We got involved in a bit of an informal IC discussion in the main common area today. Nereida met Aurion and Iris! And she didn't like one of 'em very much. We need to work on her manners!

Red is Silverah and Nerieda, Blue is Aurion, Purple is Iris.

Silverah: *carries Nereida in and puts her down* Now, say 'Hi' to everyone.

Nereida: *hides behind Silverah*

Silverah: Oy.

Aurion glimpses at the tiny fae hiding away. " How cute. I have never seen a fae quite like that one before."

Silverah shrugs. "She's new. And rather frightened. Darsais and I spent the entire morning on the floor trying to convince her to stop rocking back and forth singing."

Aurion smiled softly. " Its quite a shock being reborn into an unfamiliar would. I guess I was just odd when I came out of my jar, because I immediately clung to my guardian. I am sure she will warm up to people the more she gets used to them." He said then knelt down to become eye level with Nereida. " Its alright young one, I am just like you."

Nereida shrinks back behind Silverah's leg and replies in her whispery sea-like voice, "Nuh-uh." She points to the fins on her head. "You don't have fins."

Silverah looks down at her charge in surprise. That's the longest sentence she's said all day!

Iris arrives running when she sees to Aurion and Nereida and stop " hello I'm Iris , you are a friend of my sister Nalani nop " she says while points with a finger to Aurion "and you, I don't know you" she says with curiosity looking at Nereida.

Aurion chuckled. " You are right young lady, but we were born the same way and are still both fae no matter what we may look like." Aurion said with a smile and then turned to Silverah. " I guess I am just good with people." he said to her. As Iris approached him he smiled. " Hello Iris, aren't you just a pretty young lady. Your sister has mentioned you to me a few times."

Nereida shied away from Isis. She was just starting to think Aurion was okay, and then this loud new girl ran up. How fair was that.

"Mommy," she whispers, tugging Silverah's hand, "I want to go home."

Silverah smiles kindly down at her charge. "Why don't you stay a little longer? I think Aurion was enjoying talking to you."

Aurion nodded. " I was very much so." He told Silverah as he smiled down at Nereida.

Nereida smiles shyly back. "Okay..." she says, and then points to Iris. "But only if she stops being so loud."

"That's not very polite," Silverah informs her.

Iris smiles to Aurion," I want my sister a lot" then she listens Nereida and gets angry a little " I don't loud, you are silly! " she crosses her arms in her chest and her puts bad face.

"Silly?" Nereida echoes, shrinking further back behind Silverah's legs. "Moooom, I wanna go home."

"now you are a baby-mommy a silly baby-mommy" Iris giggle and grimace Nereida

Nereida asks exactly what Silveraah had been wondering.

"W-w-w-what's a Baby-Mommy?"

It seems Silverah is not the only one having trouble understanding this hyperactive fae child.

"as mammy's girl but you are a baby, now only you need cry "mommyyyyyy" she is mad " she makes a grimace and crosses her hands " I only said hello and you insult me "

Nereida does something completely unexpected - she hisses, showing off a row of surprisingly sharp baby teeth. Silverah, realizing the situation is quickly deteriorating, hurries to restrain her.

"I s-s-s-said you were l-l-loud!" Nereida snaps. "Issat an insult? An' I'm not a baby-mommy!"

"if you aren't a baby-mommy I am not loud" she says seriously without scaring her the Nereida's teeth "me alone wanted to know you and maybe to invite you to my pool " she says dryly and uncannily her eyes are cold as the ice.

"Don't like pools," Nereida says matter-of-factly. "Poolssare bitter and m-m-make my eyes hurt." She doesn't know how she knows this, just that she does.

Iris stays thinking a moment making amusing face and with a finger in her cheek, she usually isn't mad a lot of time. "that should be the chlorine of the pools, but you like the beach, don't you?"Iris looks sincerely at Nereida and he finds to see fins, a sign of her to be marine.

"The beach?" Nereida asks. Her eyes light up in joy. "I love the beach. We live near the beach. I can see the ocean from my bedroom."

"coolllll I like the beach but I can't see the ocean from my bedroom" Iris smiles charmingly, it seems to be that she is not so bad girl after everything. " I'm Iris and you , I think I dont hear your name, before our little fight"

"It's Nereida," the green child replies.

"Nereida , is a nice name " she smile gently " you like paint I like painting with more colors" she said with a glare in her eyes.

Nereida wrinkles her nose, confused by the comparison. But then, realizing that Iris was talking about physical coloration, she nodded. "You're more colors, but I like green. 'S'my favorite color."

We met the two new girls a few days ago. Nereida really seemed to like them, too. I think that this will be my last entry before camp, so I'd better find a caretaker for Nereida while I'm gone. (Darsais is going to stay at the lab.)

We went into town again yesterday, and it was good until Nereida swan dove into the fountain in the square. We were promptly asked by security to go home.

We'll work on self control when I get back.

I still need to get her in to see Shy for her first checkup...I'll find time next month, for sure.

Ronnie pulled Dierdre along as they made their way up the street. The home was around here somewhere and, ah here it was. She clutched the little box as they went up the walkway.

"What are we doing this for any way?" Dierdre huffed loudly and scowled at the little box. "What's a body to do with all this gift giving and none coming her own way?"

Ronnie sighed as she set the box down on the step. "Don't you love your little crane doll?" She got the quick assenting nod from the fae. "Well, Silverah and Nereida are the ones who gave it to you. This is what's called good manners, hopefully someday you'll have them."

Though secretly pleased that she was able to give a return gift, Dierdre raised an eyebrow at her guardian. "I'm in the way of thinking you'll have good fashion someday, but I'm not holding my breath."

On your step you find a simple brown cardboard box with a note attached. "Silvy, Dierdre loves the crane plushie you gave her! I hope Nereida likes this as much. Love, Ronnie and Dierdre."

Well, I've finally managed to get Nereida her medical appointment. Wow! Do I feel accomplished!

I've been doing a lot of work on my raft and I think it's seaworthy again. Maybe for up to four kids? Or something like that. I haven't tried it with more than me.

But anyway, I'm going to talk to Gage and see if he and Jack want to take it out with me. (And Darsais. Apparently I have to take her.)

I still can't believe I did that. I mean, I could at the time - all I was thinking about was saving his life - but I can't believe everyone else thought it was a kiss!

Why would I kiss Gage? He *was* my best friend.

But now we're fighting and I want to go wash my mouth out with soap again.

Needless to say that was the worst day of my life. For one thing, the Lady Redwood needs repairs again, and some improvements if I want to take her out on rough seas. Jack and Darsais have blackmail material, Gage hates me...

Why is that the worst part?

I don't want him to hate me. I just... don't understand why he's so upset. I SAVED HIS LIFE.

'Cept I'm kinda scared to admit I sorta liked it.
