Growth Response
Lexi suddenly jumped, awoken by a loud thump, elsewhere in the house. She suddenly realized that she couldn’t move well, it was like she was wrapped in something. “Why is everything so tight?” Lexi mumbled aloud, through a yawn. “This isn’t comfortable at all.” Reaching for the lamp, she accidently knocked it over, her arms longer then she recalled. “Huh?” Holding her hand in front of her face, she added, “When did my hand get so big?” Sitting up, she pulled the covers off her body. She looked down at herself in shock, “What happened? Did I change again?” While it was definitely unexpected, she knew there were other pokemon out there, that had transformed before her, that had eventually entered an ‘older’ form. It seemed clear to her that that was what had happened. Still, she hadn’t expected to wake up and suddenly look so different.
Slowly, in her too tight pajamas, she made her way to the closet. “I’m going to have to get all new clothes now…” Opening the door, she reached in for a robe. It had been a bit large on her, oversized really, but it should fit now. It could at least serve as a temporary fix. After pulling the robe out, she closed the door behind her. Awkwardly, she then went into the bathroom. Unexpectedly, the light was already on. As the lights adjusted, she saw her new form. It was definitely kirlia like, but there was some odd discrepancies as well. “Why is my hair purple? And what are these gems on my neck?” She was confused, no kirlia she had seen had ever had features like that. It was like she was a mishmash, like Sasha seemed to be, but she had no idea what she was mashing with. Not wanting to worry about it now, she changed out of her undersized clothing and into the robe. While it was late and it seemed a little rude to disturb someone that was sleeping, she was pretty sure that Sasha would forgive her. Peaking her head into the room, she stated, “Sasha?” There was no response though, as no one was in the room.
Maybe she went to grab a snack. She decided to sit on the bed and wait. Before long, though, she had drifted off to sleep.
******
Sasha suddenly woke up, as she first shot into the wall. “What?” she mumbled, looking around. “Wow, my arm is so big!” she added, as her gaze came to her arm, still sticking out of the wall. After sliding it out, she realized that her sleeves were gone. Shocked, she looked under the covers to realize she was no clothed. Her former pajamas lay ripped apart, all around her. “Wow, I am so big that I broke my pajamas! I must of hit a growth spurt!” Unlike her friend, she was not as aware of the changes pokekids seemed to go through. “Hmm, I should put something on, though. I don’t think anything will fit….. hmm.”
Not having any other ideas, she pulled a sheet off the bed and made her way to the restroom. Once inside, she turned on the light. “Wow, I look really different… I look older!” If she had experienced any evolutionary changes, she was completely unaware. “Hmm, lets see…” she mumbled, as she turned the bed sheet into a makeshift toga. “Yeah, I think this will work.” Proud of her makeshift attire, she left the bathroom and closed the door, forgetting to turn off the light. Walking over to her bed, she lay back down.
“Wait!” she exclaimed, “ I need to tell Lexi.” She popped out of bed and entered their conjoined closet. She popped open the door and went into the other bedroom, but Lexi was nowhere to be seen.
“Maybe she is in the restroom, I should just wait.” With that, she sat on the bed and waited. She waited and waited and waited, for about an hour and a half. She began to get very confused. She had no idea why her friend had not come back yet. Finally, she gave up. Deciding she should get back to bed, she made her way through the closet, back to her room. She didn't notice that her bed was occupied until she tried to get in, which also woke up Lexi.
Both girls looked at the unfamiliar face of the other and exclaimed, “Who are you?”
“Why are you in my bed?” Sasha exclaimed at the interloper.
“Your bed? Sasha? Did you change too?”
“Wait, you know who I am? Wait, change too? And your voice… Lexi? I know!” with that proclamation, Sasha used lick. “It is you!”
“Yeah… you’re definitely Sasha… Why are you wearing a sheet?“

Move Solo - Shadow Ball
“Shadow ball!” Lexi exclaimed as she unleashed the energy she had been storing up. A small purplish black ball erupted from her palms and quickly fell to the ground, fizzling into nothing.
“You can do it!” Sasha cheered, “Unleash your inner ghost!”
Lexi smiled at Sasha, but in her mind, she couldn’t help but think she had no idea what that even meant. Thanks to whatever had caused her to transform in such an unusual way, she was part ghost, mismagius to be exact. When she had first realized that fact, it had made her uneasy; she had always been afraid of ghosts. In the time since then, she had grown used to the idea, even grown to accept it, but she still had no idea how to, as Sasha put it, embrace her inner ghost. If it was part of her, how could she separate it from the rest of her?
It had taken her quite a while to even get this far, she even tried to have ‘spooky’ thoughts and said ‘Boo” to Sasha. It didn’t really seem to help. Her friend was part ghost type, so she had assumed she would be able to help, as she had always seemed to be part ghost… at least as far back as her friend could remember. No matter how much advice she gave, though, it just didn’t help.
“Like this!” Sasha exclaimed, trying to help. For a moment, Sasha had a very serious face, and her hands seemed to glow a dark purple, much like Lexi’s attempt at a shadow ball had. “Shadow Punch!” Sasha exclaimed as she leapt forward and pummeled a tree. The trunk of the tree shattered, sending splinters flying outward, though none went close to Lexi, and then the top of the tree collapsed to the ground. “See, like that!”
“Sasha,” Lexi asked, “What were you thinking when you did that?”
“Um,” Sasha replied, “I was thinking ‘Shadow Punch!’”
“You said to unleash your inner ghost though?”
“Yep”
“But you thought about the move, not about the part of you that is a ghost.”
“I guess? That sounds right.”
Lexi was beginning to think, despite her friend’s best intentions, that her advice was completely wrong. She couldn’t just embrace some aspect of herself that was a ghost; there were no barriers. She wasn’t part kirlia and part mismagius. She was both things, in her entirety. Despite what her friend said, she wasn’t separating herself into parts; she was just being herself, in her entirety.
This time, she filled herself with power, not just parts, parts she assumed to be a ghost, like the gems on her neck; she filled herself in her entirety. Her eyes shut, she pushed the gathered energy to her palm, and prepared to release it. “Shadow ball!” she exclaimed. The dark ball emerged from her hands and shot outward, like a bullet. It slammed directly into a rock that had been sticking out of the ground. In its place, lay a pile of rubble.
“Wow!” Lexi exclaimed, wide eyed.

Move Solo - Dazzling Gleam
Fairy type? What is it even… Lexi wondered. When she was a young pokemon, she hadn’t even heard of Fairy type pokemon and Fairy type moves. Soon after she reached her teenaged form, the one she was in now, she discovered that not only did it exist, but that it was part of her. She had made comments about it in the past, but, until now, she never even tried to learn a fairy move. Could she? Supposedly it was something that should naturally happen, but she never felt that power within her.
Sat upon the roof, she looked upwards at the night sky. Leaning back, she silently stared at the moon. She knew that some fairy type moves called upon the light of the moon. The one she was trying to learn didn’t, but it did involve light. It was a dazzling light, a light that would shoot forth from her.
With a sigh, Lexi lay back onto the roof. She held one arm up, between her and the moon, looking at it bathed in moonlight. She closed her eyes and tried to picture the same light on her arm. In her mind, she imagined her arm coated in light, gleaming. As the light, in her mind’s eye became a dazzling glow, she tried to make it spread. Slowly, the light seeped from her arm, to her chest. It then spread to her other arm. Slowly, the light then made its way down both of her legs. For a moment, it seemed to stop. Concentrating harder, the light slowly spread, up her neck, onto her face, and to the back of her head. It even began flowing out of her hair.
Opening her eyes, she hoped to see the same image as in her mind. While there was light present, unfortunately it was not nearly at intense, and only covered a small portion of her body. Her form was just not naturally gleamy.
She gathered what little light appeared into the palm of her hand. She briefly considered trying to shoot it outwards, from her hand, like with shadow ball, but that wasn’t the effect she was going for. It wouldn’t be nearly as intense as she had hoped. Before she could waste the effort on a imperfect gleam, she suddenly had an idea. In general, she was not naturally gleamy, but there was a part of her that was. It was foolish of her to try and focus the light on her arm first. Carefully she willed the light to travel up her arm and across her chest to the three gems that marked her mismagius ancestry. As the light spread into the gems, the glow increased in intensity. It gave off enough light to completely envelope her. She held in the energy for a moment and shone like a miniature sun. The trees surrounding her house were lit up as if in daylight. Releasing the energy, it shot outward, like a shockwave. “Dazzling Gleam!” she exclaimed.
Afterword’s, she sat down, exhausted. She couldn’t help but find it amusing that it was her ghost heritage that had aided her in using the fairy move.
