Hello!
This is where you can ask what the heck is going on in the crazy guild, as well as be able to put in your own input, be it negative or positive. Guild moderators as well as other members frequent this thread to make sure your questions get answered. From time to time you will also see moderators bring up discussions here for guild improvement; feel free to join in on the conversation! We love to hear ideas on how to make the guild better! Please use this thread because it's the primary way to get your voice heard in the guild!

I really like the idea of having another subform for organizational purpose's. I think it would help everyone in the long run. I aspecially like the idea of having a head elf, and ghosts, and having certain people taking care of different jobs would make things easier for the mods, I'd assume so anyways.

That's what I was hopeing for...

I'm also thinking of re-doing who dose and doesn't qualify for each year...
like makeing all who joined in 2004 are 4th years,
those who joined up to the end of April are 3rd years,
up to the end of July are 2nd years,
and up to the end of October are current 1st years...
because our numbers thin out as you look for older members...

I was thinking that maybe since I spend most of my time when I'm here taking care of my Survivor Game, maybe I could be "Game Master", or maybe you could consider me "Grounds Keeper" (Hagrid's Job) I could take care of the Spinner's End Subforum since you guys are thinking of splitting up tasks. Just an idea if you guys are interested. Im willing to help.

I'm thinking we should make a new Sub forum...
I want to call it something like "The Care Taker's Office" I don't know of any Hogwarts-ish name

In it, I think we should put:
  • "Filtches' Filing Cabinet"
    • The School Lists
      • a place to post newly accepted members
      • A Banned Member list
      • students can post if they've changed their name or plan to quit
      • the Heads can keep the lists up to date
      • Possible lists:
        • Elves
        • Houses
        • years
        • All Members w/join dates (<-it took me a while to get the old member's dates)
        • Those Eligible to be Sorted
        • Those in danger of being banned
        • ect, ect, ect
    • "The Staff Room" (moved from The School Corridors)
    • "The Great Hall Hour Glasses"
      • a place to keep track of points
      • mods will post whenever they've added new points
      • maybe teachers can post if they want to add/subtract points
    • an activity log thread (keeping post numbers from various dates)
    • A Suggestion Thread
    • A Question Thread
    • I'm sure I could think of a few more...


I know many of you don't like to have lots of threads
and think we could make most of these into on one thread...
but I think that it's important to keep these things separate...

PINKIE: All those suggestions sound really good. 3nodding I think we may could combine the Question Thread and the Suggestion Thread? I'm not sure if that would be good, or if it would be too much in one, but like I said, I like all of the other ideas. surprised 3nodding 3nodding

I also have ideas for the Member Roles and their duties...

    Mods:

  • House Head Duties:
    • Accept new members
      • posting them in the thread I suggested earlier
    • appoint new school Prefects
    • delete spam posts/thread
    • watch student activity
      • Each head for their own house
      • *first see Prefect duties*
        • ban inactive students who don't change ways...after PMed by prefects


    PINKIE: Yes, pretty much everything you guys have been doing, except appointing prefects, which we have yet to do... sweatdrop

  • Head Elf Duties:
    • Accept new members
      • posting them in the thread I suggested earlier
    • watch elf activity
      • keep a record of post #'s [check once a week, it takes about 10-15 minutes]
        • PM inactive members [no post in over three weeks]
      • keep the Eligible Sorted List up to date
    • maybe PM new members with welcomes


    PINKIE: Where do you get all of your ideas? Do you just, like, pull them out of a hat? surprised xd That sounds good as well. whee

    ?maybe mods?

  • Teacher Duties
    • create/manage a classroom thread
    • write lessons (preferably at least one a month)
    • give/grade homework for house points in a semi-timely fashion
    • keep personal class room points up to date
      (post total in suggested thread above from time to time)
      (Doesn't keep Students waiting longer than a week without word)
      (can add/subtract points outside of class as well, although heads can over-rule this)


    PINKIE: I think that the Head Elf, Boy, and Girl should all become mods, but I really don't think the teachers should. That would be an awful lot of mods.. sweatdrop

  • Head Boy/Girl's Duties
    • (if they have mod powers) keep suggested activity log thread
      • gets info from the 5 heads
    • keep track of absences for heads (through Hogsmeade Thread)
      • PM the head concerned for each absence
    • keep an eye on prefects
    • ?Host/Set-up Guild Events? *see "ghosts"*


    Non-Mods:

  • Prefect Duties:
    • Patrol Corridors/threads
      • PM Heads (or Head Boy/Girl if they're mods) for posts/threads to delete
    • PM new first years with welcome notes
    • answer new student's questions
      (maybe require them to also be Marauders)
    • Keep an eye on student activity (each for his/her own house)
      • keep record of post #'s (check once a week, it takes about 10-15 minutes)
        • PM inactive students warnings (no posts after 3 weeks)
      • Homework
        • PM students who don't do homework (no homework turned-in in over 3 weeks)
        • PM their head for those who neglect to respond to PM warnings
        • Reports all findings to head
      • report misconduct (may recommend to take away points)


  • ?Ghosts? ?Activity Directors?
    • Host/run/set-up Parties
    • Direct students in the right direction (maybe combined with Prefects this will make Marauders un-needed)
    • maybe run Spinner's End
      (probably those uninterested in classes)
      (The truly loyal members [must have been active in the guild for a while and mane x posts, maybe 1,000])


PINKIE: I don't really have anything against any of your other ideas.. they all sound great to me. This could make things a LOT more organized, and when people see the things certain members can do, they will want to become more active. 3nodding

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea to me. You spend a lot of time in that game forum. 3nodding I think something more like the Grounds Keeper, or something else HP related, instead of Game Master, just to make it all tie into the guild. 3nodding
