I don't doubt Sin's methods work for her, and maybe you too. What I doubt is the overall quality of the guild. Recently you've had an immensely powerful guy who has been grounded by his two personalities named after daoist concepts; another guy who claims to be a chaos magician that disregards just-about-every rule thrown at him and can turn people gay at whim yet can't GTFOver a bad relationship. Everyone always gets treated as if they're right. People whine about how bad they have it magickally (apparently no-one's a good magickian until they've been bound by their own spirit guides, are psychic vampires that are draining the Earth of all its power, and frequently fall into seizures thanks to social networking sites). People prattle on and on about concepts that are either poorly researched or made up without any sort of backbone ("there originally were 20 angels" - off the top of my head, I can name more than that).

And I've lost my train of though. I'm sure that paragraph does.. stuff. Yeah. 6am.

I'm making people in other places think the guild "sux"?

Lapis, if you got your s**t as a captain together and had some standards about what you allowed in your guild, it wouldn't be the shithole it is now.

My modship was worth nothing in the first place, I wasn't allowed to do anything other than accept invites because if I did anything else I'd get yelled at.

All the guilds are dictatorships . . that is just, how it is on gaia. If anything happens in the guild I am the one who is responsible, so I try to make sure my guild is in compliance with the TOS (which means no flaming people who seem to be bs) . . besides that, I dont know everything myself, so I question and see where things go with people, as perhaps they do know some things.

@ Mitsh. . . we all have misconceptions. The guy probably named his personalities Yin and Yang. It is clear though that their are segregations and separations which are known as the "higher" and lower" self even though they arent fully disconnected from us. These other parts can have diferent names too, as their is the true soul name, then the past life names (which your other self or higher self would techniqually have been that person in the past and so such a name I suppose would be usable)

About the other guy, I am not even sure if he knows that he doesnt know it all, but I am not going to just kick him out because he sounds weird. I trust that people will be smart, and see that what he is saying doesnt quite add up as what he preaches isnt exactly what he follows. That again, doesnt mean he doesnt have any value. People have to actually do work and try to understand each other.

about complaining, I do plenty of it. Becuase once you open that door and you can actually feel spirits and all that, you do get attacked a lot. I got attacked for a year straight when I first started to be able to feel spirits, and trust me, I was complaining too. . haha . . people complain in the hopes that someone else can help, or just to ease their pain and see other peopel say that they have gone through something simmilar. It can be theraputic.

research online only gets you so far. Some members do research through communing with their higher self, filtering information, reading books that exist in the astral, etc. It is hard to tell who is bsing and who isnt but if you follow the leads it could be to a larger reward sometimes, which is why I like to see where people go with things and question them instead of just caling them bs.

Actually, flaming is fine. Have you read the FAQ's in the Captain's guild? The TOS only really talks about Libel (fiendishly hard to prove, as it requires proof that the person knew it wasn't true at the time they said it... yeah, right) and in fact you can do whatever you want in a guild. Well, whatever you can do that keeps the respect of your members, that is. I guess that would be the only real limit, aside from porn or whatever.

They are all dictatorships in the sense that the person on top does have the final say. And then the person on top at the end of it all really is gaia, and their TOS.

As for my guild, I am not nearly as bad as you all make me out to be. I ban people that violate the TOS, becuase those are gaia's rules and flaming people, even if they "had it coming", is an offence the mods could shut a guild down over. So in the interest of the guild, I deal with people who voilate gaia's rules. If I was really as bad of a captaion I would ban anyone with differing ideas than me, or anyone who insults me. I let several people stay int he guild that outright insulted me. I remember a while back what was his name, bomani or something?. . gray revelations. . that was it. . he outright was insulting me for several pages, and I didnt ban him. I banned him when he did it again (over me saying I can talk to rocks, which I used in my example above and explained how it does make sense. . he didnt ask why I said that, but went straight into the insult. . his loss)

I give people second chances, I let the guild members decide on some things too. . I dont ban people on the basis of their different beleifs (and only ban if their is excessive rudeness or flaming for the most part) .. while as I see it all guilds are dictatorships in a sense, I dont think I run my guild all that horribly.

And yes, I do work on cultivating the "ignorant masses" so to speak, but then I have also learned a lot from these people who at first seem to not know anything. I dont run an elitist guild with a few members that all are on the same page, but work more with a varience of people, some of which are more on the newbie side.

Anyone can grow and change. It just takes a lot more patience than most are willing to put into it to help someone that is convinced of their power/knowledge without any basis for it.
