Crystalize laughed - guess being gigantic didn't improve your memory or anything - then nodded. "Yep, that's the one," Crys said, beaming when Aodh offered to show him the mountain.
"Really? Are you sure? I mean, I don't wanna intrude on your mother's tribe or anything..." Crys shifted his foot a little bit, not wanting to seem overeager or rude, since the whole politeness thing was obviously important to him.
"...But if you're sure it's okay, then okay!" He grinned widely again, nearly bouncing in excitement at the idea. "Is it cold there?"

"They're not there right now--they come back in like a month. But she wouldn't mind, anyway. Mom says the whole wandering thing is about seeing new places and meeting new people, so I'm sure she'd love to meet you."
Aodh had no doubt that Mom would be happy to meet Crys. She told just about as many stories about seeing news places as she did about meeting new people.
"It's only cold if you climb up the mountain. On the ground it's the same as here."
Aodh started leading the way towards the Gypsy Clan's mountain.

Crys grinned and followed him happily, tail swishing behind him. "Do you like to climb to the top? Or do you fly?" Crys asked curiously, tilting his head as they walked.
He knew that Aodh thought he couldn't do it, 'cause he was tiny, but he'd show him, he would. "What's your mom like, then?"

"Fly up." Definitely. Even though it was tons harder than just walking up (mountains had all kinds of freaky air currents) it was way more fun and exciting too.
"Mom...she's really polite and formal. Thoughtful. Pretty wise. Calm. Calmer than Uncle Ari--if she was into the whole moon and night thing, I think she might be helping lead his tribe by now." It was kind of hard to describe Mom, actually, because he hadn't met anyone like her before. Maybe if he knew more foxes from Kousetsu or Lunarie (besides Uncle Ari and Uncle Kazuki) it'd be different. Aodh had no idea.

"She sounds nice," Crys commented after Aodh finished, smiling slightly. He wanted a mom like that. "Sounds really cool, too," Crys added, remembering the bit about helping lead the other tribe.
"My sister -- real sister, Ko -- she's really calm too. Weirdly calm." He shook his head - sometimes, she needed to lighten up - or all the time. "She'd prolly like your mom a lot,"
They walked in silence for a little while longer, but it was a comfortable sort of silence, and Crystalize didn't mind it.
"What does Aodh mean, anyways? Or does it not mean anything?" Crys finally asked, glancing at his new friend out of the corner of his eye.

"Could be." Was Mom weirdly calm? He guessed, but again, that wasn't a nice thing to say, so he wouldn't say it.
"It probably means something 'cause Mom was the one who named me, but dunno what." Had Mom ever told him what his name meant? Actually, he didn't think so. Maybe he should ask her sometime. Whenever he saw her again.

Crys paused at his response, then quickly realized what it had sounded like. "No! I didn't mean your mom was weirdly calm, I just mean that Ko was weirdly calm and she likes calm people so she'd probably like your mom and I'm sorry!" he finished anxiously, his tail curling up tightly behind him. Crapcrapcrap.
Attempting to get off the awkward subject, Crys continued, "My name means to make something into crystal. 'Bviously."
Well...that was stupid.

Aodh just shrugged at what Crys said. He kinda agreed that Mom could be weirdly calm (one time with a cougar came to mind), but he couldn't exactly say that out loud.
Aodh let Crys change the subject. Much better than secretly agreeing with him, without being able to say that out loud. "So, which one of your parents named you?" That was a safe enough topic, right?

Crys struggled to remember the answer to his question - he barely remembered his father and his mother was just a vague huge warm blur.
"Er..." Crys said, frowning as he thought. "I think it was probably my mom. But I know why, at least?" Crys held up a paw, nodding to the diamond shaped marks on his feet and around his eye and up his tail. "Ko has the same marks, but she'd purple with white instead'a white with purple. We're still twins, though, Ko said,"

"Better than what I know." Now it was starting to bug him--he was sure Mom picked his name for a reason--that was totally her style--but hell if he knew what it was. And she and the tribe wouldn't be back for probably a month, so he'd have that, sitting in his head, driving him nuts, for a whole month.
"Sure you're still twins," Aodh agreed. "Never met any twins before you. It different than having regular siblings?"

"Not really, I don't think," Crys said, shrugging indifferently. "I mean, all my 'doptive family are like my siblings, but Ko's my real family, so...Hrn. I dunno. I guess maybe I feel like she knows me better and I know her better and stuff? I dunno...I dunno how to explain it right."
It was Crys' turn to frown now - he was puzzled. He hadn't ever really thought about his and Ko's bond and how it was different from other siblings' bonds. It was always just sort of there for him. Huh.

"You sure that's not just 'cause she's your real family, and the rest are adoptive?" Aodh shook his head as soon as that came out of his mouth. "Sorry. That's the sort of thing Mom would ask..." he made a face, thinking about turning into Mom. Yeah, she was cool and all, but he was definitely not her!
"So, you guys know each other better. That's cool," Aodh said, pretending like he hadn't just asked Crys that question.

"No, 's okay. I dunno. Probably." Crys shrugged lightly again, chuckling some. "And the rest of the family'll probably know me better soon, I haven't been with them very long at all."

"Uncle Ari is Mom's adoptive brother, and a lot of the family's on his side..." Aodh shrugged, not sure if that counted as adoptive ('cause Mom and Uncle Ari were adoptive) or not ('cause everyone else on Uncle Ari's side of the family were blood related).
"But anyway, 's huge on his side. He's got like...seven kids? And...I dunno, a bunch of grandkids. Six?" Aodh shrugged. "Dunno, never had much to do with the tribe of Amores--one of Uncle Ari's kids is mated to the elder of that tribe."
Come to think of it, there seemed to be a lot of elders in the family...even if Amor was pretty distantly related to him. So, there was Mom, Uncle Ari, Uncle Kazuki, and kind of Amor. Crazy--he had barely realized that before.

Crys nodded, replying, "No, I think your Uncle Ari is your real family. Is there something in the water where you 're from that makes you all be Elders?" Crys joked, obviously not serious. "Anyways, yea, that is a huge family. That's like...thirteen, right there. Yeesh." Crys shook his head goodnaturedly. "Then again...In my adoptive family is about...thirty foxes, give or take? So...guess I have no room to talk." He said with a laugh, offering a grin to his taller friend.
