::The ground itself seems to tremble as the two warrior souls run toward eachother, the ripples of the demon's steps coursing outward and dying several meters away. The rain starts to hammer down heavier with each step, the anger in Fierce's eyes matched only by the determination in Deity's. The boy rushes down the side of the hill, the devil moving up along the same path, until they finally meet. The demon sends the first attack, thrusting out his right fist to punch his enemy as his left knee rises for his next stride. Digging his left heel against the sand, Deity swiftly comes to a stop and spins clockwise, his right leg spinning around and catching the outside of the punch, diverting it to the right. The shift in balance leans Fierce to his side, and he abruptly drops his left heel to the sand to stop his forward movement lest he trip; before he can recover, Deity delivers a whiplike calf kick to the head with his still-hovering right leg, sending the devil lashing backwards.
As though fazed but unharmed, Fierce counters instantly by flowing into the momentum of his body and lifting his right foot from the ground, his left swinging across and smacking against the right side of Deity's face, whose neck snaps to the side for only a moment. Fierce sends himself into a lopsided backflip with the kick, his left leg hitting the flooded ground at the same time that Deity plants his right foot as well to anchor himself. With the demon gaining a full footing once more, the two stand right side to right side. In a flash of lightning, the two have raised their right forearms over their far shoulders before swinging them simultaneously at eachother, their two limbs slamming against eachother to form an 'x'. The sheer force causes a massive tremor, the airborne shockwave completely blowing away any water within thirty feet and sending a spray of sand all around them. Hardly noticing the effect as the ground is blown dry beneath them, they deftly pull their arms away and swing their left fists across the gap between them at the same time, both punches landing squarely against their chests.
Another huge shockwave sends waves through the flooding rainwater as the two men are blown backward by their own attacks, sent like bullets through the storm-filled atmosphere. Deity crashes against the rocky floor again, a wall-like wave of water pushed away from his position. He skids along what would be some two hundred feet before kicking from the ground and flipping back onto his feet. Fierce manages to flip upright while still airborne, but his foot-first landing inevitably turns into a backwards roll, his sense of balance nowhere to be found. He, too, eventually flips up and to his feet with some effort, facing his human alter-ego some four hundred feet away with an enraged growl. Back and forth, the voices of the two wills travel as clearly as if they were face to face.::
You underestimate your role in our game, boy...you aren't the main player! ...and you are? I'm the one who controls this world! It's mine!! You're just the field of play....you just need to be here! You have no other purpose!! You're just afraid...
::Seemingly dumbfounded by the boy's conclusion, Fierce reacts with surprise, widening his eyes and furrowing his brow in frustrated perplexity.::
Afraid?!? Me?? ....afraid you might actually lose. You're helpless unless Deity's weakness is exploited...even in 'your world'. You need him to let you use your power; otherwise, you don't even have it. N-nonsense...I'm invincible! ...when you do have that power, it is true that Deity can't defeat you...you're scared to death that, if Deity regains what you stole from him, he may just end you forever. You said it yourself, demon - without a playing field, it's game over.
::The beast visibly winces, eyes wide with horror. The boy is right. No matter how powerful the devil is, the demonic power of Fierce can be silenced forever if the same happens to Deity's more frail human body.::
Y-you wouldn't... Perhaps...but wishful thinking isn't enough to quell your fears... It d-doesn't matter! You don't stand a chance anyway!! Once I'm through with y-you, I'll bring destruction and death to all you hold dear!!
::The rain-soaked Deity pauses a moment as though mulling over the thought. Fierce's eyelids are squeezed into narrow slits as he bares his fangs and growls to himself, his fists shaking. Narrowing his eyes, Deity then smiles a soft, mocking smile to his beastly adversary.::
...it's nice to know that, under that vicious exterior, you still have dreams. Sh-shut up, impudent lunatic...I'll kill you! Trying to convince Deity, or yourself...? Shut up!!!
::The demon roars at the top of his lungs in ferocious anger, his voice for some reason no longer travelling as far or as powerfully as before, drowned out eventually by the rain. His fists shake more and more as he grits his teeth, black eyes narrowed. Far across the realm, Deity stands still for a few moments longer, his fingers curling and balling into fists. Squatting down slightly with his left leg bent at a right angle, he shifts his right foot forward under the rippling water surface. He simultaneously positions his left fist forwrad, right curled behind him, forming a stance that denotes he's about to run. Seeing this through the haze of rainfall, Fierce snarls angrily and takes off, running through the water toward his alter-ego. He weaves from side to side inbetween nearby sand dunes as the water splashes around his feet, the boy in the distance still unmoving.
This goes on for a few more seconds before a sudden series of lightning bolts streak down across the horizon, blinding white flashes lighting up the entire realm as the thousands of mirror pieces shatter unexpectedly. This startles Fierce, who nearly falls over in an attempt to stop hismelf and shield his face, millions of tiny glass shards darting out into the sand and water. The winds begin to die, and the stormy clouds up above slowly begin to calm. Seeing this, his hands still near his head, the devil simply scoffs before bolting off again, apparently not caring. Just then, there is a massive upward torrent of water in the distance. Fierce's black eyes widen as he sees the cause; closing in at an insane velocity, Deity parts the waters behind him as he dashes toward his demonic adversary, teeth bared and his right arm reared back behind him.
The beast just gets his arms up when Deity's right forearm blasts through them, hitting him in the face and sending him careening wildly into the air. The human incarnation comes to a skidding halt with his left heel forward, his right knee drawing closely to the ground as the spray of water catches up and envelopes him. While Fierce tries vainly to right himself as he flails about toward the ground, the boy below quickly leaps up into the air after him, the rain pouring down harder on the both of them. Soaring through the air and over one of the dunes in a wide arch, Deity dives down at the demon and grabs his shoulders, sending the two down together.
The impact is impressive, Deity slamming Fierce down back-first to the water, holding his head under the slowly-clearing surface. Kneeling above his enemy's abdomen with his left knee up, Deity holds the demon's face in the water as though to drown him. Pulling desperately at the boy's wrists, Fierce struggles for air as he's held under, until he's finally pulled back up by an ever-stronger grip. Blinking the water out of his eyes and gasping for breath, he sees only a heavy right fist landing on his left eye, pushing his head back down under the water and harshly into the rocks below. He is quickly pulled up again by his shoulders before once again Deity punches him in the face. The third time, however, as Deity swings another right, the devil crosses his arms and catches the punch inbetween his wrists before quickly clutching the boy's throat with both hands.
Shaking his head free of water with a furious growl, he pushes Deity away enough to lift his right leg and press his sole against the boy's chest. Using his left leg, he rolls backward and flips Deity onto his back. Likewise flipping back, Fierce ends up straddling the human's chest, blood dripping profusely down from his brow as he lifts his arms up above his head. Clenching his fists together, he prepares to swing them down for a blow to the head. Before he can strike, Deity curls his lower torso up and wraps his legs around from behind the demon, locking his ankles together against his chest. The result locks Fierce's arms above shoulder level as he frantically tries to shake himself loose.
With a sharp yelp of surprise, Fierce is lifted right off of his enemy as Deity plants his palms into the water on either side of his half-submerged head, raising his hips and throwing Fierce away with his legs. The demon lands on the back of his head with a harsh thud, his arms opening out to either side and his boots dunking into the water above his head. Before he can unfold himself and get his head out of the water, Deity rolls back, arching into a handstand and forcefully swinging Fierce out of the pool of fallen rain. With another heavy landing, the boy has flipped back and left the devil sitting in the water behind him, a disoriented look in his black eyes.
Quickly unhooking his ankles and letting his calves fall to the ground on either side of the demon, Deity pushes himself into an upright kneeling position, leaning against his adversary's back with a subtle clockwise twist of his upper torso. He then swings a heavy right elbow back into Fierce's temple, which causes him to jerk toward the other side with a painful groan. Twisting deftly counter-clockwise now, Deity lifts his left arm and swings it around the beast's head before he can recover, tightly clasping the inside of his elbow around his neck.
A startled Fierce quickly begins clawing at the boy's arm, drawing blood but doing little in the way of freeing himself. Shifting his knees forward, Deity suddenly hops to his feet while yanking Fierce up behind him, bending forward and to his right. With Fierce leaning back over the boy's left side, Deity uses his left arm to roll Fierce back against his side by his neck. The devil flips helplessly backwards and over the Orinian, only coherent enough to see the ground and plant his feet as he lands directly in front of Deity, his neck having been released mid-flip. Shaking his head dizzily after the repeated inversions of his vertical axis, the demon focuses his eyes in time to see a fierce right uppercut.
Deity's knuckles blast through Fierce's face like a training demolishing a stalled car, the resulting range of exerted force blowing everything away within two dozen meters. The shockwave appears as a semi-transparent shield of water surrounding the two battling souls as Deity's knuckles collide with Fierce's jaw, the monster blasted away like a missile out of control. Rainwater sprays away from him as he spins in a wide arch, bulleting over several sandy hills without the ability to right himself. As he loses momentum and begins to fall down again, he appears to be fading into unconsciousness, blood streaming from either side of his mouth. Though he expects to be pummeled once more any moment, he finds his landing as only as painful as his fall allows, the landing deadened only by the sand cushioning him. His ears are filled only with the sound of rain for a few moments as he lies motionless, eventually letting out a few hoarse words.::
....wh-wh....I didn't th--...it's....n-not fair....
::The rain pours down as heavily as ever, each droplet feeling heavier and heavier than the last as it pelts his face, slowly washing the blood away and making the idea of opening his eyes an uncomfortable one. Fierce moves each limb only short distances before pausing, apparently racked with enough pain to prefer just lying there. Not only has he lost, but he's thoroughly lost. He lets out a groaning, pitiful sigh upon hearing the words of the other soul booming out, echoing repeatedly in his mind.::
Sorry things didn't go as you'd planned them...
::He weakly tilts his head back to see the tall boy standing over him, already having caught up despite the distance he just sent him with a single blow. There is a silent pause between the two as the human looks down at his inner demon with a blank look, his eyes emotionless as water drips rapidly from the ends of his soaked black hair. It was only when he understood the meaning of this encounter that he understood what it took to win. This fight was only as real as the insanity the two wills inhabit. Whoever wanted or needed control the most got it. Had such a realization not donned on him when it did, Deity would've lost then and there.
Without a word prior, he bends down and clasps his fingers around Fierce's throat, squeezing tightly, which evokes a grimace of pain from the incapacitated beast. With little effort, Deity stands up straight and lifts his adversary off of the ground, extending his arm above his head so that the devil's weak legs can't reach the sand dune below. The boy now speaks with a much softer tone, his brow furrowed as he proposes that Fierce surrender.::
Desist, man....or do you wish to have your face rearranged further? N-nghh....kehhe....insolent human...you have not w-won...we will always remain.... ...."we"?
::Rather than actually answer the lingering question, Fierce simply coughs up a few drops of blood with a dismal grin and continues.::
....the d-day will come...he will be free again...there is...heehe....n-nothing you can....do about it...
::The tall Tonepian looks disgusted, tired of the devil's babbling. No doubt, he speaks of the freak that Deity becomes that this manifestation is meant to represent. He's just a sore loser. Tightening his grip around Fierce's throat, he pulls him down closer and narrows his eyes, exhibiting a darker tone in his powerful voice.::
But today, you lose. ...indeed, boy...en....enjoy it w-while it....lasts...
::With a smiling scoff, Deity holds the monster further away before just opening his hand and letting him fall to the ground. Fierce's knees buckle and he slumps over at the human's feet, looking as lifeless as a puppet. Looking down with only his eyes, the Orinian raises his right foot and presses his heel into the devil's side, pushing him over the side to watch him roll to the bottom. Fierce falls into the water, face down and unmoving. Just then, the fallen rainwater itself clears up, revealing now a smooth and sandy ground underneath. In the time it takes Deity to look up and realize it, the sky remains dark with night, but is free of storms, revealing only a vast blackness dotted by lingering grey clouds. The sand dunes have all transformed into grassy hills, water still streaming down to soak into the colorful new landscape. Deity closes his red eyes and tilts his head back, taking in a deep breath as the rain washes over him atop the green knoll, his mind seemingly calmed from the nightmarish state it has taken.::
::Hearing the Jedi's words, the Knight turns over his shoulder to look at him directly. He, too, suspects that things are taking a turn for the better. Whether it is over or not, though, he can't say. This could take a lot longer, as far as he knows, which isn't a terrible lot. He finds a simple shrug is in order, unsure of what he would say to Valin otherwise. He likely would have been interrupted yet again had he spoken, the very thought crossing his mind just as the gentle light around his son quickly intensifies.
The light fully envelopes the sleeping Deity, the rays bright enough to blind one who directs their eyes toward it. His arm still around Jade's back, Sir Aaron winces and shuts his eyes, raising his left arm to shield his face as he turns away. While there is no sound or other means of display, those present can feel the darkness in the boy finally fade, to a level no more dangerous than the average being. His signature weakening, Deity's very aura seems to transform. After almost ten seconds, the source of light suddenly dies out, and the old Hykanan opens his green eyes to survey what's happened.
Still slumped forward with his legs crossed, Deity's dark black hair droops down over his expressionless countenance, eyes masked by both his red headband and his glasses. He wears a grey tanktop now with black jeans, matching leather gloves and boots adorning his hands and feet. Strapped over his right shoulder is an empty sheath, while behind his hips rests not his tail, but his old sword Hayahanekon, still held securely in its scabbard. Of particular note is the worn silver locket dangling gently from around his neck. He has returned to the state he was in more than a year ago, only a moment before he assumed the form of the devil. Deity is a human again.
The tall Knight would gasp if he had breath to speak of, but only stares in amazement for a few seconds. The process he's spent the past month training his son for has worked, though he's unsure exactly how. Deity's still unconscious, but he's returned to his normal self. Speechless for the moment, Sir Aaron only pulls his right arm away from the girl's shoulders, sure she'll want to be closer than the restraint of his heavy arm will allow. Pressing his knuckles to the cold floor below, he pushes himself up to his feet, keeping his thoughts momentarily to himself.::
