Jewlet looked at the knight that responded to her greeting. She waved back with force smile. 'Don't act so gloomy. When your out an about act at lest some what happy.' She had been told that many times and just lately it seemed to be more of an order then a 'Please Do'. She watch the knight closely. "Um..." She started but did not finish because he had made it around the pillar. A small sigh escaped from her mouth. Then she saw the lizardman. Is he part of the court? She looked at the creator and realized he seemed to be following the knight with the green hair. She shook her head lightly and went back to her task at hand. To tell the king the king the messege had been delivered. She was very quick to do, so. Once that matter was over with, she headed back to the ground level.

Finishing up his three Laps Grant stopped in the upper courtyard and caught his breath. As usual he ended up being a head of the group. He never understood why the group would fall behind by the end of the laps. Was it the fact that he had cat like stamina or was it just that the men didn't want to pass their commanding officer? It didn't matter much either way as long as everyone did their laps Grant was happy. Looking around for a general servant Grant wiped the sweat from his brow. Seeing one near the main entrance of the castle Grant waved the girl over. "Can you fetch me and my men a barrel or two of water?" He asked politely.

Jewlet exited the cloakroom and end up at the upper court yard. One more messege need to be delivered, but luckly it was just to the front gate. She walked past Grant with her eyes down. "Good day." She said in a light tone. She reached the stairs and started to go down them. Then she found herself in the way. She jumped off the side of the stair case and used her power to land gently on to the ground below. Once her feet were back on the ground, she straightend out her dress. As usual some people seemed shocked by her action, but it didn't bother her. She quickly made her way over to the front gate and began to talk to the gard. She bowed and bid the man a nice day. Now, she could have free time to do something she wanted to, but what?

Wile Grant was waiting for the barrels of water and his men he heard a familiar voice. Turning around he saw the back of Jewlet's head. "Good morrow fair maiden." He replied as he saw Jewlet heading for the stairs just as his solders ran up them. "You fools!" He yelled as he ran for the banister to see if Jewlet was ok. "Are you alright?" He called as he saw her walk for the guard tower. With a look of sheer anger Grant wiped around to face the troops. "Do none of you know any etiquette?" Grant smacked the first man in line in the back of the head. "When a lady is in the way don't plow through her! Go around!" Grant shouted furiously into the second mans ear. "All of you, ten more laps!" Grant turned and started heading to the guard tower.

Jewlet met up with Grant. "I am fine, Sir Grant." She answered his question from earlier. "Thank you very much for caring." She has all ways been very well mannered and it showed when she spoke, but she just wasn't very happy or lively. "How are your troops doing with their trainning?" She asked finguring this mite be better for her to do then sit in a cold room to think. She looked at the troops and they seemed to be mad. 'I have caused trouble.' She thought. "Do not go to hard on them because of their actions. They're just doing as told." She said what her mother would have said. "Plus, it does not bother me." She truned her eyes back to Grant.

"They were never told to trample women. Please accept my apologies." Grant bowed slightly. "I'm glad you are ok." Grant looked up at the men. "They'll be ok. Before you know it we'll have a strong fighting force to protect the castle and all who are in it.

Jewlet said. "Your apology is accepted. " She took a deep breath to relax her mind. A small smile crossed her face. "That is good to hear." She said as she looked down. She was completely out of words to say or question to ask. "Sir, Grant. I will leave you to do your job." She said bowing. "Fare thee well." She started to walk off, not quite sure what she could do next. Different ideas raced through her head, but none seemed to spark her intrest.

Gon was distracted like the elf recruit by woman in red clothes. Being a savage before attempting to become a civilized creature left him void of seeing much of anything fancy or even dresses. By Grant's orders it meant Gon would have to perform twenty laps since squires had to do twice as much as the knights. The encouragement of water was an extra boost for Gon since it reminded him of his homeland back in the swamps. The water here in the castle was cleaner and tasted better, but it wasn't what Gon called home water. Gon was ashamed to have to sore the eyes of anyone of royalty with his horrid appearance and did his best to avoid sight of anyone else.
All this training wasn't really to earn the title of Knight, but rather to just learn to be a civilized being. Gon was in the hopes of one day of having a personality that over shadowed his race and the stereotypes that came with it. These trails of thought lead to another trail; why was he even aloud to be in the castle? It was Gon's guess that his dedication was a good enough promise that he wouldn't kill anyone or wreck anything in the castle and that was probably the reason. Thoughts aside, Gon continued taking special care to jog and at well keep his distance from everyone.

Grant smiled as Jewlet walked off. Grant always had a soft spot in his heart for the opposite gender. Walking back up to the upper courtyard he noticed that the two recruits had finally caught up. "You there, Gon and Niro, come here for a moment." Grant moved over to the two barrels that had been brought. "Because you weren't with the group when the men practically trampled that lady I'm letting you off with a warning. As for the water, distribute it to the men as much as they need and then see me in my office." That being said Grant walked away with his hands resting on his back. He headed for the stables where he got Jenny, his Dutch draft hourse, saddles up and ready to ride before feeding her some oats. He then when to his office where he did what he always did. Try to take a nap.

"Yes sir."
Gon was pleased that Grant allowed him the honor of serving water since it would show that he meant only good towards the others. What displeased Gon was he had to help serve it with the elf and him being a new recruit would probably provoke questions about Gon. Since most people viewed Lizardmen as dirty, Gon needed to take extra care to not touch any of the water till everyone else got some water; Gon was actually quite clean, but stereotypes die hard.
Gon took the barrel on the left to serve and without speaking expected the elf named Niro to open the other barrel to serve it. Using his right claw, Gon opened the barrel's lid rather easily and placed it on the side of the barrel. One of the two recruits needed to go get cups and something to serve the drinks into the cups before water was to be served.

"Yes sir!" He said with a happy grin. Thankful that he didn't have to run twenty laps and wasn't the cause of this order. Niro looked over to the tall lizardman they called Gon. Wow, he's even taller then I thought. I bet he's one of the elits. Taking the barrel on the right, Niro began to open his. Though he didn't know how exactly. He usually got his from a well or a stream. He was about to ask Gon when he saw him take the lid off with is claws. "Wow, that must come in handy," Niro thought about what he said and place a hand on his head, "No pun intended." He chuckled a little, grinning from ear to ear. He extended his hand to shake. "Sorry about getting you knights in trouble like that. I didn't meant too, really I didn't. But um...I hope there's no ill weather between us."

Jewlet took a seat where there was shade. She began to think of her mother and the words she had said. 'Don't be so gloomy. I know it has been hard, but now it will get easier. And don't worry, dear, you'll find happiness.' She sighed knowing her mothers words had come true, well, except for the happiness part. That would be a little bit harder for her to gain, but at lest her mother was happy. Looking up to the sky, she studied the clouds. Every thing changed, but always seemed to be the same. She turned her thought to how to make herself, at lest some-what, happier. Not much came to mind as only her past filled her head. She put a strand of hair back in its place.

Gon was a little reluctant to trust the elf, but what could he possibly do to hurt Gon that the Knights haven't already tried. What was a bit odd for Gon was Niro thought he was a knight. Gon extended his right hand and carefully grasped Niro's left; speaking as he did so.
"For more things then you can possibly imagine. I'm Gon and you are mistaken, I'm no knight yet; just a squire, like yourself. You should worry about your mistakes; they are part of learning and if the others don't see that, they need to make mistakes."
Gon did his best to put only a little force into shaking Niro's hand. During all of his time here, Gon wasn't really sure he was accepted by anyone, even Grant. Since this elf seemed to be unaware of the types of savages Lizardmen were known to be, it seemed like a start to finally have someone get to know him instead of treating Gon like a monster. If Niro understood Gon's nature and the others began to respect Niro, it would circle to Gon finally being considered a civilized creature by everyone in the castle. Gon's race of course would still be known as a race of savages of course; to gain civilization for one creature is easy, for a whole race it's much harder.

Princess Amanae Rilynnrae stood quietly off to one side, while her brother's ambassadors exchanged heavily formalized pleasantries with the three Dakrimian councilors that had been sent to receive them. Inwardly, she fumed.
Most of her wrath was directed towards her own clothing. The dress she had been forced to wear for their arrival was beautiful, made all out of pale, gold silk that flowed and yet somehow managed to cling in all the right places. The color had been specifically chosen to highlight her pale hair and lightly tan skin-- extremely unusual coloring for an elf. Her long, white blonde hair had been done up in a sleek bun and pinned with tiny golden pearls. A slim gold circlet completed the ensemble.
Which would all be well enough, she thought angrily, If we hadn't been traveling. Because of the dress and its specially chosen cloth, she had been forbidden to ride her horse, and had been forced to ride in a liter instead. A liter! What was she, a princess or an invalid? Perhaps it amounts to the same thing, she told herself dryly.
"--And of course, her Highness will have the option of choosing whichever prince she feels would best suit her," one of the councilors said in his too-polite voice. Amanae forced herself back into the present and smiled graciously. The man bowed to her and then continued, once again addressing her guardians. "The betrothal will not, however..."
She allowed her attention to wander again. Oh, wonderful. She would be allowed to choose her husband from among the three princes. Joy of joys. The two main problems were, of course, that to the King, her eldest brother, there was only one choice--the soon to be King-- and to her, there was no choice at all. She didn't want to get married to anyone, at least, not anytime soon. She wasn't disinterested in the idea, exactly; she just wasn't ready. She might have been more willing to keep an open mind if this whole thing hadn't been an elaborate excuse to teach her a lesson and get her out of her brother's hair all in one go.
It was the loud clanking of metal that interrupted her thoughts this time, and she shifted a bit so that she could look out the window. In a large, elegant courtyard, a company of men was running laps, looking distinctly put-out. A small smile curled around the edges of her mouth as her eyes fell on a boy with green hair who was grinning and trying to shake the hand of... A lizardman? She blinked. Now that was something you didn't see every day.
