Black Opal Onsen

An extremely exclusive and extremely private onsen. No public baths exists, only private rooms. Shadowy staff members provide for every guest's needs and for the overall upkeep of this beautiful place.

Overall the theme is very dark and oriented towards the night. It seems to be forever night here as the baths are always open to a starry night sky. It is impossible to hear the conversations of other guests, despite sharing the same view as they do.

Proper etiquette is expected of all guests. Improperly behaved guests will be removed if necessary.

Reception
PostPosted: Mon Aug 31, 2015 10:20 pm

An elegant and traditional reception area, where guests may check on the availability of rooms as well as meet up with their friends.

Most guests use this place as a brief escape from their daily lives, though the staunch traditionalist might find it an acceptable place to spend an extended stay.

Dining is available through room service only. Meals will be delivered at set times or may be delivered by request. Esteemed guests may request whatever they like, though the traditional menu served by default is bound to please even the most particular diner.

A modest washitsu; complete with tatami, fusuma, and shouji. A touch of luxury has been added in the way of a balcony on which to overlook the gardens and forest below. There is also a low table and seating present for guests to take their meals upon. All guests are provided an amount of high quality futon and yukata to match their numbers. An electric kotatsu has also been provided for guests' convenience and comfort. And of course aside from the room has been provided a private area in which to prepare for the bath, including a small bathroom.

Into the bath.

Apart from the washitsu is the private bathing area provided for guests. Though contained by a pool neatly-trimmed with the finest wood, the water does indeed originate from a hot spring. Walls have been constructed for the privacy of guests but contain a vibrant garden within the walls for the comfort and delight of guests as well as a scenic view of the lush forest in the distance. The open air bath also allows for a breathtaking view of the starry night sky above.

Out to the washitsu.

Itxasgorrieta Island

An unexpected island in an undisclosed location. A sky seemingly without a sun has few clouds to be seen. A lush forest surrounds a building looming in the distance. There is no given path to this building, nor any visible entrance on the outside. On the outside it appears to be nothing more than a gigantic fortress.

Hidden inside the armored walls is something far more remarkable. Here lies an immense artificial beach, with many features and amenities. Shops to buy beach supplies, fine dining, and exquisite scenery. Strangely, this place is much more realistic than other artificial beaches. Perhaps even better than the real thing.

While the beach is fully staffed it seems unusually peaceful and quiet. One could almost swear that the people here are but a mirage. But not to fear, there is no hidden curse or horrific secret here. The continued operation and maintenance of this place is out of love and devotion to it.

Accommodations are to be found in a luxurious underground hotel. Stays may be bought by existing club members only, and may only be used by club members and their guests.

Interestingly enough, this superstructure may only be entered from a confidential underground path. Knowledge of the entrance to this path is highly guarded and known to few, and entrance is barred to most.

It is impossible to enter this location by chance. Only those who know the way or are escorted may find themselves here.

Ishetum

The mysterious home of Irazoki Amarante.

In the shadow of a looming Durem cathedral stands a house which time seems to have forgotten about. The air always seems to be a bit foggy here, the fog weaving through and about the sharp iron fence. From a distance the house is barely visible at all... just looks like the dark mass of a passing storm. But up close, the monstrosity of a queen anne style victorian house becomes visible. It's difficult to see what lies out back... but a gnarled old weeping willow tree accents the pale blueish green tint of the house. The shingles are a dark grey, and shutters a dark green. Some dark red splashed in for the trim as a contrast resulted in quite the attractive house front. A series of dark stairs leads up to the main double door of the entrance.

Inside is an eclectic household, marked with old wealth in luxurious materials such as fine wood and expensive marble. The scent of the place is caramel smoke and black narcissus. The japonesque theme of this old victorian house is immediately visible, with elegantly arched doorways and with a scattering of paper lanterns. Though there is no shortage of windows here, the light that makes it through the panes seems to be filtered and is never hot.

There are no locks here, but over the years the house has somehow gained a will of its own. Should the house will it, the doors will be open. Should the house not, the doors will not open.

~Parlour~

Past the exquisite heavy doors lies an exotic parlour, its walls painted a deep honey colour. Echoing the japonesque theme from the rest of the house, a delicate-looking wooden bench is lined by a table on each side with an antique-looking lamp for each. A table lies in front of the bench, for entertaining purposes. Lush plants are found around the room, giving it a more comfortable feel.

~Second Parlour~

In a show of true wealth (and taste, perhaps), a second parlour is also to be found on the first floor. This salmon-tinted room is slightly less formal than the previous, hosting several modest but comfortable chairs and a slick black grand piano.

An oil painting of a man and a woman hangs here. It looks quite old. The expressions of the painting are warm, but the woman looks somewhat sad.

~Dining Room~

A sumptuous formal dining room, complete and elegant to every detail. A handcarved dark wood table is surrounded by many chairs. It looks old, but cherished. One could only imagine the types of people surrounding this table over the years. A cliche but expensive persian rug decorates the floor beneath the table. A large shelf display containing many random odds and ends decorates a nearby wall.

~Kitchen~

Appropriate to a victorian house, the kitchen is small but efficient. Everything is put away, tidy and clean. The surfaces are dark and glossy... mostly made of black marble. The appliances here look vintage, but have been brought up to current standards in functionality. Perhaps an impractical kitchen due to its size and colouring, but the meals and even snacks to come from this tiny room are truly something.

~Lavatory~

A quaint and eclectic bathroom. White, embossed walls give off a feeling of cleanliness. Maybe a victorian water closet would suit this room more, but the modern detailing here and there made it just a little more comfortable. Still, a claw foot tub stands proudly without much of a thought for the newer amenities. The delicate porcelain sink has a lovely oval of a mirror to match. The mirror is neatly trimmed by lights on each side. There are trimmings on the bath for showers, if necessity arises. There is a stained glass window with a small arrangement of flowers in front of it. Aside from the modern commode, there is a simple chair standing in the corner of the room.

~Den~

The scent of caramel smoke is strongest here. With the walls a shade of bole, this room is significantly more masculine than most rooms here. Matching leather furniture lines the smoky walls. Adventurous items fill the room, from globes to a grandfather clock. The central piece is a dark fireplace, with a glowing pilot light. Above the fireplace is a large painting of Date Masamune, done in a sumi-e style. Ashtrays are littered here and there.

~Bar~

Stylish with brass trim and well-worn bar stools, the bar is always fully stocked and open for operation The collection of glasses and bottles here is massive. And the date on this bottle... or that bottle... was it serious? Regardless. Between the shelves and racks of bottles and a large steely refrigerator towards the back... if the heart desires it, it is here.

Unsurprisingly, the bar is one of the few rooms with television installed. A few comfortable leather chairs like the ones in the den are present to accommodate this laziness.

~Library~

What would a big creepy house be without an impossibly large library. Tomes here range from impossibly old to modern day. What, there's a romance novel here? Hmm, couldn't be. The outside light is especially limited here, so old fashioned lamps are necessary to use the room as designated. Long cloth-covered sofas are pressed against the auburn walls for patrons' usage.

~Study~

In contrast to having to study in the library, there is an actual room set aside for this purpose. What clever plans have been penned out across those long-suffering tables? Hard to say. The lighting here is adequate but usually dimmed. For whatever reason. The buff walls are rather plain, aside from a few shade-loving plants.
