The day after the beach bonefire, Amaya was in particularly high spirits. She wandered out from the cafeteria and a slightly early lunch and then into the jungle. Last time she had bumped into Thom and hadn't ever really gotten a good chance at basking like she had hoped... but maybe today would be different.
Finding a decent tree, the nude green iguana climbed up it easily and sprawled herself across a thick branch about 10 feet above ground. Ahh... sun...

She'd been quiet a while, not to mention away from teh duplex, she'd yet to have gone back to it, the jungle had some alluring sense of 'home' to the Komodo inside her. She lumbered throught he underbrush her tongue flickering in her search for food, she did stop sensing nearby movement and she lifts her head more to look around with her golden eyes for it's source

Amaya's peace seemed to be snapped in two as the sound of something trudging through the brush caught her attention. Her strange brown and yellow eyes snapped open and her hands and feet gripped the branch.
She hunted the ground below for what caused the noise, sniffing and tongue flickering the try and pick up the scent. It was familiar... but only very slightly. The girl tensed as she caught the sight of Joliette a couple of yards away, not recongizing her in the slighest.

Joliette lifts a hand and scratches at her neck a lil with her claws before peering more. The scent was familiar, to some extent at least. she only had on the remainder of a skirt she'd taken to wearing after the change previous to the one she had last had and it in itself wasn't overly clean it had dirt all over it. She sits up and sits down on her bottom, a task becoming very much more difficult as she changed "Presense near" she said softly speaking to herself as she debated her next move

The reptile pressed low to the branch, unable to hear Joli's muttering. Her tail slowly raised up onto it as well. Camoflauge. Thank god she blended almost perfectly into the foliage around her.

Her tongue flickering she scans the area more thuroughly, something told her while it may be prey, the familiar scent should mean not hte RIGHT kind of prey "Hello?" she spoke a lil louder then her previous words

Amaya blinked, her head tilting to the side. It was a person... who didn't seem feral. That was always good. But with how quiet her voice had become, she doubted even if she yelled that the other lizard would hear her. So instead she stood up on all fours, toes wrapped around the tree branch.
Tail raising for balance, one of her arms raised and waved in her direction.

One eye catching movement she turns her snout towards the movement and then notices the lizard. It took a moment, but then it clicked "Amaya? Hello" she spoke lumbering towards the tree more her voice wasn't overly loud, that came from not using it much save to talk to herself

The teen headbobbed in her own version of a nod and then moved down a couple of branches so she could be in view and also able to talk to her without forcing herself to shout. "Yeah, s'me." Her head tilted to the side as she tried to place who it was... but couldn't for the life of her. "Uhm..."

Joliette strained to hear the low tones of Amaya's words and frowned inwardly when she found she missed half of them. "Sorry, my hearing isn't what it used to be" she says coming to a stop next to the tree, her tongue flickered unconsiously as she looked up at Amaya "Sun basking?"

Amaya frowned and climbed down the rest of the way to stand on the ground next to her. "Sorry, I can't seem to talk much louder then this. But I know what you mean." Her own hearing wasn't at all the best either. "And yes... uh..." Head cocking to the side, she continued to try and place who she was talking to. Someone turning into a lizard. Brown hair. Then it hit her.
"Joliette...?" Her eyes widdened and the tiny dewlap under her chin extended.

Joliette's eyes lowered to the jungle floor when Amaya recognized her and she nods. "Oui c'est moi" she silently cursed the red haired gormless arse in her mind, she hated her apperance but knew she had no control and hated that feeling too.

The iguana's expression turned more sad. "I'm sorry..." She looked down as well, her long fingers fumbling with one another. "I know how you feel though. If it's any consolation." Loosing ones face was a horrible experiance.

She gives Amaya a weak smile, if one could tell it was a smile... "Yeah I know, thankfully none of us go through this alone" she looks up at her friend "Least I dont think we do, theres some I've not seen in a long while though" her tongue flickered once more as she spoke and she fought her inner instincts to hunt "You haven't been alone have you?"

Amaya headbobbed slightly, her tongue flickering. "Same here... and no, I haven't been alone. For the most part." There had been a long period of time where she wouldn't come out of her duplex and only let Alec see her, but now she was doing her best to get over that. "What about you?"
