Participants: Domevlo and Tariel Place: Gambino Museum Time: Early Afternoon Weather: Partly cloudy, windy.
It had been weeks since Domevlo could get out. After suffering from a fever that had him out for at least three days, he spent the last few days recovering. Now that he was back on his (ribbon? XD), he demanded to get out and enjoy a day alone. Even with the virus, Xan wanted to give Domevlo a sense of responsibility. For the most part he hadn't been as violent as the others; word the cowboy had gotten from Alex through continued contact over the phone. Xan was definitely thankful for that...
And so with a firm promise from the lead frei he allowed his charge a free day. Slipping off the bus, Domo looked around the excitement he felt displayed in his expressive eyes. He took his time floating down the boardwalk that lead to his favorite museum. No telling how many times he'd gone to the place with Thanatos, this was the first time alone. Already he had plans to stay until the very last bus.
Holding two tickets to the museum in hand it was kinda sad that he'd be by himself but Domo didn't mind so much. He'd just save the extra ticket for another trip. Finally stopping in front of the building he took a moment to gawk at it. The massive structure had been in the neighborhood for many years, built sometime ago. So many artifacts graced the walls but his favorite was the building itself. Made of all kinds of mallable metals and one as dear to his heart as his essence. "Feeding time!" He gleed floating toward the line forming outside.

Giggling madly, Tari escaped out the glass doors at the bottom floor of the mall. Noooo, no home times, Tari was having too much fun. Home got kind of boring, all Tari had to entertain herself there was televee (which she loved, really, but OUTSIDE was so much fun). Shopping had been great, but now Tari was itching for more fun.
This wasn't at all like being lost, she excused herself. Tari knew exactly where she was. And with Kali no doubt not far behind, it was more like... like TAG, Tari decided. A great game of tag! Tari was "it" and mama had to chase her.
Still, hiding place, hiding place...
Green eyes lit up as they took in the big 'MUSEUM' sign next door. Tari darted over, spying large doors. Her attempt to enter, though, was blocked by a burly man at a rope barrier. "Ticket!" he bellowed. "You need a ticket to enter."
Tari blinked. She didn't think the stub of her movie ticket counted, somehow. But that had required money! Tari had no money, and worse yet, very little time before mama reached the mall exit and caught up to Tari. Glancing wildly around, she spied a floating grey figure approaching the museum entrance. Yes!
Darting over, she attached herself to the other Raevan's arm. "Hi!" she beamed, then immediately broke into giggles. "Hide Tari, kay?" She darted behind him, trying to keep the male's bigger bulk between her and the mall.

"Hide?" Domo wondered what this was all about. For a raevan to suddenly show up -- and a shinny one at that -- she was quite bold. For a moment he thought about shoving her away but it seemed like she was playing a game. What was it called again? Oh! Right hide-n-seek! "Domo know this game.. hide and seek... Tari.. Tari is hiding?" He asked and nudged her softly.
Looking to the spare ticket he had he smiled the gesture lighting his bright eyes. "Domo give Tari ticket! Go inside no see from outside, hokay?" That was the best logic he could provide. Thankfully they were at the front of the line and Domevlo quickly handed over both tickets. The gate guarded eyed the golden frei for a moment then Domo with a weary gaze. "She with you?"
Frowning Domo puffed up. "Yes! Tari with Domo!" With a grunt the man took the tickets tearing off the stub and handing it back. "Alright... go inside hide Tari, yes?"

With a squee of excitement, Tari glomped Domo as he handed over the much-needed tickets to get inside. "Yes, Tari and Domo go inside and hide," she agreed, happily tugging on Domo's arm to ensure he followed. This would be even more fun with another person along.
Inside, she paused to gape at the grand entrance foyer. "So big. Which way should Tari and Domo go to hide?" Huge eyes attempted to take everything in at once. After a few moments, she remembered herself and glanced back at the doors. "Must move fast. Tari's mama will chase Tari."
It was all great game, a way to extend the day. And Tari got to have a second playdate, right after the first one ended.
Under the influence of the virus, Tari's speech seemed to be improving, though Tari was too concerned with following her impulses to notice. And sadly, since this was the first time Tari and Domo had met, the other Raevan wouldn't know to notice anything either...

Once inside, Domevlo looked around in awe even though he'd been there plenty of times before it still was as exciting as the first time. With Tari at his side the excitement was much bigger. At her request he looked outside then back at her, "Domo go this way a lot, it's great exhibit." He announced taking Tari by the hand he lead them further into the building mingling with the crowd of people that were gathering.
Once they were farther away from the entrance he slowed down looking around then at Tari. "Why does Tari want to hide from mama? Did Tari's mama upset you?" He wondered about this while looking around for a woman who seemed worried about a lost child or Raevan. "Domo come alone so no have Cow-thing spoil fun. Be here all day with Tari if want." Somehow with all the excitement the virus stirred to life coiling deep inside him awaiting to attack. For Domevlo he was none the wiser only feeling a slight warmth inside him. "Where does Tari want go now?"

Tari followed along, trusting Domo to get them somewhere out of sight. She wasn't sure what an 'exhibit' was - for Tari, learning was done in front of the television, not in libraries or museums.
More important was the fact that Domo didn't know about hide'n'seek? "It's a game!" she told him, horrified that he didn't know. "Hiding and seeking. This time, Tari is hiding. And mama is seeking. Because Tari wants to keep having fun, not go home - too boring!"
She blinked at 'cow-thing'. She wasn't sure what Domo meant, or if that was aimed at her mama or not. But Domo continued on that they could stay here the rest of the day, and Tari was happily distracted by that.
"Yay!" she squealed, hugging Domo once again. She thought about what she'd like to see. "Japan! And ... angels! Tari wants to see those."

Domevlo gave a slight whence at the hug, he wasn't used to close contact like this but it wasn't not pleasant. Somehow he liked it and Tari's refreshing youthfulness was similar to his own. Watching her as she spoke he kept a blank expression, allowing his mind to wrap around all she had to say. As she tried to explain hide n' seek to him he thought about it for a moment before the secret smile that spread along his hidden lips began to shine through his expressive eyes. "Ooh, Domo see. So Tari's mama is looking for her? Then Domo help hide." And that was that, they moved further into the museum ignoring some of the exhibits at first, these weren't his favorite though dino-sores were an interesting to look at if not for how big they could get.
"These are dino-sores! Really big big things, Domo not like but nice to look at. We go this way..." At Tari's request to see Japan and angels, Domevlo was thrown for a loop. "Wha... what is Jay-pan?" He had no clue. Any chance to learn something new was looked upon as great thing. "Domo not know what Jay-pan is." He didn't stop only moving them further into the building bypassing the dinosaurs and heading further into time. He wondered if there were a part of the museum that would have this Jay-pan stuff and angels... thinking it over he waited for an explanation from Tari.

"Yay!" Tari cheered as Domo agreed to help her hide. She hadn't played hide and side in a way that let her hide with others before. She thought it would be much more fun this way. Hiding on your own was kind of lonely...
"Why doesn't Domo like dinosaurs?" Tari asked they moved off. She'd seen them on televee, attacking people and sometimes giant apes. Did the museum have a pet one somewhere? She hoped it was tame.
Of course, that was when Domo asked The Question. Coming to a halt, Tari stared at him, mouth hanging open. "D-Domo doesn't know Japan?" she demanded, unbelieving. "Japan is the best country ever. Tari is from Japan. Well, Tari's hair was from Japan... And Varun-fishy is dressed from Japan. It is... BEST." Tari's speech degenerated a little in her emotional quest to explain what Japan was. Domo might as well have asked what angels were and Tari couldn't have been more shocked.
"Alright!" Tari decided "After dinosaurs, we find Japan exhibit and show Domo Japan!"

He didn't know what angels were either but wasn't about to voice this. Nodding his head as Tari explained what Japan was, he thought about it a moment. "Con-tree?" Apparently learning new things took a lot of effort as he'd not learned about Japan being a place rather then a what or who. Maybe the museum did have a place with stuff from Japan.
At the mention of Tari's hair being from there he reached out to touch it gently. "Soft. Tari's hair is long and pretty." He smiled but for somehow it was not conveyed through his eyes. "Domevlo ..." Shaking his head he corrected himself, leaning to sniff at her hair a rather pedatory expression in his eyes. "I like it. Does Tari know a lot about Japan?" He asked genuinely his eyes shifting for a moment in the direction they were going he ushered them further until they had made it to ancient Rome.
Returning his attention to her he asked another question. "What else is in Japan?"

Tari stuttered to a halt when Domo reached out to pet her hair. A few blinks later and she broke down into giggles. It kind of tickled, and she wasn't used to people petting her hair. "Thank you, Domo," she chirped. "Tari likes your ears. They look like feathers."
The exhibit of ancient Rome earned "oooh"s and "aaah"s from the golden Frei. It was filled with pretty things, but they were kind of crumbly and faded. Some of the statues were half-naked and that earned a double take and the widest eyes Tari had ever made. Blushing red, she moved on, ducking through an archway towards the Pre-Raphaealite art section.
"There are lots of things in Japan," she picked their conversation back up. "Sakura trees - they taste soooo good. Kimono clothes and jackets, like Varun wears. Funny curving swords. Lots of things."

Domo listened animatedly glad that she wasn't offended for playing with her hair. As they moved through the Rome exhibit he blinked at all the naked statues and figures. Did people dress this way in that era? He had wondered about all this as they continued through to an area he had yet to see. This was definitely new...
Staring off into the distance his attention had momentarily been distracted by a painting that was held on the wall. It was bathed in a bluish light making it quite erethral. "What's that?" He asked not even sure Tari knew but used to asking for answers when he wasn't very aware. There was a picture of a half naked being with wings as white as snow, they had cloth drapped over their body which seemed to float in the wind.
"That is... " catching his breath he turned to Tari with a twinkle to his eyes. "It's beautiful.. like Tari."

Tari wandered over, perking up at the idea of something that looked like her. A painting of Japan, or a Japanese lady? Neither of those, she discovered. In fact, nothing Japanese in nature at all. But what it was made Tari catch her breath.
"Angel," she breathed out. Entranced, she slowly drifting closer and closer to the painting. She blinked when her nose almost touched the canvas and darted back to be next to Domo. "See his wings? And he's up in the clouds, in Heaven. That means he's an angel." Her own wings twitched unconsciously.
It was a beautiful painting, but Tari eventually moved to the next one. She was rewarded with another angelic subject. This one was fully clothed, wearing armor, and despite the feminine face and skirt the figure wore, Tari knew this wasn't a woman. The angel held a sword in one hand, aimed down at the prone figure beneath its feet.
Tari couldn't even drift, held firmly in place as unknown emotions swept through her. She didn't need to check the description plate next to the painting to know who this was. "Michael." The word erupted as a sigh. Her heartbeat thrummed through her body, deafening to her own ears. Something rose from within to lodge in her throat, as though her soul were trying to escape her body in order to be closer to this representation of a forgotten ideal.
It must have been several minutes that Tari stood there, hypnotised, though it felt like an eternity. Domo must be getting a little worried by now...

"Angel?" The inquiry was on automatic, having learned what an angel was he hadn't quite picked up on what soul Tari possessed. Judging by the way she reacted he could have guessed correctly by this point but he didn't pry. Instead he watched her for a time, falling into his own thoughts on souls and other raevans.
While she viewed the paintings his mind wondered, falling on thoughts of the guardians. What made them pick the souls they did for their Raevans? What had been the driving force behind his own soul? As his mind wondered the single name brought him back to reality, blinking away stray thoughts. "Michael?" He repeated before turning his gaze to the painting. It was quite striking, beautiful if he could say so. "Is this an angel too?" He questioned mostly for his own benefit but if he got a response it was just as well.
Though when he didn't get a response his gaze fell on the angel before him with worry. "Tari? Are you okay?" Floating idly he touched her shoulder lightly to bring her back to him. "Is something wrong?"

Domo's touch to her shoulder brought Tari out of her trance. Shaking her head in an effort to clear it, she turned to Domo and smiled. "Yes, Michael is an angel. An archangel. He's the leader of God's army, the best warrior there is..."
Envy... yearning... loss...
Another shake. "Tari is fine," she replied brightly. Too brightly. "Just... Tari thinks maybe she would like a sword, too."
She slowly began moving again, aware that if she stayed to stare at paintings of Michael for the rest of the day, her mama would catch up and Tari would be home before she and Domo found a room for Japan or dinosaurs.
"This room likes angels a lot," she noticed. Even in the paintings with half-naked ladies, or nuns, there were tiny winged babies or beautiful-faced full grown angels. Another day, Tari decided, she would have to come back here and explore this room properly. For now, they were slipping through another archway, to who knew where this time...

The idea of Tari with a sword seemed right for her but Domevlo didn't voice this as he smiled under his mask. At times like this he was thankful for such a little detail. As they moved from the angel room they entered another room that was a drastic contrast from before.
It seemed like it had a theme of men who once worked in dark parts of the world. Showing pictures of miners who were in charge of mining for lead and various precious metals. Domevlo at first didn't know how to react to this room. As many times as he'd come to the museum he'd yet to explore all the rooms, and to think there was one room he could certainly appreciate.
Slipping inside he looked around gazing at all the pictures of the miners, each one holding shovels, gloves, wearing strange hats with lights, all the necessary items required for mining. There were samples of all the utensils the men used in casings not too far away, with it was a simulation of the mines but most importantly was the lead and precious metals that had been mined on display for all the museum goers to view. Domo quickly floated over hands pressed tight against the glase. "Want." He breathed heavily eyes glazing over at the block of lead that lay just beyond his reach.
"I want..." he repeated. As he spoke his rune flashed a soft green growing brighter with each moment. "Come." The simple command caused the block of lead to shake, it shifted and soon fell flat like a puddle of water only it retained some form of solidity. Shifting and molding itself it tapped against the glass. "Come now!" And in that instant the glass shattered the lead coiled itself around the monochrome frei. "Mine now... all mine..." Rubbing his cool cheek around the moving lead he began molding it to himself glad for the reinforced energy that came with feeding on the malleable material.
Although he seemed to have forgotten where he was when a loud whistle filled the dimly lit room. "Hey! Stop right there!" Men dressed in strange uniforms ran into the room waving sticks in hand as they pushed forward past the growing crowd.
