To say Tariel resisted entering the Lab would be a lie. The golden Frei flew through the doors into the reception area, and it was Kali who had to keep breaking into a run to keep up. Inside, Tariel peered around, looking for someone new to play with.
"Hello~?" she called out. "Does anyone want to play with Tari?"
Finally able to come to a stop without losing her daughter again, Kali rested her hands on her thighs, bent over and trying not to pant. She hadn't thought she was out of shape - not until being forced to chase her daughter through a mall, a museum, and then keep her in sight on the way to the Lab. Which she had completely lied to Tari about, claiming she was bringing her daughter here so that Tari could play with other Raevans.
"Stop... yelling," Kali huffed. Oh god, her feet were killing her. She loved her heeled boots, had never had a problem with them. Had never spent several hours running in them, either.
Tari's green eyes narrowed. "Why is no one here? If there's no one for Tari to have fun with, then Tari is leaving," she warned. Golden claws tapped against the armour on her forearms, arms crossed under her chest.
Kali hid a wince. Already there were tears in her shirt, edged in drying blood, from scratches earned when she had separated Tari from her new friend Domevlo at the museum. Hence the lies to make Tari come here willingly, before the angelic Raevan did some serious damage to someone.
"Someone's here," Kali forced a smile. "I promise."

Kyou was making a quick meal for dinner in the kitchen when he heard the voices coming from the lobby. Who could it be? The scientist weren't expecting anyone today. He had treated a few Raevans up until now, Alex had been helping out too with Raevans that couldn't visit the laboratory. In fact. she is currently out on one of those visits right now. Maybe something came up and they couldn't arranged an appointment beforehand? That is probably it.
Turning off the stove, he let the fried egg simmer in the pan as he washed his hands at the nearby sink. Swiftly taking off his apron and hanging it on the wall, the scientist exited the kitchen and entered the lobby with just a black turtleneck sweater and a pair of casual jeans. "Tariel!" he exclaimed, it was difficult not to spot the Raevan in golden armor. "And Miss Kali too." It was then he noticed the tears in her shirt. "Oh my God, are you alright?" concern laced his voice as he jogged over to the woman. Is this... could it be? With a hand on Kali's arm, Kyou glanced up warily at Tariel.

"Doctor," Kali glanced up as Kyou entered. Immediately, she felt relief sweep over her. The doctor was in, and surely he'd know how to cure Tari.
She blinked at Kyou's concerned tone. Remembering the cuts, she glanced down at her arms. "Ah, I'm fine," she said, feeling a bit awkward. She wasn't one to normally get injured so easily, but she could hardly fight back against her sick daughter. "Just a bit of trouble convincing Tari to leave a new friend at the museum. But she's here now and ready to play." Kali gave Kyou a meaningful glance as she emphasised the last word.
The Raevan in question floated over at the mentioning of more playing. "Yes. Going home is boring, Tari wants to play some more. Kyou will play, yes? Or call Laz if he is here?"
Behind Tari's back, Kali mouthed 'INFECTED' at the doctor. Hopefully he could play along so that Tari wouldn't run away or turn violent before the cure was administered.

Kyou's eyes widen just a little as he caught Kali's hints, understanding her meaning immediately. His wary glance changing to a more friendly one as he play along with Kali's game. "Why yes, we could play a game called..." he paused, he needed to think fast. 'Doctor' doesn't sound very fun. "Show and tell." Although the moment the words came out of his mouth he regretted saying them. Very creative Kyou.
However, he had to make do with the mistakes he made. "I will tell you how to play, but first, you will need to follow me to a room." he said, smiling at the golden Frei. Turning around, he urged both Tariel and Kali to follow him as he walked towards Tsu's office. Kyou didn't turn on the air conditioning because he didn't know anyone was coming in today, but if he could trick Tariel into taking the shot, it wouldn't matter very much. This feels like Lucia's visit just a couple days ago, only difference is that Tariel seemed a little bit more intimidating.
Reaching the office, Kyou opened the door to let the ladies in first. "Please enter, I promise this will be a lot of fun. I will call Lazarus down later." he winked playfully at Tariel.

Tari took the bait. She floated along behind Kyou as he led her to the room where they could play. "Tari hasn't heard of 'show and tell'. What kind of game is it?"
"Oh, it's a very fun game," Kali replied immediately. "You'll love it."
Making a suspicious noise, Tari glanced sideways at her mother. "Why is mama coming? Mama doesn't play games - sooooo boring," she complained to Kyou.
Crossing her arms over her chest, Kali felt a bit insulted. She took Tari everywhere Tari wanted to go, let Tari have playdates with other Raevans, kept her clothes and fed and loved... And that wasn't enough? Kali had to somehow be more 'fun', too?
Forcing a smile, Kali said, "Mama will just watch. You and Doctor Kyou have fun, and Lazarus, too, when he arrives."
This seemed to mollify Tari, though she sped up to float closer to Kyou than to Kali.
Kali felt a migraine coming on.

When Kali and Tariel entered the room, Kyou closed the door and locked it quietly behind them, just in case Tariel decided to make a run for it. Though he also realized that they may be trapped with a potentially dangerous Raevan. He just have to make sure Tariel fall for his trick.
"Please take a seat here, and I will take a seat over there." Kyou said as he motioned Tariel towards one of the seats in front of the desk, then he took the one behind the desk. His mind racing to figure out how to do this without raising the Raevan's suspicion. Eyeing the golden Raevan, he need Tariel to remove the armor on her arms first.
"Wait a moment." he muttered as he opened Tsu's many desk drawers, rummaging through them. He was sure Tsu would have one of those in here somewhere. Opening the fourth drawer, he found what he was looking for - a deck of cards. "Okay, here is a deck of cards." he started explaining as he took the cards out of the box, shuffling them in his hand. "You and I will draw one card each, the person that draws the higher number wins, and the loser will have to remove one article of clothing that the winner requested. You game?" he added in the end, his tone challenging. Yes he is playing strip poker with Tariel, only this isn't really poker either. Kyou knew he was at a disadvantage since he is wearing lesser clothing than Tariel. He wished he was still wearing the apron he had on earlier.
Holding his breath, Kyou withdrawn a card from the middle of the shuffled deck, praying for the best. A ten of hearts! Now that isn't too bad a start. "If I win, you will need to remove your left hand's gauntlet." he said in a confident tone.

Both Tari and Kali's eyebrows rose as Kyou described the game that would be played. Kali in shock, and Tari in dawning realisation that this was a very adult game. The kind of game everyone else would insist she needed a tummy before she could play. Colour rose in her cheeks. In that moment, she decided Kyou was wonderful even if he wasn't God, because he was the only person treating her like she wasn't a baby.
"Alright," Tari agreed, bobbing up and down in her seat. A gauntleted hand reached out and turned over the top card. Seven of spades. Tari pouted. "Unlucky. But! Tari will do better next time." The angelic frei gave a decidedly devilish smirk, eyeing Kyou in the way she'd normally eye off a tasty looking branch of sakura blossoms.
Kali watched, worry etched across her face. She felt a little strange watching Tari act this way. Wasn't it the parent's job to make the child need therapy, not the other way around?
Tari sighed as she began unbuckling the left gauntlet. A promise was a promise, and surely she'd be luckier next time. It hadn't escaped her notice that Kyou wasn't wearing many layers to begin with, so there was a better chance of him losing before Tari did. When the armor came off, Tari placed at the far left side of the table. It wouldn't be easy for her to grab it in a hurry. Resting her chin on her now-bare hand, she smiled at Kyou. "Kyou's turn!"

While Tariel was busy taking off her gauntlet, Kyou had sneakily took the hydrogen sulfide needle out from the drawer. Good thing he always kept one in Tsu's office just in case, and it came into use today. As the angelic Frei place her gauntlets at the far end of the table, the scientist placed the needle onto the table quietly as well, hiding it behind a stack of books. A confident smile never left his face, he has to keep his game face now or else he'll suffer the consequences.
Good, now that her arm is bare, he could inject the needle when he has the chance. Although chances are not given, they are earned, so Kyou still need to stick to the game. He prayed silently that this will turn out well.
"Wait." Kyou suddenly exclaimed, holding a finger up. "There is one more punishment." A sly smile spread across his lips. "The loser - you, will need to hold out your arm like this as well, and close your eyes." he said as he laid out his sleeved arm on the table, his underside facing upwards. "Then I will doodle something on it, it is kind of like a punishment upon a punishment, added humiliation if you know what I mean. Although, if you don't want to accept this, I guess we could end the game early." he feigned disappointment, pouting a little at Tariel. Inwardly, he pray to God that Tariel will fall for his bait.

Tari jerked and bolted upright when Kyou told her to wait. She listened to the new rule, scowling a little. It was very unfair to change the rules in the middle of the game. She doubted Kyou would have added this in if he'd lost the first round. But still, now the rule was there and if Tari won next time...
"So, if Tari wins next, she gets to draw on Kyou, too?" she confirmed. The smile playing over her lips was anything but angelic.
Watching them both, Kali was glad this was about to be over. She had a horrible vision of a shirtless Doctor Kyou with 'property of Tariel' scrawled across his chest. Possibly also flowers or angel wings.
"Okay." Tari obligingly stuck her arm out across the table to Kyou. "But Tari is winning the next one!"

It was a close call, but at least Tariel obliged to the new rule as she laid down her arm, exposing the underside to Kyou. Eyeing the fair skin of the Frei, he found the spot to inject the needle into.
"Yeap, you can draw whatever you like!" he said, smiling playfully as he took a black marker from Tsu's stationary holder, toying with it in his hand. "Now shut your eyes Tariel, you're not supposed to see the drawing until it is done." He was glad that despite a little bit of silent protest, Tariel obliged as well.
Placing down the black marker quietly, he quickly got to work. Taking out the needle, he took a readily soaked cotton ball from a container nearby, dabbing the cool liquid onto Tariel's wrist. Not two seconds passed between the exchange of the cotton ball and the needle as the scientist quickly penetrated the sharp end through her skin with great accuracy, injecting the yellow liquid into her system. Kyou took a quick glance at the gauntlet at the far end of the table, then warily at Tariel's other arm which was still wearing the gauntlet. If anything happens now, at least he will know that the hydrogen sulfide had already entered her body.

Tari huffed at the extra 'new rule'. Luckily for the doctor, she was used to seeing games on tv that revolved around someone closing their eyes, so she didn't think this was anything more than Kyou adding more rules in his favour. Letting Kyou take hold of her arm, Tari heaved a melodramatic sigh. Green eyes fluttered closed.
"Ready," Tari chimed in sing-song tones.
The expected pressure of a marker never came. Instead something damp swiped across her wrist. Tari was frowning when the sharp jab came. She yelped, eyes flying open, scrambling backwards as the animal instinct of 'flight' took over. The 'injured' arm pressed to her chest. Realising the damage was already done, Tari's face twisted into a snarl. A leap, and she was in midair, diving across the table with the still-gauntleted hand outstretched. Wicked claws closed on the air in front of Kyou's face. The golden figure was dragged backwards by human arms slung under Tari's armpits, locking up above her shoulders. Tari thrashed like a fish out of water. Slowly, eventually, her struggles weakened. Kali slumped to the floor, Tari flopped in her lap, both females panting.
Kali recovered first. She hadn't just been injected, after all. She gathered the still-panting Tari into her arms and stood. "She's okay, isn't she?" Kali asked the doctor.
Tari's green eyes were glazed over, eventually fluttering closed. Her breathing began to even out, though she was covered in sweat, making it appear as though the fever had hit again. Hopefully all she needed was a night's rest for the cure to work its way through Tari's system.

Kyou instinctively backed away as Tariel leapt towards him, he knew though that he don't have anywhere to run behind the desk. So he closed his eyes, expecting the worse, but somehow the claws never made contact with his face. He opened his eyes when he heard the sounds of thrashing, and was glad to found that Kali had the Frei restrained.
"Yes, she will be fine." Kyou replied as Tariel slowly fell unconscious in Kali's arm, panting slightly too due to the shock he got just seconds earlier. He was already half expecting the Frei to attack him, but when it did happened it was still... terrifying. If Kali weren't there to grab her, things might have been worse. "Thank you, for restraining her." It was partially his mistake too for not having a firm hold on the armored Frei.
Getting up, the scientist walked around the desk towards the pair of female. He observed the sleeping Frei carefully, her chest heaving slightly, slow breathing; holding up a hand to her forehead he felt her temperature, despite the sweat on her skin, it was low. The hydrogen sulfide is taking its effect.
"If all goes well, she should be awake in six to eight hours." Kyou explained to Kali. "We will be keeping an eye on her and taking frequent blood pressure throughout that period. When she wakes up, I will draw out some of her blood for some more tests just to be sure the virus is out of her system." Then he motioned at the examination bed at the other side of the room. "You can place her there, and... if you want to stay, feel free to use the lab's facility as you please."

Kali nodded along as Kyou spoke. She didn't take in much more than his reassurance that Tari would be fine. It had been a long few days - Tari "sick", then better, then running completely wild. It was a good thing Kyou hadn't been hurt; Kali knew her daughter would have been distraught once she woke. It was bad enough they could never go back to that museum - trying to avoid the Lab due to guilt would be impossible.
Lifting Tari, Kali moved her daughter to the bed Kyou had indicated. Part of her wanted to protest and just take Tari home, but after the last 'recovery' that hadn't been, she didn't want to take any chances.
"Thank you," she said. "I think I... need to go wash my face." Sweat also covered Kali, though for different reasons. Maybe after wiping it off, and finding a drink, she'd feel more... human... again. What a strange expression. More normal, perhaps.
She patted Tari and arranged her more comfortably on the bed. The other gauntlet was removed and placed with the first, in case Tari began fidgeting in her sleep. Satisfied she could do no more, Kali left with a backwards glance at the unconscious figure.
Tari slept on through the night. She would awake in the morning, recovered and wracked with guilt over her actions, barely able to squeak out apologies to Doctor Kyou. When she and Kali finally made their way home, Tari would be mentally writing a list of people she needed to make amends to.
