Is it possible for home world's to have exported ancestors of modern animals to Earth in the silver millenium, that then evolve on Earth, and if so, would they count for homeworld related rituals for modern senshi?
Foe example, if past-life Sailor Munchies exported a type of wildcat in the past, called say the Coogee, and it survived on Earth and became a cougar. Could modern Sailor Munchies then, as part of completing a transcendence ritual, seek and sight a cougar before returning to their homeworld to record it count as 'spy and depict a cougee"? Or are Earth species merely unique to earth? If so would an animal from another world resembling the cougar be a different species of cougar entirely?
Basically, are there any earth critters that evolve from homeworld races or are all of them purely native to Earth?
It is possible that animals could look similar but it is not possible for these animals to be related. Earth has clear evidence of its creature's evolutionary patterns dating back far more than a thousand years ago and thus past the canon story of the shop. While planets might have traded resources, it should not be said that Earth was responsible for exporting large quantities of creatures to other worlds or that they had alien animals imported, sorry!
While we do allow Senshi to have animal spheres, it should not be assumed that these animals came from Earth. These are simply evolutionary similar creatures that developed both on Earth and (most likely) the homeworld of the Senshi who represents that sphere.

I have been around for a while and sometimes I think I recall something that I'm not sure is in effect or used to be a thing and isn't anymore. That being said, my question is;
Once upon a time, when senshi corrupted from WM to Negaverse, their magic had to be re-written and were supposed to be inverses/dark version of what they originally were (because they were corrupted) or a more destructive. Is that still a thing?
For example; I believe that Alkaid's WM senshi magic was a ball of light that could "guide someone" and now her basic/super magic is a ball of light that forces someone of weaker will/level to follow it regardless. (A long time ago it forced Labyrinthite to walk off a cliff).
I could be remembering incorrectly, but I've been curious!
This is still in effect, however is optional! Some players have expressed difficulty translating their magic into a 'dark' version as it may not have been useful or logical if inverted. When a player corrupts their white moon senshi into the Negaverse, they are welcome to either keep their original white moon magic or revise it.

when a knight gets corrupted into the negaverse, is there any carryover from their previous uniform?
Carryover of similar design is common when a Knight corrupts and would be allowed as long as they still fit into the uniform guidelines of the Negaverse and could not be misconstrued as a Knight.

Following Ivy's question regarding corrupted cats and their ability to assist in the upgrades.
How does that effect the DMC and their ability to upgrade. They're still a chaos-based faction, would a DMC royal have to be there to assist with the upgrade or do DMC upgrade with just a cat like WM?
Guardian cats can upgrade Dark Mirror Senshi (DMC Royals have no ability to upgrade them), however the Dark Mirror Senshi will not actually reach their next stage or have access to their new power until they step through a mirror. The cat can unlock the power for them, as well as upgrade their pen, but because their power is also linked to Mirrorspace they must also pass through Mirrorspace to complete the process

What is the process for a cat to bond to a Senshi? And assuming this is a brand new cat with no past life, would they instinctively know how to do so or would it be something they would have to learn from a more experienced cat?
It is instinctive! Cats do not need to be taught how to bond; they will simply feel a connection with the starseed and can make a bond through that.

if a character transcends within the same stage and the owner gets alt art, is the alt art still subject to the 10% rule or is there more leeway in design alterations (like with stage ups within the same faction)?
i ask because the transcendence thread states that the transcendence lines are included in the 10% rule, which would effectively take up the whole 10%. are any minor alterations therefore required to be submitted with transcendence plots?
Transcending is only naturally guaranteed to allow the inclusion of the lines on the art; for additional changes, the player would only need to include the desired changes to the outfit along with their Transcendence plots as well as an explanation for the changes!
We allow the art to change up to 10% without needing staff approval; we are very open minded to plots that would allow the uniform to change but just want to make sure that the changes are cleared before appearing on any art!
A Transcendence plot is a good example of a plot that would allow a uniform to change, so if you want to Transcend your character and alter their uniform, please just let us know what changes you would like to see after they Transcend!

Since youmaglia-infested agents are weak to magic, does this include Knight aspects? Also, does dusting a youmaglia (via tiara magic) cause memories of its' introduction to be returned to the agent, or does it prevent the memories from forming in the first place?
Knight Aspects might gradually weaken youmaglia but it is typically a magical attack that will destroy them. Frequent exposure to aspects or passive magic might be able to destroy them, however this would be less effective than a full on magical attack. Youmaglia can be destroyed/removed from their host with any magic, not just tiara magic. The player has some degree of control for if they would like the memories to return or not. Youmaglia have the ability to somewhat muddle thoughts or the thought processes that would reflect negatively on Metallia or the Negaverse. The information thread on Youmaglia states, "Knowledge concerning youmaglia is often hidden from the host - the implanting event enacts great trauma on the mind that often leaves the host entirely unaware of what transpired. There is a possibility for the host to remember fragmented feelings or flashes of recollection, but any attempts at further remembrance is promptly quashed by the youmaglia." Once the youmaglia is removed, it would be possible for the character to either remember what transpired or say that the memories have been permanently muddled--it depends on what direction the player wants to take with it!

How long has the rule been in place that if there is a family with a common surname, players must get permission to use the surname if they're not a relation been in place?
Can this be added to the quest forum?This rule has been in place for quite a while! While we admit that we have made mistakes and missed some last names that were already in play, this information has been publicly available since at least last year. When the meta concluded, we updated a large number of our information thread. The questing handbook has a post regarding questing for civilian characters that states, "We typically do not allow the same last names to overlap unless the characters are related or you have player permission!" so if you were searching for the word 'surname' this might have been missed! We apologize for any confusion!

Are all negaverse agents descendants/reincarnated knights or is it possible to have a nega who does not have a past life at all and is just a plain ol civilian?
If so, what happens to them if they chose to purify? Is it possible for them to step into the role of what is technically a missing knight/wonder?
Not all Negaverse agents are descendants or reincarnated knights. It is completely possible (and very likely) that many agents of the Negaverse are actually just ordinary civilians who would have otherwise never had any powered life.
There is not a widespread ability to determine if a Negaverse Agent had a powered past life/ancestor, though; some personal items might be able to infer this but generally the only way to know is if the Agent purifies.
While these civilians can be purified out of the Negaverse, they will return to being just a civilian. Players who wish to purify one of these characters will need to be aware that this means their character cannot presently power up into a new Knight or Senshi. As a civilian, these characters may have some heightened senses (not unlike the survivors of Barren Pines). They would get a new civilian glamour to protect themselves from the Negaverse, and they may suffer limited memory loss. They could be recorrupted into the Negaverse at some point in time, but it might come with repercussions.
If someone wishes to pursue this plot, we encourage them to PM the mule for more information!

will there ever be a way for DMS to corrupt directly into the Negaverse, or for Negaverse senshi to corrupt directly into the DMC? if not, what is the ic reason that these two cannot directly exchange? the ooc reason?
While we can’t predict what the future holds or if there will ever be a method to allow this, it presently is not a direction we plan to explore. ICly, while both are chaotic Senshi, their power sources from very different people. Corrupted Senshi are attuned with Metallia’s Chaos and DMC are attuned with Mirrorspace’s; this Chaos is similar but different. You cannot corrupt someone ‘more’ by using a different Chaos.
In the case of DMC, a Mirrorcoating covers their starseeds and prevents them from sideswapping; to purify, they must acquire their replicated starseed (MirrorSeal) out of Mirrorspace and stop the flow of chaos. The link between their starseed and Mirrorspace will then be broken and the Mirrorcoating will dissipate, returning them to their true state. The Negaverse does not have the ability to destroy the Chaos in the MirrorSeal and so cannot break the bond to Mirrorspace. Similarly, when a Senshi joins the Dark Mirror Court they must pass through a mirror; through this, Mirrorspace makes a replica of their starseed and siphons its chaotic energy through it and into them through the Mirrorcoating on their true starseed. If a Corrupted Senshi were to step through the Mirror, their starseed is already tainted and the Mirrorcoating would not be able to bond appropriately; it would be like trying to mix oil and water.
OOCly this is in place because it would create enemies of the Dark Mirror Court and the Negaverse; the Negaverse has more numbers and could easily abduct the DMC and forcibly corrupt them. The Negaverse has far more advanced resources and knowledge of many DMC identities; it would be difficult to suspend disbelief that they would not abuse their advantages and force the DMC to join them. The Negeverse would seek to identify any threats to their numbers, and if the Dark Mirror Court started bringing Corrupted Senshi into their Court, the Negaverse would see them as an enemy and seek to destroy them. If there is a purification and then recorruption between the two factions, the Negaverse does not see that as the Dark Mirror Court stealing their Senshi, merely removing a White Moon adversary. We currently don’t allow it OOCly just because of the hostilities it could breed between the two factions, who already sometimes have trouble balancing with each other and getting along while they are competing for resources.

If a character keeps the same hobbies / traits, but updates or changes how they are played (for example, going from student to instructor in a hobby), would this need to be posted in the Revisions thread for approval?
As long as it is a reasonable progression, this does not require approval and can be updated accordingly. It is no different from a character graduating from Meadowview and moving on to DCU or HITS!

(Sorry for posting another question so soon!;; I'm pulling all of my journals back together and double-checking my infos to join in again, but I should have compiled my questions better.) Question about corrupt guardian cat abilities! I was using a previous Q&A answer as a guide, but a new answer seems to contradict it. (It's an old answer so maybe it's been phased out?) Could you further clarify if a corrupt guardian cat can independently upgrade a corrupt senshi? During a corruption or awakening a superior officer is required to actually handle the starseed and pump chaos in. On occasion in the past while doing a corruption the senshi has also been upgraded at the same time. Often this included a cat being present, but there may have been a few where that was not a case. This is more of a fluke based on power surging and is not a traditional or normal form of upgrade.
For normal upgrades a cat would be required, whereas a superior officer is not required but may of course be in attendance if they like.
Clear/concise list:
* I'm awakening my senshi - Superior officer necessary. Guardian cat encouraged but not necessary.
* I'm corrupting a pre-existing senshi - Superior officer necessary.
* I'm upgrading at the same time I corrupt - Superior officer necessary. Guardian cat encouraged but not necessary.
* I'm upgrade my previously corrupted senshi - Guardian cat necessary. Superior officer optional. Quote: A henshin pen is still required for a corrupt senshi to power up. If they are corrupted from the white moon, they keep their existing pen post corruption. If they are awakened directly into the Negaverse through a General Sovereign, they will only get their pen (as well as name and sphere) if a cat is present. If a Guardian Cat is not present at the time of awakening, one will need to be sought out so they can create a pen for that Senshi.
At present, only a General Sovereign is able to power up a corrupt senshi, as this requires channeling more chaos magic into the Senshi's starseed. The henshin pen would only upgrade form if a Guardian Cat manually upgraded the pen after the Senshi was promoted by a General Sovereign, however even if a Guardian Cat didn't alter the pen in any way, the Senshi would be able to reach the new stage with their original pen. It would be a purely aesthetic upgrade to the pen.
Phones are an Order only form of communication as they are linked to the Order Mauvian base for use. Once a Senshi corrupts, the phone disappears into an unreachable subspace and they are no longer able to access or summon it.

Apologies if this has been asked before and I missed it:
Do Guardian Cats have the same health requirements as a standard house cat? Do they need to go to the vet for checkups/shots/etc? Are they prone to the same illnesses that might afflict a regular cat? Or are they different enough that a vet in Destiny City might not be able to treat them if something comes up?

Guardian Cats do not need to go to the vet for checkups/shots; while they look like cats, they do not have the same vulnerability to feline diseases. Because they are aliens, they do not need to be vaccinated. If something came up, such as an injury, a vet could treat them and would not be aware that they were not a normal Earth cat. If a player wishes for their Mauvian to become sick with anything other than a cold or allergies, please message us so we can work out details!
