Since guardian cats can now get alt art...

If a guardian cat is made and then later joins a court, is that guardian cat eligible to get alt art with the court's symbol in place of their star? Is this covered in the 10% rule or does it require a PM to the mule separate from the court proposal?

The Court Symbol does not count as a 10% change for alt art, but it does require a PM to the mule just so we can keep up with things! If the Mauvian joins the Court after the initial Approval PM, we will need the players of the Court (or the player of the Mauvian the Court has approved to join them) to update us on the situation so we can keep track of this. If the Court already knows which Mauvian is going to be in their Court, they can simply include this information in their original PM and no follow up PM is required--unless they intend to add another Mauvian at some point, but the Court would need to have grown fairly substantially to permit another Mauvian.

In the instance of characters that use medical aids as civilians (like prosthetics, braces, or glasses), how to these items interact with the rules around glamour and henshin as they pertain to refreshing? For instance, if character A has glasses while both civilian and powered, and during a fight, their glasses get smashed, if they power down and back up are the glasses restored because they count as part of the uniform, or are they still smashed when they power down because they were, in fact, still their civilian glasses, just under glamour?

Or more specifically, if Zircon is put in a situation where someone removes her prosthetic leg while powered up, does she still have a prosthetic when she powers down or is that her civilian leg, just done up with a glamour? If she were to power up after the leg theft, would the prosthetic be replaced?

And is this a one-size-fits all scenario, or is it up to player discretion what counts as the character's body/constant between power-ups and downs vs part of the costume that gets changed?

If a character has some sort of prosthetic or device used for aid while they are a civilian, when they power up they will have a ‘powered’ version of that item—meaning, they will have a device that functions in the same way but is different from their civilian version. If Character A has their powered glasses smashed during a fight and later powers down, their normal glasses will still be on their face and in tact (Assuming they powered up while wearing them). Additionally, if they then powered up again, due to the restorative nature of powered uniforms, their ‘powered glasses’ would be restored.

If Zircon loses her powered leg while powered up, when she powers down she will still have her civilian prosthetic. If she powers up again, she will have a restored prosthetic limb—unless you have a plot you want to pursue. An example of this is, if it is stolen then you have the option of either saying that the thief now permanently has it or when she powers up again, it is taken from them and restored to her. Players also have the option of letting characters keep parts of their character’s uniform even if they are restored, so theoretically the thief could have a prosthetic leg of hers from her powered uniform, and it could be restored when she powers up, so there are then two prosthetics—the one she has equipped and the one that was stolen. If you have a specific plot in mind, please feel free to PM us and we can go over anything to help!

When someone is on their homeworld/wonder, do they need to stay powered up, or can they be in their civilian form?

A character should typically not power down while they are on their wonder; their bond is strongest while they are powered up, and if they power down they risk being rejected and sent back to Destiny City. Most homeworlds and wonders can be very dangerous if a Senshi or Knight has first started to visit, but they will generally become safer/more habitable over time. While they can pwoer down, we generally ask that the character visiting their homeworld or wonder not power down flippantly. Their guests may power down, or they may even bring civilians with them, but the character who is on their homeworld should remain powered as often as possible and should not be planning on taking leisurely civilian visits to their homeworld.

If a Knight ancestor / other SilMil character used sign language, would it be vaguely understandable by modern-day characters who understand American Sign Language or would it be a complete mystery to them?

This is dependent on the circumstances; typically we say that past life ancestors speak in a common tongue that allows present day incarnations to understand them/their memories of the past, so if a character in the past could only speak sign language and their present day incarnation understood sign language, they could communicate in that manner! Whatever language they communicate in, the past life ancestor should not be able to teach the present day incarnation any language that would allow them to decipher any ancient languages, but this is only to ensure we don’t wind up in a situation where there are canon or meta inconsistencies. But, it would be fair to substitute speaking ‘common’ for speaking a common sort of sign language in order to communicate!

Two-part question!

1) Is there a limit to how old people could have gotten in their past lives? Like, the longevity of races?

2) Is there a max age someone could reach as a senshi that, after that point, they can no longer transform? This more pertains to past life, and in connection to the idea of is there a point due to racial longevity that they could 'age out' of being a senshi--that is, unable to transform into a senshi, but still being that senshi.

2b) I guess an offshoot of that then, if there is an age when they can no longer access their senshi powers, does this affect anything? The world, the starseed, the senshi, etc.? This obviously becomes void if there is not a point that anyone can age out of accessing their senshi powers!

There is not necessarily a limit on the oldest a player in the past could have gotten; theoretically in times of prosperity when a world’s starseed was strong, the people of that world could have lived longer lives. However, in order to assure there are no inconsistencies in meta or canon information, no character should have existed/been older than the canon character/prominent characters in the Silver Millennium.

There is not necessarily a maximum age that someone could reach as a Senshi that prevents them from transforming; theoretically a player could decide that this is something that occurs in their character’s race, such as their body becoming too weak to maintain the transformation, or losing the ability to focus enough to transform or use their magic.

It would be player choice if they wanted their Senshi to no longer have access to their powers, but we would request that the player PM us to discuss this! There would be no natural side effects (it would be no different than if a Senshi simply didn’t power up), unless the player wants there to be some issues that arise. Some players may have decided that their Senshi performs important duties on the planet and, if they could not access their Senshi form, may not be able to complete their duties, thus causing problems with the stability of the world. These are all hypothetical situations and would be player choice that we would try to work with them on, but naturally there is no enforced age when a Senshi cannot power up, and there would not naturally be forced repercussions for a Senshi or homeworld if the Senshi did not power up.

Here's a question I'm sure has been answered somewhere before: When doing a sideswap and an upgrade at the same time (lieutenant purifying into squire), does the actual purification RP count as the last RP for the upgrade, or the first at the upgraded stage? Or does it even matter? XD

This is entirely dependent on preference! Some people prefer to use it for growth towards the next stage and some do not. The character must have completed art and an approved plot before they can begin the purification/growth upgrade RP, so at this point in time players have completed all ‘required’ roleplays for that stage. As long as the roleplay is finished and contains at least 500 words it can be counted towards the next stage of growth (if the player wishes to use it!)

One of my Captains is in the process of searching for a youma to bond with and I was hoping for some clarification regarding the dark and mysterious Rift.

  • I know with the massive amount of information that we have that things can get archaic and potentially outdated, but is the Hall of Shadows still the only way an agent can get in and out of the Rift? Could there potentially be pockets or portals in which to access it at this point? Can agents teleport in/out of the Rift at will or must they use the Hall?

  • As well, are youma's departure from the Rift only through the Hall of Shadows entryway or can they teleport themselves to and from Destiny City at will to terrorize it? Are there other ways for PC/disposable youma to get to Destiny City on their own or do they need escort through the Hall to get out?

  • When youma are dusted they return to the Rift to reform, correct?

  • Can Captains/Generals summon their personal youma directly from the Rift without having to physically fetch them?

Thank you so much and I apologize for any redundancy.

The Hall of Shadows is still the only way for any human agent (including half youma) to get into the Rift. It is impossible to teleport at all while in the Rift; you cannot teleport in, out, or from one location in the Rift to another location.

Youma are not bound by entry or exit through the Hall of Shadows; they can be summoned out of the Rift and will simply disappear from wherever they were in the Rift and reappear to where they are being summoned. They do not need an escort! Similarly, when they are ready to return to the Rift or when they are dusted, they simply appear at a location within the Rift. In most instances, it will be the location they are most familiar with, and will be somewhat close to the Hall of Shadows/Negaspace. Youma are not typically returned to the depths of the Rift when dusted.

Captains and Generals simply have to summon their youma and do not have to manually fetch them! They will channel some of their energy to pull the youma from the Rift to their location.

Apologies if this has been asked/answered before but;

Can Captains/Corrupt Supers teleport others with them? If so, how many can they reasonably teleport with them before being too exhausted?

Additionally, what is around the average amount of people that a General/Corrupt Eternal can teleport with them without exhausting them completely?

Captains/Corrupt Supers may be able to teleport others with them, however this is entirely dependent on experience. A new captain can barely teleport themselves but with experience and through RP they can become more competent. An experienced Captain (or one that is close to growth, for example) may be able to teleport up to one other person with them without being too exhausted, but would feel very winded or exhausted if they tried to teleport two. If a plot requires it, we can try to work out something with a player, but we recommend trying to keep in mind that while a Captain may become comfortable teleporting themselves, even taking one passenger could exhaust them. They should not try to take more than two and would be very fatigued at that (and may suffer from exhaustion or pass out).

Similarly, the amount of people a General or Corrupt Eternal could take with them is dependent on experience. A new third stage should not be teleporting a lot of people comfortably, but could easily take two people with them. They could take up to four, but when starting off it would be reasonable to expect that they would be exhausted or very tired from doing so. An experienced General, or at least one that has practiced their teleporting, could comfortably take up to four people with them without being exhausted. They may feel tired, as if they have run a marathon, but would still be able to function. Any more than that, while possible, would rapidly deplete their energy. Even an experienced General trying to teleport five people could result in fatigue and exhaustion. If you need to teleport a large group of people for a specific purpose or event, please PM the mule and we can work something out with you!

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I went back quite a few pages and couldn't find it! u_u

Can a Mauvian be allowed to create Mautech versions of common household items? Like, for example, a Mautech Roomba - maybe it's just more efficient than your standard Roomba in that it empties itself or it's self-charging. Or maybe a Mautech blender that has more settings than most blenders you'd find in a store!

I was just thinking about cute, non-important items or upgrades to existing items that Mauvians might be able to perform. Maybe they can make your vacuum cordless or your hairdryer have better heat settings or a timer?

Thank you very much!

Mauvians can create their own technologically improved versions of things and don’t generally require permission unless it is magical or weaponized. For example, making hairdryer have better heat settings or a timer wouldn’t require permission, but making a hairdryer shoot fire would need permission.

Even Mauvians who live on the street could theoretically pick through the garbage and not be suspected of anything, and then just run off with their parts to a safe place or Mau headquarters. So, even if they don’t have a home, it shouldn’t be too hard for a Mau to tinker and create their own Mautech version of things.

If you'd like to create something with a magical element or for potential use as a weapon, please send your plot to the mule for approval and we'd be happy to review it.

Why are there no Moon Knights?

ICly, this is something that will eventually be revealed through meta/canon information!

OOCly, when Knights were first made, the shop elected to create Cosmos Knights instead.

Not that it would ever be relevant, but out of curiosity: is it possible for an Ascendant Corrupt Senshi (i.e. Alkaid) to rank up after ascending, or is their ruined starseed and world a permanent power limiter at whatever stage they are at time of ascension?

Just like when a senshi or knight transcends, it is possible for a corrupt senshi to ascend while at super stage but we encourage players to wait until third stage to ascend/transcend due to the level of character development and faction commitment that comes with the character giving themselves up to their world/Chaos. It would be more likely for them to ascend while at eternal stage but with an appropriately approved plot, a corrupt super could ascend and then later have their starseed adapt to host more power, promoting to eternal stage.

I'm sorry to ask this again! From what I've heard lately, I think this may need some at-large clarification:

In past events, GM-involved and otherwise, trying to starseed a transcendent senshi has caused significant blowback as to make it impossible. I think a few plots have also been based around this aspect. However, I have also heard and have also been told that starseeding a transcendent senshi is, in fact, possible, just a little more difficult!

I was wondering: Is this blowback typical, functionally making starseeding impossible, or can transcendent senshi actually be starseeded? I see here that it says: "If a Negaverse Agent were to stick a hand in a Transcended character's chest with the intention of removing their starseed or filling it with Chaos, that Agent would be repelled by a burst of energy—a moderate shock or burn as a knock-back effect," but I'd like to get this clarified for everyone considering what I've been told!

Thanks so much!

Trying to pull a Transcended starseed will always have some blowback, however it can be plotted for. Ordinarily, in all instances where someone attempts to pull a Transcended character’s starseed, the starseed has a natural defense mechanism that will reject the Chaos from interacting with it in all instances, be it corruption or an attempt to pull it—however—there are instances where a player may decide that this doesn’t benefit the plot they are pursuing and wants to have a Negaverse Agent interact with their character’s starseed in some way.

A few hypothetical situations may include if the Negaverse agent demands their starseed to save the lives of three others, or if the Transcended character has not been keeping up with their required visits/has committed some sin or crime or act of insult while on their homeworld/wonder and their bond is lessened; these are not guaranteed instances that a starseed may be interacted with, but a player may choose to forego the natural protection of their starseed ICly for plot purposes.

If a player wants to have their Transcended character’s starseed pulled, they will need to send in a plot. It is possible for a Chaos character to pull a Transcended starseed, but it should not be assumed that this should happen naturally. We will work with players to accommodate the plots they want their characters to undergo, so there are just a few things to be aware of if you intend to send in a plot to have your Transcended character’s starseed pulled:

The Transcendence will naturally protect the starseed from forced corruption or pulling a starseed, but there are many ways for the Transcended character’s defenses to become compromised, either personally or by action on their homeworld/wonder. Pulling their starseed will cost more energy from the agent pulling it, so it is more likely that a General could pull a Transcended starseed than a Captain. Lieutenants do not have the finesse or expertise to pull a Transcended character's starseed. The extra pressure exerted on the starseed while pulling it in this way may cause starseed damage upon plotting. The starseed could naturally enact the blowback safety mechanism to try and protect itself, but it is possible that in some instances there is little to no resistance to the starseed beyond requiring a little extra strength to move. Once outside of the body, the starseed would naturally try to return to the body with a bit more insistence than the starseed of someone who wasn’t Transcended and, due to the extra power of a Transcended and their homeworld/wonder, a Transcended character and their starseed may be able to survive outside of the normal two week window.

We have both a Sailor Tama and a Mauvian Tama; these characters have existed for a bit, but I recall being told to rename Sailor Ophelia when obtained via crown tokens because Mauvian Ophelia already existed -- and that senshi could not share names with mauvians at that time (prior to either Tama existing). Has this rule been disregarded?

This rule has not been disregarded! The Mauvian's approved name is 'Hoshi-no-Tama', but he goes by the nickname 'Tama' ICly. If the Mauvian unlocks his senshi form, he would be the Mauvian Senshi, Sailor Hoshi-no-Tama, so there is no overlap.

It is my understanding that Royals can only be corrupted willingly, is that correct?

On that vein, if a PC Prince/Princess corrupts, what would happen to their knights (if they had them)? Would more still be capable of appearing or would they be cut off?

If there were a corrupt Prince/Princess, would it be possible for them to have knights at all or is that only 'unlockable' as a White Moon Prince/Princess? (Would this question be relevant to the DMC royals as well or does the mirror replica prevent them from also potentially having knights?)

Willing corruption is the only way to corrupt a Royal at this point in time as it would take an immense power to forcibly corrupt a Royal. This is not a power we have in play and the force of the corruption would likely be so great that it would destroy the Royal Crystal and kill the Royal. Any plot to side swap a fourth stage character would require extensive plotting in addition to the willingness to do so.

In regards to knights: theoretically all fourth stage senshi can have Knights, but in order for Knights to awaken the senshi's homeworld must be alive/they must be connected to it. Corrupted Senshi and Dark Mirror Senshi do not have a bond with their planet so unless they purified they would not have access to Knights and no players could quest for them.

Along those lines, if a Prince/Princess were to corrupt the Knights who were awakened prior to the corruption would still be able to function. While their unique power themes come from the planet of their Prince/Princess their magic is tied to the Code Piece on the planet and not the planet itself. No new Knights could awaken, however, as the Code Pieces would not resonate/awaken without the planet being alive.

How exactly do energy signatures work?

It was my understanding that they were an encompassing aura that just spread out around the source and that, based on the rank of the character, it encompassed a large area but you couldn't use it to pinpoint or track where a character specifically was just that if you felt it that meant they were somewhere in the vicinity and the stronger the rank, the broader the area. Or in the cause of Human-Form Mauvains/Royals that's what made them such a big target, the large aura.

At one point in time, there was something about corrupt senshi having an unstable/large energy signature because of the corruption to their starseed, is this still a thing?

Auras are feelings of power assigned to every powered character in the shop. A character’s faction affiliation and rank can be determined by their energy signature; the weaker a character is, the smaller their energy signature.

As the character grows in rank, the range with which their energy signature can be felt in grows, making them easier to find. The energy signature will feel faint on the outskirts of the range, but as a character approaches the source of the energy signature, the aura will grow stronger. If they walk in the opposite direction, the energy signature will fade from their radar.

If corrupted senshi were supposed to have an unstable/large energy signature, that information has been lost to time. Because it was not recorded in any of the information threads or MQ&A during the last large shop update several years ago, it has not been in play since at least then. Corrupted Senshi should have energy signatures comparable to agents of similar rank, though they would have a distinct ‘corrupted senshi’ aura instead of just ‘negaverse agent’ aura!
