The Counting Game
Maria was sitting on the back of the couch, tail wrapped around her middle, a drawing book sitting on her lap, holding a pencil in her hand, twirling in her fingers, "One!"
Vorel nodded his head, tail flicking back and forth behind him, "Ir."
She nodded and wrote it down on the paper, "Two!"
"Jiil!" He told her.
She nodded, and lowered her hand to wrote it down on the paper and then motioned to him to do the next number, "Three!"
"Fogah." He said as he leaned over to watch the way that she was writing on the paper, head tilting to the side.
"Now... Four is?"
"Vrrar." Vorel said with a little nod of his head, seeming to be having fun with the game that they were playing.
Maria paused in her writing before she started to laugh hysterically, "Vrrar?" She asked, wanting to make sure that she had heard right.
"Vrrar." He agreed, nodding.
She couldn't help it as she started to giggle again but at least this time she was able to get the word down on the paper. Oh but she loved that word, it was now her new favorite! She looked up at him, "Alright, and now: Five!" She chirped at her large, blue friend.
"Jlatak." He told her with a toothy smile, tail swishing behind him as he was enjoying this game of learning greatly. He didn't in any way dislike being used as a help with this sort of work either. She was a nice girl, a smart girl, and she had come to him for help because Geia was currently napping.
"Jlatak." She said as she wrote it out as well. She held the paper up for him to see, it was a bit of a mess due to her not having the best writing in the world and it had been done in pink crayon but it was done, "Ir, Jiil, Fogah, Vrrar, Jlatak!" She said, going from one to five in Draconic for Vorel.
The dragon nodded his head, "Zi bensvelk." He said in a praising tone of voice.
Maria chewed on her lower lip, thinking over hard, "Zi... I am not sure.. but bensvelk, that is the word for 'good'?" She asked of him, going over the words she knew already.
Vorel gave a nod, "Benzvelk." He told her again.
Maria set her paper and crayon down before she moved forward to scale up onto his back and set to stroking his pretty mane, "Thank you for the help Vorel." She murmured, snuggling against his neck, nuzzling him. She rather liked that he was being so nice to her and helping her with learning some words in Draconic even if it was a simple counting game.

My Daddy is the Best DaddyBulletin BoardMaria was on her way to the Bulletin Board as quickly as her little feet would take her and Orpheus was following along after her with a bit of a smile on his lips. The girl was so excited over what she was hoping that they would find and he himself was curious as to what requests there would be jewelry wise for him to make. He blinked a couple times as he heard a delighted squealing sound from his daughter and moved a little faster to see what she'd found. As he rounded the corner he found her holding up two scales for him to see, one of them a beautiful silver color and the other a deep black. He reached down to pick up the fallen envelopes and the letters within as she seemed the most interested in the two new additions to her growing collection, "Oh, they are so pretty pretty!" She chirped, holding them near to each other. One of them was so sparkly, made her think of the dragon that she always saw in her dreams while the other one was super dark black and she turned to look at her father, "Is this a Black Dragon scale?" She thought that they were scary monsters, why would one share a scale? He shook his head as he read the letter, "That is from an Obsidian Lindorm." He explained to her, giving a smile as he finished reading the letters. Two scales but only one request, the other one seemed as though he were just donating because he could instead of asking for anything. He gave a bit of a smile before he tucked the letters away into his pocket, "Come on then, time to head back so you can put those safely with the others." She nodded rapidly, hugging them to her chest to keep them safe before reaching up to take hold of her Daddy's hand with her tail, "Your the best Daddy ever!" She chirped, smiling happily they went. Orpheus gave a happy sort of smile, "That is kind of you to say, thanks." He seemed quite touched by her words, he hoped to be the best parent he could be but being told something like that from time to time was nice too. It wasn't long before they were getting into his clunker of a car and heading back for home.

The form that had come in the mail along with the letter was pretty exciting, it meant that one day soon Maria was going to get the thing that she had been so excited to get for what felt like forever! She was going to get a dragon egg all her own, it would hatch into something beautiful and amazing, powerful and friendly just like Vorel and Baroness were! Her long, armored tail set to swishing behind her in a happy manner as she all but danced around Ligeia who said he would help her if she needed it when it came to filling in the form. He read over the letter and couldn't help but to smile as well. It felt so very... amazing, to look this letter over and to know that one day so very long ago he'd gotten a similar letter telling him that he would soon be able to go in and see Vorel's egg. It caused him to smile and turned to where Vorel was lounging in his part of the bedroom, an open area that was all his for lazing around in. He smiled then turned back to Maria, "Do you want to go and get your crayons so we can work on this?" She nodded rapidly before racing off to where her room was located, grabbing up her basket full of crayons, colored pencils, and markers, before turning on her heel to race back totally missing the growl she got from Baroness who was in no mood at the moment to deal with overly enthusiastic children. It was only a moment later before the basket of art supplies was dumped out on the floor and she was sitting down with Ligeia and Vorel while she filled out the simple questions with the best handwriting she could manage. First was her name, then her age, her favorite colors... of which there were two that won as favorite, and then the last thing which was her best friend. That was the most difficult question and she filled it out with the answer that came to mind first. Dragons! They were all her friends and she loved them all very much! She looked the last question over then squealed in delight as she set to work drawing herself, putting herself in her favorite outfit as well as put her favorite hat on, that being her Gwee hat, and then held it up for her brother to look over for her. The owl smiled as he looked it over, "Very good! You know I think you have better hand writing then Terpsichore does." He said, giving a smile as his sister laughed in a happy manner, "I will tell Dad that this came in the mail so he can fill out his part and we will send it back to them once hes done, agreed?" She nodded her head, "Agreed!" She chirped before she reached over to where the basket had been dumped out so she could get her drawing book and set to work drawing various drawings of dragons and eggs in an attempt to guess at what it was that she might get.

Taking Off
The wyvern, who had until this point been dealing with her increasingly foul mood by eating any animal dumb enough to let itself be seen, was sitting on 'her' deck, starring out over the grassy field. The tall field, that was just outside the line where there 'yard' was, was swaying the breeze, waving around looking almost like water. Tall, crunchy, brown water, but water none the less. It seemed to be beckoning her and she gave a rumbling growl as she headed down the steps. It was cold, far to cold for her liking, she would be inside soaking up the heat but she didn't feel like dealing with... well anything or anyone. Best to stay outside on 'her' deck instead of risking more arguments with the fools inside.
Bah! She didn't feel like dealing with anyone of them not even her own boy which was a different sort of feeling for her. Usually she could deal with at least him and more often then not the little brat that treated her and Vorel with the respect that dragons deserved... but she was certain that she would snap at Ter and eat the girl if she were inside and neither of those things would go over well nor would they get her any dinner... not that she felt like eating any of that pre-killed, frozen crap! No, she was enjoying her fresh kills, they tasted far better and were nice and warming to the stomach as well as helping to put her into a slightly better mood.
Maybe that was what was calling her to the field? It was rather thick, tall grass which meant that basically anything could be hiding out there just wanting for her to find it and eat it. Her tail swished behind her for a moment and she looked thoughtful, "I'll go out for a while, see what I can find, and eat it." She would be back after that. She hadn't even noticed that she had slipped into Draconic but it was fine, her preferred language. She only used the other one to human the idiots she lived with that couldn't understand her... of course that fluffy, white, she-male could understand her though, couldn't she-he?
Bah! Why couldn't her idiot boy do that? The stupid one that couldn't even decide upon a gender was able to learn the language to make life easier on Vorel but Ter couldn't do the same for her? Worthless, worthless creature! She should just take down Vorel and steal the more useful... her train of thought derailed, she gave an angry roar, and slammed her tail against the ground. There was no way in Hell she wanted that gender confused thing as her partner! Her horrible mood was getting worse and worse it would seem, to the point that her thoughts weren't making to terribly much sense now...
She was going to follow her instincts, go out into the field, and she was gong to kill... something! No matter what it was she would find it, kill it, eat it, and hope that it made her temperament return to her normal level of b***h instead of this level of super b***h that it had become. While she didn't mind being super she did mind not having any control over herself or her emotions... she just wanted to be happier, damn it!
As the hissing, snarling, roaring, and otherwise any beast headed away from the house and into the tall grassy field only one set of eyes seemed to be following her progress, likely because only one person in the house seemed to be paying much attention to her temper tantrums as they were certain it was just that. Standing in the window of her room was Maria, hugging her Gwee plushie which looking out at Baroness, "She seems to be more grumpy then normal Gwee... I think we should let her be though, maybe she just needs a walk to cool her head?" She asked, having heart Daddy tell Ter to do that often enough when he got argumentative. Go for a walk, cool your head, and when you come back we can talk Daddy always said. As such she would let Baroness go for a walk, cool her head, and when she came back they could talk!
"For now I think we should go watch a movie and wait." She told the stuffed dragon before she turned around and left her room at a quickened pace, whistling all the while.

One of Those Loud Meals
Terpsichore was in a mood that was foul enough that it could easily hold its own against Baroness's temper Maria thought to herself, sitting next to Ligeia at the table, watching as the snake ate in a slow, deliberate manner, stabbing each piece of food as though it had done something to seriously offend him. Her ear gave a little twitch before she scooped up a bite of her mean, with her spoon then licked it off that spoon with her tongue, "Your grumpy too, Ter." She told him.
"Whatever, mind your business brat." He hissed, flicking his forked tongue out at the little pangolin before he stabbed another piece of his steak.
Ligeia looked over at Ter for a long moment before his wings gave a twitch, "Don't call her that, just because you in a bad mood doesn't mean you can take it out on a little kid." The owl said, giving his younger but larger and more aggressive brother a long look. It was clear that while he was unamused by what Ter was doing and saying that he wasn't going to let his temper get the best of him... unlike the cobra who seemed to be nothing but testy the passed few days.
The cobra turned his stare to the owl and gave him a long glare, "Why don't you just shut up Ligeia, your not her mother! your not even a chick as much as you wish that you were!" He spat out, hands slamming down on the table, hood opening up, "As much as pretend otherwise your her goddamn brother! So why don't you starting acting like one you queer little..."
"That is enough! All of you!" Orpheus said, raising his voice in a manner that wasn't something he did to often but it would seem as though it were time for him to do so, "Ligeia stop trying to do my job for me, its alright I promise I can handle it, Maria don't bother Ter when hes in a bad mood it just makes it worse, and damn it Ter! You will not talk to either of your siblings like that again! I know your upset because Baroness is still missing but that is no reason to take it out on them. She was in a bad mood and is likely out stretching her wings somewhere taking care of whatever it is that is bothering her."
There was silence around the table before Maria looked from person to person to person, "Ahh... I think that Baroness just wanted a walk to clear her head. I saw her when she went out into the field, its really big out there so maybe she got lost?" She suggested in a helpful manner before she started to again.
Three sets of eyes turned to look over at Maria, all wide with disbelief, "Wait... what?" Orpheus asked first.
"You knew where she went?" Ter asked next, leaning over to catch hold of her hand in between bites, "When did you see her? And in what direction did she go? Was she alright?" He asked in a rush, hating that the one he'd told to mind her business was the one that apparently knew where his wyvern had gone.
She looked up at him, spoon hanging off her nose, "Yep! She left a couple days ago, looked like she needed to walk to cool her head like you always do Teri! So she went out for a walk in the field... I'd of ashed when she was coming home but she was roaring and yelling in Draconic so I left her be." She told him, all while keeping the utensil balanced there.
"Alright, but where? Where in the field its huge!" Even just walking she could make it quite a distances in a couple of days and he wasn't even sure what time she'd set out... and it was dark now so even if they headed out it was unlikely they would spot her so that meant letter her stay out another night until the sun came up and he could organize a search.
Maria took her spoon off her nose and pointed, "That way! She seemed to be heading away from town. Which is odd... that is where she had been going lately to get food." She said, head tilting to one side as she seemed to be trying to appear as though she were thinking deeply on the reasoning behind why Baroness went in a new direction, "Maybe she was bored with town food."
"Huh... yeah, maybe." He murmured, slouching in his seat and seemed to go off into his own world as he tried to remember if anything interesting was off in the direction she'd gone but he couldn't really think of anything aside from a lot of acres of grassy fields that way. Maybe she was trying to hunt something bigger then dogs? Deer perhaps? It could be, "I will wait until noon, if she isn't back by then I am gonna borrow Vorel and find her." He told Ligeia, not even bothering to ask.
The owl just gave him a long look, wondering if Vorel would agree so easily to help Ter out as hard a time as the snake was always giving to Ligeia... and more so as grouchy and snappish as Baroness had been Vorel lately. He supposed they would just have to see come noon tomorrow...

Maria's... Dragon?
It had been a while since she'd had this dream Maria thought to herself as she walked through the foggy expanse of the area surrounding where the large, though beautiful, dragon was laying down awaiting her. Tamara was a Silver Dragon but Maria could never figure out why it was that she had the glowing golden eyes, from all she'd learned about Silver Dragons by making Li read the dragon books to her they were silver from head to toe, that included their eyes. She'd never told anyone why she was so interested in that particular breed but she was, it was why she was so happy that the pair named Valens and Ellie had been so kind as to donate a silver scale when she was looking for them. From what she gathered being able to have a Silver Dragon was no longer possible though it made her wonder why she always dreamed of this particular dragon if she wasn't supposed to have it... then again she was pretty sure that, since everyone's dragons started out as eggs, that she wasn't supposed to have Tamara anyway since she looked full grown.
"I'm glad that we get to meet again." Maria said, walking forward and feeling as though she were caught up in the comfortable warmth of the dragon, an aura that was warm like the sun and so comfortable, as though she were being hugged close by a mother figure... not that she had one. The closest she could compare to that was being held by Li though she knew that he was a boy. Regardless though she was happy to find herself before Tamara again, "I missed you, you don't visit me as much as you used to."
The large dragoness shifted slightly and starred at Maria with those brilliant golden eyes that she possessed, her silence speaking volumes that only the pangolin girl could hear. Her little ears twitched for a moment, tail swishing, then she nodded, "Yeah, I understand that I have a family now and I do love them." She agreed, her family was wonderful even if her older brothers were prone to arguments from time to time. She was used to that and was pretty certain that it was something that went along with being a teenager, something that made her look forward to staying young for a little while longer, "Still I do miss your visits."
There was what almost appeared to be a smile on the dragon's features before there was a flickering of energy both golden like the sun and silver like her scales before she stood before the young Pangolin in a human form much like what the Silver Dragons did using the spell 'Polymorph Self' something that Maria hadn't seen before this very moment. She was clearly in awe if the look on her face was any indication, "Wow! You are so amazing, Tamara!" She cried, clapping her hands together. The woman smiled, settling down, hands smoothing over her long dress before motioning Maria closer to her, holding her hands out for he to take. Maria did so without hesitation, "Huh...?" Their eyes met and Maria's purple eyes went rather wide as the dragoness spoke to her once more.
"W-What..?" She was told that there was information that she should know, something that Tamara wasn't sure about sharing because she didn't do well with the dragons who were of the Chaotic Neutral variety, that was something that fell to her brothers to deal with... but at the same time something that meant a great deal to Tamara was family... if Maria took the information she would find herself on a rather strange path, one that would likely change things that were already planned for her, "Please tell me!"
The dragoness in human form gave a smile before nodding her head before she started to speak once more, giving the information that she had been a little leery to give to someone Maria's age but since the girl was a good girl, a smart girl, loyal and strong she thought that if she was going to tell anyone it should be one like her...

Something Borrowed, Something Blue
Maria's lavender eyes came open slowly and she found herself starring at her bright painted wall next to her bed and she blinked a couple times as her young mind tried to process what the dream had told her. It wasn't something she would normally do since she wasn't one that liked to go... well anywhere on her own. She much preferred to curl up with one of her brothers, her Daddy, or one of the dragons and draw, look through her dragon books, or watch her Gwee movies but today it would seem wasn't going to be a normal day. Crawling out of the bed she walked over to look out the window seeing that it was morning, the sun was up but it wasn't so late that she thought that everyone would already be away.
The light was bright but she knew that it was getting colder out, the grass around the house was brown, the leaves were falling from the trees. It was cold... and it wasn't safe for them to be outside she was told. Maria toddled across her room to where her dresser was located and she set to changing what she was wearing, out of her bright pink nightgown and into a sweater and sweat pants combo that were both the same color of blue. A pair of miss-matched on purpose socks, her shoes, and coat were all pulled on. From there she walked to the little table that held all of her most important things. She pulled on her necklace that had five different colored dragon scales on it, her flight goggles, and her Gwee hat, "Alright, Maria is ready... now she needs a ride." She murmured, slipping out of her room silently or at least as silently as someone her age could sneak that was. She was no Ter but she was getting better at it. After all if one wanted to sneak a snack they had to be pretty light footed.
She knew where it was that she had to go first, she had to go to Li's room and borrow Vorel. After all she doubted that she could get where she needed to go on her own two feet since she was far to small and it was far to cold outside, "Cold... huh." She paused in the living room, glancing toward the couch and couldn't help but to giggle at the sight she saw before. Her Daddy was laying sprawled out on the couch, snoring away, glasses still on, an empty coffee cup still in his hand. She looked at the blanket that he'd kicked off at some point... slipped over to him, looking him over, then picked up the blanket off the floor. It was cold out and she would need a blanket she thought to herself as she wrapped it around her shoulders and kept going, leaving her father where he was laying. She would come back for him she thought to herself as she continued along to where she had been going before realizing that she needed the blanket that she now had draped around her shoulders.
One little hand lifted to take hold of the door knob to her brother's room, turning it, and he peeked inside. Vorel was laying down in the sitting area of the room, a large open space that belonged to the Frost Dragon and passed him, farther into the room was Ligeia curled up on his bed in a nest of blankets, "Pst... Vorel... Psssst!"
The dragon gave a little jump, turned his head to look toward the door, then gave a wide yawn as he starred at the pangolin girl who was standing there trying to get his attention. His large eyes starred for a long moment before blinking.
"Vorel...Confn! Wiilirk ve!" She whispered in hushed Draconic.
The large dragon blinked a couple of times before he pushed up to his feet and trotted over to the door, finding himself wondering why it was that Maria was calling for him... but more importantly why was she dressed like that? Were they going outside? OH! They were going to go and play outside! His tail set to swishing behind him as he slipped out of the door to the room, looking over toward where Ligeia was sleeping, "Svabol zahae, Ligeia?" He asked of her, head tilting to one side.
Maria looked at her brother then closed the door behind him, "Jaci ui vdri, Vorel. Confin." She said, motioning a hand at him before she headed to the backdoor that would take them outside. The explanation seemed to be more then enough of one for Vorel as he trotted along behind him. When they were outside she gave a smile, switching over to english once more since they were outside and didn't have to risk her Daddy hearing her talk, "We have to fly somewhere, Vorel. Its not... to far I don't think but I know the way. We have to hurry though cause its cold, can you do that?"
Vorel looked at her for a long moment, the little girl seemed rather serious didn't she? He looked over his shoulder back at the house and seemed more then a little uncertain of himself. He felt as though he should get Ligeia, they shouldn't be leaving home without him... Vorel so rarely did anything without his owl so the idea of leaving home without him and instead with Maria on his back felt very odd to him. He shifted in place before he gave a slow nod as he followed her outside and hopped off the deck, landing next to it and waited for her since she could easily crawl off of the railing and onto his back. He turned his head toward the double glass doors that led from the outside to Ligeia's room and after a moment of thought he drew in a deep breath... then spat out a mouthful of ice at the door letting it clattering against the glass before he took off carrying Maria and the blanket in the direction that he was instructed to go into.
Inside the room Ligeia came away as he heard the strange sound against his window. He looked over toward the door that was splattered in ice and then to where Vorel should be sleeping but wasn't. His eyes went wide before he jumped out of bed and hurried to the glass doors, looking out of them and saw him, and Maria, heading toward places unknown. His eyes went rather wide before he was scrambling toward the door. The fact that he had a good tolerance for cold helped as that meant even in the tank top and shorts he slept in he was just fine to just leave straight away instead of needing to pull on warm clothes. The moment he was outside and the door was slamming closed behind him he was already up in the air and flying along after the pair that were escaping toward parts unknown...

Lost and Found
It was the first time that she had gone on such a long ride on her own and she was pretty certain that if she were to do this anytime but a time as important as this one that she would end up in a lot of trouble... though there was nothing to say that she didn't face being grounded when she got home from this little adventure, "Do you see anything yet, Vorel?" She called to the Frost Dragon who would likely be able to see better then she could from this high up. She was squinting through her flight goggles but she saw... nothing at the moment. Where were they? She knew that it was in tis direction because this was where Tamara told her to go if she wanted to meet an alternate destiny... she refused to believe for even a moment that it might have just been a dream, not when she had so many dreams about the same dragon again and again. No, the beautiful Silver dragoness was real and Maria would believe every word that she spoke!
Vorel was starring down at the ground, trying to spot something that might be out of order... what was it exactly that Maria was looking? Something important if her tone of voice had anything to do with it. She was seeking something out and... his blue eyes went wide before he turned his head to look at her, "Found it, hold on." He said, tilting one wing so that they could go into a slow, spiraling circle that would bring them down toward the ground where the mess of ripped up ground was located. It looked as though someone very pissed off and large had been here at some post... the area was very cold and the scents faint making it seem as though it had been a couple days. He knew that scent thought, "Baroness." He told Maria, looking over his back at the girl.
The blond pangolin nodded her head before climbing off of Vorel's back, looking around the are and found herself a little uncertain. Where... where... was it? She was supposed to find something important here, wasn't she? She looked from side to side before starting forward through the area of torn up earth before gave squeak, tumbling forward and landed on her face into the dirt, "Ow..." She was glad she was still wearing her goggles, it kept all the dirt from getting into her eyes she thought to herself as she sat up, looking over her shoulder to see what she'd fallen on, "Rocks..." She turned around so that she could face the rocks that had taken her down before her eyes went wide. Wait, wait not... those weren't rocks! The girl crawled forward, digging away at the dirt that was kicked in a haphazard manner over the items to cover them. It wasn't to protect anything, it was to bury them, to hide them, so nobody would know about them... the items were cold to the touch, some were broken as though they might have been kicked or stomped on in the effort to bury them, it was obvious whoever buried them wanted nothing to do with them.
She crawled closer, resting her hand on the ones that were still whole... of the group there were only four unbroken... and she couldn't really tell if there was anything to them. They were so cold to the touch... one of them she dismissed as being a lost cause when her hand brushed over another and she could almost feel it, a small flutter of life inside. She blinked then motioned to Vorel, "Blanket, Vorel." She said.
He nodded, trotting over and tossed it to her. A few moments later the three that seemed to have even the slightest chance, two a whole lot weaker then the rest, were wrapped up in the blanket she had brought with them, the corners were tied, and then she starred at the package, "What... what next?" She asked, looking up at the Frost dragon for help.
Vorel seemed just as confused as he nudged against the bundle before he turned his head to look toward a certain direction, tail twitching, then he looked at her, "Peri! Peri is a dragon teacher!" He said in a rush, reaching out to grab the bundle in his teeth then lowered himself down so that Maria could get up on his back. She crawled up onto him and a moment later they were taking off, this time heading for D-Corp's main building where they hoped to find the Dragon Teacher... and still trailing along behind, still uncertain about what was going on, was poor Ligeia who was having a hard time keeping up with his partner who was moving faster then he'd ever seen carrying... something in his mouth and Maria on his back.
