there, a smile on her face now that she was on solid ground. Lauren Granger God these clothes are uncomfortable... Was a repeated thought in Lauren's mind. She smiled compassionately at the question. "Yes, unfortunately a shot. It will be quick and painless then you will be shown to your very own room! It's great, I spend most of my time at the beach here." Her grin was slightly more fake but not noticiable. "I understand your fears, I hate them myself but sometimes you have to tough those kind of things out." Once in the car she sat down and looked perky at Amaya's other question, "Yeah, kind of. I'm sort of an intern for the medical lab. Doc Moreau took me in." The professional tone in her voice set aside for a bit but she still sounded really nice and kind. It wasn't hard after all she was nice inside but bringing it genuinely to the surface was tough. The Jeep traversed down the road through the jungle path past much tropical vegetation and wild life. Some colorful birds flew overhead at one point cawing at each other. A small monkey ran across the road as Lauren hit on her breaks looking worried, "Sorry about that." She said apologetically as she waited for the monkey to pass. "He was soo cute." She smiled and continued on the road. They finally reached the lab where the gates opened for the jeep. Lauren parked the jeep getting out to help Amaya down. The labs towered overhead. "This is our medical facility where I intern. I'll be in the room when you get your shot, since you are scared. Sometimes it's nice to have someone there for ya." She really meant it too. This nice thing wasn't too hard with Amaya for some reason. Lauren had a good sense for people and knew she's been through lots of pain. She walked Amaya to the entrance. Amaya Vaughan "Not much of a beach person, or heat for that matter. Grew up in the sticks so I'm kind of more adapted to the cold and such." She waved a hand slightly, then stopped once she heard "Doc Moreau took me in." Amaya looked over at her, voice lower and less happy then it had been seconds before. "So your an orphan too?" God, she hoped she didn't interperate that wrong but... oh well. Too late now.
As the jeep screeched to a stop in the middle of the road she clenched the front of her seat, letting out a slight scream. "SONOFACRAP." Eyes wide she glared over at the monkey. "... Friggin' monkey."
She was beyond glad for the ride to be over as the pulled into the gates, unbuckling herself and following Lauren. Her eyes were mostly upward, looking at the large medical facility. "... Wow, huge..." Amaya had seen cities before and stuff but had never really ventures in one. Lauren Granger Lauren's emotions came out a second, but still no anger and nothing resembeling the harshness of her normal facade, "Yeah.. I geuss you could say that. He saved me from the streets though." Her face lit up, "It's real nice having a place of my own." Lauren smiled at Amaya's reaction to the lab, "Yeah, great isn't it?" Was all she said. Of course she was impressed. She led the younger girl past the nice lobby, through the halls and into the elevator. "Floor 8" Lauren said as the elevator sped up seemingly too quickly. "Nice to meet someone like me." She said grinning. She really meant that one Amaya kind of reminded her of one of her street friends... that was before... She shook that memory away. No use thinking of the dead. The elevator door opened as they entered lab room 8 "You'll like the doc, he's really nice and buys me whatever I want." Looking away she kind of played with her jacket nervously. "Having what I want is nice for a change, going without for so long." As Lauren saw the doc she shot a secret look of I hate this get up... these heels are KILLING me! before smiling again at Amaya. Doctor Moreau "Welcome back Lauren. Of course you too Amaya. It's good to have you here." Moreau smiled his most winning smile. He was tall, red haired, and fairly attractive, for his age of course. "Sit on that table and we'll take care of your injection. After that Lauren will show you to your duplex." Moreau walked over to his cabinet and looked at his selections. Perhaps something... reptilian? He only had one of those. Amaya Vaughan "Yeah, I can imagine..." Amaya smiled at Lauren and followed her out of the elevator. Upon seeing Doctor Moreau she was... not expecting that in the least. He looked kinda young for a doctor... musta been pretty smart or something. She gave a nervous smile and nodded. "Mmkay." After taking a seat on the table she shivered and rubbed her arm, knowing what was soon to come. Her feet swung off the table and kicked back and forth out of habit. Lauren Granger "Thanks Doc" Lauren said as she crossed her arms, sitting back and waiting for the shot to be over. She gave him a huge smile as he grabbed for the vial wondering what this one was going to be. She couldn't wait to see Amaya change. "It'll be alright Amaya, ya won't feel a thing." She said as she leaned against a nearby wall waiting patiently her eyes taking in the entire process reminding herself just how to give the shots properly. It was always good to keep the memory sharp since she was rusty. But did she ever wish that her hands were on that needle, injecting the poor girl with a serem that would change her life... forever. The very thought gave her rather pleasant goose bumps. Doctor Moreau Moreau inserted his chosen serum into a needle and walked back towards Amaya. I bet Lauren would have liked this more than what she got. Moreau grinned at that and pulled Amaya's sleeve up and inserted the needle. "You'll be in Duplex 20, an upstairs duplex. You can find food and anything else you need in the central building. Of course Lauren should be able to help you with anything, she's in Duplex 10." Moreau patted Amaya on the back. "Lauren can show you out. Oh, also the innoculations can cause some discomfort and bad dreams the night after. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your time here." Amaya Vaughan Amaya looked away the second he approached with the needle, not wanting to watch. Once it was inserted, she gave a startled 'meep' and physically shuddered. Once it was all over she immediantly pulled her sleeve back down and gave the doctor a pressed smile. "Alright, thanks." She reached up and fiddled with her necklace a little bit while getting down from the table and walking over to Lauren. Lauren Granger The scrawny blonde girl in the suit led Amaya to the elevator again down outside the building. "See wasn't that bad now was it?" She smiled pleasently. "You'll like your place, Duplex 20 huh? We will have to hang out sometime, grab a bite to eat or something." God... this social thing was hard but she watched and was instructed on how to do so. She could remember being a happy social teenager...once. Lauren walked across the parking lot as the gate opened for them. "Only authorised personal inside the lab I'm afraid but I'm not here all the time, just for my 'medical' studies." A slight laugh escaped her lips. Medical studies... well some sort of front would have to be there for now. Amaya Vaughan "Eh, guess not." Amaya gave a shrug, shivers still going up her spine from the needle. She rubbed the spot subconciously. "Sure, I'd love to." She smiled back at Lauren and followed her, not knowing exactly what to do now. Lauren Granger The doc has taste in those he trust Lauren thought as they walked the short distance to the town. A bunch of duplexes surrounded them dotted with palm trees and other native flora. "Ah here we are... excited about your new flat?" Lauren asked rather friendly. She went to walk up the stairs. "I'd love to stay around but ya got some unpacking to do and I have lessons to go back to." Lauren's hand reached out holding a key that had the number twenty engraved upon it. "So... here we are, sleep well although personally I think the dreams from those shots suck a**." more of the crass rude Lauren was emerging but only her true attitude. She probably would remain being nice to Amaya cause she took a likeing to the girl. Sure the doc told her to be nice but after a while it paid off. That doc sure knew what he was talking about. "If you need anything, there's a call button for you to reach staff or you can call me, just dial pound then the duplex number on your phone." She bit her lip trying to remember everything the doc told her. Made up and in those heels she looked like a lithe model, the anorexic kind people try their hardest to be. "Ah and meals are served in the cafeteria so we should get together for lunch sometimes or you could just stay in your room and have them ordered which is fun when ya feel lazy or need a break from people. I know I do every now and again." She waited for Amaya's response hoping the charade would pay off like the doc had planned. Amaya Vaughan "God, yeah. Almost anything'll beat that crappy orphanage." Amaya nodded and took the key, looking up at Lauren as she instructed her on where things were and how things worked. "Gotcha." She stuck the key in the lock and opened the door, giving Lauren one last wave. "I'll see ya around Lauren, it was nice meeting you and thanks for everything."
