Book one will always be on of my favorites, though I must say that currently Pale Fallen Angel (all parts) is at the top of my list. Though I can't wait until I go to buy book 13. Hopefully, it will be in stock.

MidoriNoYume Of all the books I've read I would have to say the first one is my favorite. It was so interesting to see the original nad compare it to the movie. That and I honestly can't decide, so I'll simply go with the first one. blaugh This still holds true but I just finished volume 13 Twin-Shadowed Night... well let's just say that volume 1 has some serious competition for the top spot. Yeah, it's that good. heart

My favourite novel would have to be the first one. I really enjoyed how the first novel was very similar to Bram Stoker's Dracula-- Doris being the young maiden who has been preyed upon the Count, Magnus Lee, then you have the Fiend Corps and Rei-Gensei as well as the angry town/mob, and the only people who care are Doris's brother, Dan, the sheriff and the doctor (when he was still human).
I found that D showed more of his struggle in the first novel than in the others that I have read. In the movie as well, you could tell that his struggle between his human side and his vampire side was less dormant than in the second film. And because Doris Lang is one of my favourite female heroines.
I also enjoyed Mysterious Journey to the North Sea-- I could hardly put the books down and I finished both of them in one day. I read religiously-- I prefer to have a book with me than to have a computer and access to the internet.

For the longest time I liked the second book best because it revealed a nice amount about how D's morals work and about vampire society (Am I the only one completely fascinated by H.K.'s vision of vampire society?). However, later on there was a two parter that I can't remember the name of that I loved. It might have been Journey to the North Sea. The ocean was certainly a big part of it.
