Joy Ann frowned at the paper the bandit handed her, not sure if this was meant to be a joke or what. That was all they had, and this was supposed to be a code?
She stared at the alphabet at the top and then at the four boxes with numbers. Holding the paper up to the light, she realized there had possibly been something else written then erased on it... But still, it didn't explain much. In fact, it only made it more confusing.
"Ih..." Why was she bothering to try to speak? Never mind. Joy Ann shrugged and wrote four letters in each of the boxes, hoping it would mean more to the bandits than it meant to her.
She handed the paper back to the bandit and then waited, wondering if they were going to give her anything or just tell her she was free to go. At least it was reassuring to hear that they were as clueless as she felt at the moment. It was all just about fuddling on to survive, wasn't it.
