He's a very interesting character...but I don't trust him. I don't know why.

John was always one of the most interesting characters, with his ability to speak with the island and whatnot. I hated him for a long time though, since Boone died because of him.
He's back to being one of my favorites now though. He and his spirituality are too cool to hate.

Seredic Did you know that there actually was a John Locke? He lived from 1632 to 1704. I went to the webstite at, http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/locke/ and looked up his name. He was a philosopher and the site said "For the individual, Locke wants each of us to use reason to search after truth rather than simply accept the opinion of authorities or be subject to superstition." And then "His monumental Essay Concerning Human Understanding aims to determine the limits of human understanding," from http://oregonstate.edu/instruct/phl302/philosophers/locke.html Doesn't that sound like Locke? Do you think the producers did this on purpose? This most certainly was not a coincidence. You notice as the show goes on, the producers turn things we once never thought of again into something huge. The name John Locke was definitely given to him as a symbol of his character. Locke is a philosopher of sorts on the show. The producers do love to make us think. He needs to calm down? No no no. I wouldn't say that at all, Kairasa. Jack only bosses people around because of his own insecurities. John also has his problems, but he isn't such a...dictator. That's why they clash so severely. I think if they could make peace with each other, they'd be able to solve a lot of issues with everyone else. But then, the show wouldn't be as grasping, would it? John Locke is my favorite character, for those of you who might have guessed this and were wanting to know how right you were. I don't resent him for Boone's death. He was involved, but ultimately didn't cause it. That was the 9.81 N of force gravity pulls, and Boone's fault for putting himself into some obvious danger on a static-y radio. Besides, when Boone made the plane fall, it led to some new discoveries into Echo's past.

I kinda not like him. To me, he's kinda... weird? or odd? or something...
He's background is kinda, mysterious to me. I don't understand him much.

I have a problem with Locke. I re-watch episodes from season one and even three and think 'What a cool guy!" Orange smile ^-^ awesome. But then he goes and does something like throwing Mikhail into the sonar fence, or knocking Mikhail unconcious or rubbing it in Mikhail's face that he nagged Ben into taking him to see Jacob or turning on his flashlight in Jacob's house. I mean, come on! It makes it very hard to like him. I cheered when he got shot ^-^, just cause I knew he'd be back after an episode or so. Still, Ben has issues. If I felt threatened enough to shoot someone, I'd be sure they were dead, that means BLOW THE HEAD OFF. The to tell John to 'do what he needs to do'. my reply would have been "Excuse me, weren't you the one who shot me an episode and a half ago? Yeah, shut up." But John can do whatever I guess -_-.
Mikhail Bakkunin was a philosopher as well if anyone is going to keep count.

Hahaha, you and Mikhail. Well, I thought that Locke throwing Mikhail in the fence was great. Then it turns to him, and he says, "Oops." Hahaha, Locke = Awesome.

Can't pass the pirate pirate . I'd have enjoyed it more if five seconds beforehand I hadn't had the thought 'Hmm, Ben might die soon, this guy is a good back up!' then BZZZT, I thought I was cursed sweatdrop . Locke is always putting out sarcastic comments like that, he's pretty cool.

He's got the second best lines next to the puppet-master himself, Ben. Plus, if you here him apologize or say 'oops'... duck cause... John blew something up again.
