The name's Scarlett Devlin, but that's Miss Fortune to you. I'm a rebel without a cause and with all these feminine charms, I think it's pretty obvious I'm Female, I suppose I prefer men but there aren't many who keep my interest for long, so boys, get a good look while you can. I've got some pretty bright Red Hair like my Irish Blood, and it's au natural. They didn't name me Scarlett for nothin' hun. My eye color is Gold, which is probably my favorite thing in the whole world too, but Diamonds are always a girl's best friend. If you were as perceptive as I am, you'd also probably note that I’m Five Feet and Ten Inches tall. I was born August 2nd about Twenty Five years ago, and I weigh One Hundred and Seventy pounds, though that doesn't include the two fully loaded pistols on my belt~
Personality wise I'm pretty Laid Back, but Arceus help the people who happen to get on my Bad Side. Some might say I'm a Flirt, and they'd be right. I don't take relationships seriously, I see a good hunk of man and I'll play the love game for a little while, but I rarely stick around for long. I'm a sucker for Attention and Gifts, spending a pretty penny on me will get you farther than most. More often than not I'll use my charms to steal any glimmering Treasures that I think are worthwhile, then Rob You Blind in the blink of an eye. I'm a pretty good Pickpocket myself, but when blows come to blows, I don't mind getting my Hands Dirty. If I need to use Brute Force to get my way, I'll do it without hesitation, even with a smile on my face. I'm kind of into Antiques as well, things don't have to be shiny to be worth something, there's value in artifacts too. I consider myself to be a bit of an Archeologist, though I never got a degree or anything, I know my stuff. After all, you have know what you're selling in order to get anywhere in the Black Market, or people will try to rip you off. It's a nice bartering tool if I do say so myself.
Scarlett grew up in a world where myths and legends were very real. She never knew her mother, who died from complications with Scarlett's birth. Her Father, an esteemed Archeologist and sailor by the name of Sean Devlin, took very good care of her though. When Scarlett was still too young to travel, she was fostered under the Ampere family, close friends of her father and mother. They lived in Canalave City, Sinnoh, and had a son just a year older than Scarlett named Skye. The two grew up together like siblings, fishing on the docks of the city and sailing in small makeshift rowboats until Sean returned from his travels and was able to care for Scarlett himself for a time before he needed to travel again. As soon as she was old enough though, Scarlett sailed with Sean, and was taken along to dig sites with him as he delved deep back into his archeological studies. He was always fanatical with his research, but this time was different. He wanted to find a way to bring Scarlett's mother back, or to prevent the complications in the first place. He never blamed Scarlett for it, he loved his little girl with all of his heart, but Sean believed that by researching the ancient legendary pokemon of lore, he could keep them both. He filled Scarlett's mind with wondrous tales and legends, and she always thought that they could find something in the ancient rubble.
Unfortunately, on the brink of Sean's latest and greatest discovery, Scarlett was left with the Amperes once more, and Sean never returned. He had been exploring a mysterious tower that had appeared in the Hoenn Desert. Knowing it was unstable, he had left Scarlett behind and out of harms way, but the tower had collapsed with Sean still within. Scarlett was only 13 years old. The Amperes, being the only sort of family Scarlett had left, took care of her for a time, but Scarlett could only stand their hospitality for so long. She felt like she was suffocating slowly, and needed to get out again in order to grieve properly for her father's loss. Eventually there came an agreement with the executor of her father's will; if Scarlett became a pokemon trainer, since she was of age, she would be allowed to travel on her own and claim ownership of all her father's possessions. She agreed, however, within a week Scarlett had taken her father's ship, moved her possessions onto it, and took to the sea, armed with money, artifacts, and some of her father's pokemon. She lived luxuriously, reading through her father's library of archeological books, but eventually there would come a time when Scarlett needed more money.
She refused to sell any of her father's prized possessions, nor would she rely on the Amperes for more help. Her pride would not allow it, and though she had somewhat become a pokemon trainer as promised, battling with her father's pokemon and capturing a few of her own, but she hadn't earned any money from wild pokemon at sea. She was young, there was little work for her, and as much as she wanted to become an archeologist, she had no schooling. Throwing her father's name around wouldn't work either, for one she wasn't her father, and for two, Sean had ruined his reputation chasing after fairy tales. Crazy, they called him, and Scarlett was sick of it all. For a while, Scarlett dealt with some shady, unsavory jobs using her looks, but eventually the red haired rebel turned to pirating. First, she pick pocketed in the city streets until she attempted to steal from the wrong person, Cassandra, somewhat of an expert thief herself. Somehow, Scarlett's pluck and defiance managed to win the older woman over, and she took Scarlett under her wing, teaching her everything she knew.
Eventually, Scarlett was dealing in the black market, a long ways away from stealing spare change and cigarette lighters. She specifically started to target archaeologists who'd slandered her father's name, taking jobs that coincided with her interests in making them pay. She stole their findings from museums, burst into their homes with her pokemon and stole jewelry, money, art, and anything valuable. Most of it was sold on the black market, some of it she kept for herself, such as pretty rings and necklaces that she fancied, or a fossil. When she wasn't plundering, she was traveling and researching ancient lore. She was still ever fascinated by the tales and legends surrounding ancient and powerful pokemon, and though she was afraid to try and do something as big as resurrect her father from the dead, she did want to clear his name in history. She wanted to prove that he wasn't crazy. Scarlett has made quite the name for herself as well however, many know her by her alias; Miss Fortune.

Secrets:
-Scarlett surprisingly didn't make the alias "Miss Fortune" herself. She takes all the credit, but in truth she heard others mention it in the Black Market and rather liked the title. The play on words is a fitting characteristic of how two faced she really can be, like the flip of a coin. It also can be read two ways, a fortuitous person of whom good luck follows, or a dangerous person who brings misfortune to herself and those around her. Not to mention, Scarlett's Surname is Devlin, which is based on an Irish term for "unlucky"
-Scarlett has freckles, but she often covers them up with makeup when she's running around as Miss Fortune. When she dresses down in casual clothing and blends in for a bit, then she doesn't bother.
-Though she can only fluently speak three languages, she can read and understand many more, even if she can't actively participate in a conversation. Most of her language studies however are focused in ancient and/or dead languages such as unown, footprint runes, or hieroglyphics.
-She's exceptional at playing the violin, as well as fiddling, though she won't generally play anywhere else other than on her ship where no one but her pokemon can bear witness.
Quirks:
-Always carries her "Lucky Doubloon" that her Father gave her, and will sometimes use it to make decisions via a flip after naming heads and tails.
-Scarlett has a light Scottish and south Irish accent mix. Her eye twitches when she's pissed off, and her accent gets a lot thicker.
-Scarlett likes to practice parkour, it helps make her getaways easier, not to mention it keeps her in shape and gives her the ability to use any environment to her advantage in a fight.
-She has two customized Pistols, affectionately named Loraine and Roxanne. They look like antiques but they shoot just as well as a modern pistol.
-Her fondness of languages shows in the fact that she has memorized a variety of accents for her own personal use. Though her actual accent is Scottish-Irish.
-Don't ever compare Scarlett to Team Aqua, at least not verbally while she's around. Though she shares a love of the sea and taste in clothing attire, she thinks Team Aqua is full of idiots, and she hates it when people automatically assume that because she's a pirate, she's part of them.
-If you badmouth her father, whether she's around or not, she will find you and make you wish you hadn't.

Roxas is, in short, a rebellious punk of a girl. She speaks bluntly, and does what she wants, when she wants it. She doesn't see the point of beating around the bush or sugarcoating things, and she respects when people are blunt and honest with her in return. She just wants people to be real with her, and has difficulty relating to other people given her reclusive childhood and condition because she is always regarded with sympathy and careful treatment when people find out her disability. In spite of her abrasive personality, she's actually pretty protective of her pokemon and the people she likes, but she's also the type of person who would state that she alone can abuse those same people, and she'll punch anyone she sees doing the same. Other people tend to piss her off pretty easily, so she's not exactly the most social person, which makes her cover up profession of DJing a seemingly odd choice, but rave parties and music is her element. She's quick to pump up a crowd and is quite enthusiastic about her music in her own way. She loves learning about new things, and enjoys tinkering with her robotic pokemon to unlock their full potential. She feels the need to keep herself busy constantly, which means she will often seek out some form of entertainment, which means she'll find any excuse to bother a complete stranger for a battle to test something out.

Growing up in Snowpoint City was difficult for Roxas, given that her immune system was never quite up to the task of keeping her healthy in intense cold. Since she was always getting sick with fever and flu, she had to stay at home, constantly indoors and taking all of her classes online because her parents were too busy to homeschool her. While she enjoyed sitting around in the dark working on her computer, and didn't much care about having a social life, she still did wish she could experience the outside world first hand. Everything she ever wanted to know was right there for her to find at her fingertips, but reading about something and watching videos were never quite the same thing as living it herself. At such a young age though, she didn't have much of a choice. Technology became her mentor, she knew electronics inside and out, played video games, listened to music, made remixes and some of her own songs using computer programs, and made a hobby out of taking machines apart and putting them back together, as well as cracking codes and bypassing firewalls just for fun. Eventually when she was older and strong enough, she frequently snuck out at night to go to dance parties and volunteer as a DJ to broadcast her music. She even had people paying her for her services, something she kept secret from her parents so that they would still support her financially. It wasn't like it was hard, given that her parents had little regard for what she did on her own time. They much preferred to pretend she didn't exist and were willing to pay off whatever it cost to keep her alive and happy in her nest. The only reason they didn't kick her out or put her up for adoption was because they had more than enough money to spend on her and she was born handicapped, so they felt they should at least take the responsibility of raising her. Roxas has HSAN2, in other words, she has a hard time feeling pain, temperature difference, or really anything physically to the touch. Roxas was strangely fond of her disability, liking how it was interesting and made her unique, though she acknowledges that it can be a problem when she doesn't know something's scalding hot or ice cold, or when she's hurt (if it's not obvious) until she's done irreversible damage to her body.
So her parents took good care of her, payed her hospital bills, made sure she fed herself and learned all the right school subjects, but Roxas knew that her condition would only get her so far with her parents. She was their kin and they would feel obligated to take care of her until she was officially considered an adult, but then she would be forced to figure it out on her own. So when Roxas turned sixteen, getting cut off from her family's generosity and shooed into the great wide world came as no real surprise. Her expensive hobbies were starting to cause a strain on their funds, she needed to learn to live on her own because they weren't going to be there for her forever, she needed to learn the value of money and hard work.... The lecturing went on and on until she agreed to take the first train out of Snowpoint, and wound up in Unova with nothing but some furnishings from her old room. Since she didn't have a trainer's license or any pokemon, she had to find an apartment in Castelia City to use instead of the Pokemon Center. Paying rent for the apartment wasn't cheap, but thankfully Roxas already had some money set aside from her "business", and even that had been just a hobby at the time, child's play when she felt like suckering anyone who knew how to contact her to pay more money than she thought the work was worth. If she actually buckled down and used it as a source of income, she was certain she would be able to make more than a decent living for herself. Unfortunately at first, business was slow since she wasn't exactly well known, but she got two temporary jobs, a waitress during the day and DJing at night, to help fill in gaps between programming orders. It was a hard, cramped lifestyle at first, but it was all she had to live off of, so she made the most of it.
To help make life a little easier while she waited to gain more clientele, Roxas aimed to become a waitress at the Striaton Gym. Becoming a waitress there made things a bit more interesting because she could battle the people she served, and it payed better too, but she needed a pokemon. Roxas started setting money aside for pokeballs, figuring her best bet was to go capture something and train it, but one day when she was taking out garbage for her restaurant, she spotted something strange in the dump, a tiny robotic rabbit, a pokemon called Cybun. It was dirty and deactivated, but one person's trash was Roxas' treasure. She took the robot back home with her and used the money she had been saving to do the necessary repairs and buy a few gems to power it back up. With some training and tweaking, it was running like a well oiled machine in no time, and she was hired at to fight customers at the gym. Eventually, their story spread quickly, faster that she could code, program, and repair tech. She frequently got requests on the shadier side, big corporations trying to hinder their competition, secret underground businesses trying to stay secret, people who wanted their public records erased, guarded files stolen. Roxas did it all with little regard to the morality of who she was hurting as long as her customers paid her price. She needed the money after all.
Now that she was getting a steady stream of income, and she could work on the go, Roxas decided it was finally time to try and travel and experience all the things in life she had only seen on the other side of a screen, so she packed up her equipment, and made her way towards Nuvema Town to register herself for the pokemon league challenge.
