“Tree….Tree…Tree….Tree…..Tree……Tree….A squirrel? Nope, tree root.” Hotaru mumbled as she wandered through the forest. Surprisingly, Hotaru was just a little kid who looked to be around five or six years old and didn‘t seem to be bothered by the cold. She was dressed in baggy black pants, and a dark blue t-shirt with matching sandals. Her hair was short and red and her eyes were the same color. On her forehead was a headband with a metal plate attacked to the front with a Konoha leaf village symbol on it. “Tree…tree…building…hm?” she stooped walking and looked at the club ahead. Naturally curious about what was in this mysterious building, she ran ahead until she reached the door. Luckily, the door was slightly open so she would not have to knock and wait for someone to let her inside. First, she pushed it open a little and peeked through the crack. After seeing that the inside looked safe enough, she entered then closed the door behind her. “Wonder what this place is for.” she said to herself as she looked around, walking towards the bar area.

Soon after Hotaru had entered, Keno too walked into the club, though this time he wasn't following her. He actually never thought he would see her in this place, but she had a way of getting around it seemed, despite her tiny youthful frame. His new white outfit was again clean, and upon seeing the child, he dropped his energy signature completely to zero in case someone might be trying to track him.
Unsure of what to make of the situation, he decided he might as well just ask. "So what are you doing here little firefly?" He hadn't waited for her to turn around before he scooped her up into his arms and started tickling her belly button affectionately.

Hotaru was a little startled, since she didn’t know that anyone was behind her and she didn’t realize who he was until he scooped her up and started tickling her. “Hahaha Tao Tao quit it!“ She began to giggle and squirm while trying to keep him from tickling her so much so she could talk to him. “ I got lost again.” she said with a grin. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

Lost again? For a little kid she sure had an interesting way of getting to know people. It seemed the reason they met in the first place was because she had gotten lost and wound up at Miyu's place, and now she had somehow gotten to Orion. He wasn't sure if it was luck or something else keeping her from the worse places out there.
"Why am I here?" he mimicked as he tickled her harder for a moment. "My sister and my friends live here. It's one of my homes." Well he seemed cheery enough for the time, assured that the answer would satisfy her.
"It's not as warming as the Deception, but there's more for me in this club than there is at the bar, so I spend more time here when I'm on Earth."

Hotaru laughed again as he tickled her. She was laughing so much that tears started to roll down her cheeks. “They do?” she blinked then looked around. It seems that she came when no one was around besides Keno. “Cool. I can come visit you now sometimes.” she said with a smile then pointed at her new headband. “Lookie lookie! I graduated to genin rank!”

"Huh?" Of course he doubted highly that the child could have already become a genin. She was only six for one and didn't know any jutsu he was sure. Even he had to learn the basic clone technique, although his training was never really formal so technically she was a higher rank ninja than he was. That aside, how did she come to do that?
"Well congratulations to you! I guess this means I'll have to take you shopping again as well as dinner and a movie to celebrate now won't I?" Well for whatever reason or by whatever means, the official headband didn't lie. A true shinobi wouldn't lend that out and genin were not able to obtain one unless they graduated, even for a moment.

"You mean it? Yay!!" Hotaru giggled then messed with her headband. "Cause I'm a real ninja now, I get to go on missions. Probably D and C rank." Even though those were the lowest rank missions, she was happy to be able to do them as a ninja. She had actually wondered why she was promoted to genin so quickly. Besides being so young, she was technically not a member of the village, she just kind of moved in with Shikamaru. "Oh yeah! I can throw two kunai at the same time now!"

"Well you're just full of surprises now aren't you?" He tossed her up and down a bit, catching her gently in his arms before twirling her around in circles. He didn't remember being that energetic and proud when he was young. Then again, he was quickly humbled about any sort of achievement. It was refreshing that this little one could be so happy with herself for every small step forward. He felt he needed to encourage since few were blessed with such an outlook, especially when they grew older.
"Well one day you will have to show me okay? But for right now..." as he said this he placed her on the ground and fell on all fours and began to growl. "Run!" Since there was no one else around, and even if there was, he thought it would be fun to chase her around the club and see how far she would get before he caught her.

Hotaru laughed. She loved being tossed around like that. It was very fun. She blinked then giggled when he started growling then screamed, not loudly, though. She turned then ran away into the hallway and down the steps leading to the stadium. "Ahh! Monster!" she tried to keep from giggling. Well, she was faster than the average six year old at least.

Keno made sure not to catch her, following her slowly until she turned around and then pouncing at her, falling just short so that she could keep running. As she headed for the hallway he wondered which direction she would end up going end. Either could be a lot of fun, but one may or may not be more dangerous than the other if he or she was reckless. Oh well, he would cross that boat when he crossed it.

Hotaru giggled as she ran into the stadium. She looked around for a moment before heading to the spectator’s bleachers. She could use her small size as an advantage there. She ran into the spectator’s grounds then ducked, crawling under the chairs. She would be harder to catch there right?

Not quite. Though Keno couldn't crawl under the seats like Hotaru, he could reach his hand under and grab her by the foot and pull her out, and that's exactly what he did. With her dangling upside down he stroked her chin and launched her back in the air, letting her spin right side up before catching her again.

Hotaru had been sure that she was going to get away too. She blinked a couple of times as she looked at his now upside down face. "Yaa!!" She had bearly realized that he had tossed her up in the air when he caught her. She looked up at him then smiled. "Hi again."
