"You have a daughter," he began astounded, curious, and delighted all at once as the tea kettle whistled loudly in his ears, causing a small twing of pain as he spun about quickly to shift the kettle off, which caused him instant gratification.
"I just realized you wanted iced tea, but I hope you'll appreciate this a bit more. We can let it cool if you want ice." Flipping the lid, he smelled the sweet aroma of the freshed brewed tea and sighed, pulling out two fresh glasses and filling them about half way.
"It's always best to brew the tea with the sugar already added because then it dissolves, which makes the drink much less gritty. I'm sure you already knew that, but for me, it's always an irritation to have to deal with sugar grains getting lodged in the back of your mouth." Laughing nervously once again, he offered her a glass a bit fuller than his own, awaiting her approval. He noticed that she liked quite a bit of sugar so he was sure to add more than he normally did. Not being one to ever offer something he himself would no consume, he awaited anxiously her reaction.
"Anyway, tell me more about your daughter."

Blowing at the cup a bit to cool it down, Miyuki took a small sip before licking her lips happily. It seemed that the prospect of hot tea didn't bother her at all as she took yet another sip before setting down the glass.
"My daughter? Aerith is her name, but I call her Rith-chan. She's a beautiful baby girl. She has my kitsune tail and ears, not as brightly colored yet, but the crimson will get lighter as she grows older. She's got gorgeous blue eyes like mine too. Her hair however is an ebony color just like her father's."
Just as she took another drink of her tea, she snorted with laughter into the glass. "Too bad the b*****d isn't around to ever see his own daughter. Hasn't even met her once," she said with a rather harsh tone, her eyes narrowing into the contents of her cup as she set it down once more.
It took her a few moments to realize just how much she was glaring at it before she snapped back to reality and gazed up at Kenta. "I'm sorry about that, my mind wanders away from me sometimes," Miyuki stated with a sheepish grin.

Kenta didn't seem to respond, as he himself was staring at his own glass of tea, eyes kinda flaring with something that showed huge malcontent. The moment Miyu mentioned that the father hadn't even met his daughter ONCE, his heart grew heavy with remorse and pain. All he could think about was the bitterness that child would grow up to have before she even got to high school.
The tea in his hands was shaking threateningly, contained by the glass only because of the rapid vibrations of his arms form the huge amount of frustration he had to deal with.
"He hasn't met her once," he really did try to keep himself calm as he asked her, as though needing to verify this anger building up within him. Surely he had come around once to see his child. HIS own child. His flesh and blood. What reason could he have to ditch the child.
"It doesn't make sense..."

Dipping her head low, she began to laugh gently. "When I was pregnant with her.. He left a note saying that he was going somewhere and that he needed to take care of things. Even after her birth.. I haven't seen him since. I've heard about him though.. Apparently another woman is having his child as well. I forgot that his children were merely something to continue a legacy by. Now that he has that woman bearing his children, he doesn't need my pup or me anymore."
She could only shake her head as she lifted the glass up to take a small sip. "I didn't know it at the time. The pregnancy was one that I hadn't wanted in the first place. But as my stomach grew larger, so did my enthusiasm. Having a child, it seemed so great and wonderful. When he left, I figured he'd be back in time for her to be born." She lifted her head to stare at Kenta for a moment, her eyes filled with unshed tears.
"We can both see how utterly wrong I was."
It took her a moment to compose herself as she used the back of her hand to wipe her eyes dry. "I thought I was in love with him but I realize that it must have just been infatuation. The only thing that hurts now is that everytime I look at my baby girl, I don't know how I'm going to explain it to her that daddy never even saw her."

The front doors part with clicks of the bolts, letting in the crisp, cold air. Stepping into the building is Taliman, the would-be Emperor of the universe. Can't own everything. Well, not just yet. He holds his usual posture, chest out, head down, forearms behind his waist. His red fedora is in place again, his one eye hidden by the brim. His buttoned red trenchcoat covers his entire torso, the coattails giving way only for his tail or his steps, showing purple pinstripe pants and polished leather shoes with each short-legged stride.
A casual sway is present in his hips and legs as he moves, his well-kempt tail mimicking the same motion. Only slowing his pace, he takes a gander at the bar. Another fox woman, this one with blue hair and an enticingly voluptuous figure. Miyuki, if memory serves. She converses with yet another fox person, a mildly familiar scent to him. Still, Wesley doesn't recognize him. They also seem to be having a.. moment. Little point to heading that way, then. Picking up another presence in the stadium, the demon can identify it as his brother's woman. Perhaps he can draw out her interesting side?
Bringing his right hand from his back and to his chest, Tali undoes one button of his coat before reaching in and pulling out his flask. Fastening the button again with his free hand, he removes the cap of his bottle as he turns toward the corridor on his way to the stadium. Taking a pull from the flask, he returns his left hand, holding the cap, behind his waist. In a moment or so, he emerges from the hallway and continues along onto the arena floor. Keeping his drink near his stomach, Wes raises his head slightly, a shadow cast over his face by the fedora. Seinorei. Haven't seen that thing in some time.
The Orinian lord grins lightly as he comes to a stop near the ring steps, sapphire eye centered on the Saiya-jin girl.

"It doesn't matter what you tell her," he said calmly, placing the tea on the counter as he entwined his fingers together. As his mind raced, all he could do was sigh discontentedly as he tried to think of the best way to say it.
"She'll grow up bitter, and likely jealous of everyone else whose dads will seem like god compared to the vacant spot on her family tree. Parts of her will want to scream and shout and claw and bit at everything and anything, even you. Love you as she might, and I assure you she will, she'll even be upset with you from time to time as she starts to ask questions you'd rather not answer.
" 'Where's my daddy? Can I see him today? Why aren't mommy and daddy together.' "
Looking up at Miyuki, he could see that she had started to cry and he paused, putting his own sentiments behind him as he replayed what she had said to him.
"Don't regret believing in the father. I think it's only natural for the mother and the child to have faith in someone who's only going to disappoint them. Just do all you can and she'll be fine. Don't...don't wait too long to tell her though. It'll only make things worse..."

"I don't.. I don't want my baby girl.. to h-hate me.." she began to falter off, her words coming out a bit stuttered near the end. "I want m-my baby to b-be happy and grow up h-happy and n-now she's g-gonna hate m-me!"
Tears were now running down her cheeks quickly, falling into her lap when they reached her chin. With her hands balled into fists and also settled in her lap, all she could was sit there with her eyes shut as tight as she could keep them.
"I j-just want the b-best for m-my d-daughter and I can't e-even do that a-anymore!"
And with that, she let out a howl and began to bawl, her arms folding up onto the countertop as she buried her face into them. Instantly her arms were dampened by the many tears that fell. Her shoulders shook with each sob and her tail stopped swishing as merrily as it was earlier.
She was so lost and helpless. Such a young mother, raising a daughter on her own. Now it seemed to hit her on how difficult it would be.

Seinorei froze in mid swing, held slightly above horizontal at waist height. Right foot spaced about a yard forwards from the left, the girl's tail lashed behind her slightly, the fur bristled a little. Jade's green eyes blinked slightly, and turned to the right without moving her head to look towards the ring steps, where a familiar figure in red stood.
A droplet of sweat ran down her face to her chin, and then fell to the tiles below. The sound of it hitting echoed loudly in the Saiya-jin's ears as seconds ticked by like minutes. But the slow-motion stopped, and normalicy resumed. A sense of apprehension still hung in the air, however. It had been a while since Jade hade seen Taliman, and that didn't help this encounter in the least.
"Is there something you want?"
She then began to continue her practice, swinging the narrow blue blade in her right hand 360 degrees, faster and faster until the air hummed as it cut through it. Then she snapped it to a stop in the previous position in front of her, the air around the sacred blade ringing.

Suddenly he felt like an a**. By bringing in his own upsetting past, he had completely discouraged this beautiful young mother who had done nothing wrong whatsoever. How was the to reassure her though? There were times that even he felt disappointed in his mother. He wouldn't even look at her when his father was around unless he absolutely had to, and he loved his mother more than anyone else on the entire planet. It spoke volumes when a child would go that far out of the way to avoid a parent they actually cared about.
Before he knew it he was around the bar, having picked up some of his mother's maternal instinct. All he could think of to do was hug Miyuki and let her cry and cry and cry until she didn't feel like crying anymore. He held her head, close to his chest, just over his heart, the strongest and weakest part of the human body. The bond between two people couldn't be stronger, but for Kenta, it wasn't necessarily and act of affection, but an act of instinct; something he actually didn't have to at on too much. Few other people ever seemed so hopelessly distressed around him before.
"I'm sorry Miyuki san, I spoke out of place. There's no need to worry about your daughter. It is true that you two will butt heads, but it's not because she'll hate you. The only reason why is that unlike most children, she only has one. You have to be mother and father, hero and villain, good guy and bad. Just be as strong as you can for young Aeris. As an infant she is acute to every emotion you display around her. Show her undenying love now and as she grows up, work with her through everything." He choked on his words at that point, unable to say more, though he was surprised that he said so much. He often didn't talk about it, but it seemed that when he did, he could write books. Books about the things he wanted to do, the father he wanted to be raised by, the family he wanted to have.
He was in tears himself now, but they weren't tears of sadness, simply a sign of giving up, of running out of words. A tear in each eye that said what he never had the strength to. 'Otou san...omae ga...'
"Drink the tea Miyuki san. Then go home and play with your daughter...kiss her...tell her you love her even though she has no idea what you're saying. See her to bed and remember...daijobu." He could think of nothing else to say. He wanted to comment on something else, but couldn't. Simply couldn't. Instead he turned her back to the bar and made his way out, feeling all of a sudden overwhelmed by what he had came here for in the first place. Maybe it was too much so soon. Maybe he wasn't ready.
When the doors closed behind him, he took to the skies. He wanted to get as far away as possible and just stare out at the sky and envy every last star out there. He wanted to assure himself that men weren't as bad as his father, as Miyuki's former lover. The more he was exposed to it though, the more he hated it. The children would all grow up to be victims and the parents that raised them would fare no better.
"It's not fair. Otou san! It's..."
