Term will end February 26. You will have until March 5 to post your house point tallies in the Hour Glasses.
Failure to do so will result in a loss of at least 15 house points from your House!

When posting house points, use the correct form, and be careful with your math!

Although the Spring Term 2010 pictorial calendar is unfinished, I would like to announce the Key Dates for the term. As soon as the picture calendar is finished, I'll post it here. biggrin

March 1-12: Hogwarts Express (Going Home)
March 12-26: Regular Sorting
March 19-28: Hogwarts Express (Coming to HPGoG!)
March 26- April 4: Start of Term event
April 5: Classes begin
April 23- May 14: Early Sorting
June 4: Classes end
June 4-June 13: End of Term Event
June 13- June 20: Hogwarts Express (Going Home)

Classes for Spring Term 2010 begin almost a month from today.
Teacher Applications are now being accepted at the Hogwarts Staff Room.
Please read below before applying.

Last term quite a few people were unable to fulfill their teaching commitment which left a lot of students upset when they were very excited to take the class. If you are thinking about applying, we recommend (especially if you think you may become busier towards the end of term) that you plan your lessons in advance once you're approved. That way you won't have to worry about writing a new lesson when you have finals/mid-terms in real life.

Anyone who is approved to teach a class MUST post at least three lessons (subject to change) for the term. If less than three lessons are posted, a point deduction of at least 25 points will occur. However, we do believe in "extenuating circumstances". For instance if your parent bans you from logging on, you're extremely sick, etc. then we won't penalize you as long as you inform us via the Student Message Board.

Now that Winter term is over, I can announce the final standings in our house point competition!

Coming in 4th with 233 points, Hufflepuff!
In 3rd place with 274 points, Ravenclaw!
Striding in 2nd with 327 points we have Gryffindor!

And finally, with a whopping 536 points this term and winners of the house cup, I present...

Congratulations!

And another congratulations must go out to our winners of the Top Student Poster competition. A round of applause to Grey Gardens, Animekitty47, Lyra Elizabeth, and our tip top student poster of them all, DownAzzLette! Your winnings have been sent.

I hope you all enjoyed this term. The Hogwarts Express will make its return to Hogwarts on March 19th. See you then!

I've just put the finishing touches on our Trophy Room thread. Whenever you have time, stop on by and see the hard work of the last term. Congratulations to all those that have the spotlight!

As Lyra Elizabeth unwittingly revealed, the entire event was part of a hoax created by my dear Mod Squad and me.
We really hope you've enjoyed the festivities. It was all apart of our April Fool's Day joke. The joke was getting so good, I didn't want it to end!

To clarify a few things:
I am NOT leaving as Headmaster (I shall be around for many terms to come!)
All winners will receive their prizes no later than Friday.
Classes are beginning TODAY
You may all go back and post in your common rooms
(the house-elves should report back to the Kitchens)
Once again if you have any questions, stop by and ask them in the SFQ

Also, be on the lookout for an Entrance Hall announcement later this week about this event! Thank you all.

Here's a wake up call!
I hope you all haven't forgotten our beloved HPGoG. I'll admit that I've been absent for quite some time, but I'm back in full force and I expect the rest of you to be as well!

I'm happy that so many of you have become involved with classes, but remember that classes are not the only feature in our guild. I encourage you all to roleplay with fellow members, discuss various topics, and provide the Mods with feedback whenever you possibly can.
Another note, IceeWitch has made a Guild Poll that I encourage you to respond to. We really need your feedback so that we can continue to help the guild grow!

IceeWitch made a small announcement in the recent Hogwarts Monthly which got me thinking: Can we do it? We tried to do it before, but I'm not sure all the Houses amassed 1000 points.
Earn those house points, I'm eager for another amazing event!
