Yiska stared at the werefox. Was this ghoul serious? Reaching out, the alp tore off the tag without damaging the dress, waving the price tag in front of Simply before tucking it into her hat.
She would take care of it. And by taking care of it, Yiska would make sure that Simply never saw that tag again. Ever. Yiska didn't have to explain anything.
It was taken care of now!
But then she noticed that Hairwolf had brought Simply a shirt that glittered, and she seemed to love it. Her glare set on Hairwolf with her one uncovered eye, and if looks could kill... that one would be dead ten times over.
Enemy #1. Yiska hates you.

As Mathias waited for a response to the question he had directed at the ghoul, his fingers and claws twiddled nervously at his chest. The academy he currently attended was an all boils school, so socializing with ghouls was not something he was as of yet used to. It was hard to not raise his gaze up, to not look fully upon somebody he was addressing, but it was for the best. Well, unless the ghoul wanted a new "pet" to follow her home.
When she began to speak it was even harder to fight against the pull of her voice, but practice made perfect, and he had learned how to refrain from such hazardous action.
And then, before she could even finish speaking to him, he felt it. Something snaking around his ankle, and his ears perked up straight as his gaze snapped downwards, eyes falling on a tentavine that pulled taut just as the wolpertinger was beginning to utter a curse underneath his breath.
"...Sheiss----" He was sent spilling to the floor, the word on his tongue cutting off as his head smacked against the floor.
"Vut is the meaning of this!!" He cried out as he was pulled along. "I only vished to speak with the ghoul! I meant her no harm!" Of course, he misinterpreted the reason behind the action that Touchstone had taken, and he rolled his head backwards to glare up at the boil....ghoul...thing who had abducted him.
"Un-vine me at vonce!" He shouted and began to struggle with his booted feet in a feeble attempt to have himself released.

"Aww, you were standing' already? My bad, mate." But it didn't look terribly apologetic with that grin as it paused to wave with a shorter vine at the monster ghoul in case she felt like joining in on the fun. "Get yer date later, we got ourselves a preeeetty good opportunity now." Once they reached Kari, Touchstone let the boil go and even went so far as to help him up with that very same captor vine, dusting him off with a few quick pat downs. "Could do with sayin' please, y'know. We're monsters, but we don't gotta act like beasts~
"Now!" It clapped its hands together and grinned, nudging the pyromancer again with its bare foot to try and get her to sit up at least. "I don't play...whatchamacallits. Those techy things with controllers and screens and noi- video games! There we go. I don't touch those, but a contact've mine tells me he gets loot all the time after beating a 'big boss'." It air quoted for emphasis. "So, since most've the shops here got destroyed or otherwise abandoned, I see a pretty nice business opportunity here. How's a nice ol' raid of the good stuff sound 'fore the poe-lice shop up?" he asked the group. "I don't get t'go to the overworld much, so I'd like a souvernir. Or twenty~"

"Raid... you mean looting?", Kari blinked owlishly from her position on the ground, now wide awake. She turned her head to look towards the dilapidated buildings. Only now did she notice that people were taking things from the store as they pleased. She grimaced at the idea, remembering that someone having their bags stolen had been what had gotten her into this mess in the first place. If she started stealing from the shops, she'd be no better than the greedy little monsters they'd spent so much time fighting.
"No thanks, I'll pass... stealing's what dragged me into this, and who knows... those police may reward us for our efforts in beating the shadowlings... I don't think they'd be too happy or giving if their saviors became looters", she explained, laying her head back down with the intent to take a nap again. "If you guys want to take what doesn't belong to you, feel free... but I'd rather earn my possessions."
"Besides...", she continued with a sheepish smile as she averted her eyes to try to hide how embarrassed she was to admit it, "...even if I wanted to loot this place... I think talking is all I can manage at the moment."

At last, with what seems like a small sigh, the oversized shadowling fades away, crumbling at the edges before it dissipates entirely, leaving something behind for the faintest of seconds -
- Something glowing a soft red, something-
- And then that was gone too.
A moment. One breath. A second. Nothing so far, and then, the barest moment of relief. Through the masses of shadowlings, shadowlings that left behind chaos but no evidence of even existing themselves, they had survived and emerged of victorious.
What can be defeated will only come back stronger-
-much, much later.

Apparently the animosity Yiska held for the werewolf was lost as she accepted the shirt and tugged it on in a spray of glitter. Anyone within 2 feet of the ghoul was going to sparkle just as much as she was.
Yes indeed. Best day ever! She got to duke it out with shadows, make friends, and get a glitter spam shirt! Oh yeaaa... it seemed she'd even forgotten why she needed the shirt to begin with. Ignorance was bliss in her case. A head tilt was given to Yiska's new... fashion with the price tag. "It's upside down." Yep, that was her only concern. She kind of wanted to reach up to fix it. She wasn't intending to take the hat, but likely the action wouldn't go over so well, but that's what the alp got for drawing attention to her hat. "Just a little bit off..." Nope, no malice or bad. She just wanted to fix it.

Hairwolf grinned, shooting Simply a thumbs up. Glittered covered him from head to toe, most of it settling in his hair. He didn't mind at all, however, it was nice to feel so radiant and shining.
"It looks great!"
The boil then watched curiously as the werefox adjusted another ghoul's hat. He didn't think the tag being upside down was so bad, made it unique! He frowned, tapping a finger against his lip in contemplation. No, Simply was just simply too bound by the rules and now it was up to him to fix it. He walked over to the two, his height making him tower a bit over both ghouls.
"No, no, you should leave it the other way," he argued, reaching out to flip it back upside down. "It's way cooler!"

Kat may have been down but she was not out. she was glad that the others managed to finish off the huge creature but couldn't help taking a annoyed swipe of the claws at a retreating shadowling as she growled. "At least we are still alive.." she muttered before taking a seat once more on the floor.

Billy and Estelle sagged with relief. After he'd been beaten to bits, hanging on by a thread, they'd all still managed to pull through and defeat the big bad shadow monster.

As the group rejoiced and friends rekindled after the battle, the rabbit boil smiled lightly from the happy scene before picking his bag off the floor with a soft sigh. The path to the exit was clear now that everyone had evacuated, so there was nothing left here for him to do. Young-Soo didn't have anyone to rejoice with. It had always been that way, and it would probably always be that way. The boil didn't care though. All he needed was his books and that was good enough for him. As he passed by the group, he gave a nonchalant wave to red panda ghoul. With a final smile towards the rest of the group, Young-Soo headed out the Maul without intention of coming back any time soon. Even so, the rabbit boil felt a slight kinship with everyone that helped saved the Maul today.

"Think...think I need to lie down," he said, staff desummoning with a puff of smoke. He looked as battered as he felt. He leaned leglessly against a broken and half-eaten fountain.

Gem gave Joe a concerned look.
"You think so?" he asked with a frown. Sometimes it was hard to tell when the dragon was being sarcastic or not. "I am hungry. There are no good rocks here. We should go back. This place is untidy." He had assumed civilisation would be slightly less..chaotic.
Even though the battle ended, Ixel sat there on a bench, surveying the surroundings briefly. Suspiciously. He made the brief observaton, noting it in his head, that some were still left.
But Ixel got the suspicion that they just werent coming back to the maul, so he needed to get to the exit, through the leftover shadowlings, to find out what was up.
That sounded like fun. :T

If the existence of a boil scared her, then Uru's "smile" completely unnerved her. Arynek felt like a prey being locked on, but Simply was too happy for the awesome ride to care about her. The poor ghoul liked she was gonna knocked down the next minute.
Thankfully, the boil she threw a shadow ball at before came to "help". The lovely glittering shirt drew the werefox's attention from the ride, she finally jumped off from the hellhound. The poor scared ghoul left out a puff while putting her hands on her chest. "T-Thank you..." She gave a shy smile to the Hairwolf.
She also noticed there were another ghoul Yiska around, so she made a compliment of her hat as a greeting. "Y-You've got a...a lovely hat." She gave a tender smile while blushing a little bit.

Despite the request to look after someone else, Pyxis knew he had one job, and that was to watch over Mister Radmutt as he championed the cause of 'make the things stop eating the other things'. Though he'd nodded reflexively to the commands, mouth slightly agape, he just followed the werewolf as he ran off, and kept staring at the spot where he'd probably return, until he finally did.
And shortly after the aforementioned return, the giant shadoweater fell, glowing remnants in its place. He froze, overflowing with amazement for the incredible.
For a while, he just jumped up and down in place, occasionally turning to Domino or Vi with a happy 'yaay, yaaay'. He couldn't forget their very best fighter, though - so he raced towards him and hopped up onto his back for a sloppy hug, sliding slowly towards the maul floor.
"You diiiiid it! You were right about punching specialties! I never doubted you, how could I doubt you, but you were riiiight! And then everyone smashed it right into the grown and poof glowing and you did it!"
