Let's see....
Middle school:
flutes- one band fanatic (one of my best friends!), 2 veterans who dont like band much (and they will burn in hell), and one n00b who is stupid and thinks she's smart, thinks she's funny, and thinks she's good at flute.
(The one who is a band fanatic is the best woodwind)
Total: 1
clarinets- one cheerleader who couldn't care less, but she's first chair so she wants to stay in so she has authority, one who is really good and loves band, and one who is really bad who likes band a lot
Total: 2
saxophones- one who's kind of good (not a fanatic, and he's just plain weird), one who sucks (he is a band fanatic), and one whos really good (she is not a band fanatic).
Total: 1
French Horns- there's only two one new, but she's really nice and really likes band already, and one veteran who's amazingly good, she's definitely the best regular brass player.
Total: 2
Percussion:
One who's really good and a band fanatic, one who's kind of good and a band fanatic, one who's as good as his brother (who was the best snare drummer ever) at tenors than he was at snare, and just about evrything else, too, but he really stands out at timpani, which he is pretty much a god at (he's a band fanatic too). Then theres one who sucks real bad at everything because his hair is so long that he can't see the BD/drum major and he doesn't care. Then a noob, the bad one's cousin, who acts just like him. Great.

Low brass:
Theres me, and I know I'm good, and I would say I'm the best low brass player and second-best brass player (just stating facts), then my second chair, who thinks he's amazing, but he doesnt play loud and his tone is terrible and doesnt know his slide positions, and he thinks he's so good, but when I'm drum major, and he's running low brass, he'll see.
Trust me.
Then theres a new baritone player who is a know-it-all and today I had to teach him (I got a sticker for it) but he doesnt know how to hold a baritone, and he thinks he knows everything so right after he got B-flat right (a lot of puffing his cheeks out and apparently he thinks the more spit you put in the horn the better you'll be.) he immediately said "ok, C-sharp then." and I was like "Oh hell no, b***h!" so he pretty much ran the teaching. BUt he doesnt like band because he doesn't like me much anymore.
But like he told me what we were gonna do like "Let's try with mouthpieces only now" and I had to be like "Fine..." but inside I was like "b***h!"

Trumpets- theres 5 of them, one who sucks but he's a band fanatic, one who sucks and hates band because he doesnt have popularity here like he does anywhere else (just because he blows all the big guys, and he's their a**-raping toy ), one who's new but likes band, one who's new that doesn't like band that much, and one who's goth so we dont know.

it isnt a section really but the following are probably the biggest band nerds:
the first 3 clairnets (out of like 12!)
the 2 alto saxs (me!!!) (out of 2)
the first 2 trumpets (out of 9 the rest are all football jerks)
(sadly this is also most of the only people who care. but that changes sept. 3rd!! yay for wind ensemble!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Save about, oh, four people (not including percussion), our band is entirely nerds. We all hang together and spend a lot of time in the band room. So, it just comes down to the biggest section, the clarinets. But we're all pretty nerdy (I don't count people who are not band people [as in, contributors and hard workers] to be part of the band. They get shunned), so it evens out. 3nodding
I wish our percussion were more like the rest of the band... I'd like to have had a conversation with one of them that was actually about band, and how much we love it... neutral
And then there was this one trumpet player I'd like to have strangled, along with two clarinets... stare I hate people who are part of our small band who don't contribute, because they drag everyone else into the dirt.

Veritas, the dragon of Amethyetical... Beijing Olympic Orchestra, Green Hub.Well... I think I'm the nerdiest person in the entire band. It was quite funny. Today, our BD asked what the octuplet was in 3 time, and everyone looked to me... although I was over near the timpani, and everyone looked at the xylophone where I normally am xP.
And yes, GO BAND GO! xP I'm also the biggest band nerd. No-one else is really committed. GO DRUMLINE!!! ^^ Check out the Beijing Olympic Orchestra 2008 Forum!

Me.
Ok my schools band is kind of weird, It has a piano and chior and then violins, trumpets, french horns, and whatever other instruments they can pull in.
all of my school's band hates band, I loved band, or at least playing and learning.
I'm not in band anymore because they found a 'better' pianist crying now I'm in a rock band and sit there yelling at the school band, not even listening to them and have chopin or batoven[spelling] in my ear,[I LOVE MY IPOD!] just watching to see if the pianists fingaring is off or if someone plays out of place.
If I had to pick a section from the present band, the violins are. They never miss a note, never play a wrong note, they are like robots, and they tell the band when to start and end... they scare me

i'd say the clarinets... probably bcuz we have a lot of proples in our section....
and maybe also cuz im in the clarinets ^^ and the flutes are pretty noisy too but its all fun xd xp

The biggest band nerds in my band would be the flutes and the drums there pretty much tied . ( I play the flute ;O)

But I'm a band nerd too...
I'm like, super quiet unless spoken to (I'm a percussionist by the way) and I've done some demos for the percussion section

I think the trombones are the biggest nerds... but they're strange so they're the exception. Flutes are pretty decent, though I think the Tuba section wins (Kashmir and Call Me are amusing when they're playing)

Our band isn't overly band nerdy. We have maybe 5 who are, but I'm definately the biggest one lol

In our band I'd have to say that pretty much all of the lower brass players are the biggest band nerds. tubas, trombones, baritones, pretty much every single person in that section. its odd. but im in percussion and its awesome. we really only have one nerd in that section.
