Bouncing on quick feet the petite figure tried to keep up with the caretakers from the orphanage as well as the other wandering horde of children. So many colors, smells and new sights left shy little Malik soon lost in the chaos. It wasn’t all bad. Once alone he found a stall handing out delicious soft fluffy candy; what was it called again? Eyes practically glowing he bounced once more, giggling when the soft fluff melted upon his tongue. Spying another enjoying a similar treat Malik found his gaze wandering to their magnificent tail, a curious unbidden hum leaving now sticky lips. Attempting to be bold he stepped closer with a shy grin ”Hello..is yours a different flavor?” Head nodding towards the others treat his gaze swept back to look over the figures shimmering scales..hoping he wasn’t being rude. ”I-i hope it’s not rude but, you have beautiful scales..”
Prosper had had mixed feelings about the event. Usually, it was an enjoyment. Years prior he had always forced his brother to come along, get a bit of socialization and enjoyment in the crowd. He did love it after all.
Unfortunately, his kids had a knack for causing enough mischief to ruin the whole splendor. Especially Rebel, that brat. Where could he have run off too... Pink eyes peered around, looking for any sign of the trouble makers. He was able to find one at least.
But that was his husband. Quite different. "Gem!" he raised a hand, some of the straw that he stuffed in his sleeves making it extremely uncomfortable to raise it all the way. Going as a scarecrow was a terrible idea. He should have been a cow. Or a fox. Gemini might have looked like a cat, but he was looking like a pretty tasty one. Prosper licked his lips. "You--uh. Look like quite the kitten." he grabbed the man's hands, wincing. That was lame. "Why didn't you tell me that you were going to dress up like a cat? We could have been matching." He let out a groan. That would have been cute. Why hadn't he thought of that before? "Now I look lame and you look fantastic. I'm going to have to watch out for other nightmares trying to lay a hand on you." he looked around. It wouldn't surprise him if there were scoundrels in the area.
Speaking of scoundrels, a freshling approached, taking him by surprise. They offered a rock which Prosper gladly took..before offering it up to his love. "Since you like things." Something seemed to be written on it, but honestly, he had no use for a stupid rock. Might as well give it to his hoarder. INVENTORY
Emmerate wasn't even wearing a costume. These were clothes from back from the past. His old pirating gear---down to the eyepatch and the litany of jewels around his belt. It was easy, it made him blend into the normal crowd. Most importantly, it made Vega happy.
He was starting to regret agreeing to match, though.
Deep purple eyes glazed over momentarily as he stared at Vega with a blank look. He looked so much like them. Memories rushed passed, his lips parted as a curdling scream echoed in his mind, seemingly taking over. His body went stiff, perspiration forming on his brow even though he wasn't even wearing a shirt. This was bad. Very bad.
But as soon as Vega moved, it went away.
A long sigh left Emmerate's lips without thought. This was Vega. He was in the present. He needed to get his mind in the now instead of what happened before. "You look stunning." he breathed out, his free hand brushing against the other's cheek. His boyfriend really was going to be the death of him. Not like that was a bad thing. Better than dying from sepsis or a broken heart.
A plushie? Emmerate laughed, fishing out the one that he had previously recieved. "I got one too. It must be destiny." he flashed them a toothy smile before placing his own in his bag. "Are you going to name the little guy? " An elderly nightmare passed him by and held out a toothbrush. Reluctantly, he took it.
"Great, dental hygiene is important." Not enough to be giving out toothbrushes though. It wasn't going to make him remember to brush his teeth. INVENTORY
Nym...what was he even doing? Liv's eyebrows shot up, icy blue eyes wide as can be as she stared. She couldn't even judge, she was so in shock. As soon as the surprise washed over, her lips turned into a smirk. Before she started chuckled. "A---A clown?!" One of her large slaugh hands wrapped around her middle as she started to chuckle, completely forgetting about her own embarrassing clean up job. "What, you didn't have any regular clothes to wear?" Who would have thought something as garish as that was a good idea? "Why are you even here if you don't want to be here?"
Oh wait. That's right. "Does the baby need some free candy?" Wouldn't surprise her if he did come only for that reason. Heh.
A dustie bounced towards them both, looking bloody and a bit...well...spooky. It stared, before going into the dust pan that she was holding. Liv was so focused on the man in front of her that she didn't even realize that the familiar was even there.
Mym had a great idea, a fantastic idea. He and his charge Nym, wearing matching clown outfits. What wasn't to love about that? Tricking the nightmare, fortunately, had been a cinch. One of the props of being his guard since Nym was small--he knew his ins and outs.
Which made making bets where Nym was sure to lose--quite enjoyable. Mym smirked at feminine nightmare who was eying him and gave a wink. They were swooning, he was sure. Maybe he'd divulge in their company, perhaps spend the night with them if he was able to pawn off Nym to someone else...Mym made a mental note to look out for the other nightmare who, he noticed, was now blushing before grabbing one of the many pails at a nearby stall and a rock. "Pawsome." That was one way to describe the boy.
Where was that boy...? The man looked around the crowd. Even though the man was short in stature, there was one tidbit that made Nym stand out from the rest---his outfit. A grin brushed across his face at the sight of the brightly colored outfit in the distance before he made his way towards him.
And slowed. He was talking to...a girl? "Is this your girlfriend?" he eyed the person in question up and down, curious. Interesting. She didn't seem like Nym's type, but, at least Nym had someone.
Better yet, Mym could embarress the nightmare in front of his love interest. His tail flickered, eyes shining in glee. "Nice to meet you. Ah, Nym." he rifled through his pocket, fishing out a bright red ball of a nose. "You forgot the most important part of your costume." He gave the nose a squeak. INVENTORY
Buster didn't even notice Baby coming up behind him. Well, not until he heard the sound of his other date's voice calling out to someone. He swiveled around immediately to stare at the other person. Was it one of Knox's close friends again? It seemed like he had a lot of those...His usually big eyes squinted at the person in the witches hat.
Just who were they.....
The feel of pancakes fear echoed in the back of his mind and his eyes lowered towards the stranger's tail. Pancake, on the other hand, took another bottle within his mouth and then moved right behind Knox's tail.
This was no stranger. His gaze widened, concentration no longer there. "Baby!" he tried moving a step closer. Pancake was having none of it and plopped down on the ground. "Do you like it? Knox helped pick it out!" he grinned, patting the large egg on his chest. "You called it sizzling, right?" he looked over to Knox expectantly. Something like that. It seemed like a compliment, even though it was a weird one. It wasn't like he was actually food. INVENTORY
Blitz may have been stupid, but he wasn't that stupid. He could read his boyfriend's body language. Some would say, he could read it to a perfect T. At least, that's what he liked to believe. The times when it was hard to read him were just flukes. Obviously. This time, he could see the naiad's eye roll. Could see his displeased looks.
"What? I like the taste of your lips." he pouted, his lips brushing against the bottle's rim. It---didn't actually taste like Eti. Eti had a better taste. But it didn't taste bad. "It's not creepy." Right? His eyes wavered, unsure. Was it bad to enjoy someone's taste? Wait. That could mean---. Color drained from his face, mouth slowly popping open. "I--I don't want to eat you! I'm not a cannibal! I just--" his mind scrambled and his hands reflected it as they flailed, trying to think of an explanation. "I really like your kisses?" He winced. Ugh, how lame. He squeaked.
Quickly, he pulled another bottle from the shelf. "I--Here! I promise it doesn't taste bad!" Smooth. So smooth. INVENTORY
Now satisfied with his new little ghost friend; Akane hummed and looked about the crowd. His brother had to be here somewhere. Where was Ambrosia...? Honey crisp he would wonder about, but Honeycrisp knew how to take care of himself.
His other brother, on the other hand...well. He was lucky if he got him out of bed. Where had he gone off to? His eyes stilled at the sight of a lump of hey with a very satisfied looking Fey hybrid on top of it.
Ah. He had answered his own question.
Akane idly took another little ghost to give to his brother and started making his way towards the freshling slowly. "Ambrosia, my pet." He dusted off his blue tutu--a relic from his mother's childhood. If he had to dress up like anything, he would have been her. Fortunately, his dad had encouraged it. The alternative bunny ears were....
Well, they were something but cute wasn't one of the words that he'd use to describe them. He looked his brother up and down. At least they didn't look bad on Ambrosia. INVENTORY
Plague loved going to festivals, and adored this time of year. It was his FAVORITE time of year, in fact! as a huge cosplay lover, it gave him a great chance to dress up multiple times when cons weren't going on. Holding onto his big hunk of a mans arm, he wore a matching outfit to pair with his beau. It was another character from the manga, a magical boi, who was... well, in Plague's opinion, a cute love interest to Cure's favorite character. Dawned in a decorated skirt, corset, high boots with bows and ribbons galore, he was very sparkly and frankly... down right adorable.
Doll eyes kept scanning around them, taking in the fun that was surrounding them. Hearing his beloved's voice, the petite sniper peeked up to his towering mate, cheeks instantly prickling with heat from how Cure was looking at him. In that moment he lost his train of thought too, and his lips parted and closed slowly in an attempt to speak, but nothing came out. Not even noticing a passerby slipping in a small ghost into his own bucket. Finally, he shyly hid some of his face against the burly arm of his love, trying to calm his beating heart. The way Plague could so easily fire him up...~
"m-maybe... that one?" he softly murmured, tail curving around to point towards the booth that had skyfish floating around, and nets available at the sides to catch them.
Caspian pulled the hood up a bit more since it had started to slide off a bit, and continued to look around the festival. He saw another table though, and it was filled with even more goodies that they were giving out for free! Though it looked like there was a donation box on the table, so Caspian took a moment to look for some money that he could donate and put it in the box, before he moved to the part of the table with the treats on it.
It was all candy! And it all looked so delicious! He had a hard time deciding on what he wanted! The candy floss looked mouth-watering, but that would have required moving his hood off of his head. Instead he took a simple lollipop and put it in his bucket so that he could enjoy it later. Caspian's Stuff:
Remiry scowled, trying to find her target in the crowd and having no luck. It seemed that they were conveniently hidden, as though they figured a thief was a possibility at such a festival. Of course, that made Remiry wonder why anyone would bring such an expensive item with them to such a place, but people being dumb wasn't up to her. Instead she would just have to find a better way to try and track them down.
While she was still looking around though, she saw a vendor beckon her, and she went over, believing that she would look more suspicious if she didn't go along with all of the activities. The vendor explained that they had little ghosts on sale for a small price, and Remiry shrugged and gave them the money for one of the ghosts. It wasn't as though she was a thief because she was greedy. It was a living after all and she had been forced to drop out of the academy because of reasons outside of her control. Besides, it was fun!
She thanked the vendor, and continued to look, though hopefully without standing out in the crowd.

Albert had been a bit disappointed that he had yet to get any candy. BUT THEN! He saw it! The table! It was full of all sorts of sugary treats that he really shouldn't be having! he made a beeline to it, and threw in quite a bit of money into the donation jar, though he was only going to have one piece right now. After all, just because he wanted to indulge didn't mean he wanted to go and have a heart attack either.
He decided on some candy floss and started to eat it right there and then. He thought about his wife possibly finding him like this, and she would probably laugh at him with how he looked at the moment, but it didn't matter! What mattered was candy!
Brion was staring quite intently at the coffee on the table, and the vendors that were serving the table seemed to be unnerved at the doll's blank staring. In Brion's head though, all he was thinking about was how much he wanted to taste coffee, or tea, or hot chocolate without getting sick from it. But, he was only a doll, and he could only have one type of drink and no food, so he had no idea how any of those items tasted. And he served them every day at his work!
If he really knew anything about emotions, he would have sighed and walked away, but instead he just stared silently until he left as suddenly as he came, leaving the vendors to wonder what had just happened.

Gale had been passing by another game vendor when he saw that it was some sort of target competition. As he was reasonably skilled at hitting targets, he decided that he would try his hand at it. And if he didn't get anything well...
But instead he took the ball, aimed carefully and hit the cups in exactly the right spot to knock them over! The vendor seemed surprised that he would be able to do it, but Gale just smirked at him, and pointed toward a nezubat plush to be added to his now-growing collection of them. Of course what the vendor didn't know what that Gale had added a strength spell to the ball. He knew how these vendors worked. If it was so easy to knock the cups down, then they would be out of business quickly.
Gale walked off, whistling a bit, seeing if he could go and bother someone.
