Tethys has been talking about "daily rituals" from various cultures with the students. What is one of your student's daily rituals? Do they recognize that it's a ritual? If they don't think they have any daily rituals, have them explain why.

Write a 100 word minimum response from the perspective of your student answering Tethys' question

Prompt Response:

Rune’s daily ritual was a bit morbid but at the same time he considered it important. When the teacher asked for a ritual, he knew that was the one he would talk about.
“So everyday obviously I wake up and eat breakfast but during the day I don’t see my family that often. They either are getting ready to go out and go shopping or going to school or university and it’s a good chance that I won’t see them for the rest of the day. I know that tons of things happen and it might be the last time I see them so it’s my ritual, to make sure that before I leave to give my family all hugs and tell them how much they mean to me. Just in case you know one day one of them or I don’t come home. “ He answered.

With new races appearing at what appears to be on a somewhat regular basis, the topic of cultural assimilation has been a popular one. Should new races assimilate to match the rest of the world if their beliefs are drastically different? Is it possible to have people exist in harmony even with clashing belief systems? Your student is encouraged to use examples in their response.

Write a 100 word minimum response from the perspective of your student answering Tethys' questions

Prompt Response: Litah shook his head at the questions, eager for it to be his turn. "I am a goblin from the above. surely my cultural beliefs are different than those from the below. However, I don't see any reason to need to change. Why should any one culture, religion, or belief system force another to not exist when no one really knows what the truth is. We have to all learn to agree to disagree as my mother would say. We couldn't force anyone to stop believing in something, and if they truly believed it we, of course, couldn't make them even if we tried. Even if every race banned together to stop one races belief, however silly that belief may seem, it would do nothing but alienate races into hate and could start another war. I think that is something no one needs." After his long-winded speech, he looked around the room trying his best to read the emotions on the others faces.

Prompt Response:

Hanging out with her sisters was the closest thing Yuna had to a daily ritual. The three were nigh inseparable, and even when they were grounded or forbidden to leave the house, the three always found a way their way in to trouble. They were crafty in that respect. They had some unspeakable bound that nobody could break. Being away from each other for even a day was almost painful ... did their hang outs count as a daily ritual? Yuna figured so. Maybe it was best to write that down and let the teacher decide if that was something their considered one or not.

Maeva had to stop and thinking. Did he have daily routines? She was sure she did. Daily routines helped to structure her daily life, and aided him in being more nurturing, which was a trait she significantly lacked. If there was anything in particular that she did on a semi-frequent bases, it was spending time with her family. Cooking especially had become something the girl quite enjoyed.

"I love cooking dinner with my moms. Does that ocunt as a daily ritual? I try to do it every night if I can." Maeva perked right up, eyes scanning the room to see if anyone noticed her confidence, as if it had carried enough to be heard. Due to the lack of acknowledgement or eyes on her as she looked around the room, Maeva supposed not.

Prompt Response: User Image Aelius Jr listened to the teacher and then thought about daily rituals he tried to think of what he should say. "Well umm, I guess brushing my teeth and hair, reading magic books with my mommy and daddy." Aelius wasn't sure what else to say he sat down at his desk trying to think of some other daily rituals and he really couldn't think of anything. He sighed and started doodling in his notebook. What else did Aelius do every day he laid his head down on his desk and fell asleep till the end of class. His horns a little in the way.

Prompt Response: User Image Treat wasn't really sure how he felt about cultural assimilation, he wrote down "Since my brother and I were left by out parents and raised in the orphanage I guess we were always just part of every culture, not just the parts that make up our hybrid nature. So I guess we kinda just naturally assimilated living with all the different races in the below. " He hoped that was alright he sighed the below was really a melting pot and he liked it that way he then wrote. "Though the idea of forcing others seems really bad and unfair so there is that I guess."

Prompt Response: User Image Enju thought that making other races fit in was wrong, he liked being a hallowed hybrid and would hate it if that wasn't a thing since he liked who he was. "I don't think new races should have to fit in with everyone else since every other race has come in growing pains and all we come together and get along pretty well just being ourselves and then there are lots of wonderful hybrid kids like me and my siblings." Enju blushed and looked at the rest of the class and then down at his feet. Enju shuffled his feet and then took his seat again.

Prompt Response:

Jango had many daily rituals. It all started with his hair. He would spend at least an hour brushing and braiding his hair to look just right. After his hair looked pristine and silky, Jango would move on to his make-up. Then he'd move on to his outfit. His hair, of course, always took the longest time, but Jango always took pride in his appearance. Perhaps the shy, timid boy was a bit more vain then he let on. It wasn't for other people, but for himself. Then, when all was said and done, Jango would head off to school. If only it weren't for the kids that harassed Jango on a nigh consistent basis. Sometimes it felt like his daily rituals were all for nothing when the bullies at school would corner him and whail on him.

Maybe with time it would stop ...

Prompt Response: Daily rituals? Did brushing his teeth count? There wasn't any particular activity that Freddie did on a daily basis that he considered to be a ritual. Unless sleeping and eating counted ... but he doubted that. Those things were just normal functions that everybody had. You needed to sleep. You needed to eat. And while you don't NEED to brush your teeth you really, really, should. Otherwise you'd have stinky breath. And nobody wants to sit close to you in class if you have stinky breath.

If Freddie had to guess one daily ritual he had, he supposed it would be his personal project, and creating more materials for his pranks. They were different projects each and every day ... but ... they probably counted at least a little, right?

Prompt Response:

Elysia screwed up her face as she thought. As other people answered, she struggled to think of something unique. Something as obvious as chores or steps to getting ready for the day seemed too obvious and weren't really personal daily rituals. However, there was one thing that she couldn't go to bed at night without doing. Every night, she needed to ready at least one chapter of her favorite book series. Sure, sometimes she needed help with words from an adult the next day, but it always relaxed her. She supposed that counted as a ritual, right? She quickly scribbled down her answer, then handed it to the teacher.

Prompt Response:

Tsvetan paused. It was a tricky question to be sure. Being extremely individualistic, he immediately recoiled at the idea of assimilation. "Everyone deserves to be who and what they want, and what they are. If we were all the same, the world would be boring and dull and no one would be memorable." He frowned deeply. "As long as it's not hurting anyone, I don't think new races should be forced to do anything. What business is it of mine if my Fallen friend worships the Nine even if I don't? Something like religion is too personal to be regulated and definitely shouldn't be."

Prompt Response: Daily rituals… daily rituals… what was a daily ritual anyway? It sounded so foreign to Kean. Were they somewhat like patterns? He knew patterns! Or at least stuff like color and number patterns… though he was told that patterns were in what a little demon like himself did too. Like… taking a bath everyday… maybe. And getting dressed every day, eating breakfast… hugging his kitten plush… saying good by to his parents. He did a lot of the same stuff every day, were those ‘daily rituals’? He decided that those were probably it, but he wasn’t too sure. After all, those were all just normal things most other little demons like him did. Rituals sounded different.

Prompt Response:
Rituals? Billie tipped their head considering what could be a daily ritual. They brushed their teeth when they woke and before they went to bed. They had meals with their mama at home and with friends at school. They got to pick out their clothes and got dressed by themselves and took a bath before bed and mama would help them with their hair. They went to school and they went to class and they did homework and doodled when bored.

Every week though, mama tried to make time for them to watch a movie together and they would cuddle on the couch. And there was popcorn. Perhaps that counted? They wrote it down deciding that it must count.

Prompt Response: A daily ritual? Hmmm, thought Georgette, what would be a daily ritual for him? Well there’s getting up for school every day, having breakfast, taking a shower, brushing his teeth, hair and tail. Those are things that everyone does though. He also polishes/lotions his horn and uses a pick to keep his hooves strong. That’s a daily ritual for him. What else? He sets up his backpack by his bedroom door each night and makes his lunch for school the night before. He hangs out what clothes he’ll wear the next day on the back of his bedroom door. He also reads a few chapters of whatever he’s currently reading each night before bed. Those could all be considered rituals.

Prompt Response: ”Oh! This one’s easy!” Lilly whispered excitedly to herself. She knew what her daily rituals were! After all, she did them every day! She would wake up and usually, she would yawn. If it was a school day, she would rush to shower and apply her cream. She didn’t want to get an icky fungus, after all! Once she was finished, she would speed all the way to breakfast because she loved to eat. And, if she could get away with it, she’d try to eat outdoors, so she could soak in as much of the sunlight as she could. Then, of course, was the boring classes. Lunch! More boring classes… Dinner! And then, nighty night time. Naturally, the only most important daily rituals were the eating parts of the day. Why wouldn’t they be!?
