<suddenly...>>
Pardon me.
::The devil's calm voice courses throughout the subliminal realm, echoing loudly as though spoken through a giant megaphone. The sound alone feels as though it's about to cave Deity's lungs in as he lifts himself up onto his right elbow against the sand, clutching his chest with his free palm. He coughs harshly, thin streams of blood dripping from his mouth only to be washed gradually away by the weakening rain. While he can constantly hear the splashing of Fierce's heavy boots as they fall into the water, the slow rise in volume is a little more than unsettling as the devil approaches from somewhere in the darkness. Soon, only a faint silhouette of his frame is visible. This effect is eerily erased as another series of lightning bolts crashes into the horizon, the thousands of shattered mirror shards lighting up and illuminating the cocky grin on the demon's face. Even after taking a full hit to the neck, Fierce shows no injury, and yet has displayed strength far beyond what Deity is capable of in a single connection.
Deity begins to resent his father for showing him how to reach this place but not how to make use of it; on the other hand, Mystic Orinians don't exactly grow on trees. Nobody could've known. He must figure this out on his own or die trying. Refusing to go down after such a short struggle, the boy bears the pain and pulls his legs in before standing up shakily, lifting his left arm and dragging his bare wrist across his mouth. The beast only yards away, Deity looks down at his hand, seeing his own blood slowly drip away as rainfall coats his skin. A scowl on his face, the Orinian lets out an angry growl and kicks away from the sand, sprinting through the water toward his enemy. Step after step after step, each rising wave of water seems to take an eternity to descend as the boy runs through the rain, each stride hitting the ground harder as he opens into his attack. Leaping up from the ground off of a right step, Deity's left shoe swings up, a kick aimed for the monster's jaw.
Suddenly moving more quickly than before, Fierce rather gracefully leans to his left, turning gently in the same direction as the kick flies harmlessly over his back. Right out from underneath the attacking boy screams the beast's right foot, a mule kick firing up and crashing up into Deity's jaw. The resulting shockwave blasts away the rainwater from both the air and the ground, millions of black liquid droplets soaring through the air. Before the boy's body can fly up in reaction to the blow, the devil quickly twists his hips back to his right and bends his knee, hooking it around Deity's kicking left leg and pulling him back down, his boot hitting the water just in time with the boy's heavy landing. Deity's knees seem to give out on him, but a whiplike toe kick to the face keeps him upright a moment longer, his head tilted back with a severely dazed look in his pale red eyes.
Fierce's right foot hovers in the air for a time, his leg bending as he once again twists his hips in the opposite direction, standing on just his left leg for a few seconds. He watches the boy for a moment, waiting until he's just about to fall over - he then swiftly extends his leg and fires it backward, his heel crashing horizontally across Deity's face. Another forceful shockwave, out of which the Mystic Orinian soars, destined for another skid through the water. His limp body bolting through the air like a stray bullet, he finds the ground at a low angle, sheets of water spraying away from him as he grinds against the firm ground below.
Before he manages to stop, he hits a dune, dramatically slowing and tumbling up the side of the hill. When all momentum has been spent, the tall boy is lying at the top of the sand, face down, bloody and motionless. Hardly able to move at the moment, Deity just stays there, the rain starting to die down gradually more and more. With his closed right eye buried against the sand, his half-opened left eyelid lets him peer out into the abysmal darkness of this chaotic world he finds himself in. Stray mirrors pass by overhead, allowing Deity a glimpse of his prostrate form as blood drips from a hidden wound on his head and from his lower lip. The sand is slowly soaked with a vermillion tint, which as of yet has been untouched by all the constant rain. If this nightmare is meant to be a symbolization of his subconscious, what exactly is he supposed to be fighting for? Control over it?
All the while, somehow over the wind and the rain, he can clearly hear the sound of Fierce's heavy boots as he makes his way over through the dark water. All Deity can think at the moment is that none of this makes any sense. In such a horrible place, fighting a losing battle. Even if he wins, things can only get so much better. Fierce can't be forgotten or tucked away for eternity. He will get out again, and this may happen again. The boy's initial thought is that it's simply easier to give up and die now. It is at least better than winning and going through centuries of more torture just to have it happen all over again. Nothing is worth this.::
::The tall Knight's eyes widen gradually more as he looks down at his son, the darkness within eerily familiar. He shifts away a little further by drawing his right foot back to rest against that knee, his left still lifted as his long tail stiffens up behind him. He can only assume that any battle taking place within Deity's mind is one that is taking a turn for the worst. If such is the case, Deity may be devolving into Fierce once more. As Jade bravely moves closer and puts an arm around him, the Hykanan warrior leans somewhat closer to her with his right hand extended, palm open as though to wait for hers. Only being cautious, he'd like to move further away, but not at the expense of leaving the young lady by herself.::
Little love, I don' thin--
::Once again interrupted, the Knight silences as the ominous darkness within his son drastically multiplies. If the atmosphere were dimly lit a moment ago, it would now be pitch black, as though Fierce himself had suddenly appeared. While that is thankfully not the case, the situation is only so much better. Closing his hand and drawing it closer, Sir Aaron watches as the sleeping Deity's claws reach their full length of two inches, wisps of what looks like black smoke rising up from under his legs. Black Mist, the devil's signature. While at first only thin puffs, the Mist quickly builds up, curling oddly around the boy's form as though by a gentle wind. His energy level then begins to rise - though not at an extreme rate - while the temperature plummets, the immediate area chilled by the demonic aura that's taking over.
Without a word, Sir Aaron lifts up slightly and takes a few hasty steps over to Jade, ignoring the sudden lack of warmth surrounding him. Stopping to her left, he gently drapes her shoulders with his right forearm, his eyes on his younger son as he once again kneels down next to the girl. He shows no attempt to pry the Saiya-jin girl away, knowing well enough that he'd have to force her. The Knight is, however, prepared to do so when and if he needs to. Staying otherwise still, he glances over his shoulder to see the other two, the little child still asleep. Mr. Lobel, at the very least, is rather uneasy - User isn't very far behind. Though likewise apprehensive, Sir Aaron needn't flee until such action is necessary.::
...eas....ve.... ....j....J-Jade...
::Deity suddenly lifts his head, both red eyes opening as he hears the voice of his beloved. That wasn't his imagination, not in his head. He heard it. His soaked hair hangs like string before his sight as he pivots his head around to find her, but she's nowhere in sight. The only thing to see is this stormy world, the only sounds being that of wind, rain, and ever-louder footsteps behind him. He sighs to himself and presses his forehead to the sand, arms still limp at his sides. Here, he understands what is worth fighting for in such a dreadful place. If he gives up now, just laying here and submitting to defeat, Jade is sure to follow his lead in due time. If only for moments longer at a time, he must subdue the beast for those who must face it if he does not.
Groaning inwardly, Deity's arms both drag up to head level, his fingers raking in handfuls of sand as he pushes himself up, shifting his left knee under him. He then pulls up his right leg and plants his foot. Finally, he stands straight again, letting out a deep breath. Whipping his head back, his wet hair flips out of his face and against the back of his shoulders as he looks up at the sky. The rain starts to grow heavier again, pouring down like never before and washing the blood from his face. He slowly balls his fists, closing his eyes as all of the sounds around him seem to die out. He hasn't long to relax.::
Persistent wretch.
::The demon's voice sounds loudly from inches behind Deity's head, his eyes snapping open, alert. As though knowing it's coming, he drops down into a crouch as a left-handed swipe tears through the air above his head, his left leg extending as he moves into a counter-clockwise spin atop the dune. Striking with his heel, he sweeps at Fierce's legs, sending a spray of sand in a crescent shape through the air. The devil rather easily hops over it with a front flip over his opponent, landing heavily on the other side as he raises his right fist, turning around to counterattack. Instead, he hesitates after seeing Deity shift his footwork - still spinning - and stand to aim a right roundhouse kick to Fierce's neck again. With a sly grin, the monster lets it connect; his body jerks to his right for only a moment, his posture straightening as his left hand again fires up and catches Deity's ankle. He shakes his head mockingly, lifting his right foot from the sand.::
Very persiste-- Kyaahh!!
::Fierce's words are silenced by a powerful shout, Deity jumping from the ground with his left leg curled far behind him, his fists at his right as he lifts into a horizontal position. Wide-eyed, Fierce has only enough time to release his enemy before the boy swings his arms over to his left, a devastating left kick smashing across Fierce's skull. The force of the attack sends a shockwave in all directions as far as twenty feet, a spherical shield from the rain forming around the two men as though in decelerated time. All but moving slowly, the demon careens over Deity's right calf and tumbles down the side of the sandy hill, the human attacker rotating somewhat to his right on his descent to the ground. He lands just before a sheet of water falls down over him to signify the continuation of the downpour, rolling onto his back and nipping up and onto his feet again. He's up quickly enough, in fact, to watch as the hapless Fierce trips over himself toward the water.
The monster manages to recover, however, forcing himself into the air with a two-handed push and landing with a splash in the water. Blood streaming down over his right eyebrow, he glares menacingly up at Deity, standing alone atop the sand dune now. Angry, apparently Fierce underestimated this 'weakling', who still seems to have some determination left after all.::
....little insect... This ends right now...
::No longer raspy from the throat jab before, Deity's voice is louder, more confident as it echoes throughout the realm as powerfully as the rain. He narrows his crimson eyes, the demon staring right back at him with a fanged grimace. Though things may still be one-sided, perhaps the roles have been reversed. Clenching his black-clawed fists and squatting down in the shadowy water, Fierce lowers his body in preparation to strike. Deity retakes his stance from before, folding his right forearm behind his waist and opening his palm, aiming his fingertips down to his demonic adversary. Another blast of lightning illuminates the cloudy abyss as Fierce lets out a furious roar - the two dash through the sand and the water to meet eachother once more.::
::Just when it seemed the only way things could get worse is if they were as bad as possible, things begin to brighten up a little. Literally. A faint light begins to cover the Orinian, just enough to make his body itself seem brighter. Rather abruptly, the Black Mist begins to recede, being pulled underneath Deity's seated form as though being sucked in with a vacuum. The darkness fades significantly, nigh to the point of complete absence, his ki signature weakening again. The Tonepian's claws also shrink back down, eventually becoming mere black fingernails again. Looking mildly perplexed, the Knight leans away once more, this time with raised eyebrows as he observes what's going on.::
