If you have Ad blocker, you can block just the sparkle graphics.
For the explanation about the Sparkles, there is a blog on Gaia that states it is for security reasons, like for trading your items on the trade system. Like for example the fake Winter Rose.

I've said this before in another thread, but whatever's making the sparkles could be the thing that the Holiday Triad is terrified of... it's unearthly, and quite literally extraterestrial, but also possibly magical.

Eh, I highly doubt that the sparkles are the "HE" that Santa and the crew were terrified of. I'd think it would be more related to whomever Crecento is working for, possibly. Though...can't really be sure.
