.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :.
Roleplay

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi loped along the edges of the graveyard, her white and brown ears pricked forward softly as she gazed towards the blue sky. It was always so much nicer on the border, where there weren't as many shadows and the grass grew in shades of faded gold. She had actually found herself pondering over the idea of leaving...going to explore a little. But for the moment her heart was tied to her family. She loved all of her family, as was her nature, even if she didn't agree or understand some of what they did.

But today she was simply smiling and glancing about with sparkling emerald eyes. She felt so comfortable out there-with the insects buzzing about and the sight of birds in the distance. It wasn't as bad as the gray, almost lifeless graveyard.

Safaia
And as the little painted-adol was admiring the life that frew away from the Graveyard, a god that didn't always accept the happy bustle of life was emerging from the graveyard. His normally blood-red coat was lessened down to a dull rust, the dust from the graveyard covering his coat. He walked with one of little pride, his tail drooped, wingtips dragging on the ground. He was somewhat looking up, but only to make sure that he wouldn't collide into a rock. Gods were supposed to be glorious but...what had happened to him?

Ary Keeyara

Nkechi turned her head, hearing something moving in the distance. She glanced over her shoulder, blinking in innocent curiousity. In the distance leading back to the heart of the graveyard she could see a from moving about in a low, droopy manner. She frowned softly, looking a little concerned. She couldn't tell who it was from here...but were they not feeling good? She circled about and trotted back in his direction. Little did she know she was heading towards a god, no matter how unhappy he might be acting.

Safaia
The god continued to walk out, the sun's bright rays, normally hidden from the Graveyard, displaying his colourings a little better for the eye to see, but none-the-less still muted. He continued on his path, which wasn't much of a path. A step here, a trip there...cearly he wasn't to keen on how he was presenting himself, or what he even might run into. He did draw his black wing sup, though, for the dragging was starting to hurt them. When doing so, he stopped for a moment, and looked up...to see something...no, someone, coming towards him. Well, it's colours were light, which eliminated a few that he knew around here.... he gave a sigh and plopped down on his haunches, not much feeling like meeting the other if he had too. What a pathetic state.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi, however, seemed rather keen on meeting him anyway. Her maw parted slightly when she drew close, amazed at his horn and wing! Oh! He was a strange lion! A small fear grew in her chest and she slowed slightly. Her ears flickered back a little and she moved into a walk. She seemed to be more in control of her fears then she had been as a cub. But that didn't mean she wasn't a little nervous going to see him...however, her concern ruled out. Why was he so sad? "H-hello...?"

Safaia

Dath's ear flicked as he heard the voice. Female. Hmm, not what he really wanted to deal with but...heck, he wasn't in the mood to deal with anyone right now. His snake-slitted eyes met her's, the golden colour a little dull in itself. He gave off a little grunt before he spoke, not in disgust, just in effort. "Yeah yeah, I'm here." He flicked his tail, kicking up a little cloud of Dust. "What'cha want?"

Ary Keeyara
"Um...are you ok...?" Nkechi asked sheepishly. She took the hint he didn't want company but...it kinda made her feel bad, seeing him so depressed. She didn't even know who he was but...that was just how Nkechi opperated. Though she was still a little uneasy about his horns and wings...she had never seen anyone with them before!

Safaia

Dath blinked, and peered at the girl again. She was asking...if he was okay? Did she even know what he was? ...of course, he was just too damn tired to be all flashy about it. He sighed, swished his tail, and gave her a soft reply. "Not really...things that I don't understand...maybe I've been around mortals for too long...I...don't even know."
Why did he feel like he could actually talk about it? Well, sorta, anyway. Maybe because she was young, young enough that she really couldn't do anything about it to him, and it might be nice to talk about it....but...damn, he had been around mortals for too long. Going soft.

Ary Keeyara
Mortals? Mm...Nkechi wasn't too sure what he was talking about, but he said he wasn't alright. That wasn't good. She couldn't help but feel a little nosy asking him questions...but she wanted to know if she could help...maybe. She settled down carefully on her haunches, looking at him with open, concerned eyes, "Erm...what things...? Maybe I could...help...?" The way she said it wasn't something that could normally be taken as a blow to one's pride...since it didn't seem she had much confidence in her assistance anyway.

Safaia
The god rolled onto his side, grunting as he landed with a thud. He glanced back up at the little adol, but quickly looked away.
"Perhaps. I'm...new to these things...emotions. How would you describe them? I'm just used to...feeling...nothing. I don't get it. What makes them what they are?" He peered at the horizon, not really looking at anything, but everything.

Ary Keeyara
"Hmm..." Nkechi looked thoughtful, glancing out towards the border, "I think...if you don't feel anything you aren't truly living...because nothingness is empty, isn't it? So...isn't it better if you're feeling now...when you weren't before?" Honestly, Nkechi wasn't the brightest of lions. While she wasn't stupid, she was just a bundle of heart realistically speaking. So...trying to explain emotions was hard. She didn't even understand how he could have not had them before. But...she knew she wouldn't like having no emotions. It'd be like being a rock...or being dead.

Safaia
Dath gave out a snarl...not to Nkechi, but to the word 'empty'. He straightened himself up, and glanced back over to her, though not looking at her eyes. "I never had emotions, just...a will to mess up the lives of mortals, thinking that since I'm the god of chaos, that's what I should do....but I've been here for so long, I think this emotion bug is creeping in on me. And I don't know what it is." He sighed, wondering just why he'd gone so soft...on her. He gave another snarl. "Not like I'm always this way, mind you. I can still be mean..." His growl died off as his mind wandered again. He stared off for a while, which might of made the little lioness antsy...so he spoke again. "I just don't get why mortals spend so much time on the thing called love. It seemingly only makes you feel all...jumbled up." He gave a disgusted look on his face, just thinking about lovey-dovey lions he'd seen. Ick. SOme of his cubness was still inside him, obviously.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi was a little startled by his snarling at her. Her ears pressed even farther back and she ducked her head slightly. But she set her jaw with a shutter and stood her ground. She looked a little sheepish, for she hadn't meant to upset him. "I'm sorry...guess I'm not good at explaining things like this...um..." She glanced away for a moment, her ear twitching. She then looked back at him, eyes seeming to shine a little, "Well, love is something we all need, I guess. Yes it can be confusing but...when it goes right, nothing feels more spectacular then it does. And it's worth all the fuss it makes." And Chi didn't respond to his god comment because...well, she didn't know what gods were. She hadn't heard anything about them from her family and well...she hadn't met many others either.

Safaia
His ear flicked to this. Good? Good?! Augh, what this the little runt know, anyway. He flicked his tail in annoyance, and huffed. "Worth it? Not to me...all it's seemed to do is hurt..." He felt ashamed for saying so, but it was true. It did hurt! And he finally figured it out! That's why he was so distraut, not feeling like himself. Her. She had hurt his heart, seemingly disappeared, and for all he knew, gone. Tch, cruel. No one should to against the god of chaos! That angered him, but he didn't want to startle away the little lioness, not yet.
Giving out another huff, he did his best to compliment her. "Well, they're enough for me to figure out what I need."

Ary Keeyara
"Well...I guess it can hurt..." Her ears dropped slightly, but while she looked confused, she didn't look convinced, "But...if you didn't know the hurt you couldn't know that good feeling...the one that makes you feel warm inside...or like you can do anything because they're there...if you didn't know the bad, how could you tell there was anything else? It'd be the same as nothing...erm...right?" Yeah, Nkechi might just be talking herself in circles and getting herself confused. But she was trying. Deciding this wasn't working she tried to cheer up, "But...if you hurt now, things can only get better! So...um...lets cheer up! Is there anything you like to do...?"

Safaia
"Maybe nothing would be better...."
Yeah, goo emo Dath. That'll work out. Dath mentally snapped at his mind, telling it to shut up. Looking back at the other, he rolled his eyes. "I like to ruin the lives of mortals, since that's what I do. Haha, if you can find me something to ruin, just maybe I'll cheer up?" Dath grinned, thinking that she wouldn't go for it, at all. "I never caught your name either, little lioness. Even though I don't always care, might be interesting if I run into you again, someday."

Ary Keeyara

"I'm Nkechi!" She replied with a bright smile, seeming no longer afraid of the strange looking male. Though she did glance at his wings from time to time in awe. After all, they were rather pretty...like the birds that flew around near the borders. And, instead of taking him up on his request to find something to ruin she suggested, "Why don't we find shapes in the clouds? Me and my brother used to do it! It's fun! It's better then being hurt, see?" She looked up and motioned with her paw and a smile, "Look! That one looks like a mouse. "

Safaia

Dath blinked at her as she pointed up at the clouds. What was so exciting about them? They were just...globs of water that floated in the sky, nothing that special about them. Sighing, he rolled onto his back, folding his wings up awkwardly as not to squish them. He glanced up at the one she pointed to. "A mouse? Looks more like a hare to me, Nkechi." Well, maybe this could be fun. Might disctract him, at least.

Ary Keeyara
"Really?" She flopped onto her back to get a better look, "Oh! You're right. Oopps." She giggled. Well, at least he was trying to do it. She then tilted her head to the side, her ears perking forward in interest. Her green eyes shifted until she caught sight of another cloud with a shape, "Mm...that one looks like...a dragonfly!" Her tail swished slightly in contentment. Aparently she was enjoying herself.

Safaia
Dath's ears flattened a bit. What...was so funny? She was definately an odd one. But it might let the time pass by faster...never knew what you could find in the sky. He gave a nod, and reached out is black flame-tipped paw. "Yeah, I see it. That other one over there...almost looks like an Elephant. Well, maybe more like a baby one."

Ary Keeyara
"Ooooo, and that cloud next to it...it looks like a tree! Maybe the baby elephant is eating it?" Nkechi smiled. She loved to watch the clouds and just...imagine shapes and events within them. Maybe it didn't make sense to him, but it was so simple yet...it let her be herself and just relax and have a good time. She did hope he was having fun too, though. If not...well, she might have to think of something else for them to do.

Safaia
Dath glanced over at her, wearing a smile. It soon fell though, for he wasn't used to carrying one...not one that didn't have a sinister look behind it. This was fun...if it made him tired. He tried to look for something else that he could point out...but he couldn't really tell what anything looked like. "I...can't seem to find anything else. Maybe I'm just not good at this game, eh Nkechi?"

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi glanced over at him, but she seemed just as pleased at before. Obviously she didn't mind that he wasn't too good, "That's ok. I wasn't good at first either. It's takes pratice? Mm...I could find one and give you clues...like a guessing game?" She was really happy he seemed interested...unless she was guessing completely wrong and he was just pretending. But Chi didn't think along those lines...she liked to think the best of people, once she knew they weren't scary.

Safaia
Dath furrowed his brows, trying to look at the cloud differently then what they literally where. He was feeling, and acting, more like a playful cub then the newly grown adult that he was, and he didn't even notice it. Perhaps being with mortals wasn't always bad...but not like he'd admit it.
He swished his tail on the ground, and gave her a nod. "You got it, I'll get good at this in no time." The more determined spirit that he held was slowly starting to come back, a sign that yes, he was feeling better.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi's eyes crickled slightly in delight as she looked back up at the sky, "Ok! Mm..." She looked around at the clouds for a moment, trying to think of one she could give clues too. She then grinned and looked back at him, "Well...that one there...it's something with feathers...and likes bugs..." She shifted and lifted her paw to the sky, pointing to an oddly shaped cloud that looked like a bird.

Safaia
Dath peered at it, noticing the feathers. "Well, gods don't like bugs...I find them gross....and so can't be that...I guess....a bird?" His tail flicked as he finished his guess, wondering if he was right. Yes, stupid creature that never paid attention to others. Bird was a general word, so it was probably right. Hopefully she wasn't going to make it too hard!

Ary Keeyara
"Yeah! You got it!" She beamed at him, "See! I knew you could do it!" Nkechi wasn't one to make things hard. Why overcomplicate things? She liked simple pleasures in life...so making a huge puzzle wasn't her style anyway. She then looked back at the sky, eagerly searching for another one, "Lets see...Oh! It likes sunlight...and bees like it...and it's usually colorful!" She pointed once again to a cloud, this one looking like a flower.

Safaia

Dath turned his head this way and that, not knowing what it was. He never knew, nor cared what a flower was, so he just...couldn't get it. "Umm...a tree?" Uncertainty in his voice, he glanced over at the young lioness, wondering if he was at all close.

Ary Keeyara
"Well...it was a flower...but trees have flowers so I guess it's right too!" Nkechi said with the same enthusiasm as before. Obviously she didn't mind if he got it wrong...it was still fun anyway. Besides...what a cloud looked like to one person didn't always looked the same to someone else.

.: The Tapestry - Adanna :.
Completed Roleplay

The warm sun glittered brightly in the sun as it did on most days in the pridelands, spreading favor over the lands of green. Herds of game and other animals wandered about as usual, for these lands were almost unchanging. Every day held some promise for everyone in some way.

Adanna loped along through the tall, swimming grasses at an slightly slower and off balance pace. Her auburn eyes were alight with firey curiousity as she gazed about them, catching sights of elephants and zebra roaming around the edge of the water. The pridelands, despite how simple it was, seemed almost endless in her mind,f or very rarely did anything seem to grow in familiarity. She stopped near a small dip on the landscape, partly to catch a bit of her breath and also to glance back at Nukta, just like the days of old when she was a young cub peeking over her shoulder

The grasses parted like water for the two adults, Adanna leading ahead and Nukta often trailing slightly behind. Just like in days before his eyes were usually found on her figure, casting a curious and affecitonate glow as she moved. He was sure she'd probably tease or laugh if she knew he had such thoughts but, he was.... proud. His thoughts couldn't help but continually go back to the idea that they were starting a family all of their own. These lands had given them the peace and security that life as rogues simply could not offer, but... he wondered if they'd ever miss their days wandering. He didn't think much further ahead than that.

As she paused at a slight incline of land Nukta came to her side and met her gaze curiously.

"Want to stop for a bit?"

"Only if you're tired," Ada huffed with her usual spirit. She was far from willing to let her new found weight stop her from moving about as she pleased. There was very little that Ada would allow to happen at all unless she was fully willing in the first place. It was just her way.

She snuck a grin at him, taking her own words in good humor. Despite her determination she knew she was the one who was more likely to be huffing and puffing. But she was determined to keep that very minimal.

"Me? Tired? Only when I feel like being lazy." He shot back with flair as he took one circle around the female. Nukta's striped tail flickered and brushed against her legs briefly with each step.

"Well, care to tell me if that's one of these moments?" Ada questioned with a sly gaze and a hint of curiousity. The suttle touch of his tail, teasing, sent a ripple of warmth through her body, a feeling she wasn't sure she'd ever get used to, but that wasn't nesessarily a bad thing.

The answer was yes. Anytime it meant lying around in the sun with Adanna the answer would always be yes.

"Hmm, you tell me." He rumbled, grazing her shoulder with his before finally easing to sit on his haunches, eyes narrowing with an infamously familiar expression. Be it an attack of laziness or grogginess, Nukta looked like he could indeed settle down for a voluntary rest with her.

"I thought I said I wouldn't allow you to be lazy," Ada said quite simply, with an false innocent and thoughtful look as she gazed out at the watering hole. She wasn't going to lay down that easily...even if she did want to. It was her normal stubborn and teasing nature.

With that tone and that comment Nukta understood all too well. He didn't mind it, so long as they kept moving he had no reason to get lazy.

"Yeah yeah," He sighed with an amused tone. "I get the picture."

He smirked a bit and followed her gaze towards the old worn and hoof-beaten path leading to the watering hole.

With a small flex of her paws she stretched out the muscles in her back legs and slowly began to walk with purpose toward the trail. "Mm....we haven't had a swim in a while, eh?" she commented with a grin. She never got tired of swimming. It was something she always treasured, for her waryness of water supplies was something she couldn't shake from her childhood. Having so much here was a blessing indeed.

He fell just about right in line alongside her again, always making sure she was alright in his own way. The gears began to turn in Nukta's mind at about that point of her statement.

"Can't remember the last time I went with you." He yawned, mocking weariness while inwardly plotting. Just wait till they were a bit closer...

The thing about when Nukta decided to plot was that Ada was usually rather clueless. Today was no exception, for she had no idea what he might be thinking, "Mm hm...I know I went swimming with Bakhti a while back...but it's been so long..." She smiled and shook her head lightly.

"Then we'll just have to get wet enough to make up for the time gone without, won't we?" He smirked deviously.

"How can you get more wet then normal?" Ada inquired with a puzzled look. Honestly, if you went swimming around in the water...how much more wet could you get?

"CANONBALL!!!"

SPLASH!!

Ada was drenched. She looked rather flabbergasted. She wrinkled up her nose and glared slightly at the spot where he disappeared. "Oh, is that how it is? Well two can play at that game!" When he resurfaced she raced forward and spashing into the water beside him. Hers was rather bigger then his, due to the added weight. xD

O__O SPLASH.

Indeed.

Nukta sputtered a bit, mane dripping untameably into his eyes while the male tried to get his vision back. He had to laugh though, still blind by all the dark and white streaked hair in his eyes.

Ada swam back to the surface and rolled over onto her back, floating a little as she squirted out water from her mouth in a small fountain like motion. She then laughed a little herself, grinning widely.

Nukta pulled himself towards the shore so he could stand against the waterhole's bottom, flicking his tail to get Adanna with a few drops of water, grinning.

She shook her head as the water hit her face and sneezed a little. Her ears flickered forward again and she seemed to settle into her floating, peeking at him from beind partly-closed eyelids.

"You look comfortable." He observed, yawning large enough to let out a small roaring grumble, stretching out. A light breeze rippled through, causing the water saturating his fur to send a ripple of shivers up his spine.

"Yuuuuuup," Ada agreed with smug smile, her ears flickering back in comfort. She felt the breeze slightly too, on her belly and the tops of her paws and snorted, rolling over back all the way into the water, "Mrrrrrr!"

As he passed her on his way to the shore Nukta placed a kiss over Adanna's cheek. Nukta watched her as he moved to settle on the shore, paws resting in the water while the rest of him rested away from the chill

Ada stuck her tongue out at him and ducked under the water to hide from the chill of the wind. She still couldn't get used to such cold breezes here in the pridelands. It seemed to be the one thing she disliked. Mm....but the water was warm. x3

Nukta had a bit of a laugh, watching her antics. "How long can you hold your breath?" He called out in question, though she probably wouldn't hear him.

Obviously it wasn't very long, for after a few seconds she rose to the surface to catch her breath. The wind nipped at her head as though laughing at her foolish attempts as well. She scowled slightly, pulling herself down just so that everything from the nose up was above the water.

Nukta laughed further at this, getting up and moving to shake out his fur. Once he'd done so he looked to Adanna again and settled back on the ground.

"You do realize you've got me to keep you warm right?"

"...." She scowled and the murmured something in the water, but it only came out as bubbles. Her ears flopped to the side in a tinge of annoyance, which was directed toward her lack of the obsevation...that or the wind itself.

"Can't understand you while you're talking in there, Ada." He grinned teasingly, flickering his ears.

Ada spat out water in his direction, though she was too far away for it to be any real thread. "But I'd have to get out to get you to keep me warm. I'd free before you got the chance," She complained sharply, bringing her maw back down under the water once she had finished speaking.

"You'd be surprised." He smirked.

Adanna looked at him disbilivingly, letting a breath escape from her nose to disterb the waters in front of her. But, she couldn't stay like this forever, now could she? She'd get all...soggy. Reluctantly she went to the shore, staying in as much of the water as possible so when she reached the shallows she was crawling. Once out she flopped lightly on the grass and shivered.

Nukta rumbled and rose to his paws again, stepping in closer to her, buffeting his head against hers, then down her neck. It would've helped if she'd shaken herself dry but this would work too. He'd just lick her dry.

As he went he also carried on with keeping his body close to hers. When he'd gotten most of the water off he curled his entire large body around hers, completely encircling her backside and draping a paw over her shoulders, continuing to groom the back of her ears and neck with nibbles and licks every now and again.

.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :.
Roleplay

Arawn Lupe Kaiju
Kivale shook the locks of hair from his eyes as he stared through the dust filled air of the graveyard. Dispite being considered an adult hyena, he still acted rather like a pup. Narrowing his red eyes, Kivale stepped further into the foreign lands. He had never seen a place filled with bone's before and was rather cautious.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi was laying in the shadow of a huge elephant skull. She was, surprisingly, very close to the borders of the land. Normally she was either on it or in the heart of the graveyard with her family. However, today she had somehow managed to take a nap out here, despite her fears. No matter how old she grew, she still remained nervous among the death and darkness of the boneyard. She couldn't help it. The place felt like death much of the time, and for such a life-valuing female it was unsettling.

But apparently as she grew older she too had learned to cope with her fears. So there she lay, half asleep in the shadows. Her paint-colored coat looked dimmed in the darkness, but she definately didn't blend with the black of the dust nor the white of the bones. Since she wasn't paying attention, she didn't notice Kivale drawing near.

Arawn Lupe Kaiju
As he peered about Kivale's gaze fell upon what looked to be a femaleion. Slowing his approached, he watched her with cautious eyes. The experiences he had had with other creatures had never been good. Stopping roughly five yards from the creature, he remained silent.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi was sleeping peacefully, one paw drapped over her maw slightly. Her jaws were parted ever so slightly to allow small, soft breaths in and out as she slumbered. Rusty red and white ears lay back slightly in relaxation, not catching a sound of the hyena's coming. So it wasn't surprising when she didn't awake when he chose to be so stealthy. In fact, even if he had made a few sounds she probably would have slept still. Noise would wake her, but not something so minimal that it could be a mouse or some other creature moving about.

Arawn Lupe Kaiju
Sniffing at the ground before him, Kivale continued towards the prone form of the lioness. Cocking his head to one side, he stepped lightly between the various bones. His instict and mind telling him that he should kill her before she got him.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi shifted a little, her ears quivering in her sleep. She murmured something softly under her breath, curling her tan-tipped tail around her back paws. Oddly, she looked rather helpless for a lion. And that wouldn't change if she awoke, but then...how did the Hyena know that? Well he couldn't, really.

Syrius Lionwing

Induna lived above ground, as all hares did, she slept in little dips surrounded by long grass where it was comfortable. her long black ears flickered and her tail twitched as she leapt suddenly from her resting state, jumping as high as the grasses surrounding ehr and speeding off in a manic fashion.

Just as suddenly, the hare stopped, her huge doe brown eyes searching for everything or nothing, her ears flickered and then, she was gone, or at least, she had moved, A small opening of fresh nibbled green grass required her full attention after all though her ears constantly roved in a comical fashion and her eyes were wide as two earthen ware dishplates.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi loped out into the open green grasses of the graveyard border. She left the dark, dusty home of her family behind for the morning to bask out in the welcoming sun. Ah...it was almost always nicer out here! It was strange that such a lioness as she even lived there, concidering how afraid she often was. But love was a binding she couldn't escape and something she really didn't want to either.

Taking in a deep breath of the air she glanced about with eager, sparkling green eyes. Then she caught sight of something...small? It looked fuzzy from here, but all she could see was the top of its ears. Not thinking in the huntress state of mind she called out, "Hello...?"

Syrius Lionwing
Induna leapt up straight in the air before landing with her back legs splayed and her front paws dangling as she stared at the lioness, she was unmoving but her nose and ears twitched "ey..stay wheer you are blinkin' predator! I'm not lunch alright!" She spoke in a rather gruff manner though her voice was obviously female in nature she was rather briisque to say the least.

"An' if you think for a minute that I'm gunna stand 'ere and let you eat me, you've got another thing comin!" Looking around her, she searched for a suitable escape route should the lioness approach further, she could run in to the grass and leap through it's stems coonfuse the thing or dash out in to the open savannah. The grasses were her best bet. "You jus' stay where you are alright?" she states again her ears waving around in an extremely comical fashion her big brown eyes roving a little before fixinng squarely on the female lion.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi just stared at the rabbit as if she had grown another head. Eat her? How horrible! Why would she do that? She looked utterly dismayed and hurt. She had never eaten a rabbit before...and by the look of her she didn't want to. After all, Induna was so pretty...it'd be terrible to make her a meal, "Eh! But I don't want to eat you..." Her different colored ears flickered back and she looked at the ground sheepishly. Well...it didn't look like she'd be making friends here.

Syrius Lionwing
Induna paused a moment, her ears sat perfectly still perking forwards "alright don't look like somones just slapped ya in the face missie! Just don't think about making me in to ya brekkist and we'll get on just fine!" Her black tufted tail twitched again before her ears wiggled about. She sat suddenly, in a haunched possition her ears still and flat against ehr back. her eyes were wide and she licked her lips.

Just as quickly she was to her feet and bounding over to the young female hopping on her back feet and 'boxing the air' the wind rolling over the savannah rushed through ehr fur and ears and she paused right infront of Nkechi with a raised brow "If you aint gunna eat me, watcha wantin'? Aint ya never seen a hare before?" she blinked curiously her ears wiggling about in such a strange manner it really made them look like they wern't quite attached to her head, perhaps the wind was even moving them, though they stood straight for a moment, the hollow of her ears perfectly visable as she waited for a reply.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi fell back on her haunces in pleasent surprise as the hare darted over to her. She blinked and then smiled awkwardly. Uh...she had to have a reason? "Uh...well...I wanted to say hello..." she murmured, now feeling rather stupid. She hadn't really been expecting all this fuss...she just liked meeting and talking with people. Though sometimes she wondered if they felt the same about her. But such thoughts were quickly pushed from her mind, since she was the gentle, cheery sort, "Um...I'm Nkechi! Who are you?"

Syrius Lionwing
"Me? oh well you see thats sorta a complex question, me ol' mam called me Induna ye see, but clearly I'ma girl." The little hare grinned cheerily sitting down a bit her furry beguind curving, the fur sticking up on end as the wind rushed about her ears "course I never changed it, ha! Why should I?" She paused licking her lips, her ears wiggling again "how ever do you lions tay still in this weather?" She sat up straight again and ran off in to the grass soon returning and skidding to a halt and boxing playfully with her front paws.

"You box you lions? You know I come from a long line of boxin' hares, greatest in this area, ha if I was a male as my name sort of says I'd be a boxer. Females, we aint meant to box ya see, but that don't stop me" she grins standing up tall as she could ehr ears flattening against her ead as she looked at the lioness.

Ary Keeyara
Oohhh! Nkechi stared after the hare in awe as she darted around. Induna...why was that a strange name. But then, she couldn't possibly know what it meant so that was probably why she didn't understand. She loped after the hare lightly, watching as she...erm...boxed, was it? She had never seen anything like it before...

"Boxing...? What's that...erm...I mean...how doe sit work?" Nkechi asked curiously, looking genuinly interested. Her ears perked forward slightly and her tail swished happily to the side.

Syrius Lionwing
"you aint never boxed before huh?" she tlted her head "I don't spose yuou lions ave the equuiptment really" she clears her throat and stands as tall as she can lifting up her front paws in a defencive manner. Her paws curled slightly "you ave to put up your dukes foirst ya see, then ye looks for an opponant" looking down, her own shadow cast away beneath her "Myol man ' e was the greatest shadow boxer in the world, scared is own shadow away 'e did" she grins hopping from one foot to the other as she hits at nothing, ehr shadow of course mimicing her movements.

She sits and looks at Nkechi "your go little un just raise up ya dukes and don't forget to bounce around, your shadow will fight back if ya aint careful.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi had no problem being called little one...though she was far bigger then the black and white hare. Perhaps it was because she was so used to being...well, the one asking questions like a little child. She watched her curiously for a moment, as though watching would teach her exactly how to do it, "Oh...ok..."

Then, slowly, she got carefully onto her hind legs. It was a little harder then it looked, but she managed to stand. She then tried to curl her paws like she had been shown but...found her toes wouldn't curl the same way. So she bent her paw over instead, uncertainly, pushed forward with one. Then, carefully she tried the other. She then remembered she was supposed to hop. When she tried to do this too, however, she fell promptly onto her tush. "Ooffff!"

Syrius Lionwing
Induna chuckled lightly hopping over the lioness she sat with all four paws on the ground "does take a little practice" she grins and licks her lips as she nudges the ltitle female "Course, i really don't think lions are cut out for shadow boxin' you're kinda yano, big and clumbsy, no offence but you can't move like a hare!"

The little black and white hare got to her paws again and hopped backwards boxing at her shadow before hop skipping and diving about in a racing fashion coming to an abrupt halt before Nkechi "Practice makes perfect tho an bruses heal I assure ya" she grins sitting upa again her ears twitching as she looked around. Despite being with a predator, there might be otehrs around not so friendly, she didn't want to be lunch.

Ary Keeyara

"Yeah...I guess I am rather clumsy," Nkechi murmured with a sheepish smile. She didn't normally do a whole lot that required her to be...agile. Sure she hunted when the family didn't have anything collectively to eat, but it wasn't often and she was very bad at it. It was a wonder she was so scrawny...but she didn't seem unhealthy so it seemed ok.

She got up and struggled back onto two legs to try again. She might be a clutz, but she liked to try her best! She folded her paws and tried again, bounding a little better this time and managing a few weak jabs(which were more like flails) before falling over again.

Syrius Lionwing

Induna grinned at the lioness and gave a chuckle "now you're getting it, not bad for a lion!" shegrinned wiggling her comical ears again "We'll make a shadow boxer out of you yet we will!" The hare grinned demonstrating her own 'boxing' skills by bounding about occasionally diveing as she beat the air with her furry toes.

Ary Keeyara
"Hehe! Alright!" Nkechi got back up and tried again. She still didn't quite understand what boxing was supposed to be for but...it was fun! She couldn't help but smile as she tried it and giggle when she fell. Within moments she'd be back up, trying it again. She could never hope to match Induna's skill, but that didn't matter to her. Enjoying her time with a new friend was what counted right?

Syrius Lionwing

Induna smiled as they played at their boxing "ya know you're alright for a lion nkechi" she smiled and settled down nibbling on some grass for a moment her ears rotating a bit. "you want some grass? it's good for ya!" she states with a grin chewing a mouthful as soon as she'd said it.

The little hare stretched a bit, she was ready for a run, hares got silly when it was sindy, tearing through the grasseswithout a care in the world. Of course, some wheer careless they walked in to the mouth of a predator. Not her though. She was always listening, always watching.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi finally settled back down on her paws to take a rest. Wow! Boxing sure was tiring. She was smiling though, even if she had to take a moment to catch her breath. "T-thanks! You're a really nice hare, too," she swished her tail to the side in joy, glad to have made another friend. Meeting people out here in the graveyard didn't happen to often, after all.

She frowned sadly at Induna as she offered grass, "I don't think I should...I...erm...tried some when I was a cub and my belly didn't seem to like it." She winced, remembering the indigestion she had had that night
.

Syrius Lionwing

Induna smiled lightly and chuckled "Yeah thats acos you're a predator, ya aint sposed to eat grass" she grins broadly "still thought i should offer" her tail tip twitched as she nibbled at the green stems finally seemingly she had her fil and she sat looking at the lioness "you live around here then?" she tilted her head her ears flopping to one side. "Don't see many lions around, plenty of hyeeenas though, them damn dogs make an awful racket they do!" She paused after this sentence and started to clean her face with her paws, her tiny pink tongue licking at her toes before she pulled an ear to her mouth and licked the tips clearing it of dust.

"I hears tell theres places with no blinkin' dust! Would you beleive it? I should move theer! The savannah just aint no good on my coat" she stops in her cleaning and sits once again.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi swallowed hard. Hyenas? Well...she hadn't met very many, but maybe that had just been dumb luck. Her brother had gotten hurt pretty bad by one and she had been terrified when she had met one out among the bones. She was extremely scared of them...but then, Nkechi could be easily scared if whoever it was didn't resemble a lion or look cute and fluffy.

Her ears perked at the mention of a place without dust, though. "Hey...maybe that's the place my brother was talking about. He said there was a place that was really green and had lots of animals and everyone was happy there...or something...and he said there were flowers..." She sighed whiskfully. She really wished there were more flowers around here.

Syrius Lionwing

"I bin thinkin' bout goin' to a place like that. No m,ore dust where it's all green and pretty. You ever think 'o' leavin' this place then? I'd like to travel some wheer nice away from all the dogs, but I'd prolly just get eaten' s'problem bein' a hare ya see. Your'e lunch for most everyone!" she chuckles. She obviously wasn't too worried about it.

Ary Keeyara
"That's awful..." Nkechi said with a frown, not finding her light manner of talk about being eaten amusing. She didn't like the idea of her friend being on the menu. Her ears then twitched uncertainly at the question the hare had asked, "Well...I've always wanted to leave, to tell the truth but...I...don't want to be all by myself...and..." She paused, looking a little ashamed, "...I get so scared..." It was highly doubtful she'd be able to handle being on her own in the outside world and she knew it. That was one of the few reasons she stayed in this place, despite her longings to leave.

Syrius Lionwing

"ah ya can't worry bout gettin' eaten al the time! You'd never have a life that way" Induna smiled and cuffed the little lioness with a paw "well ya know, if you come with me, you won't be alone now will ya?" she grins "an' ya know, you're kinda at the top of the food chain roun' here so you could stop me gettin' eaten" TYhe hare grins in a cheeky sort of manner. She was getting rather attached to the lioness. Imagine being frightened when you were all the way at the top of the food chain!

The little hares ears wiggled a bit as she looked around, checking once again that nothing was about to come and chew on her furry butt. "theres sposed to be places where it's all green grass and water and lotsa shade. s'paradice ya know?" She smiles her ears wiggling comically once again.

Ary Keeyara
"I suppose that's true," Nkechi said with a nod, feeling rather foolish for being such a scaredy cat. After all, look at how brave Induna was! She shouldn't be so frightened then...right? As for the leaving part...well, it sounded wonderful! It made her heart flutter with excitement but...then she made herself stop. She couldn't just up a leave...at least not without telling everyone.

"Uh...well...it's sounds so great! But I'd need to tell everyone...in case they get worried or something..." she murmured. Whether or not they would actually get worried was hard to tell. Toshi probably would but...she wasn't sure about anyone else. She didn't see much of her family lately.

(( Mm...she can't really leave with Induna because I'm plotting to have her leave with Fallen's firekin. :3 Unless Induna trails along with them...*shrug* ))

Syrius Lionwing

Induna scratched her ear while she listened to the little female "it's not like I'm in a hurry or anything." she smiled dropping her foot slowly to the ground "Yoou take your time. I'll be around, just give me a call if you need me"

The little hare stood then and stretched all of her limbs one at a time "now, if you'll excuse me, I have some runnin' to do" Her ears waggled about randomly for a moment and she stood up before tearing off in to the gras. Ocassionally the tips of her ears would be seen above the stems. She must have stood up. She reappeared out of the grass for a moment and waved a paw before diving back in again, the wind had rushed to her now, she needed to act like a lune as all hares did when the wind was up.

((it's okay I dunno where Induna ish acctually going at the moment she's just random rpage right now. But if you'd like her to come I will gladdly have her follow as long as the firekin doesn't eat her XD!))

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi watched her go with a friendly smile, "Ok! See you later then!" She let out a contented sigh when the hare had vanished. Mm...she loved the fuzzy feeling she got after a good encounter. It was like her stomach was filled with warm, happy butterfies. She stood up and loped back to walk along the graveyard border, not ready to head back inside the lands just yet.

(( x3 Well, I know Chi wouldn't let him eat her. Dunno if he'd try or not though. lol. Thanks for the rp. <3 Loooved it. ))

Completed Roleplay

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi had drifted out to the graveyard borders again. She might as well have found a den there, since it seemed she was wandering the grasses every chance she got. She couldn't help it. It was so much nicer out here then it was among the huge loomy bones and their scary shadows. No, it was far more welcoming in the warm sunshine and yellow stalks of grass.

She had found a spot to rest, rolling onto her back and gazing up at the blue sky. While her coat didn't blend in, she was a little harder to see surrounded by the brush. She sighed in content, her whiskers lifting slightly as she smile. Such a nice day!

FallenMercury

The day was far darker for the former Firekin, who had just patrolled closely around the borders of his former home. Grief and rage clouded his mind and he shook his fluffy head, his dark chestnut mane sweeping around it gracefully. Manoari's lip curled back and his thoughts wandered. Why did I run? Why couldn't I have just gone through with the plan and seized the damn throne? He let out a soft growl and his claws unsheathed, scraping the soft earth.

Whisking his lean tail to the side, he suddenly burst forth with an odd surge of energy, running over the grassy plains with the wind in his mane. The brisk air calmed him slightly and he almost forgot his troubles until he noticed a shadowy form looming on the horizon, with the silhouette of the Graveyard nearby. He slowed to a halt and lowered his head, his gray eyes flashing slightly.

Padding up with the utmost of stealth, he crept through the tall blades of grass with barely a sound. However, he dropped the stealth act when he was almost right beside her and simply stood up, staring down at her with cold steel eyes.

"Hello." His voice was deep and rumbling, and not particularily kind.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi hadn't been paying attention. When did she ever? The girl really knew very little of life's dangers, though she thought she knew when fear gripped her. But strangely, none of those situations where her fright had been arosed were logical. Nothing had really ever been there to fear anyway. So when someone came over to where she was, she didn't even notice until he said something.

She almost jumped up with surprise, blinking her white green eyes. Oh! For a moment her heart threatened to spring from her chest, but she relaxed when she saw it was a lion. She had no fear of any lions, strangely. Somehow she had this odd notion that all lions were good anyway, so they didn't need to make her afraid. She smiled sheepishly, slightly embaressed at her shock, "Oh! Hiya!"

FallenMercury

Raising a brow, the muscular lion began to pace around the female, the tips of his ears twitching lightly. This one was too trusting - he assumed that she hadn't seen the terror that the world could produce. His lip curled slightly in a sneer at the thought.

A thought suddenly occured to him. Too trusting? That was perfect! He could convince her of the lovely life she would live in his pride, and take her back triumphantly as a new slave... his tail drooped as he remembered that it was no longer 'his' pride. He had left, and he would never have the opportunity to serve them as such.

Still, he thought, it could be possible to manipulate her. He almost smirked at the thought, but quickly stopped himself so as not to seem suspicious. "Hiii," he drew the word out, finding it strange to say. He was used to much more formal greetings, but he did not want to seem too strange to her. "What's your name?" He forced himself to sound cheerful and smile as he reclined to his haunches, his tail wrapping around his legs.

Ary Keeyara

Nkechi thought he might have sounded...what was the word...cranky?...before, but as he greeted her again she was sure she must have been mistaken. He seemed nice! And cheery too. She smiled warmly and rolled over onto her belly, pushing off against the ground to sit up, "I'm Nkechi!" She chirped happily, her white and brown ears pulling forward, "What about you?"

It was nice to have company again! She really liked meeting new people...especially since she was usually alone out here. It was nice to have someone to talk to. The more friends the better, right?

FallenMercury
Grinning, both for the act and because she seemed to fall for it, he bowed his head graciously. "Mm, Nkechi? A beautiful name for a beautiful lioness." He shook his head and allowed his mane to fluff out. "My name? My name is Manoari." Once moe, he dipped his head and swept out his paw as if bowing.

"What are you doing here, so close to this dreadful graveyard?" His eyes flicked briefly to the towering mass of bones that loomed on the horizon before turning his steely gaze back down on her. "I would imagine one such as yourself would be uncomfortable here? After all, I've heard terrible stories of the filthy beasts that live here... hyenas and such."

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi looked rather surprised. No one had ever called her beautiful before. She really wasn't sure how to react. And he was sooo polite! So proper! It almost made her want to feel uneasy, yet somehow she couldn't. It actually made her feel a little happy and warm and fuzzy inside.

Her ears flickered back shyly, "Well...I was born here and live her with my family..." She shifted slightly. The graveyard was scary after all. Sometimes she wondered why she didn't leave. But then she remembered she didn't want to be alone, "And it is a little scary but...I guess I'm ok."

FallenMercury
Noari shook his head, clucking his tongue lightly. "Well, at least you live with your family." With sudden inspiration, he added gravely, "I never knew my family very well... they all died when the plague ran through my pride." He sighed, looking away, allowing his head to droop down. Inwardly, however, he was chuckling to himself. His plan was unfolding perfectly. Soon, she'd be water in his paws...

He was a filthy brute, and was rather proud of it.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi looked absolutely horrified, "Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry..." Her green eyes widened in distress and sadness. Oh, the poor guy! She couldn't imagine not knowing her family. Sure her family was strange at times...and but she loved them all! She couldn't imagine being all alone! How awful!

"It must have been so awful...I'm sorry," Sorry, sorry, sorry, she said it but nothing was her fault. The girl was far to niave for her own good, but of course she didn't realize that. She was genuinely sad for him.

FallenMercury

His head remained bowed though he snuck a peek at her through the tufts of his mane. Heaving a sigh, he breathed out, "Well, these things happen. It is awfully lonely, though." He tilted his head up towards the sky, his eyes widening slightly. "Why, though..." he paused, before shifting his gaze back to Nkechi. "Why do you stay here, when you're frightened by your very home?" He blinked once before continuing, "I understand that your family lives here, but..." he trailed off, shrugging.

"I suppose you know best.. I was just curious."

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi looked away, her ears pressing against her head. She hesitated before murmuring, "I'd be...afraid to go out by myself...I'm not strong or anything...and I don't want to be lonely-" She stopped herself, looking a little dismayed, "Oopps! I'm sorry...I suppose that's how you feel isn't it? Guess the loney bit isn't an excuse..." She curled her tail around her paws sheepishly. Well, that had been insensative of her! Really, complaining when he seemed to have far more troubles then she did...wow, she was ungrateful. She should be ashamed of herself.

FallenMercury

He lifted his head, a glimmer streaking through his eyes as he ventured carefully, "Well, if you ever change your mind, and feel like exploring the world... wandering away from this gloomy place, seeing new places, feeling the wind in your fur as you run through the open fields.." he sighed almost dreamily and looked at her once more, a soft smile creeping across his lips.

"Well, if you ever want any of those things, you're welcome to come with me. The gods know I could use some company."

Ary Keeyara
Oooohh...that sounded so nice! Nkechi felt the descriptions tug on her heartstrings, imaging seeing fields of flowers and huges lakes and grass as far as the eye could see...and no scary skulls leering at her night and day. Oh, how she wanted to go! But what about her family....?

Wait. That wasn't right. Her family? What about his family. He didn't have one. He was all alone. That wasn't fair...if she stayed...she'd be being selfish. And would she really be happier being selfish and staying? No...perhaps it was better to go. She paused, looking a little uncertain, "...you sure you'd want me along with you?"

FallenMercury

He offered her his most winning smile, bowing his head though keeping his eyes locked on hers. "Absolutely certain. You're rather charming company, really - you don't blabber on and on like some other lions I've met, and you're kinder than most I have met as well." He looked away for a moment, and added casually, "Of course, I can understand if you wouldn't want to leave your family. I'd be fine on my own, really. It was just an offer... just consider it, will you?" He turned back to her and offered another flattering smile.

Ary Keeyara

Ohhh, he had such a nice smile! It made her feel warm inside too. Such a lovely lion! How could she possibly say know? Especially when...well, he needed company, even if she wasn't the best company. She was thrown off still by his compliments...for she never thought so well of herself. While she wasn't one to dislike who she was, she didn't find what she did to be anything spectacular...so it was very different to hear.

"Ah...well...of course! Um..." Her ears flickered thoughtfully as she looked back at the graveyard. She wouldn't be sad to leave it behind...but she would for her family. But then...sometimes she wondered if they'd be sad to see her go. She knew they loved her, but they always had stuff to do, "Well...would I have time to say goodbye?"

FallenMercury
His eyes brightened for more reasons than she knew and he smiled slightly, leaping to his paws. "Nkechi..." her name came tumbling from his throat in a purr, "you would have all the time you need." His tail flicked and he padded around her, tilting his head to the side. "Would you really come with me?" His deep voice sounded eager as a cub and he actually allowed himself a real smile. Everything was working out perfectly.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi beamed, no longer seeming unsure about her choice. Look at how happy he was! And she could always visit her family again, right? "Of course! I'd really like that..." Her ears perked forward slightly and her eyes shut with her smile. Maybe leaving wouldn't be so hard after all! She only hoped her family wouldn't mind. Though she didn't really think of why they possibly could. They all knew she didn't like the graveyard. Toshi had even said she should leave someday.

FallenMercury
He let out another purr of pleasure and nodded slightly. He felt a twinge of something but quickly pushed it away. Emotion was the last thing he needed right now when his plot was falling into place so perfectly. "You've made me a rather happy lion, Nkechi." He dipped his head. "Thank you. I've always wanted a traveling companion." He leaned forward and gave her ear a quick, friendly lick. "I'll wait for as long as you need to say goodbye to your family. I can only imagine how hard it must be." He smiled, before adding, "and I'm honoured you would make such a huge change in your life for me."

If only she knew...

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi felt warmth spread to her face and ears, though it was obviously not visable. Ohhh~He was so sweet! Such a nice friend! It wasn't hard at all to make the choice to travel with him. And hadn't she always wanted to anyway. "Thank you...I'd have a time finding them, probably," she murmured softly, "But...I've always wanted to see some other places! It'll be fun." It was always fun being with someone. And then there was going to be traveling...oh, she was so excited now!

FallenMercury
Noari tossed his mane and nodded to Nkechi, offering her a smile before rising to his paws again. "I will wait for you, Nkechi. Meet me on the north end of the Graveyard when you are ready to go." Bowing his head, he said nothing more as he trotted off into the fields once more, skirting the Elephant Graveyard, heading for the north end.

.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :.
Completed Roleplay

FallenMercury
Just as he had promised, Manoari was waiting on the north end of the Graveyard for Nkechi. He couldn't believe how simple and naive the girl was - it had barely taken him two sentences to convince her to leave her entire life behind and come with him! He almost threw his head back and laughed. Yes, the girl was naive, but she seemed strong enough to bear him a healthy heir - which, in the end, was all he really cared about.

He wasn't quite sure what he'd do yet once the cub had been born. After all, he couldn't just take the cub and leave - he obviously couldn't give the cub the nourishment that it needed to survive, and what good was a dead heir? Noari pondered for a moment before the realization struck him. Of course - stay with her and play the part of a "loving mate" - he almost snorted with laughter at the thought - then, when the cub was old enough, simply take it while she slept and leave. He smirked. It seemed almost foolproof.

His lips parted as he yawned, exposing his vicious fangs. Shuddering slightly, as one does when one yawns, he blinked his steely eyes a few times, beginning to grow impatient. Surely it wouldn't take that long to say goodbye to a family? With a snort, he reminded himself that he wouldn't know - when he left his home, he had no family to say goodbye to. Sighing, he wrapped his tail around his haunches and continued to wait.

Ary Keeyara
Nkechi loped toward the northern part of the graveyard, looking a little nervous. It was hard to think this would be her last time seeing the scary loomy skulls and dark shadows. And it would be the last time she could just walk around and find her family. It was a little saddening, especially since she had been only able to find her father, but she had a feeling about it...she had to do it. She had to finally get out of this place, if only to see what it was like.

When she saw Manoari in the distance she brightened slightly. Oohh~! There he was. She smiled with a cute twitch of her ears and bounded forward to meet him, her tan colored tail swishing behind her, "Manoari~!" She sounded so happy...it was ironic that she was being used, with how excited she was.

FallenMercury
Noari lifted his head, his eyes flicking towards Nkechi. Inwardly, he mumbled finally... but he smiled all the same. "Nkechi," his deep voice rumbled as he got to his paws. "I hope it wasn't too hard for you?" Though his eyes showed concern, inwardly, he didn't particularily care. All that mattered was that she was here, and soon they'd be leaving.

Without waiting for an answer, he added, "Ready to go?" A broad grin spread across his lips and he flicked his tail eagerly.

Ary Keeyara
"Well...erm...I could only find my Daddy...so hopefully everyone else will be ok..." She murmured sheepishly. It was really sad but...everyone was always off on their own doing something that sometimes she just couldn't find them. Well...anyway, she at least seemed prepared to go none the less.

She smiled and nodded her head, "Y-yeah! I guess I am." She shifted her paws, still seeming a little nervous. She was leaving. Wow...it was just so...wow.

FallenMercury
Noari dipped his head, padding to her side and giving her a soft nudge with his cold nose. "It'd be okay," he purred, flicking his tail. "It's hard now, but you can always come back and visit them." The promise wasn't completely empty - once he took off with the cubs, she'd be free to do whatever she wanted.

Twitching his ears, he lifted his furry head and glanced around with his steely eyes. "So, it's time to go. You do the honours... which direction shall we head?"

Ary Keeyara
"Uh..." She blinked, looking a little startled. She had to choose? She really hadn't thought about where they would go...she had thought he had had an idea. It looked like she was wrong.

Her ears flickered back slightly, "Uh...well...I....don't know...I didn't really...think about it..." She looked embaressed and only seemed to offer a sheepish smile as compensation.

FallenMercury
He chuckled, though silently wished she had just picked a direction and gone with it. "How about this... north, south, east or west?" He flicked his tail, indicating each direction. "I have some idea of where we could go, but really, since you're the guest, you should choose."

Then he remembered she had never left the graveyard.

"Well, we could head towards the Pridelands, or towards the Firekin lands. We could move towards the mountains, or the jungle. Or, of course, we could go to the Southlands." Honestly, those places meant about as much to him as they meant to her, because he had only been away from the Firekins for a few days. Still, he thought she might see it as polite to give her the option, and he needed to win as much of her trust as possible.

Ary Keeyara
Mm...she remembered her brother speaking of a really nice place once. It was when they were cubs and they were watching the clouds. Something about...a pretty red male living there and there being lots of flowers and water and food. Someone else had told her about it too, but she couldn't quite remember.

"Uh...well...do you know what...the place is that...lots of lions lived in...and it was warm and...there were lots of flowers? It sounded really nice...I'd really like to se it..." She hoped she was being so vague. He was so understanding though~! So kind! She was grateful.

FallenMercury
He frowned, racking his mind for a place that matched the description. "The... Ela'wadiyi?" He blinked, thinking some more. "The Pridelands?" He didn't know much about either place, and truthfully was just pulling names out of his ears. "I... I'm not really sure," he faltered, before adding, "though I hear the both those places are nice... especially the Pridelands." Privately, he gagged. He had heard tales of the peaceful, loving pride - not his idea of life.

Ary Keeyara
"Ohhh, may we go there, please?" She looked up at him with round, sparkling emerald eyes. She looked truely excited at the idea...and really cute. It didn't even seem like she meant to...it was just the way Nkechi was.

Pridelands sounded right. If she remembered correctly, that would be the name of the place her brother spoke of...and others had told her of it too! It never occured to her that he would dislike the place. How could anyone hate something so lovely sounding as that?

Noari tried incredibly hard to hide his disappointment and disgust. "S..sure," he stammered, getting the word out as fast as possible. "Pridelands it is." There was a twinge in his stomach as she looked up at him hopefully, but he ignored it, not knowing what it was.

"It's not far from here," he added grudgingly, though he tried to make his voice sound as pleasant as possible. "In fact, once you leave the Graveyard, you're pretty much in the Pridelands."

He just hoped she wouldn't want to join the pride. If that happened, he'd have to change all of his plans, because he sure as hell was not going to be stuck in such a place.

"Really?! Ohhh, that's so wonderful!" She beamed in delight and began to bound forward in the direction it was supposed to be. Her strides were energetic, almost like a cubs, but they had a slight grace that only an older female could have.

She glanced back over her shoulder with a bright, warm smile in his direction, "Come on! It'll be so much fun!" At least, she assumed it would. Poor girl couldn't read anyone, could she?

When she turned and began to pad away, he rolled his eyes. Typical - he just got roped into going the last place he wanted to visit. The worst part was that he couldn't very well do anything about it without seeming suspicious. Nodding as she turned back, he offered a tentative smile, striding towards her to keep up. "Oh yes, fun!" he rumbled, trying to give his voice an edge of cheeriness that he was not used to.

Nkechi giggled, her voice the sound of light, tingling bells. Each step she took was bouncy and with purpose. Ohh~! She was traveling at last! If only Toshi could see her! He'd always wanted to travel too...he would have been trilled! She began to hum she was so cheerful, barely paying any attention to where she was going. She had never gone anywhere before so...she really didn't know what to expect. Nor did she know how long it was going to take to get here. Ah well! She was going to have fun with her new friend. It'd be a wonderful trip!

.: The Tapestry - Nkechi :.
Completed Roleplay

Nkechi hadn't known traveling took so long! It was a little disapointing to find that after about a day's traveling they still hadn't gotten there. She had gotten tired quickly, not used to the vigerious activity. And her paws had ached terribly, causing a little less sleep then usual. But today she seemed bright and cheerful again, as only Nkechi could be.

She had bounded along in delight when they had come to a huge watering hole. Animals flocked to it for miles around and it stretched really far. Water was harder to find in the graveyard, so seeing so much in one spot was a delight. "Ohh, look! It's so pretty!" She giggled as she raced down to the bank, splashing into the shallows.

Noari twitched his tail, worn down by the young lioness's constant energy and enthusiasm. He briefly wondered if THIS was what it was like to be a father, but shook the thought away. Even a cub couldn't be as pesky as Nkechi!

He took a few steps towards the watering hole with hesitation, worried about what might happen. Would he be splashed, or even pulled in? Shrugging it off, he reminded himself that he couldn't show weakness, no matter how trivial it may be. "I bet water isn't very common in the Graveyard, is it?"

"Nope! It was always hard to get clean water...we even dug a trench to get some water in, but even with that not much actually came," Nkechi chirped cheerfuly in reply as she waded among the lilies and reeds. It felt so nice, to have the water flowing through her fur! Though it did make her paws sting a little due to the blisters from yesterday. As she walked about on the shallow, muddy bottom she coudn't help but be distracted by the colorful pink birds in the distance, "Ohh, what are those?! They're so pretty!"

Noari narrowed his eyes, peering into the distance. "Those?" He caught sight of the flamboyant birds and smiled, glad to know something that Nkechi didn't - which wasn't particularily rare, but always a triumph in his mind. "Those're flamingos. Strange birds with vibrant colours."

Oh, how tempting it was to simply give a mighty roar and scare the birds away - not to disappoint Nkechi, but to give himself a feeling of power, though he'd never admit it. However, he refrained from doing so. She was clearly delighted with their presence and he didn't want to spoil that.

"Ohhh~! I wonder how they get their feathers that color!" Nkechi mused allowed, her voice oozing with feeling. She looked at him and beamed, "You're so smart! I would never have been able to guess what they were!"

She then went back to being distracted by...well, everything else in the area. Fish darted in the shallows in clear view. She stared at them, bringing her head down near the water. When a bigger, brightly colored fish swam by she took in a breath of awe-only to get water up her nose. She sneezed and fell backwards into the water with a splash.

For the first time, he felt a tug of worry pull at his stomach. Frowning at himself, he shook off the notion but still called out, "Are you okay, Nkechi?" in his deep, rumbling voice. He took a few careful steps forward, not going very close to the water, but close enough that he could see her and check to make sure she was alright.

What am I doing? he wondered briefly, lifting a lip.

Nkechi smiled awkwardly, looking sorry, "Y-yeah...I'm fine! Guess I got a little water up my nose." She looked betraggled and wet, but unharmed. Silly girl, being clumsy like that. She was sorry to have worried him...or she asumed she had because he had asked.

She got up as though nothing had happened and waded into the deeper water, still peering around the area with curiousity. She should have been more careful though-the saying was that curiousity killed the cat, after all.

Noari flicked his tail, nodding at Nkechi as she reassured him that he was fine. Inwardly, however, he seethed at himself. What was that about? he wondered, narrowing his eyes and furrowing his eyebrows. Shaking the thought away, he padded closer to the water, touching it awkwardly with his forepaw. Flinching, he drew back.

No, definitely not a fan of water.

It was a shame Nkechi didn't follow Noari's example. For not far away, in the deeper parts of the watering hole lurked green, scaley hunters. Pairs of eyes blinked above the surface, watching the animals drinking at the edge of the water. Most were alert and ready to dart away. But Nkechi was just swimming along without much of a care. She was an easy target.

Nkechi didn't notice. She was only observant when she wanted to be. "Noari~! Come swim! It's fun!" She giggled, charmed by the water and its strange pleasures.

Noari blinked and narrowed his eyes, twitching the tip of his tail. "Mm... I'm not much of a swimmer," he rumbled, lifting his lip slightly. He prodded at the water again with the tip of his paw, snorting.

"Awww, why not?" Nkechi questioned brightly. It didn't occur to him he might not like the water, simply. "I don't swim well either, but it's fun!" She giggled and paddled around, looking rather rediculous. At least she seemed to be enjoying herself.

He shrugged, blinking once or twice. "I, uh, don't like the..."

Noari trailed off, taking in a quick breath. A gentle ripple of water moved near Nkechi and his heart skipped a beat. "N...Nkechi..." he stuttered rather uncharacteristically, trembling slightly. "Move!"

At the same instant that he called out, the crocodile twitched and sprang forward at the lioness. Without even thinking, he threw himself forward into the water, his claws unsheathed, clawing furiously at the reptile. The crocodile's jaws snapped just inches from Noari's tail as the mighty lion sank his fangs into the crocodile's nose.

Nkechi at first had no idea what was going on. Why was he yelling at her...? She lifted her head in confusion, seeing the ripple of water far too late out of the corner of her eye.

She shrieked.

Terrified she was knocked sideways in the water and pushed under the surface. She floudered in panic and horror, flailing her paws about in the water. She struggled back to the surface trying to get away from whatever it was that was attacking! Anything to get away!

Noari fought like a god, thrashing at the crocodile, battering at it with his paws and biting in any place possible. By the time he drove the reptile off, Noari was bleeding profusely from many various slashes and wounds across his torso. Panting, he barely had the energy to paddle back to shore by Nkechi. Sputtering lightly, he coughed up a few mouthfuls of water that he had swallowed during the fight. With a final shudder, he finished vomiting and turned feebly towards Nkechi.

"You okay?" he asked simply.

Nkechi had, but some godsend, had made it to shore. She was wreck, poor dear. Never had she imagined something would attack her from the water! She was sobbing hystarically with terror, shaking like mad. At first she didn't even notice Noari, but when she did she dove under his forelegs with a cry. She was scared out of her witts!

A pang of sympathy - something he had never felt before in his life - jabbed through his chest, more painful even than the bleeding wounds inflicted by the crocodiles. Unsure of what to do, for lack of any experience in comforting someone else, he tentatively raised a paw and laid it on her back in a reassuring fashion.

"A..are you okay?" he stuttered, the shock finally settling into him. He had been in some fights before, but never with anything as dangerously deadly as a crocodile. He winced as a searing pain lanced through his battered body but kept his paw steady on Nkechi's back.

At first her words were drowned out by her sobs and were impossible to understand. She continued to blubber for a few moments more, shuttering under his paw. Finally she seemed to muster enough energy to look up at him, still crying her her terrified fashion. Silly girl even looked cute when she was horrified.

"W-what was that?" She squeeked, her voice tiny. She stared at him for a moment, her mouth open as her tears seemed to go on pause. She then bolted up, looking even more dismayed, "You're hurt!"

A shudder ran through his body, causing his entire being to tremble. "A crocodile," he choked out, shaking his head lightly. Tiny spatters of blood appeared on the ground, though his wounds were slowly beginning to stop bleeding. "I've never had a run in with one before."

"Oh..." he looked over his shoulder at his body, marred with angry red slashes. "It's no big deal," he mumbled. Suddenly, he realized how un-angry he was at her, but rather, concerned. Narrowing his eyes, he tried to shake the notion off by growling, "You should be more careful!"

Something glinted within his eyes, however, and if Nkechi looked hard enough, she could see just how scared he had been - something very uncommon for the cold lion.

Nkechi was still upset. She had never really seen any serious wounds before...well...she hadn't seen anything beyond a couple of cuts or something. She had never whitnessed anything quite like Noari's wound and it frightened her! "It's bleeding everywhere!" She cried, not in fear of the blood or getting dirty, but in fear for him. "Will you be ok? Can we stop it? Can I do anything?" She squeeked. But when he scolded her her brown and white ears flickered back in dismay.

Ohhh~! "It was all my fault!" She whimpered in horror, "I'm sorry! I should have been more careful! I'm so stupid...and now you're hurt! I'm sorry~!"

Noari heaved a sigh, not wanting her to blame herself. "No, I should've been watching too," he growled, flicking his ears. He arched his neck and began to lick at the worst wound, which was located on his shoulder.

"Anyway," he rumbled as he continued to clean the slash, "I'll be fine. They just need some time to stop bleeding. I've seen worse than this before."

He refrained from mentioning that the lion with those wounds did not live to see the next day.

"You're..." he blinked but continued, "you're not stupid, Nkechi. Anyone could've made that mistake. You couldn't see the crocodile because it was just barely above the water." In a stern voice, he added, "You shouldn't blame yourself."

She swallowed, seeming uncertain. It sure seemed like it was her fault...but if he said it wasn't he had to be right. He was always right, wasn't he? After all, she was still so wet behind the ears-she knew nothing. Though it didn't make her feel much better.

What did seem to help was the knowledge that he was going to be ok. She had be afraid he would die or something! That sure showed how much she knew about this kind of thing. "C-can I help...?" She questioned slowly, sheepishly as she watched him clean his wounds. She could at least do that...right?

"Sure," he purred, seeming pleased at her offer. After all, there were a few places - namely, the middle of his back - that he couldn't reach on his own. His motioned to that particular wound with his tail and began to lick at a deep cut on his foreleg.

Nkechi slunk to her feet in a clumsy rush, obviously eager to help. She moved over to the indicated area. She whined at the gash, feeling horrible inside to see him hurt so. Swallowing her worry-and the fear that still lingered in her mind- she began to clean it carefully. The blood tasted awful and only made her feel more guilty. Ohh, poor Noari! Poor, poor brave Noari!

Pretty soon after she started licking the wound, the blood disappeared and it was clean - red and raw, but no longer oozing blood. Noari closed his eyes, feeling much better now that most of the wounds were clean and stopped bleeding.

"Thanks," he mumbled, possibly for the first time in his life. "That feels a lot better."

"It's nothing," she murmured softly as she finished. She shuffled back to sit at his side, trying not to give him worried looks. Well...at least he wasn't bleeding anymore...though he must be so tired! She felt horribly useless. Well, she did most of the time, but it never seemed to matter until now.

He narrowed his eyes at her, frowning. She seemed so... down. Normally, it wouldn't have bothered him - after all, she was only a tool in the grand scheme of things, right? A female to bear his children? But... he shook his head, still frowning. The poor girl was always so chipper and upbeat, and it was a little disturbing to him how depressed she looked.

Roughly, he pressed his blocky muzzle to her cheek in a reassuring manner. "Don't be hard on yourself," he growled, though not in a completely unfriendly way.

She smiled half-heartedly, feeling a little embaressed. Ohhh, she was being so silly and he was so noble about it! Dear, dear Noari. "I'm sorry...!...I guess I was just....so...scared..." she murmured, her voice going from a slightly chipper apollogy to soft sadness. She had been afraid of not only the croc, but for him as well. She hated being scared. Though...it was over now. She really should stop being such a baby. So she tried to cheer up, "Ah...well...we should rest a bit! Cause...I bet you're tired!..."

Noari wanted to claw himself. He really, really did.

Why was he being so nice!? It wasn't right. Really, she was just a silly, naive girl - not particularily deserving respect or kindness, in his mind. Kindness was shown to those who proved themselves - to the strong, to the brave, to the courageous. She didn't deserve his pleasantries!

...and yet she did. She really did. He shook away his strange, conflicting feelings and focused on the present. "Yeah, rest sounds good." He suddenly felt exhausted, as if a wave of tiredness swept over him instantly.

"Okay~!" Nkechi said with a weak smile, trying to sound exstatic about the idea, "I'll keep watch for a bit. Don't want that scary...um...thing coming back." Though truely she was scared silly at the thought of having to stay up alone, but she needed to do something. So, fighting her trembles, she shifted so she sat facing the water, looking out and pretending to be determined. Ohhh, why was she such a scardy cat?

He nodded slightly, easing himself onto the ground. With a giant yawn, he wrapped his tail around his haunches and laid his head upon his forepaws. Barely awake, he mumbled, "If you see anything, wake me up."

Nkechi nodded, swallowing a little as she gazed out at the water's rippling surface. But as she waited for a horror to jump out at her, nothing did. And eventually she grew tired as well. Slowly her body slipped down and she lay on her bellying, trying her best to gaze out at the water. But eventually her eyes refused to stay open and all the information taken into her mind was whiped away anyway. So she slept.

-------------

The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon when Noari's eyes fluttered open. He felt a surge of strength, though his entire body ached from the tussle with the crocodile. Blinking once or twice, he lifted his head and looked over at Nkechi, who had fallen asleep.

Momentarily he wondered why he wasn't angry, but by that point he had decided not to question his varying feelings. "Nkechi?" He murmured, rising to his paws and padding to her side.

Nkechi was sleeping like a baby, her mouth parted slightly in a little "o". Her ears were pulled back peacefully as well. It was nice to see her fears from the previous day hadn't invaded her dreams. At the sound of his voice she shifted a little, sleeping her eyes half open. She looked up at him with dull, drosy emerald orbs, "Huhhh...?"

A flicker of a smile crossed his lips but he quickly made it disappear. "Ready to wake up?" his deep voice resonated from his chest, a hint of amusement behind his tone. With sheathed claws, he poked the tip of his paw against her side lightly, sitting hunched over her sleepy form.

"Mm...okay..." Nkechi mumbled with a softy, sleepy smile. Her eyes flickered shut for a moment, but slid sluggishly open again as he prodded her. She yawned slightly and tried to roll over and push herself up. She had been tired from yesterday too-probably from worrying so much.

He smirked lightly, flicking his tail. "The sun is coming up. You feel like being lazy today, or d'you feel like actually getting somewhere? Remember, the Pridelands are waiting!"

He prodded her again, tilting his head. The poke was light and his eyes glittered.

"I'm up, I'm up..." She mumbled softly, standing with another small yawn. Her tail flicked to the side slightly. Even if she was standing she wasn't very awake. It was odd, because normally she was an early riser, up and about and greeting the day. She was funny that way-loved to see the morning birds and the sun rising in the newly blue sky. Today she just had a silly, sleepy smile, "Mm...ok...we can go...mm..."

Still smirking, he nudged her slightly. "You can sleep in for a little while longer, if you need. You look like you're about to fall over."

"H-hu? N-nuhh...I'm not I can.....mph...go..." Nkechi mumbled with a twitch of her ears. She tried to open her eyes wider to look awake and altert. It wasn't working too well. But she loped forward clusmily, hoping that her own words reached her body.

Noari blinked and lowered himself to the ground. "You need some rest," he rumbled, twitching the tip of his tail. "Go on, lay down. I'll watch."

Nkechi was going to protest...but then he was already down and she was really tired. So she flopped back on the ground, curling up against his side sleepily. Mm...she supposed the pridelands would have to wait a bit. She had never traveled before and she obviously had no idea how to pace herself.

A look of satisfaction spread over his face and he nodded, pleased. "You gotta pace yourself. If you force yourself to travel when you're tired, you'll be even more exhausted the next day. It's a nasty cycle." He flicked his ears and glanced around.

"Mmm...mokay...Noari~" Nkechi trailed off, going back to sleep again. Wow, that sure was fast. And she sure seemed comfortable this time, all cuddled up next to him. Better then just falling forward due to being so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open. Maybe later in the day they could make some progress. For now, they rested.
