Natural Ability: Alps can naturally shapeshift into an animal, but they must choose between a cat, pig, dog, snake, or small white butterfly. They cannot change into one of these five at random; they must choose one form that they will have the rest of their natural lives, or the form will choose them. However, they must always wear their tarnkappe [hat] as they store their magic inside – if they are to lose their hat, they are unable to use their magic to turn back, and will reward anyone for the return of it.
Yiska’s natural form is that of a brownish black cat.
Personality: Yiska is friendly by nature, though she doesn’t speak using normal means. To her, others aren't worth her words; she communicates through attempting to talk with her hands by gesturing and the like, and if hands don't work, she'll turn to artwork. Yiska loves to draw, and will attempt to paint out her emotions on paper, but if someone doesn't get it she won't understand. It's right there - on paper. How could someone not see it?
Aside from that, Yiska loves to touch people to get their attention, and will more often than not be seen with either a sullen look, or grinning an almost Cheshire-like grin, making one possibly wonder what’s going on in that little head of hers.
Another of Yiska’s favorite things to do is listen to music. Music inspires dreams along with nightmares, and she will take any chance she can to listen to any kinds of music that she can.
Personal space isn't a problem with Yiska – to her personal boundaries don’t exist, and who cares if you’re uncomfortable? She’s pretty cute and she can try to make your day better?
If you all out ignore her, then she won’t be happy at all and try to give you nightmares as a sort of ‘revenge tactic’. Of course, the ‘honey attracting flies’ tactic doesn't really suit her, as she’s more of a mix between the ‘do unto others’ and ‘eye for an eye’ type.
The only thing Yiska really hates is for anyone to get near or even touch her hat. Her hat is sacred due to her holding her magic in it, and she will completely flip out if anyone even tries any funny business with her hat. Touching Yiska’s hat = bad. Very very bad.
For close friends, Yiska will go great lengths to do things for them, especially if they’re having trouble. She will also small talk with them, just because they've earned it. You made time for Yiska, so Yiska will make time for you! Her loyalty is unwavering unless someone drastically betrays her or flat out tells her that they don’t want to be friends anymore. If one isn't that drastic and just tells Yiska they need some space, she will most likely pout and give them a mediocre bad dream just in spite, but most likely regret it later if cornered about it.
It’s very rare to see Yiska ever sad, but if she has to deal with it she attempts to sleep it away. Dreaming helps get rid of things, right? Eventually she’ll have to deal with this in a different way, but for now, this is her only solace.
Regular antics include playing tricks on those she doesn't like by sneaking into their room through a crack in the door/hole in the wall/opening/etcetc, and sitting on their chest just to watch their face as she gives them nightmares. To her victim it feels as though a great weight is on their chest crushing them, but this could most likely be the feeling in the dream one is having, as Yiska is very lightweight for her stature.
Last but not least, Yiska has a darker side that her mother tried to help her overcome, but failed due to the nature of her father passed down to her. She secretly loves causing nightmares and delights in seeing people suffer, though on the surface she’ll seem like a normal innocent ghoul. For the most part she tries to keep this down for the sake of making friends/keeping good vibes with the family, but there's times where she just can't help but delight in causing suffering.
One thing that Yiska HATES is lemons, or anything having to do with lemons. She is terribly allergic, not to mention that it's a severe weakness to all Alps.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? To get an education at Amityville where her mother didn't, as well as control and/or channel her dark urges.
FEAR Ability: With her Evil Eye, Yiska can stare down upon someone [most often if they are sleeping] and cause nightmares/feed from their dreams. In battle this will work mostly as illusions, bringing into light the possible fears her opponent might have.
At Y2 she’ll be able to project illusions out of her headspace/hatspace, using them to attempt to communicate. Think Sandy from Rise of the Guardians. <3
