Returning to Azalea town, October didn't slow down her pace towards the pokemon center. She crashed into the front desk anxiously handing Kiru's pokeball to the nurse, while trying to explain what had happened. To say it was a mess of an explanation was an understatement, the girl had tried explaining about being chased by a wild pokemon who then began to attack but suddenly the days ordeal had gotten to her and before she knew it her body was shaking and she was full on sobbing. Tori watched silently as the nurse tried to calm her down and convince the girl to give the rest of their teammates up for a check up. It took a few minutes before she finally agreed and with a gentle nudge and soft smile asked to sit in the waiting room.

While Wei was mildly upset that Ohmarow had left her company, she hadn't really intended on traveling with another human, at least not for awhile. With parting aside, Wei quickly returned to the Pokemon Center to heal up her companions, leaving just as another girl had entered. No time for idle chit-chat with a fellow trainer, Wei made her way to the Ilex Forest to the west. There she could do a spot of training. It was likely she would only continue to be nagged, plus she would just end up needing to return him again when they were finished with this gym battle. Against her better judgement however, Scarlett released the zoroark again, allowing him to finish dusting himself off from their earlier venture, sending Damien out as well. "Let's go burn some bugs, shall we?" Scarlett suggested with a smirk, earning an disapproving look from Vandal. "If this is gonna be like the bloodbath in Violet, then I think I'll just wait out here." He insisted. "Daen't play tha high moral ground against me Vandal. Ya daen't have the reputation to make yer judgement credible," Scarlett snarked, "but ifn ya daen't have the stomach far an easy battle, then fine. Wait outside. I'll be back in a bit." She knew it was a mistake to release the zoroark again, but now she had other things to focus on, like getting her next badge.

Scarlett took her badge and TM before turning to Damien with a smile. "You hear that? He thinks you're pretty." Scarlett chuckled, rubbing the houndoom's head as he grumbled contentedly with the compliment. It would have been the first he'd really gotten on his coloring, and though he didn't think much of it, he'd take any compliment he got. With her badge in hand, Scarlett made her way out of the gym and called the charizard on her ride pager, intentionally ignoring Vandal's presence leaning against the wall next to her. "I'm surprised the gym isn't on fire." He suggested absently. "Will ya stop that?" Scarlett snapped. "I don't do overkill. I just want to get these gyms out of the way so I can move on to egg hunting. The next egg is supposed to be in Goldenrod City, and I couldn't face Whitney unless I beat Falkner and Bugsy first." She insisted. "Besides, you tell me what's mare cruel; drawing out a battle, beating them slowly but surely, are knocking them out in one shot and ending it quickly?" Vandal didn't answer, he seemed more focused on something else as he gave Scarlett a small smile. "You're arguing with me." Scarlett's eyes widened in bewilderment. When they made it into Azalea Town (and after Helmy-chan fought off yet another Stunky; apparently they liked to move in packs around these parts), Lucille made a bee line for the gym. But, much to her surprise, it wasn't open. She sighed, and wondered what she could do to kill the time. She thought about checking out some of the shops in the area, as the last time she did so, she got off with tons of goodies. Lemme just heck my wallet... She took a look, and found out that she was almost broke. Already? I thought I packed enough... She found a bench to sit on so she could pull out her laptop and check her bank balance. She'd been secretly saving her allowance for months, so surely she had something in there.
And she did, and quite a bit. But, it was locked down by her parents. Tch! I see! They think if I'm broke, I'll turn tail and come home! But they forgot about my secret weapon! With a pout on her face, she rummage back into her pack, and near the very bottom, pulled out her secret weapon: A trumpet. With Helmy-chan turned upside-down to work as a bowl, Lil Gena to dance around and be cute, and the laptop primed to play the accompaniment, Lucille was prepared to use her secret hidden skill. She took a deep breath, and played.

Lucille's first song went over well, as a modest crowd started to come and go, dropping coins and even whole bills into Helmy-chan. Her miasmic aura actually engulfed the money to keep the funds safe and secure inside, lest someone decided to try and grab up a handful on their way back out. When she finished Konzertetüde op.49, a generous amount of clapping was recieved, and the mute blushed and smiled. She'd always had fun playing music, and since she spent most of her days being home-schooled, she found plenty of time to practice. There was a pause as her laptop prepared a new track, which would be African Beat, which a much more joyful tune, albeit a much easier tune to play as well. I probably won't get as many people interest in this one...
As if Arcueus itself was answering her worry, a Houndour appeared from the bushes nearby, and got ready to attack the poor girl. Oh no! Um, Helmy-chan! Ask Lil Gena to use water gun on it! I'll keep playing! The message was relayed, and Lil Gena hopped into the battle. Because Lucille had to give her order in time to the beat of the music she was performing, the little gator's water gun shot off in sync with it as well, which started to bring over more people to watch the impromptu street fight/performance. With a flourish, Lil Gena shrugged off the ember that was fired off from the Houndour, and doused it in enough water to send the dog whining and running away. And right on time, as African Beat came to its end, to much applause. Lucille crouched down to check on Lil Gena; she seemed well enough, and snapped her jaws happily on her trainer's sleeve. Aw! I love you too, Gena! C'mon, let's play another song!

For their final song, Lucille decided that she would play her Yellow Flute this time around. Ever since that nice Minerva lady gave it to me, I've been meaning to play it. She fished it out of her bag, and after blowing a few nonsensical notes through it to make sure it works well. And then, she found a simple jazz accompaniment, and started to do some improvised jazz flute. It provided a very mellow, chill tune, which the crowd seemed to enjoy. Lil Gena wasn't too keen on the slower, calmer sound, and still tried to dance around in a more frantic fashion, which only made the mute smile during rests.
Helmy-chan alerted Lucille of a Sandile that was coming up behind her to attack, and the girl spun around, still playing, and was able to make a decent dodging sidestep out of the way, looking like she'd done it on purpose. Lil Gena stepped up to protect her trainer with a blast of water, which sent the Sandile back. It reared back for another attack and tackled the little gator, but clamped down on the foe's body for a direct hit from water gun. It was over pretty quickly, and Lucille finished out the song.
Once she was finished, she quickly tended to Lil Gena with a potion and a handkerchief to get the itchy sand off of her scales. Lil Gena made happy noises the whole time, and both were oblivious to the people dropping off change and money into Helmy-chan. "That was amazing, young lady!" Lucille looked up at the suited businessman that smiled down at her, and gave a smile and a nod. "You're very talented, where did you learn to play?" Lucille knew it was probably fruitless, but she attempted to sign for the man: I've been practicing since I was six. The businessman nodded and mouthed "Oh!" before going back into the rest of the crowd. "Hey, that young musician is one of those deaf-mutes! We should give her more money!" Lucille looked at the crowd, confused; Deaf-mute? I'm not- hey! Don't! A lot of the people came back to give more money, which made Lucille go red with embarrassment and frustration. Halfway during the pity charity, Lucille scooped up her stuff, grabbed Helmy-chan, and stormed off.
Making their way to Azalea Town, Natalia noticed that the locals were quick to steer clear of Natalia and the absol she was following. "You uh... Certainly seem to have an effect on people." Natalia suggested, earning a scoff from Ezio. ('That's because they know to fear me. There is power in utilizing fear.') Without Nyomii to translate, Natalia had a harder time understanding what Ezio was saying, but she could get a rough idea to some degree. She even heard faint whispers on the edge of her consciousness, giving him a voice. It was as her journal said, she could hear the voices of pokemon. It wasn't nearly as crystal clear as Nyomii's translation, in fact, Natalia didn't know if what she was hearing was accurate at all, but... It was better than nothing.
They soon approached the pokemon center, and Ezio jerked his head towards it with a grunt, ushering her in. ('Go on. Heal your weaklings.') Natalia frowned indignantly, but said nothing, eager to heal Nyomii and Blaze. She approached Nurse Joy, who watched the grimm absol outside warily until Natalia got her attention. Before long, Nyomii and Blaze were back to full health, and Nyomii quickly released herself. "Oh Natalia, dear, I'm so glad you're unharmed! What happened? Where is that ruffian?! I demand a rematch!" Her pristine white fur stood on end as she caught sight of the absol outside the center. ('Are you really stupid enough to fight me again? It will only end in the same result; getting knocked down before you can even attack.') Ezio sneered. "Please Nyomii, he let me go... I don't think he intends to do anything." Nyomii looked shocked that Natalia was defending that.... Monster, but then again, part of her knew better, give how Natalia had initially acted upon finding Ezio here. ('Listen to the girl. She's being smart, for once.') He stood. ('Eat and rest up. You'll need your strength for Bugsy.') He insisted, before skulking off into the shadows and disappearing once more. "My word! What an awful creature. Good riddance. I hope we never see him again." Nyomii huffed. Natalia however, seemed unsure. "I don't know... I think he's.... Helping us? Or trying to.... In his own way." Natalia observed. "Well I wouldn't hold my breath. That mangy mutt has been nothing but trouble since you rescued him from those rangers. Destroying Nurse Joy's equipment, picking fights with Aiden's jolteon, not to mention every other pokemon or person that so much as looks at him funny. He's a bully, that's what." Nyomii insisted. Natalia let her vent, but she just had a hard time believing it was true. If he really was as terrible as she claimed, he wouldn't have let them live. One well placed swipe and he could have killed her if he really wanted to, but he didn't, and he seemed to be guiding them somehow. Why, she didn't know, but she just didn't feel like he really had bad intentions, as rough and mean as he was.

Nyomii insisted loudly, hoping her telepathy would still reach Ezio, wherever he was. He had a type advantage on her and that was the only reason he'd won, or that was what Nyomii had convinced herself of. "Fire types on the other hand...." Nyomii relented, looking to Natalia to see if she saw where this was going. Natalia nodded. "Right. Let's check on Blaze then." Sending the quilava out, Blaze straightened up and looked around for any signs of Ezio. ('Where is he? Lemme at em!') Natalia chuckled. "Goodness... Both of you need to settle down. Save that fighting spirit for the match against Bugsy." Natalia insisted. Blaze frowned, not really agreeing with the priority, but she could get behind another gym battle. If anything, it would make her stronger, and if she was stronger, she could fight that a*****e of an absol and take him out.
Seeing Blaze's determined expression was enough for her. "Alright then, let's get moving." Nyomii tilted her head. "Don't you want to eat something first?" Natalia shook her head. "I'm not really hungry yet, but if you want to eat—""No, no I'm fine... But we could always go to the cafeteria and pack some food ahead of time for that picnic in Ilex that we talked about~" Nyomii offered. "Oh! Good idea. I'm sure another gym battle will work up our appetites, and then I can sketch you while we eat~" Nyomii nodded in agreement. "Sounds like a plan."('But what if I'm hungry now?') Blaze whined. "If you want to eat now, I won't stop you." Natalia insisted. ('Wait, I have to choose???') Natalia laughed and pat the quilava's head. "I'll pack a second lunch, just for you." She insisted. ('Awww yeah! You're the best Nat!') Blaze wiggled happily, rubbing her head against Natalia's leg before running off to the cafeteria with them. She helped herself to a pile of berries while Natalia packed herself a sandwich and some berries and pokefood for the others. When she had finished packing and Blaze was finished eating, they left for the gym.
Inside, Natalia felt the same familiarity as she had in Falkner's gym. The giant mechanical spinarak were probably hard to forget, she supposed. She used them to maneuver her way across the gym until she found a purple haired boy. "Um, excuse me, we're looking for bugsy?" The boy turned to Natalia and grinned. "Yup! That's me!" Natalia tilted her head, looking the boy over again. He was... Younger, than she had expected. "Now now, staring is rude Natalia." Nyomii chided. "Oh! Uh... Right, well.... I'm here for a gym battle.""Of course! Let's get started th--wait... Haven't we.... Met before?" He tilted his head curiously. "Well... Y-yes.... I um.... Started my gym challenge but then I er... Lost my badges, so I decided to just start over.""Ohh... I see. Well I guess try to be more careful next time!" He suggested with a grin, making Natalia feel.... Embarassed? Irritated? Both? It wasn't a matter of being careful! She didn't lose them in the traditional sense, and it was annoying to feel like this child felt like he knew better than her. "Y-yeah.... Natalia gave a light sigh of relief as the battle ended. Somehow, she had thought that would be a lot harder. "Wow! Your quilava is a lot stronger since we last fought! She actually lasted the whole match this time~" That was a backhanded compliment if Natalia had ever heard one, but Bugsy was saying it so happily that she had a hard time believing that he actually meant it with any malice. Natalia opened her mouth to ask if Blaze had been knocked out last time, but then thought better of it. "Yeah, we've gotten stronger." Natalia suggested, figuring that was the safest comment to make. "I'll say, but what's your plan for Whitney?" Bugsy asked innocently and Natalia shrugged. "I don't.... Really have one. I just figure I'll trust my team." Bugsy nodded. "Trust is important of course! But... As a trainer, it's our job to command our pokemon to victory and have a strategy. After all, like I said last time we battled, you can't just rely on type matchups, and it doesn't really seem like you've learned that lesson yet...." He suggested carefully, and Natalia frowned. "She'll keep that in mind. Thank you Bugsy." Nyomii insisted before Natalia could argue any more.
Taking her badge and TM, Natalia made her way out of the gym. "He's only trying to help. That's what gym leaders are supposed to do. You shouldn't be mad at him for that." Nyomii insisted. "He is right after all, we aren't going to be able to rely on type advantages against Whitney. We'll have to come up with some other strategy." Nyomii insisted. "I never planned on using type advantages forever, it just made this battle easier and I wanted to catch up quickly. Plus he's just a kid! What does he know?" Natalia scoffed, crossing her arms. ('Yeah! He's just mad cause I kicked butt.') Blaze insisted proudly. "Heck yeah you did. Did you hear him? 'Oh she actually lasted this time!' What kind of complement is that?" She scoffed.
Nyomii shook her head at the two. "Bugsy is young, and so he can sometimes say things that come off poorly, but he doesn't intend to. He's a bright young man, a protoge when it comes to battling and strategy. Don't think less of him because of his age. Had he used his real team, we wouldn't have stood a chance." Natalia still huffed irritably. "Fine. I'll keep his advice in mind. So why won't type advantages work against Whitney?" She asked. "Well, for one, most people assume they can use ghost types against her so that her normal type pokemon can't land a hit, but her pokemon can use other types of moves to get around that, and her infamous miltank has the scrappy ability, which lets it hit ghosts with normal and fighting moves. Also, we don't have a fighting type in our team anymore, because we lost Cynthia to the time warp." Nyomii suggested. "Cynthia.... Was the mega lopunny right?" Nyomii nodded. "Besides, even if we did have her, Whitney is really strong. This is where your gym battles are going to start challenging you more."
