As Kraven stepped off the boat, she scanned the immediate area for another game to play. She noticed a large grey tent, and upon further examination, she realized it was filled with a bunch of game cabinets. She wasn't exactly great at these things, but she'd spent plenty of time playing them, and had a fair bit of fun. She decided to play something that was a little out of her element though, one of those House of the Dead-esque zombie shooters. She'd played a few, but they didn't make up the bulk of her experience. It certainly showed by the time she finished too. Her score wasn't terrible, but it also would've been less than par for something like this. Still, she only got about three tickets from it, but considering that wasn't too bad. Though she'd heard there was one more game that'd give her tickets, so she'd need to go check that out before she tried to take another go at the arcade.

While Kraven's been running around playing these games, Torch has been on her shoulder, watching. As she approached the ring toss stand, the Chimchar got a little excited. When the man went to hand her the rings, the little orange monkey climbed down from his trainer and took the rings. He looked up to her first though, as if to see if she was okay with him taking a shot at it. She nodded approvingly though, and excitedly, he began tossing the rings towards the bottles. While he was doing that though, the ebon-haired trainer's wrist buzzed again, with a reply from Phoenix. When the man at the stand gave her the tickets Torch had earned her, she moved away to write up her reply.
Reply to Phoenix
lol Got it, I'm probably gonna stay here for a while, but I'll let you know if I ever move to another island.

Alex was glad to get another ticket, but he still had a long way to go. Either way, he was already focused on the next game. The Fortune Wheel was where he was headed next, this game had been pretty kind to him the last few times. Alex stepped up to the wheel and spun it quickly wanting to pick up the tickets before moving to the next game. Eventually the wheel came to a stop and it had stopped on the number four. This wasn't the best, but it was decent enough that it was worth the effort. Alex picked up the Tanabata tickets that he won and added them to the rest. With that out of the way, he headed onward to the next game.

Alex wanted to get more games out of the way and went to the next that seemed like a good chance to win more tickets. His pokemon followed along as they had the entire time, they seemed to be getting used to the high and low nature of these games. It was nothing like pokemon battling, but it was nice to see the trainer do all the work for a change. Either way, they found themselves in front of the Ring Toss. Alex picked up the three rings and attempted to toss them onto the bottles. This time he didn't manage to land any of the rings. Despite the defeat, he picked up his two tickets and headed off toward the next game, most likely the Throwing Darts.

Sable's Ticket Count ⇨ 85 Jin's Ticket Count ⇨ 64
Sable chuckled a bit as Darren asked if his injury was bad."Nah, not too bad. Maybe about..."she started, then pinched the fingers of her left hand so that there was about a half inch gap between her forefinger and thumb."...That wide across at most. It's just that head injuries look a lot worse than they really are. A small scrape like that wouldn't be all that bad on an arm or a knee, but it tends to bleed a lot when it's a head wound,"she explained, then finished off her first bottle of water and tucked the empty container in her bag. Suddenly the extra three bottles - one for each person - weren't sounding like enough, at least if she went through the other bottle at the same rate. They might have been big bottles, but she tended to get thirsty fairly easy.
"Yeah... Makes me worry about what'd happen if you went back now that you have a team of your own..."Jin commented when Darren remarked on how bad that last set of ways for people to acquire Pokemon. Part of it was because he was also a member of her team and therefore a viable target, but it was also because if the lucky ones were ones that had their Pokemon suddenly go missing, he didn't want to think of what the unlucky ones had to deal with. But Sable didn't seem too worried and shook her head. [color#458B00]"Yeah, but that's part of why I figured I should take this trainer challenge thing before going home. That way when I do go back, I'm not exactly going to have a big target painted on my back,"she said to try to assure the duo, then sheepishly chuckled."But I'd imagine Orre's not the only region with a shady side. I mean, even out there we got word of some of the larger capers from some of these organizations floating about the league."
For a while, the teen decided to relax, then she recalled something and pulled her P*DA out of her pocket. "Oh, yeah, that news clip. Well, we're sitting down now if you want to see it,"she said as she slid open the device and started leafing through menus. She knew she had that clip stored somewhere, she just had to find the file somewhere in the device. In the meantime, it'd give Darren a chance to see what the hell she used, since she doubted many people outside the Orre region had seen a P*DA before. It certainly looked like Jin hadn't seen one since he was hovering over her shoulder looking at the device.
{{OOC: Heh, sounds like we both had the same problem. XD Gonna post this post and maybe something with Cameron and then go back to sleeping.
And yeah, the clip would roughly be this but probably from a different angle. Like, watching the arrest from up above and off to the side before shifting to see that little helicopter get blown out of the sky and panning around a bit to see what blew it up to see the freaking legendary Pokemon fly by. And then a little shake (someone smacking the camera guy on the back of the head or something) before it focuses on the events on the ground again. XD Probably one without the original audio of the event, too, and instead the news reporter voicing over it and commenting on whatever it's being shown for.}}
Bolt had a great amount of luck at the fortune wheel, spinning it and the pointer landing on the highest number on the wheel, a 10.
Darren breathed a bit of a sigh in relief as Sable showed him just how small the cut was, just explaining that head injuries looked worse than they were because they tended to bleed a lot more. "O-oh.... Okay right right, I knew that I just.... Heh..." He sobered and kept quiet before anything else stupid came rolling off his tongue.
However, as the topic came to the idea of poachers and thugs stealing pokemon from other trainers back in Orre, Darren and Jin grew rather worried, Jin agreeing with Darren that the prospect sounded pretty awful, and that it made him worry what would happen to Sable if she went back now since she had her own team. However Sable shook her head and reassured them that she was going to train up and take the league challenger before going home, since that way she wouldn't be an easy target. Darren nodded in agreement with her plan. "That's smart. Wow, you've really thought all this through haven't you?" He chuckled. Tough she also pointed out that Orre wasn't the only area with shady organizations. Of course other regions had their own issues, Rocket taking up Kanto and Johto, Magma and Aqua fighting over Hoeen, Galactic in Sinnoh, Plazma in Unova, Flare in Kalos, and then of course the lesser know but equally as dangerous Void underground.... Darren scratched his head and sighed. "Yeah... Well there's always that..." He said quietly.
Darren quickly brightened up however as Sable mentioned showing them that news clip, however Darren was expecting a holocaster or something, instead he saw Sable pull out a big hunk of metal and flipped it open. "What is that...?!" Darren asked with obvious interest. It looked pretty high tech, and yet archaic at the same time. He'd never seen anything like it, and it held his profound interest even without the news clip showing yet.

Heh I had a feeling you'd use a clip from the game xD Would the reporter know about Cypher and the Shadow pokemon and be talking about it or would they have no idea what the heck's going on?
Bolt was happ with his ten tickets and decided to use this burst of confident energy to play an arcade game and blast some monsters, which ended up being a great idea since he almost made it all the way to the final boss, but his confidence became his downfall as he made a risky move and died because of it, but the machine still payed out a nicely sized seven tickets for his efforts, which Bolt happily took.

With more excited energy to spare, Bolt figured he could use it by throwing more rings at the ring toss. It was a decent investment, a nice work out, and he even landed two of the three rings so he got a decent payout of five tickets, and now he could relax for a bit, or maybe try that throwing dart station across the way...

Sable's Ticket Count ⇨ 86 Jin's Ticket Count ⇨ 64
After Rose earned that little Clampearl to put in a tank earlier, Oaken figured he could do one better and tried to fish out a Wailmer. He got pretty close, figuring it'd be safer to balance the thing on the rim of the net instead of using the actual paper, but the wood snapped when he almost got the Pokemon out. He frowned at the little net, but took the single ticket he was offered before running off to find a different game to play.
Jin tilted his head a bit when Sable commented about staying in the league's six regions for the league challenge, if only so she'd be better prepared for when she goes back. He had to admit, that sounded like a pretty good idea to him, especially since he wanted her to have some tough teammates to protect herself. Even if more than a few of them wanted to stay fluffballs. Although that Everstone she found was starting to give him an idea..."How far are you planning to go? With the challenge, I mean?"he asked suddenly, since, if Darren's assumption was right, she had a pretty good idea of her end goals already. Sable grinned a bit and brushed back a stray bit of hair."Well, I'm hoping to get eight badges from at least one region. I mean, that's how it works out here, right? Pokemon don't respect people with too few badges or something like that? Sounds odd to me but if I'm mostly getting my Pokemon by catching them out here, it'd be better to be on the safe side and earn the badges. Probably won't shoot for Champion, but I wouldn't mind taking on the Elite Four and Champion at least once."she leaned back and chuckled a bit as the thought of becoming champion of a region crossed her mind, then leaned forward again so she didn't fall off the rock she was sitting on."Not much point in being champion if I'm not gonna stay in the region,"Sable lamented as she worked on pulling out her P*DA.
When Darren also started looking at the P*DA with some bit of wonderment in his eyes, Sable couldn't help but laugh. He seemed like such a nice guy, and the look on his face was almost too adorable when coupled with the rest of his behavior."Oh, this old thing? It's called a Pokemon Digital Assistant, but that's a bit of a mouthful so everyone just shortens it to P*DA,"she explained as she leafed through her saved videos, then eventually stopped at one that looked like it was about seven years old or so based on the time stamp."Ah, here we are. This is kinda special for two reasons, and one of them should be pretty obvious,"she said, then started up the video while moving the device to where Jin and Darren could see it better, even at the cost of her own viewing. It wasn't like she couldn't look at the clip later if she wanted to, it was her device. Besides, she'd looked it over how many times? How many times had she seen that guy get arrested? How many times had she seen that helicopter blown up by Sacred Fire? How many times did she wince in sympathy for the cameraman wanting a good shot of Ho-oh but getting smacked on the back of the head for not paying attention to the situation on the floor?
For the most part the teen sat quietly while the other two watched, although Sable did get an uncomfortable look whenever Cipher or Shadow Pokemon were mentioned in the news report. Right. The teen had forgotten that the newscaster voicing over that video was talking about the group being stopped and that the problem was no more. Although, Sable knew that the newscaster had ultimately been wrong. They had become a problem again. And had been brought down again, supposedly for good this time. She knew better than to think that was the last of them, though, even if they really did get the big boss this time. That Evice guy was only the regional head, so that meant there were members in other regions, members who might not care that the team is officially brought down. And there was no way in hell she'd know until something happened. It was a disturbing idea, but the teen knew a couple ways to counter it. She just needed to get a Ralts, Riolu, or one of their evolutions. It wouldn't help much with finding the operatives, but it would at least give her a heads up with the problems they caused. Specifically involving Shadow Pokemon.
{{OOC: Well, first, the version of P*DA she has is more along the lines of the one in Gale of Darkness as opposed to the monster one Wes had in Colosseum. Still looks clunky compared to a Xtranceiver or a Holocaster, though. XD And as far as knowing what their talking about, if I recall correctly (it's been a while since I've gone through the game) the people on the news had talked about Cipher at least a few times since it basically acts as a "this is what story bit you resolved last" thing. I can't recall if they've mentioned shadow Pokemon in the game up before that point or not, though. So yeah, probably talking about it and all that stuff.
Just saying as a heads up since timelines are all wibbly-wobbly in here (makes my brain hurt most of the time), I'm figuring that Colosseum and Gale of Darkness have come and gone as far as events and it's, like, a couple years or so after Gale of Darkness. Mostly because I liked the P*DA style of Gale of Darkness more than the one for Colosseum. XD Although Wes having that old thing fits with who he is/was and all that. XD But that make that clip old from her point of view, so it shows that it's still an important thing to her for her to still have it after seven or so years (five from the time gap between Colosseum and Gale of Darkness plus one to three years past that). c:

Shenaiya got off the boat and followed her friends happily. She was equally excited about candy. "Candy~ Candy~ Candy~" She sang song happily in agreement about finding candy. When they mentioned a beach treasure hunt, Shenaiya tilted her head to the side. "What do you do at a treasure hunt? And at the beach? What could you do at the beach other than collect shells and play in the water?" She asked curiously as she walked with her two friends to the candy stall. When Rose mentioned Marx getting a message, she looked over in anticipation wondering who it was. "Ooooo, has Alexandra arrived yet? Do you know?" She asked curiously. She chuckled though as Rose excitedly fell onto Marx. Rose was so cute sometimes! Serenity was floating through the air, curiously watching all the people around the area. What was so interesting here. But as she found herself curious she noticed the smell of food. And Landed next to Shenaiya. Sniffling at what could only be the smell of food. Shenaiya looked over to the Charizard. Watching her sniff at the air, Shenaiya chuckled. "Hungry?""Chari...Zard."

The enthusiasm with which Rose cheered for a treasure hunt, and tossed her hands up, threw Marx a little off balance. He stepped back, but hold onto her, bending forward slightly to make sure she didn't fall off. He turned his head, grinning back at her a bit when he was sure she was, then over at Shenaiya, his grin growing at her song. He straightened up a bit, tilting his head at the girls question. "Whaddaya mean? You hunt for treasure! We can try and collect stuff, or have a competition who can find the most of something or something! We definitely gotta go swimming, though! I haven't been able to get in the water in ages!" he proclaimed. He blinked, though, when they both noticed the text.
He picked up his holo caster, noticing that Cheria had replied and blinking a bit in surprise. He looked back up, though, shaking his head. "No, I haven't heard from Alexandra yet. I've been messaging Cheria, though. Apparently she moved to another of the Islands... Four, I think? Uh... I'll have to double check. But anyway, I think she's gonna come join us at some point," he said, starting in on a reply to the girl. He glanced over as Shenaiya's Charizard landed, sniffing around at the food, and grinning, tucking his device away as he sent the message to Cheria.
"Maybe we should get some food for our pokemon, too? We can go eat it by the beach, maybe go swimming or something!" he suggested, beaming, unaware of his pokemon's valiant effort to once again catch a fish, and fail, getting one ticket which Vaporeon took into her mouth, trudging off to try another game.

Now that she more or less knew what all the games were that'd earn her some tickets, Kraven looked around a bit for some of the smaller-scale games. She noticed there were stalls for games other than the five on Four Island, though not a lot of them she was interested in playing. Maybe there'd be something more up her alley on this island though. After a bit of walking, she found something that caught her eye.
A large machine sat squarely between two larger stands. Kraven couldn't really tell what the rest of the machine was meant to do, just guessing some of it was to keep it down, but what she did understand was the red mat on the front of it, and the digital counter poking out from the top. It was a little archaic, but it was a strength-tester machine. She'd seen plenty, even gave some a shot, and it looked like this one was another game for the fair. As she approached the machine, the man who was the attendant got up from his chair, ready to explain how it all worked.
"Hello young lady," He greeted. "Would you like to test your strength? If you top the current high score you'll win a prize." The man motioned to a small blackboard next to the machine, listing the current high score. "71". But Kraven just took the number as a challenge. She moved in front of the machine without a word, and got into a fighting stance. The southpaw stance was probably unnecessary, since she just needed to hit it once, but it helped her get the gears turning. She pressed her left arm against herself, then shifted forward as it shot forth in a spiral motion. The fist connected with the mat with a satisfying "thump". The large counter then began to flash through various numbers at once as it calculated, almost like there was an error, but before long it finally settled on the number "85". This was the point the attendant spoke up again. "Congratulations, you've set a new high score!" The man reached one hand for a small box and the other for the eraser to the blackboard. The one in the box emerged with a pokeball, handing it to Kraven.
The ebon-haired trainer took her prize and moved away from the games momentarily. She wanted to see her new addition to the team, but didn't wanna do it in the middle of all the crowds in case it was something huge. Once she was out of the way, she pressed the button on the ball, and waited for the white energy to fade into whatever pokemon that materialized. What emerged was a blue, bi-pedaled dog, crimson eyes looking up at Kraven. A soft smile came in response to the sight, and the trainer squatted down to his level. "Hey there little buddy, welcome to the team." She held her thumb and index finger to the Riolu, taking his little paw and shaking it. "I think I'll call you... 'Noris'. How's that sound?" He let out an affirming cry, and Kraven picked up the young jackal in her arms before getting to her feet, and heading back to play more games.

Rose was beyond excited. She was with friends, and this festival showed no signs of being some kind of trap full of baddies so far. And on Marx's back, she felt like nothing could stop her from having fun. "Woo! I even have a bathingsuit with me, too! We can do all the things! I bet they have some games near the beach, too!" Rose exclaimed after Marx listed off what they could do at the beach to Shenaiya.
Rose pouted a bit as there was nothing heard from Alexandra. "Oh yeah! Cheria's here then? I was wondering where she ran off to! She like, disappeared so fast!" the red head commented, then looked over at some of the stands. Upon noticing some bags of colorful candies, she bounced a bit on Marx's back. "Oh! I want to get some of those things!""They're called Konpeito. It's pretty much just colored sugar..." Fynx chimed in, sticking close to the group. "Sounds like pretty good candy to me~" Rose smiled, passing Fynx some money to buy a few bags of the konpeito from the stand. The Delphox chuckled a bit, but bought some of the sugar candy anyways, handing back the change and the bags to Rose.
"Oh! Yeah, we should probably pick up some food for our pokemon, too! I'm pretty sure quite a few of my pokemon would enjoy some beach time with some food." Rose commented when hungry pokemon were mentioned. Perhaps the beach might even be a little more empty, so that she could spend more time figuring out Chifaera.

Darren nodded as Sable explained her plan to take on the league, affirming her guess that pokemon didn't respect their trainer if they didn't have enough badges at certain levels. Since she wasn't planning to stay in the area for long though, she wasn't going to try and become champion, though she certainly wouldn't mind trying to beat the elite four and the champion at least once.
Darren would have inquired more on the subject but Sable had taken the opportunity to offer showing them the recording she had mentioned before, and on top of that it was with a device Darren had never seen before. Sable explained that it was a Pokemon Digital Assistant, otherwise known as the P*DA. Darren watched with awe as she flipped through the videos saved in the device and opened up the file that she'd wanted to show them, explaining that the video was special for two reasons, one was obvious, but Darren wondered if he'd be able to pick them both out. As he watched the film play out, he became acutely aware of which one was obvious. "I-Is that a Ho-Oh?!" Darren gasped, rubbing his eyes to make sure he was seeing clearly. Sure enough though, the rainbow colored bird had appeared out of the sky and shot down the helicopter that the people below were trying to use to escape an arrest.
The news reporter had said something about Cypher, though the name meant nothing to Darren, but he assumed they were bad news, given what the reporter was saying and seeing how they were getting arrested. And what was that about Shadow Pokemon...? It was all very confusing. Still, Darren winced as the cameraman was smacked for trying to capture a bit more footage of the Ho-Oh instead of focusing on the crooks below. Was that really necessary? A sighting of Ho-Oh was rare, could the reporter really blame the guy for trying to get more footage on it?
The news reel cut short, and Darren found himself quite puzzled. "I'm assuming the Ho-Oh is one of the two special things about this film, but I can't say I know what the other is. Does it have something to do with this Cypher group or the Shadow Pokemon? Because if not I have a few questions about those topics too....." Darren mentioned with a slight frown.

Mm yeah I figured that. I've played both games and her model looked more like the DX version x3 But yeah lol def more clunky than anything Darren would be used to. Though I don't think that's because of the lack of technology. I always thought that all the technology in the Orre region was that way because it helped prevent sand getting into the hardware and messing up everything xD Its just a theory.
Yeah the timeline here is more of an AU from all the game canon stuff, but also in the future, a future where none of the teams were beaten, but since Orre isn't exactly included as guild canon per se since the Orre region isn't in the guild currently, I don't mind you saying that Cypher's defeated for now, or thats what everyone thinks >w> just try to avoid absolutes. Your character can be under the opinion that they were defeated however.
