I have a question about senshi in binary star systems and how close to RL xenogeology the shop gets before magic is redonk -- in fairness mostly to fine tune plan so I'm asking here for future generations!

Say (Usiong all fake names) that the name for a pair of binary stars if Jack Bauer, and one star's designation seperately is Jack Bauer Alpha and the other is Jack Bauer Beta - we know senshi can be named for binary pairs OR each star in that pair since there's examples in shop - ANYHOW!

If there's a Sailor Jack Bauer Alpha and Jack Bauer Beta, would the senshi EACH have their own world or, if the players agreed, can the senshi derive their power from the individual stars but share the homeworld between two cdultures, or does there need to be a second living space even if the senshi is senshiu of a different planetary object than the other.

If two players had senshi that were the senshi of two stars in a binary system did want to share a world and it is allowed, does it require a plot proposal, or is this simply not allowed now setytle for two worlds or a world and moon?

to try soimplifying: Sailor Jack Bauer Alpha is the senshi of the namesake star, and JB Betya is the smaller binary star in the system - could they have both lived on the same rock or does there have to be at least a moon for both stars to have senshi?

Each Senshi would have their own world; Senshi get their powers from their homeworld, and no homeworld can have two Senshi at one time. While the Senshi should originate from their homeworld and have existing life on their homeworld, there is nothing stopping you from plotting that one of the Senshi spends most of their time on the other star in the system. However, this would be like a Senshi living on Earth with their homeworld in space; Transcended Senshi would weaken the longer they were away from their homeworld.

While the cultures can be similar or while one star may be more advanced/larger, each Senshi should be dedicated to their homeworld and must interact with it (As it is the source of their power)

I was looking at the knights' information thread today and I noticed a change to the information for Cosmos knights. Specifically:

Uniform Colors: Pastel Rainbow
Symbol: Five Pointed Star (such as her earrings); this design should be specifically a star with five points; no more or less!

Previously, the specific number of points on the Cosmos star has not been required to be five (although I was always informed it should not be 8, as to avoid confusion with Polaris's compass rose). Hvergelmir has a 6-pointed star consistent on all her stages, which I selected specifically because Alphonse Mucha uses the 6-pointed star in his artwork (ref 1, ref 2, ref 3). The 6-pointed star is also what I used for Dionysia prior to corruption (and is referenced in how the eclipse pattern is depicted on his Negaverse uniform as well).

If I choose to pursue a transcendence plot for Hvergelmir, or a purification plot for Quartz, will I be required to discard reference to the 6-pointed star as previously shown in their official art, or are Cosmos knights whose art reflected the 6-pointed star prior to the 5-pointed star rule being put in place allowed to continue using it in future art?

Previously, there were issues and confusion amongst which ‘star’ a Cosmos Knight should have; after requests for clarification it was discussed among art staff that the official symbol of Cosmos is the five pointed star. However, this affects only Knights who were created after this rule was clarified; we do not force players to adjust existing designs between art stages unless their outfit broke a rule that was public knowledge at the time the art came out. In the case of Cosmos Knights created before this was clarified, there are no broken rules; Cosmos’ symbol was understood to be a star, but without clarification there was a variety of different star designs (such as five points, six points, or eight points) ; to enforce more consistency and a uniform symbol, we selected the five pointed star and all new Knights will be expected to use that star as their planetary symbol.

Hvergelmir and Dionysia both existed prior to this information being publicly clarified and are exempt from the requirement of the five pointed star. Characters with official art prior to this clarification do not need to change designs when getting new art. They are grandfathered in with their original designs, however we may request that when receiving new art you make an effort to include the symbol in some way. The five pointed star does not have to replace the six pointed star, but if possible we would ask that you try to incorporate the five pointed star onto the art in some way. This is not necessary if it would compromise the design of the character and, because the characters are grandfathered in, it is only a request for consideration and not a necessity. If you are aware that your character’s design may contradict existing faction guidelines we do request that you shoot the mule a PM when you are getting new art just so we can answer any questions should they arise!

If more than one cat takes part in a senshi awakening/upgrade, can they all claim it for sailor cat regs?

I ask particularly in the case of negaverse cats. I could understand not for order cats, since the cat actually triggers the awakening or upgrade, but for nega cats, it seems like all they can do is sense the potential? And then its the GS that does the awakening/upgrade. So would it be possible for two cats to share? (I know they have a really hard time finding this sort of rp, so it would help them out a lot to have more opportunities)

Unfortunately, no; only one cat can be credited for awakening/upgrading a Senshi. Negaverse cats had an upgrade that would allow them to sense when a Senshi was ready to upgrade and, with General Sovereign permission (and a special crystal) they could do the upgrade themselves, but they have always been allowed to upgrade or assist in the awakening of Dark Mirror Senshi in the same way Order Mauvians have done for White Moon Senshi. Additionally, only one cat can provide the Henshin Pen/perform the actual work for an awakening/upgrade, so that Mauvian is the one who would get the experience. Sorry for any disappointment!

Since when has it been required for chaos cats to fill out paperwork to upgrade corrupt senshi? Are order cats required to file paperwork in order database of senshi they've upgraded?

Are chaos cats also suppose to file paperwork or report when they upgrade or awaken a dark mirror?

Does this mean chaos cats now also require a Negeverse agent present for upgrades?

Added: does this mean a Negeverse captain/general fill paperwork out for a corrupt and upgrade them without the assistant of a guardian cat?

Prior to our May 27, 2017th update, Chaos Mauvians were not permitted to upgrade Corrupted Senshi at all; only General Sovereigns were able to do so. For years, the only way for a Corrupted Senshi to upgrade within the Negaverse was for the General Sovereign to push more Chaos into their starseed in the same way that General Sovereigns must upgrade every Negaverse Agent. We wanted to offer Chaos Mauvains more responsibilities and open up more roleplay opportunities. In order to ICly introduce this, we wanted to use a change in procedures that was publicly introduced and explained rather than just handwave that Mauvians could have all along. To explain why they couldn’t all along and avoid plot holes or inconsistencies, we introduced it in this roleplay and invited all Chaos Mauvians to attend. Doing so in this manner gave us the freedom to make it widely available to players while still keeping the structure of the Negaverse.

Because Order only ever used Mauvians for Senshi promotion and because they do not operate under a military structure, they do not need to fill out paperwork. The Corrupted Mauvians can file paperwork (which allows the players to handwave getting permission rather than force them to RP with a General Sovereign) and be granted the tools they need to complete the upgrade alone.

Chaos cats do not need to file paperwork on Dark Mirror Senshi; they are not a part of the Negaverse and their Chaos functions differently than the Negaverse Senshi’s. Chaos Mauvians have always been able to upgrade Dark Mirror Senshi as well as identify their Senshi potential, but Dark Mirror Senshi must always have a mirror involved in their awakening or upgrades.

Chaos cats now don’t require a Negaverse agent present for upgrades. Previously, only the General Soverign could actually do the Corrupted Senshi upgrade (because of the nature of Corrupted Senshi, to access more power meant that the General Soverign had to push more Chaos into their starseed—something Chaos cats didn’t have and don’t have the ability to do. The Chaos Cats were previously only able to upgrade the henshin pen after the General Sovereign pushed more Chaos into the Starseed and initiated the actual upgrade). If players do not want a General Sovereign present to complete the upgrade, the Mauvian can now do it alone because of the update we introduced in May. They simply need to ICly assume that they have taken the proper steps, received a General Soverign’s blessing, and received the crystal of Chaos energy that they can push into the starseed of the Senshi to upgrade them.

Negaverse Captains/Generals are not able to upgrade any member of the faction. A General can awaken a Lieutenant, but a General Sovereign is the only one who can do upgrades. In instances where Generals have attempted to upgrade other members of the Negaverse, youmafication or error has occurred. Previously, only General Sovereigns could upgrade Corrupted Senshi; now, we have found a means to allow Corrupted Mauvians to upgrade Corrupted Senshi. The full procedure for this method can be found in the Mauvan Information Thread, but if you have any other questions, please let us know!

How would a Mauvian describe an upgrade? As a strengthening, expansion, change of a starseed? Is it a different feeling for seach of them?

What would happen if a Mauvian tried to rush a upgrade early?

A Mauvian would probably best be able to describe the upgrade as simply an unlocking of new powers and abilities. They are unlocking more of the starseed’s potential and allowing the Senshi to continue to grow into themselves. The actual description of the feeling may vary from cat to cat, but in all instances the actual upgrade would be like the Mauvian having the key to open a new room. When the Senshi has reached a certain point of development, the Mauvian use that key to give them access to new abilities, but the starseed itself doesn’t expand, change, or strengthen—they simply have access to more of their potential.

The Mauvians can sense when a Senshi is ready to upgrade, so if they tried to upgrade without sensing that the Senshi was ready to unlock more power there would be no repercussions to either party. It would simply be like trying to use the wrong key to unlock a door; nothing would happen.

I'm probably missing it, but is there a thread that features write-ups of the schools as well as their male/female outfit variants? I checked the guidebook and the customs thread, but I cannot find them!

If there's no existing thread for each school, would it be too much to request one made? Likewise, can we get the schoolkids added into the customs thread?

This is a project we are working on and one we hope to tie into an event later down the road! Presently only Romano’s has the completed write up because it is the most recent school and we were able to compile the information as the school was written. Compiling information on the other schools has been time consuming and somewhat difficult because all of the full information is spread across many threads over many years. We eventually hope to have all of the uniforms on all of the templates, but as new templates are made, the work load for this project also grows.

Presently, general information on the schools other than Romano’s can be found here but if you have any specific questions, please feel free to PM the mule or ask here and we will get back to you as soon as possible!

For clarification purposes;

Can the 'started' rp count as one of the 'finished' rps when submitting for a crown token claim as long as the roleplay is finished within the month that it's started in?

At this point in time, yes; while the goal of crown tokens is to encourage more RP and we would prefer four different roleplays or solos be used, the rules only presently specify that the three finished RPs can have been started at any point in time—which would include during the current month. We may choose to change this at some point in time down the road, but for the time being you can use the same roleplay to count towards your newly started RP and your finished RP, provided it was started and finished that month.

Question about side-swapping!

If a character swaps sides must they cut ALL ties from their former life? So say my character kept his civ memories would he need to find a new career path? If he has family on the new side could they know or no? Pretty much what I am curious about is what exactly must a character separate themselves from when switching sides.

Cutting ties with their former life is generally meant to be a personal thing; they could keep the same career path, but they wouldn't be able to show up at their job and claim they were their old identity. They would have the same skill set and abilities, but no one would recognize them, and the general population wouldn't believe them if they claimed to have been their old civilian identity. No matter how much they knew or claimed to be their old self, it would be like a complete stranger showing up and telling you they were someone you knew very well. A talented lawyer could not go back to work as their previous civilian self, but they could obtain a new identity and falsify new credentials and apply to work at the same firm--but it would be recommended that they apply for a different firm to better protect themselves and their new identity.

Generally side swapping cuts them out of the life of every civilian they knew; there is some wiggle room if they side swap into a faction that they have family in, however if anyone from their previous life is going to know about their previous identity, we ask that this be included in the side swap proposal so we can help walk a player through what this can entail.

For example, one sister could be in the Negaverse, and one brother could corrupt into the Negaverse from the Knight faction. If the sister saw it happen, she would know who her brother was and wouldn't have the disconnect when she was introduced to his new glamour. The sister may try to help the brother settle into his new life by introducing him to friends that he used to know, but this would be very dangerous. If the brother had friends that were Order characters, they may think it is suspicious that their friend's sister suddenly shows up with a guy who thinks and acts like their friend, and because most of the powered population knows of the effects of sideswapping, it wouldn't take long before they could infer that he corrupted, thus compromising his identity--and hers. In the case of civilians who don't know about glamour or powered identities, they may think it was simply a coincidence if there was similarities. The sister could bring her brother home and introduce him to their unpowered parents as a friend, but they would never be able to learn his 'true identity', and his powered identity would never be compromised.

If players want to pursue any plots like this, we ask that they PM us with their intent and any questions; many plots have a lot of factors to consider and may yield different suggestions or require different tweaks to work, but we are willing to work with players on their plots.

Since we've had multiple Negaverse characters with white or cream as an accent color (Marcasite, Carnotite, Bornite, Idrialite, Valleriite, Vladimirite), can we get this uniform guideline edited or removed?
Uniform Guidelines
Must have desaturated or dark dominant colors with a single, individual accent color that can be of any shade except white or cream.

We can absolutely review the uniform guidelines and get them updated! But, for similar requests in the future, please send in a PM if you are going to use examples of characters you don't own unless you have player permission to do so! We don't want anyone who owns the character or who was involved in creating the art to be put in an awkward position. Thanks!

2 Questions from me!

1) Is there a guide to Youma characters somewhere (or even information on bonded Youmas? I feel like I saw it at some point but I'm bad at looking for things, sob)

2) If a character is a Negaverse Agent Half-Youma, are they able to have bonded Youma in the same way a non-Half-Youma could or would it be less likely because the Feral-Bonded-Youma-???? would reject the line of command there because of the you-are-half-me-not-higher-than-me-grrrrr?

There is a post in the Negaverse Faction Information Thread about Youma! It has a section dedicated to bonded/personal youmas!

A half-youma officer may possibly take on a personal youma, but any half-youma player should message us to discuss how this would work before trying to claim one. Some Negaverse Agents may be discouraged to claim a personal youma based on how their plot to youmafy occurred, but we will work with any player to help them reach the point where it would ICly make sense. We hope to have fuller information on this in the near future, but in the meantime we ask that Half-Youma players that want their character to obtain a personal youma please PM the mule and we will work with you!

Let's not forget Moonstone! She's definitely got a cream accents and as such does not fit the uniform guidelines as written there.

As this is applicable to a character of mine that is very close to growth, I thought I should pipe up in support of having the guidelines inspected/updated so that I know whether or not I need to be making changes before I settle on her General upgrade design.

Thank you for your time and consideration~

Captain Uncert [Moonstone]

Moonstone existed at the same time those rules were in place; in recent years we have relaxed the need for Negaverse characters to have only dark colors. The rules that are currently posted reflect the original intent of the faction and were missed in our last update of faction guidelines. Even if the Negaverse guidelines were not going to be reviewed, Moonstone's color scheme would be grandfathered in. The dark brown that covers most of her uniform is adequate for a Negaverse Agent, and the cream on her uniform does not challenge that.

Thirding, as a citation of a character owned being concerned in that mine was directly effected back during the original rollout 2012-ish of the redefined negaverse uniform guidelines that eliminated cream/white accents. My character had a white undershirt in a predominantly green and black uniform, and was required to change to fawn/goldenrod during the captain upgrade rather than being grandfathered in.

It would be wonderful to see this reconsidered in ruling, since there are many examples from many artists over many months that no longer adhere to the basic guidelines thread.

uncerted progression

At this point in time, it is not a matter of reconsideration in ruling; we have already decided that lighter accents are permissible as long as the uniform is predominantly dark. We intend to update the appropriate information threads when we have finished compiling relevant information and will make an announcement when these updates are officially rolled out. In the meantime,
if anyone has any questions about their characters or how they adhere to art guidelines, we encourage them to PM the shop mule so we can go over things with them!

Can a Wonder still be a Wonder in this situation:

The legend is only 2-5 hundred years old, but it is a strange natural occurrence in this one place, that would be probably have been in existence for several thousand years if not more.

For example:

The Legend of Blowing Rock. Blowing Rock is a a huge rock, where if you stand on it and drop things off it (like pennies or tissues or even pencils) the wind will blow it back up to you (real place) Legend has it that the wind once blew a Indian Maiden's beloved back to her, after he leapt from it so he wouldn't have to chose between her and his tribe. the legend originated about the time white people came to America, but surely the Blowing Rock is much much older than that. Would it count as a Wonder?

In this situation, Blowing Rock is a valid wonder because it is a landmark that has existed for a significant amount of time. Regardless of how old the legend is, the location itself is old enough to be a Wonder. You could incorporate elements of the legend into your world building/lore, though!

If a person is bald, or cannot grow hair, if they become a corrupt senshi do they suddenly poof get hair???

Regardless of the hair style or length of hair in civilian form, if the character can grow hair then it will always grow when hey power up into a Corrupted Senshi. Magic cannot change genetics, so if the character is physically unable to grow hair, becoming a Senshi won’t change that. However, because the hair growth is a guideline requirement for Corrupted Senshi uniforms, if the character does not have knee-length hair while powered up, they violate the art rules. While we will try to work with players to accommodate their needs, questing a character like that in this faction creates difficulties with the rules we have in place. If we were to bring a character like this into the shop, it would mean we either had to break art rules for a character or break the rule that magic does not alter pre-existing genetics, so we request that players not pursue this as we may need to deny some aspects of the character to adhere to our rules.

What happens when a bald character becomes a corrupt senshi? Would they remain bald (say they were genetically bald) or would they sprout hair seemingly out of nowhere?

Please disregard because the same question is above.
