"Monster!" Hester cried out returning Panpour and hurling out the ice Pokemon Vanillish. A small crowd formed around the battle now especially since there was no major performance going on at the moment. Dusknoir could hear Simon's thoughts about the moves he was calling out to Lairon so he knew the pair wasn't in trouble just yet as he picked Rapidash number two for betting before heading over to the berry bobbing. Using his moves he was able to remove seven berries, collecting the seven tokens and Lum berries like Simon had requested. Hearing the jousting completed he went back over to happily discover his pick was better than Simon's since Simon's choice normally came in last place. Dusknoir's came in second place netting him five more tokens. As the pair continued to battle some people started to root for Hester as he was the underdog until Zuki stepped up and told them that Simon was her friend and he was battling for her honor.

Hester's next Pokemon was Honedge which was indeed a wild card as Lairon didn't have any moves that would do any sort of impactful damage against the steel ghost so he returned him. Sending out Whirlipede was just so it could get a bit of experience as Greninja came out to play. Unsure if Zuki saw Greninja in a real battle he called out for his starter and friend to end this quickly with the powerful water move of hydro pump. Though it was a powerful attack it didn't defeat the ghost in one move. Hester used a decent move of retaliate and because it was hurt in battle the damage was doubled. Shaking off the attack Greninja fired off another blast of water knocking the sword out of the sky.

After Honedge was returned there was another trouble for Lairon in the form of the fire bird Talonflame. Greninja checked on Whirlipede to makes sure that it was okay and safe letting Talonflame get in with a peck that barely hurt Greninja. Turning to face it though Greninja fired off a powerful blast of cold water to extinguish the fiery bird knocking it out of the air in one hit. Knowing that he should be training up Seedot instead and part of him reached out to Whirlipede who was technically trapped in a cocoon stage until it evolved ten levels after evolving into the cocoon. Before sending him home to the ranch Simon wanted Whirlipede to fully evolve, or maybe he wanted to wait until Seedot evolved before sending the pair back. In the long run he wanted Lairon to be a part of his Elite Four team with Greninja, Dusknoir and Noivern. In between rounds Dusknoir returned to Simon giving him the tokens to add to his pouch before returning him. Talonflame was the second to last Pokemon so for the last battle Simon returned Whirlipede and Greninja to send out Lairon again.

Since it was the last round he told Lairon to go all out and use super power. It was his strongest move however each time he used it his attack and defense would go down a stage. Hoping that this would be over quick he called out the move, strengthened by the band he wore. Charging up Lairon smashed into the squid like Pokemon sending it crashing back. Jumping up it fired off a Psybeam, however psychic moves weren't that effective again the steel typing so Lairon braced itself against the move before using another super powered attack. It wasn't as strong as it had been before but it was enough for Hester to be defeated and for Lairon to level up again. According to his Pokenav Lairon had seven more levels to evolve, Whirlipede would evolve in four. Seedot was the closest at one more level which was actually awesome. As soon as he evolved Simon was using the leaf stone so that he could learn better moves. Hester started to walk towards the exit as Simon caught up,"You don't have to leave, just realized that being that aggressive is a bad thing and it pushes people away. If you just relax people might see the real you and be more friendly." Hester nodded and said thanks before walking towards the healing tent.

Heading into the stage area, Huang Chen immediately ran off in search of more games, not wanting to waste any time. Unfortunately for her, it seemed the games here were similar to the games in the main entrance, which was somewhat disappointing. She supposed that the token gathering task wouldn't have been much of a punishment if there were a variety of games to play however. Vince really wasn't messing around. She gave a light sigh, but pushed onward, letting Lin try a froakie plush catapult game while Huang Chen herself made her way over to a crossbow target game. Lin had promised that next time around she would allow her to give the game a shot after all, and now was her chance. She just hoped she could earn just as high of a score as the mega sceptile. Sticking her tongue out on one side and closing an eye, she looked through the little targeting glass and fired at the moving targets. Seven tokens ended up being her turnout, not quite as good as Lin's twelve token record, but still somewhat satisfying for her first try. Lin on the other hand had gotten great distance with her froakie, earning her another ten tokens. Huang Chen sighed. At this rate, she'd never catch up to Lin, but the charmander reminded herself that it wasn't a competition. She just needed to keep trying her best, and stop focusing on what Lin was earning.

Even though Huang Chen was disappointed with the lack of variety in games between areas of the festival, she still wasn't quite desperate enough to put herself near a berry bobbing station. She detested water, and for good reason; it was dangerous for her after all. Perhaps she would be willing to try some other time when she was really bored of the other games, but for now, Lin didn't mind being the only one playing that particular game. It ended up being a decent trade off, because Huang Chen moved off to place a bet on her favorite rapidash, and she ended up placing second! It was a pretty close call too, maybe next time they could go all the way, but for now Huang Chen went back to meet up with Lin, who had earned Vince another six tokens and lum berries. Huang Chen's brows furrowed. How was it that her second place win only earned her five tokens, but Lin could get six with berry bobbing....? She supposed betting took no skill but berry bobbing did, so there was that.
Poppy and Cayenne were set back down once the group reached the new area, once again given permission to explore and play games-- as few as there were. Poppy, who was still determined to try and get a decent score in all the games at least once, made a beeline for the crossbow game once more. Cayenne made to follow her, only to stop and turn to look at the game she'd watched Poppy play twice now. She could... she could probably do that! It'd take a little bit of luck, but she was confident that she could at least break one plate! With a bit of optimism she shuffled over to the stall and rolled a ball towards her, grabbing it in between her paws before she stood on her hindlegs and gave the ball a toss, which missed.. horribly. Not one to give up on the first try, however, she tried twice more and was rather pleased to find that she found her mark, shattering two plates. With her head held high the Cyndaquil waddled away with four tokens and went over to show Poppy.

Cayenne was on her way back to show off her winnings to Poppy when she became distracted by the sounds of cheering and, being the curious little spitfire that she was, she almost instantly swerved around to make a detour; Poppy could, probably, wait, she had to see what all the hubbub was about! As she grew closer she realized that all the cheering was for a... competition of sorts, it was another one of those human with long, pointy stick games! Those silly humans, just where did they come up with these sort of things? Wanting to find, someway, to participate Cayenne ended up betting on one of the humans and watched as a new round began, head tilted to the side curiously. It ended relatively quickly, and with her human coming out in second place of all things! Of course, Cayenne didn't exactly realize this until she was given a few tokens and sent on her way with a pat of the head from an amused boy.
She squeaked happily, taking both the tokens and pat, before she finally moved off to rejoin Poppy. It didn't take long for her to find the Happiny, drenched and grumbling over the meager token she'd received. "You didn't get a berry?" Cayenne questioned, assuming that Poppy had just got done with that weird barrel game again. "No," Poppy practically hissed, eyes narrowing. "It wasn't worth keeping." Cayenne dropped her head at an angle in confusion, unsure just how a berry wasn't worth keeping, before she proudly presented her nine tokens. "Look what I got!" Poppy only rolled her eyes before snatching the tokens to place them, and the few tokens she'd won, into their pouch. "Whatever. Don't think you're any good just because you did more than just bet." With another huff Poppy started forward again, in search of a new game, leaving behind a deflated Cayenne.

Vince chuckled as Olivia specified that if he was going to have his dragons do any damage, he should save it for the end of the fair so that they could at least enjoy the fair first, and then expect punishment from her. Vince rolled his eyes and shook his head with a smile. It wasn't like he would ever do such a thing, but it was amusing nonetheless. "Would you flick my forehead again? Or perhaps take to slapping my wrist?" He teased with a grin. This of course prompted Vince to talk about the misconception of how dragons were the aggressors in human dragon wars. He soon cut himself off though, apologizing when he realized that he'd made the conversation grim, but Olivia dismissed it, insisting that she liked learning something new. Vince nodded appreciatively.
Walking into the staging area, Vince looked around at the various stages, but it seemed like most of the stages were either empty, or the acts and plays were just finishing up. "Hm..." Vince frowned. "Perhaps we came at a bad time." Vince suggested, though he supposed it was also a good time if one thought about it. With nothing going on they had time to look at the different playbills and figure out what they wanted to see, and even possibly get good seats since they were early. By the same token though, he didn't want to sit still and do nothing. He supposed they could play games in the meantime, or...
Vince's eyes drifted off towards a stable area that appeared to be offering ponyta rides and care taking lessons. If Olivia was interested, he wouldn't mind watching her, but it wasn't anything he was particularly interested in doing. There was another area too, a petting zoo similar to the one set up in Fuchsia, with individual pokemon out in pens for display. All of the pokemon seemed quite docile, pokemon like skiddo and miltank, and even a few dragon types such as a dratini and noibat. Both areas did seem more geared towards children, but it wasn't like certain adults couldn't enjoy it too. "They must have these areas for children set up so that parents can enjoy the plays without having their kids wiggling in their seats." Vince mused, pointing out the ponyta ride and the petting zoo areas to indicate what he was talking about.

Since Huang Chen had taken the crossbow station last time, Lin took it this time while the charmander went to see how far she could launch a froakie from a catapult. She actually did pretty well, considering her small size. Seven feet was pretty decent, but just a few feet more would have landed her a whole bunch more tickets. Seeing Lin get nine tickets from the crossbow only dampened her spirits even more. She knew this wasn't a competition but at the same time the charmander couldn't help but feel competitive. It wasn't like she wanted to have more tokens than Lin by the end of this, but damn, she at least wanted to keep up! Huang Chen left Lin to do her berry bobbing. In the meantime she tried picking out another rapidash to bet on, but that was a bad move. She knew she should have stuck with her favorite! Oh well. At least the rapidash she'd picked out didn't to too badly, fourth place was pretty good, even if it only earned her two tokens. Meanwhile Lin came strolling back with eight berries and tokens, and Huang Chen's expression flattened. ("Lin... How many tokens do you have?") She asked, and Lin's cheerful expression grew concerned. ("Little on, we discussed this, my token amount shouldn't be your focus or concern when--")("I know.") Huang Chen interrupted. ("I just... Want to know.") She pleaded. Lin hadn't revealed her total any of the times she'd brought it up, so now the charmander was just curious how they currently fared. ("....82 tokens.") She finally answered. Huang Chen looked at her measly stack of 53 and sighed. ("Yeah... That's what I thought.") Lin frowned, but they had already been over this, and she doubted saying anything more would really change the charmander's mind.
Olivia only smirked when Vince began to list off ways she would punish him if he would dare let his dragons loose, using her actions from back in Santalune as an example. "Oh, no. It'd be much harsher than that," she assured him, her eyes narrowing mischievously. "I'll have you wear a dragon costume with a sign that says: 'I accidentally set fire to the fair' and walk around." That sounded like a good enough punishment to her, if she found the right outfit she could even embarrass Vince-- which, obviously, was the best kind of punishment. Of course, Vince would never actually allow his pokemon to wreck havoc, which meant that this 'punishment' could never happen, but... a girl could dream. Their playful conversation came to a brief stop, unfortunately, when Vince took it upon himself to educate Olivia of the true nature of the relationship between dragons and humans in the medieval era. He eventually stopped and apologized, to which she waved away and explained that, even if it had been a bit of a mood dampener, she enjoyed learning new information, something Vince seemed appreciative of.
Olivia made sure to do a quick look of the staging area before she let Poppy and Cayenne go to run around once more. Much to her disappointment, however, everywhere she looked the stages were either empty or filled with acts that were just wrapping up. "I guess we did," she agreed, the disappointment clear in her voice. At the very least they could wait around for the next play and see it from the beginning, rather than just see the very end of one. Who knew how long that would take, maybe up to an hour at the most, and they couldn't just stand around just waiting until then.
Besides the stages there were a few other attractions available, though they were more pokemon-orientated than anything. Olivia looked at both the ponyta ride and the petting zoo, her expression softening at the sight of young children petting the few pokemon available. "Probably, pokemon are more interesting than people prancing about on a stage." She grew quiet a moment, thoughtful, before she broken out into a grin and began to saunter over to the petting zoo. "Let's pet a few Skiddo," she suggested. Making sure that there was no pokemon at the gate she opened it just enough for her and Vince to enter, her eyes bouncing around from the few children and pokemon milling around. They were all so cute~

Cayenne, who was now in a less than stellar mood thanks to Poppy, shuffled quietly over to a new game. The two had come to an unspoken agreement that allowed her to try a few games--or, rather, she moved on to a new game and Poppy didn't speak up about it--, it put less strain on Poppy and allowed them to gather tokens faster. So far she'd done well, able to throw her Tympolse plushie a total of ten feet and earn herself a grand total of ten feet. Of course she wasn't going to tell Poppy this, and with her tokens tucked away, for now, she moved off back to the shattering game. It was fun! And, once again, she managed to get two out of the three plates. She was getting quite a few tokens at this rate! Hopefully her betting game would go just as well...

The Rapidash race was far more exciting than Cayenne could've expected, the Cyndaquil left jumping and squeaking as the last horse ran across the finish line, though that could've been because her bet had gotten second place. They'd been soooo close too! Maybe next time, if she chose the same Rapidash, he'd actually get first place! Now that would be an thrilling race! Now back in her jovial mode Cayenne made her way back to Poppy, who had just finished with her berry bobbing attempt, and quietly handed her her collection of tokens. Poppy simply sniffed and looked at the two berries she had managed to grab before handing one to Cayenne, freeing up her hand to take her two tokens. Cayenne looked at the berry then sniffed it, glancing up at Poppy for confirmation on what to do with it. When she didn't respond, however, she took a cautionary nibble of the fruit. When Poppy didn't object to that she took it as a sign that the other actually wanted her to eat it and dug in; Poppy was... so strange. Was she not mad at her anymore? Or did she simply not find use in these berries either?

Much harsher? Vince quirked an eyebrow, wondering what she would do, but then again he wasn't about to try and find out. The dragon tamer gave a light shrug. "As you should be, if I were so needlessly cruel." He suggested, though when she suggested instead that she'd make him wear a dragon costume with a sign around his neck, Vince gave a barking laugh. "That.... Would be horrendous." He wheezed, a wide grin on his face. Arceus, he hadn't laughed like that in a while, probably last time would have been at one of Jian's jokes. "It's a good thing I would never do, or allow such a thing." By then his laugher had died down to a chuckle again, but wow, she had really caught him off guard with that sort of punishment. He was thinking harsher as in walloping him, not embarrassing him to death. Still, even though the threat was directed at him, Vince wasn't all that concerned, since as he'd said, he would never even think to do such a thing.
One look at the staging area though, and it seemed they'd come at a bad time. Olivia agreed, clearly more than a little disappointed. There were a few other attractions in the area, though they seemed more geared towards children, and keeping them busy so that parents could watch the plays without having to keep their children sitting still and under control. Vince pointed them out to Olivia, who suggested that pokemon were probably just more interesting that a performance. Vince nodded lightly, but when Olivia suddenly suggested that they go pet a few skiddo, she took his hand and started pulling him along, and Vince's calm expression went wide eyed in surprise. "W-wait, wh--?!" Skiddo? Sure they were cute and all, but why did he have to be dragged into this with her, literally?
Before he knew it, Vince was standing there in the middle of the skiddo and gogoat pen like an idiot, his confidence gone in an instant. He'd spent his whole life focusing on learning about and training dragons, he had no idea how to interact with any other pokemon outside of battle! "I don't think this is a good idea..." He muttered under his breath, but his complaint fell on deaf ears, or was at least heard but still ignored. Olivia was just too enamored by the goats and the children petting them to notice. Vince gently pulled his hand from hers, allowing Olive to go and do as she pleased. Maybe he could just take an empty corner and--
A skiddo of course chose this opportunity to trot over to Vince, tail wagging. Vince blinked, turning his attention down to the goat. "Oh.... Um... Hello." He murmured awkwardly, looking around to see if maybe one of the other children wanted to take this goat's attention, but the few children in the pen seemed preoccupied with other things, so he looked to Olivia, tense, clearly uncomfortable, and desperate all at once, unsure what to do. Then he felt a butting from behind and turned. It seemed another skiddo had decided to headbutt him lightly. "W...What? What do you want....?" He asked gruffly, a little annoyed, but mostly just feeing out of place.
