I'm going to try for the first time. I told my friends about it, and they went looking for a straight jacket confused I'm stressing over my characters. Only one has a name.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but names are unimportant... You can just pick one and then change it later if you like.
And I've discovered my method for pushing through writer's block. In spite of exhaustion, I won't let myself go to sleep until I've written at least 2k words. Which means I'm usually up until about 4am. *sighs*

Ah, I can't pump out words well enough in the evening, I always write best very early in the morning... Which is why I will be sticking to waking up at the wee hours of the morning to write for Nano. smile Usually I can pump out about 1k every morning... it's going to take some willpower to pump out 2k... T.T

It's terrible, because your system heals itself best from, like, 10pm-2am. :/ Sleeping is the best way to heal, and I'm always really, really sick, soooo I'm pretty much screwing myself over. e_e
I WOULD do it early in the morning (early morning and (late) night, the only times I seem to be able to write at all with any consistency) except I have chronic fatigue -- it makes sleep weird, and I sleep in too late. D: And I'm always uber tired, too tired to work on my precious, my preeeeecioussss......
*Ahem* I mean, my writing.

*Ahem* I mean, my writing. I know what you mean. Around my fourth editing cycle my eye was twitching so much that I could barely see some days. @______@ I had to force myself to sleep one time because my eye was begging for it. Haha. But after the fourth edit was done I was okay. eh.

I'm going to try to do it this year =o
I'm going to use the 3rd book in the series I'm writing right now.. since it's the only one not previously written in xD; I can never wait long enough to make it to Nov without a book having at least one page written from random inspiration.. heh but this time I might have a chance -pushes on with writing the last part of the 2nd book-

It's always the late hours that it's easiest to write, isn't it? I know it kills me during November- I tend to write my best and the most from twelve AM to three AM. It drives my mom mad, but she's okay with it, since she wants to be supportive of my writing.
-Cough- Whoops. I always get ahead of myself. I'm doing Nano this year as well- last year was my first year, and I won that one. xD I'm really looking forward to it! Even though I don't have a house yet (moving from Oregon to Minnesota- everything's a mess), and my laptop screen has died for good, and my laptop screen has died, so I don't have a computer, either. Still, I will prevail!

It's the opposite for me. I go to be early and wake up at 5. My best writing is done between 5am-7am. smile

Really? I can imagine it's much easier for you, then, in that case. Or not- it just seems like it'd be better, since you get the best hours of the night to sleep. xD I work well from those times too, funnily enough; I just hate getting up early with a passion, so the only time I use those hours is when I'm awake throughout the entire night.

NaNoWriMo: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
Simply put, it's where writers try to write 50,000 words in one month. It focuses more on just getting things to flow (a common thing to hear about it is 'No plot? No problem!), but lots use it for finishing novels and the like.
