Quest: Cupid's Little Helper (Valentine '09) Characters: Tariel, Kali, TBA... Status: In Progress - 2/4Kali slammed the cordless phone back into its cradle, eyeing it with the look normal people reserved for finding a deadly spider the size of a plate rearing at them with poison dripping off oversize fangs. (Kali being Kali would have been delighted with the spider and promptly dissected it for spell ingredients. This newfangled human contraption was much more dangerous, in her books.) She debated setting the machine on fire, just to be sure. The phone hadn't always been such a horrible beast. But for the past few days, whenever it rang, it was heralding another strange and creepy call, strange males of all ages talking about 'milfs' (what language was that, exactly, she'd never come across it before), asking to be punished, and, in the case of the most recent caller, informed her exactly what he'd like his dragon to do in her cave. Temper having snapped several calls before, Kali had frostily informed the gentleman caller that she had never lived in a cave, and that two dragons in her house was certainly more than enough for her. ... Strange humans. The buzz when she visited populated areas lately was that there was a romantic holiday on around this time. Still, she hadn't realised that one of the customs was to start phoning other numbers randomly and trying to confuse or worry them. Why couldn't it be door to door like that other human holiday, so she could set people on fire personally? All she could burn in this case was the phone, and she had discovered that it was moderately useful for allowing others to stay in touch with Tariel and Roth - who was missing again, as per normal, but at least she had the Lab on speed-dial in case of any Tari-related emergencies. Unfortunately, the possibly of something going wrong with a crazy experiment combining ever-grow hair and an angel's soul outweighed the irritation of crank callers. So the phone had to stay, dammit. Maybe she should just stop answering - though with her luck, it would simply mean Tari picking up the phone instead, and the last thing her naive 'daughter' needed was strange men harassing her. (It was hard enough trying to prevent that when they went out and Tari insisted on grabbing her own breasts, or those of other female Raevans...) Although speaking of Tariel, where was that girl? Kali was sure that Tari didn't have a date, despite the romantic holiday. Tari may have already been on her first date, but Kali had received the impression it was less to do with love and more to do with spending time with a friend who happened to be male. What Kyou's Raevan's feelings on that matter were, Kali had no idea (though again, Tari's self-groping was likely influencing matters). But Kali hadn't heard of a second date yet, and Tari was quite loud about her plans with friends. So where had Tari disappeared to? One disappearing child was enough, Kali didn't need her daughter wandering off for months at a time, too. Kali's stomach sank as a thought struck. What if Tari had already answered the phone? What if she'd spoken to some of those perverts and they'd lured her away? Taking deep breaths, Kali tried not to spontaneously combust anything in the room. She was going to search for Tari in a logical manner - and when she found the girl, Kali was going to inject her with a tracking device.

Quest: Cupid's Little Helper (Valentine '09) Characters: Tariel, Kali, TBA... Status: In Progress - 3/4A lone man waited by the edge of a dirt road in the middle of seemingly nowhere. He glanced around as he waited, taking in the greenery as though trying to place the trees and therefore his location. One hand gripped a sheet of paper that he continued to refer back to, checking the time and location specified. A bemused expression hinted that he might be second-guessing himself and his decision to come here. Time dragged on, with no sign of another presence. A short jerk was the only sign the man was desperate to move or pace, but clearly restraining himself. The paper was beginning to crumple in his hand when a bright glint appeared, moving quickly around a distant curve in the road towards the waiting man. As it moved closer, the man's eyes widened to see it was a girl in golden armor... sort of. It was a girl in golden armor from the chest up - below that, there were trailing ribbons and a strange glow. He checked the paper again. This explained the "strange floaty people" warning. Hopefully this was the writer of the ad, not the potential date herself. (Hopefully a dating ad would warn that the lady in question was not all there, but you never knew these days with so much false advertising.) "Tari?" he asked when the girl drew to a halt in front of him. "Yes!" she chirped, to the man's relief. She was bright and happy in a way he thought might drive him mad with too much exposure, so it was doubly good the meeting wasn't for this one. No doubt she was underage, too, despite flaunting her cleavage so blatantly. "Sorry Tari are late," the girl continued. "Here now, but now we both run late, so we must hurry." With that, she grabbed his wrist and began flying back the way she'd come. Stumbling at first, the man found he had to keep at a near constant trot to keep up with her. His wrist stung through the layers of cloth he wore, and he absently hoped for her sake that she hadn't pierced cloth or skin. "Tari so glad you came," she babbled as they ran/flew. "Has never done this before, but want mama to be happy. Tari had date and was much happy, so mama need be happy, too. But Tari no sure if most people okay with dragons and floatings and magics and stuff. And not be Satan," she added. The man quirked an eyebrow. "So your mother... is she also against Satan?" They jerked to a halt and Tari stared up the man seriously. " Everyone against Satan." She glared for a few moments, and then they were off moving again. Unnoticed, the man's mouth twitched up at one corner. He'd been right - this was going to be fun. Just when he was about to demand that the girl stop dragging him around (and also, why hadn't they met closer to their final destination), they detoured off the road. Making their way through a line of dense trees, they emerged much closer to a house than the man would have guessed they could have been. The tugging at his wrist became more pronounced and he realised he had stopped. Resisting Tari's demands to move forward, he stared at the house. "Wait, you live here? And your mother... she lives here?" Tari stared at him, confused. "Yes. Why else be here? Come come." He gave in to the tugging and followed the floating half-girl to the front door. It wasn't locked, opening easily for the girl. Stepping inside, he found himself in a marble-tiled foyer, with a strange protusion in the middle. He wandered closer and brushed a hand over the Chinese broadsword embedded into the stone floor. Oh, he suddenly had such a bad feeling... "No touch that," Tari frowned at him. "Mama say no touching, that important and not belong to others." Her eyes flickered towards the hall ahead of them. Raising a finger to her lips, she signaled for him to be quiet. "Stay here, Tari go get mama." The man rubbed at his jaw as the girl disappeared. His desire for answers made him stay, but it looked like his planned fun was well and truly off the tables now. * * * "Mama!" Kali swung her head around, relief overtaking her at the familiar sound of her daughter's voice. Not kidnapped by perverts after all. Still time for a tracking device, though. "Mama, come come!" Tari floated into the living room and began tugging on Kali's arm. Kali frowned, but allowed herself to be pulled to her foot and out into the hall. "What's wrong? Did something bad happen?" It seemed her panic wasn't quite gone - it began to rise again. Damn, should she go get the phone abd be ready to call Dr. Kyou for help? Tari giggled and tugged harder. "Nopey nope, no bad. Good! Tari found man for mama." Kali stopped where she was. Her voice and stomach dropped, as did the temperature. "What?!" " Valuntimes Day," Tari rolled her eyes. A pout formed when Kali refused to move. "Everyone say need date for Valuntimes. Mama spend all time at home, not able find date. So Tari found for you. Come come!" Kali was sure her face reflected her dread and she allowed herself to be dragged to the foyer. At the very least, she needed to kick this strange man out of her house. Although, how in the world had he gotten through her wards? Entering the foyer, Kali was shocked and angered to see a figure crouched down inspecting the Chinese broadsword embedded in the marble floor. Her mouth was opening to snap something rude at him when the man stood and turned. Kali raised an eyebrow as she took him in: tall (taller than her), dark-skinned, clad in very fine clothes, very handsome (not that she would ever say so to his face)... The man yawned, revealing sharp fangs, and his tail twitched under the inspection. He raised an eyebrow above a golden cat-slit eye. In an amused voice, he said, " Mu qin." It was only habit that had Kali reply, "Astaroth." Tari blinked and whipped her head back and forth between the two. This was not what she'd planned to have happen. Snapping out of it, Kali turned to her daughter. "Tari, I'd like you to meet Astaroth. Your brother."

Quest: Cupid's Little Helper (Valentine '09) Characters: Tariel, Kali, Astaroth Status: Complete - 4/4Green eyes bright with suspicion darted back and forth between the other two occupants of the house foyer. Nothing about this day was going right, which didn't put her in the happiest of moods, and then to have bombshells like this dropped on her... Tari scowled. "No brother." Her claws flexed dangerously and she scowled at the man she'd thought would be dating her mother. "He is," Kali replied, matter of fact. "He's been away, but he's been my son for a long time now, which makes you siblings." Tari crossed her arms. "No brother," she insisted. When Kali opened her mouth to reply, Tari added. "Not Raevan, so not brother. Raevans are brothers, not..." she waved a hand at Astaroth. "Kings of Hell," Astaroth added helpfully. Kali pinched her nose. This was off to a great start... "Hell?" Tari blinked. Then blinked again. An accusing finger stabbed the air. "Satan!"Astaroth rolled his eyes. "Decidedly not. I'm Chinese, for a start." Though admittedly, he didn't look it. "My former name was Yan Lao, not Satan in any way." Tari didn't look convinced, though she did drop the pointing finger. She darted a look over to Kali - surely her mother would tell her if Satan was really under their roof? But wait! Her mother would never let Satan into their house. Which meant this Astaroth person couldn't be Satan, because her mama would never keep him as her son. Slowly, she began to relax and her normal bobbing in the air resumed. "Tari sorry," she offered to the black-skinned man. "Not Satan, okies, Tari know now. So... brothers?"An eyebrow rose. "Technically, you would be my sister, not my brother. Of course, I don't remember having a sister when I left...?" He turned to Kali expectantly. "Of course you do," she countered. When her son frowned, she smirked in response. "You remember that angel soul you helped me with, don't you?" A thin black tail lashed in response. " Mu qin," Roth grated out in a sweet voice, "when you said you were going to experiment on an angel's soul, I was expecting less of the floating girls and more of the torture and misuse of said soul. I was expecting a punching bag, not a..." "Sister," Kali supplied. "... Yes, that," Astaroth responded in a very flat tone. Kali crossed her arms over her chest, feeling very pleased with herself. This was exactly what she'd had planned when applying for the Maiden's Hair fel essence, after all. Stupid Roth had disappeared for months on end, ruining her plans, but now he was back and everything was back on track. She savoured the words as they left her mouth, "Suffer and deal with it." Ah, the sweetness of annoying her son! Meanwhile, things had not been explained to Tari's satisfaction. "How brothers? ... Sisters," she corrected herself. "How? Not Raevan."Surprisingly, it was Astaroth who explained, "Just because someone is the same race as you, doesn't make you siblings or even related. Your brother or sister is someone who has the same parents as you. You might not be the same race, or even related by any blood, but if you share a mother or a father, then you're siblings." Under his breath, he added, "Much as I detest the idea of having an angelic relative." Tari considered this, idly chewing at one taloned finger. "So, other Raevans... not Tari brother? Or sister?" she again added hastily. "No sibling?"Kali nodded. "Exactly. You are not related to any of the other Raevans out there. You're the same race, and some of them are your friends, but they're not your brothers or sisters." Blinking, Tari hummed as she considered this. This changed a lot - she'd been calling every other Raevan her brother, and assumed they were all family. But if they weren't, then what were all the Raevans, exactly? If not family, did she have no ties to them? She frowned. This needed a lot of thinking on... and sadly, that wasn't Tari's best area. Seeing that Tari had fallen silent, Kali crossed the floor to her returned son. She enveloped him in a hug that had him stiffening and enduring with a half-hearted growl. Releasing him (and hiding a snicker at his obvious discomfort with the affectionate gesture), she held him at arms length and checked for any sign of injury. After a few moments, she concluded that this visit to Hell had been relatively boring, compared to the trips he'd come home bloodied or aged. "Not that I'm not happy to see you back, but do you have any idea why Tari thought you were my Valentines Day date?" "I do believe I know the answer to that," he answered. There was a faint hint of a wry smile as he proffered a crumpled piece of paper, held delicately at the top between two long claws. "I found this in town and decided to apply. I was hoping to have a little fun tormenting some religious zealots. Of course, I had no idea it would be for you, seeing as how my mu qin doesn't have a daughter..." "Oh, get over it," Kali muttered as she took the paper and began reading. Less than halfway down the page, her face grew stony. A silver glow appeared behind her grey eyes, and a sudden wind sped through the house, raising Kali's hair. When she spoke, there was an echo of thunder in each word. "Tari?" The golden Raevan, having recognised the piece of paper as her advertisement, looked at her mother with wide eyes. She didn't know what she'd done wrong, but her mother in this state usually meant Tari had done something bad. In a tiny voice, she said, "Yes?""We're going to have a little talk about privacy, and not setting people up," Kali scowled. Her voice dropped back to normal as she added, "And then we're going to talk about why you don't meet strange men, especially in out-of-the-way places. And about not groping yourself in public. Or groping others. And then..." Tari drooped as Kali continued on. "Yes, mama," she mumbled, following after Kali as the redhead headed back down the hall. It sounded like all her fun activities were about to be banned.

Anachrophobia The Fel Outbreak - Sign Up From October 15th until October 22nd will be the official sign-up period for the upcoming Metaplot event - The Fel Outbreak. More information concerning the event will be revealed soon enough in RP format. (presumably some time after the sign up period ends) Unfortunately, due to the nature of this metaplot, it is only targetted to Raevan owners that already have a Frei or a Sigel. Owners that doesn't have a Frei yet can also participate though.
The metaplot event will probably run roughly for a month, maybe longer depending on situation. But no longer than 2 months because that will be dangerously close to the annual Christmas event. You are required to fulfill the following requirements if you choose to participate in this metaplot.
- At least 1 solo post in your journal. - Take part in at least 1 interactive RP with another Raevan. - At least 2 posts per week. (Including Solo, PRP, ORP)
Additional rules: - You may not god-mod during this event. - This is an owners-only event. - If you fail to fulfill the above requirements during or towards the end of the event, your progress thus far will be deleted or edit out.
Quote: The Fel OutbreakHow it happened? On a faithful day where Kyou and Lazarus were spring cleaning the laboratory, an accident occurred where Lazarus was infected by a virus fel essence. He was taken over by instinct and was a little... frisky with the ladies that were coincidentally gathered in the lab at that day. Please follow this link to read the RP that details the events. (go to page 2) Warning, there are suggestive contents in the RP, please refrain from reading if you are uncomfortable with this kind of stuff. The core of this outbreakFel Essence Self Replicating Virus
Viruses are an infectious agent that are so small that they cannot be seen under regular light microscopes. However, they are also known to be only able to replicate when attached to the host's cell, whether they be a plant, animal or human. Unfortunately, this particular virus that had went through the corruption had developed the ability to replicate on its own, without the need to attach itself to a cell host. In fact, it had replicated so much that a small cloud of an incredibly large amount of viruses can be seen with the naked eye despite its miniscule size. Transmission- Touch - Fluid (like a sneeze, or during an exchange of saliva) - Only infects RaevansSymptoms- Delusional - Driven by instincts - Power Boost - Inability to think rationally - Inability to control their emotions - Inability to control their powers - Joint Pain - Change of color in the rune
Symptoms may not show immediately like Laz. The virus reacts faster in high temperature, which is why it caused an immediate reaction on Lazarus. (and also because he got infected directly with a large dosage) It may take a while, days even before it shows any symptom after an infection.Treatment/CureUnknown.Rules as a reminder[.1] You may not god-mod during this event. [.2] Only owners that signed up during the sign up period can participate in this event. [.3] You have to fulfill the previously mentioned requirements if you are participating in this event. [.4] If you fail to fulfill the requirements during or towards the end of the event, your progress thus far will be deleted or edit out. [.5] You have to be infected within the first two weeks of the breakout. [.6] You have to show at least three of the symptoms mentioned above. [.7] Your PRP must have the [META PRP] tag instead of [PRP].

META: Stage 2 - Incubation Characters: Tariel, Kali Status: Complete - 1/1Tari awoke the morning after the party feeling groggy and listless. Instead of jumping out of bed and zooming around the house til she found where her mama was, she just rolled over onto one side and hugged her pillow. The events of the party weighed on her mind. Tari wondered how Lucia, Varun and Rivener were all doing. They'd all been acting so strange last night. But televee had shown Tari that that could be normal for parties. Still, she'd thought Riv and Varun more sensible than that - especially Riv, full of helpful advice. Lucia, she didn't know enough about to really say, though Lucia's mama had certainly been surprised by the feline's actions. Maybe it was just worry over the party that kept her in bed. Maybe. Tari just didn't feel happy today. That didn't sound so bad, but it had never happened to Tari before. More than once, she'd found herself wishing Lazarus had been at the party last night. The first Raevan of them all was smart, and also a friend of Riv's. Maybe Laz would have been able to calm things down. Or maybe Tari was just worried about him, too. She hadn't seen Laz in so long, not since she'd taken him to Natsuki's cafe. Televee had a word for boys who didn't call again after the first date, but Tari didn't think it applied to Laz. They were friends, it wasn't like they'd kissed or anything romantic. After a while, Tari rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling, while her mind kept wondering from subject to another. What was Varun doing picking fights with older, bigger Raevans? Tari knew the fishy was all puffy and liked to look even bigger than he was - but Riv was clearly even bigger and had a stomach and, well, kind of dangerous looking. But not Satan, Tari quickly reminded herself. Tari hadn't thought Riv to be dangerous at all, but Riv had proven her wrong by using his poison on Varun. "Tari? Are you in here?" a voice at the door pulled Tari from her thoughts. Tari rolled over to face the door as it opened, Kali poking her head in. The redhead frowned when she saw Tari still in bed. Taking a seat on the side of the bed, Kali reached out and laid a hand across Tari's forehead. (Tari gave a little smile at being right about how to do this for Lucia after all. But only a little smile, and it quickly left again.) "Are you feeling alright? Tired from last night?" Kali asked. Tari made a piteous face. "Tari no feel so good," she mumbled, half hiding her face in the pillow. "Sore. Think of bad things. No good." Kali's face softened, and the hand moved to pet Tari's hair. "It didn't sound like the party ended well. I suppose you're just worried about your friends... Though you do seem a little warmer than usual." Perhaps it was because Tari had stayed rugged up in bed. Kali wasn't sure if she should take that chance or not. And Tari had never mentioned being sore before. Perhaps she should call Doctor Kyou. Although, Kali debated with herself, if it turned out to be nothing, wouldn't she look foolish? It wasn't like Tari's temperature had spiked or anything. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to wait and see, just for a little bit. "Do you just want to stay in bed today?" she asked. She was torn between a smile and frown as Tari considered, then shook her head, then nodded. It seemed Tari wasn't so sure, either. "How about we move you out to the couch? I can do my research in the living room while you watch tv. And if you don't feel better by tomorrow, we'll call the Lab." This got the first spark of interest from Tari all morning. A slightly more energetic nod followed, Tari easily being coerced by the mention of more televee. The golden Raevan held out her arms, silently demanding she be carried out to the couch. "Uh uh," Kali held up a warning finger. "First, you promise me one thing. If you feel worse than you do right now, you tell me right away. No waiting for tomorrow to see the Doctor if you've only getting worse. Okay?" "Okies," Tari immediately agreed. Easy promise. Televee or the Labs, both were interesting enough for Tari. And it wasn't like she enjoyed this feeling of sickness. Promises made, Kali bent and picked up her daughter. Tari kept a grip on her top blanket, dragging it with her as Kali carried her daughter out of the room.

META: Stage 3 - Hibernation Characters: Kali, Tariel Status: In Progress - 1/1Kali walked back into the living room at the end of the day to check on Tari's progress. Her daughter was bundled up on the couch, eyes closed and breathing lightly. The tv blared in the background. Locating the remote, Kali turned the sound off. She glared at the electronic device as though it could be blamed for Tari's predicament. Heaving a sigh, she perched on the armrest of the couch and looked down at Tari's sleeping face. She seemed peaceful. Kali reached out a hand to check the Raevan's temperature again. Still a bit warm, but what else could you expect after spending a day under a blanket and a doona cover? Kali debated calling the Lab despite her agreement with Tari. Her son had never been sick a day in his life. Had some almighty emo fits, yes, especially after relationships that turned sour, but never actually sick. Kali was unprepared, and possibly a little paranoid about it. She wanted one of the doctors at the Lab to tell her that Tari was going to be alright. She snorted. My, how the mighty had fallen. She, the centuries-old dragon-trapped-as-a-human who feared nothing, wanting reassurance over something that would likely turn out to be exhaustion or a minor cold. Kali had to laugh at herself. What an unlikely parent she was! Trying to rouse Tari to see if she wanted dinner was an exercise in futility. Tari turned in her sleep, murmured something unintelligible and continued to look so peaceful that Kali gave up. First thing tomorrow, however, she was checking on Tari and if her daughter refused to wake they were heading straight to the Labs. Feeling hopelessly emotional, Kali pressed a kiss to Tari's forehead. "Sleep well. Please get better." Standing, Kali turned off the tv and left the room. Tari remained bathed in the glow of a dim lamp, the tiny light like a kernel of hope in Kali's chest... or a slumbering virus in Tari's. * * * An annoying, insistent buzzing roused Kali from her sleep. She batted at the source of the noise, which paused for only a moment before starting up again. Growling dangerously in warning, Kali very slowly began to rouse. There had better be a damn good reason for this, or something (or someone) was going to face Kali's wrath. The buzzing slowly resolved itself into words. Or rather, one word, repeated over and over again. "-ma. Mama. Mama. Mama." "Tari?" Kali bolted upright, instantly awake (or at least giving the appearance of it). Memories of the day before came flooding back, along with all the worry for her daughter. "What is it? What's wrong? Should I call the Labs?" To Kali's surprise, Tari gave a bright, bubbling laugh. "Mama is awake? Tari hungry! Breakfast, please!" There, before Kali's eyes, was her bright and energetic daughter. Tari was almost buzzing, darting around in the air like a hummingbird, trying to get her mother moving. Kali smiled in relief. No need to call the Lab, after all. It seemed Tari was going to be just fine. How little Kali knew.

META: Stage 4 - Outbreak Characters: Kali Status: Complete - 1/1Posted to the Lab305 Hotline:A brisk voice began speaking. "Doctor Kyou, this is Kali. Uh, Tari's guardian. Something very strange is occurring, just as your voicemail message describes. Tari is even more emotional than usual - who knew that was possible," came the quieter aside, as though Kali forgot she was being recorded. "She's more demanding, and even seems to be leading other Raevans astray. I think I saw her rune flashing a very sickly green, but she took off top quickly for me to be sure..." A sigh. "Anyway, she's refusing to come home and just ran off. I'm in pursuit, but if she decides it'll be more 'fun' to come to the Labs before I can contain her, please be aware that she's very likely infected with what you were mentioning. I'll let you know how things develop on my end." A click, and the recording ends. The next message has a familiar voice. "I forgot to say, if Tari does appear at the Labs without me, please call me back and let me know. Otherwise I'll bring her in when I catch her." A deep murmur in the background. Louder, but still not directly into the phone, "No, I do not want to buy a ticket, I just need to find my daughter who ran in here! What, no, why should I pay, I'm not going to be looking at anything... Goddamn overcharging swine ... s**t, is this still on?" Click.
