"Hi again yourself," he answered as he lifted her shirt and blew a rasberry on her stomach! "I caught you!" Still laughing, he propped the little one on his shoulders and carried her back to the main room and bar. Still no soul about. He didn't mind that much. but things would have been dull without Hotaru and would be worse if she left.
"So are you thirsty little one?"

"Yaaa!" Hotaru kicked her feet a little and giggled. She leaned on his head a little and smiled. "I want orange juice Tao Tao." she replied happily then looked around at the empty room. "Ne, where is everyone?" she asked. There should be at least one person other than them.

"Hmmm..." he placed her down on a barstool as he made his way behind the bar and toward the fridge, pulling out a carton of orange juice. Although he would have preferred to give her a tumbler, he only found a short glass. Hopefully her tiny hands could grip it securely enough.
"I think they're probably all training right about now. They usually come out at night if at all. In the day they have their own lives to live."

Hotaru was rocking the stool back and forth a little as he got her juice. “Oh. How come you’re here? Are you bored or something?” she asked then stopped rocking the stool so it wouldn’t tip over. "Or are you gonna train too?"

"I dunno," he confessed as he poured himself a drink as well before returning the carton to the fridge. "I'm not really bored or anything. I was just stopping by, but then I saw you, so I decided to stay." He tilted the rim of the glass to his lips and allowed the liquid to slide down his throat lazily.
"I'm always training so it's nice to take a break sometimes. No one can possibly train forever no matter how important it is. That's why we have to keep getting stronger before something bad happens."

"Hmm.." Hotaru reached out and took the glass, using both hands instead of one so she wouldn't drop it. She drank a small amount then sighed. "This is really good. Tao Tao. I'm probably going to go on a misson soon so wish me luck okay?" she smiled at him, clearly ecited about her first mission.

"Soon you say? Well then good luck to you little one!" With a smile he leaned forward and pulled her head toward his to kiss her on the top of the head. "Be sure not to let your guard down no matter what okay?"
To his knowledge, C and D rank missions were never dangerous. Except for a feral cat, chances were nothing would actually harm her. They were basically further training for B and A rank missions. She'd probably never see an S rank mission unless she became a jounin.

Hotaru nodded. "Hai! I'm going to try really hard. I don't want the other ninja to think I'm weak cause I'm six." Hotaru was a bit more self aware then most kids, probably because she only had adult friends that she talked to alot.

Keno laughed lightly at the young one's self consciousness. Yes youth did have a stigma of weakness, especially in the company of older, more seasoned warriors, but she didn't have it so bad. Keno had to deal with immortals and millenia old veterans.
"It's a little scary I guess, but don't be afraid to be a six year old girl. Just do what you do best and don't worry about anyone else okay? You'll do just fine. You might even do better." It was his understanding that the elasticity of a child's brain enabled them to adapt to many things much more easily than people several times older than them. The fact that she was a genin at six may enable her to actually maintain an edge over her peers as she would be potentially able to grow faster.

Hotaru nodded. "Hai!" She smiled then drank some more of her juice. "Hey Tao Tao. When did you start fighting and stuff?" she asked.

"Hm?" That was a relatively new question he didn't often hear. Most people didn't care. It wasn't important because the amount of time spent fighting meant nothing really.
"Well I believe I was five when my first teacher came along. He was a rough teacher and it was a lot of hard work. I'd like to think I carry his legacy well, but truth be told I'm probably a lot softer now than had he kept training me."

"Really? So you were about my age then." Hotaru observed then finished her juice and set the glass on the counter. "Well I like the you the way you are now. You're cool." she said with a smile.

"I like me now too. Of course when you're my age I'm still gonna look like this and you're gonna be ready to be a mommy!" He teased. "And mommies are a lot cooler than any guys no matter what!" He ruffled her hair as he finished his drink and placed their glasses in the sink, rinsing each one out. As he walked around the bar, he picked the little one up yet again and headed for the door.
"So tell me little firefly, where should I take you? I have to get back to work so I should take you to be some other friends."

"Awww." Hotaru pouted a little. She was having fun talking with him too. "Um, well I guess you can take me back to Konoha. I was suppose to meet the kohage today anyway." she replied while leaning against him.
