 About Nereida
Name: Nereida Stage: Child Gender: ---- Skin tone: green Hair: light blue Eyes: black Height: 4' 4" Weight: 57 lbs Power: ---- Distingishing traits: Fins on ears and back, gills on stomach, webbing between fingers and toes About: Nereida's come a long way. When I first recieved her, she was smaller than average and quite shy, barely ever speaking above a whisper. However, this is a very social household and she's adapted by speaking more and louder. She's even got some friends! Nereida's a strong swimmer (And I do believe she can breathe under water) with a stronger sense of adventure. Notably, she loves playing "pirates" at the beach and getting into all sorts of trouble (like looking for sea monsters!) However, she still zones out occasionally when in the ocean. She's quite easy to get along with, but loud or boisterous people annoy her a lot. She once tried to attack Iris because she was "too loud!" Nereida does have a brave streak, though, and a bit of an altruistic one. She's every bit willing to stick herself in a dangerous situation (sea monsters, anyone?) if someone else is at risk of not making it out. Cert:x Tutors: Ae and Trojan First Medical Evaluation Form
Firsts First Playdate: Iris First Friend: Kayce First Fight: Iris First Kill: The Sea Monster First Kiss: Gage
I'll finish this later when I have time.

Silverah
(pic later when I get off my lazy arse and draw one.)
Name: Silverah "Silvy/Rah" Age: Youngish *shrug* Height: 5'7" Weight: A lady never tells Hair: Pink naturally, but usually dyed brown. Occasionally purple. Eyes: red Skin: dark Personality: Silvy is very sarcastic and, sorry to say, a little bit of an exhibitionist. She has a habitual streak of rudeness developed from being the only child of overbearing parents. (They thought they were excellent selective breeders, having a child with pink hair, dark skin, and red eyes.) She also has a habitual streak of maternal caring, especially for children who come from inanimate objects like computer chips and jars.
She came by this one after taking a job from Naeodin to do a cert. Rather than payment, she was given a vase. But since she wasn't hoping for payment anyways, it was great to get anything.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Aurion (fae) I think he's nice. He's big, too. Bigger than Mom, even! But he said he's just like me. Wonder what he meant? I haven't seen him in a while, though. He's older than me, so maybe he was doing something that older fae have to do?
Iris (fae) She talks funny, so I don't know what she means half the time. But she likes to swim, so I thinks we'll be friends. She came to the beach, but she left before we fought the sea monster. Oh, and she's lots of pretty colors.
Noelle (fae) I like Noelle. She talked to me and she wasn't too loud. Ritsuki seemed scared of her, though...
Ritsuki (fae) I don't know her very well, but why was she afraid of Noelle?
Csilla (fae) I don't know her very well, either, but she's pretty! Her skin's like the night sky.
Kayce (fae) Kayce is really cool. She likes playing pirates, swimming, and she doesn't think Deirdre is all that great, either! We went sea monster hunting and it was a lot of fun. She was really happy to play along, unlike Deirdre.
Deirdre (fae) Ew. She's got a problem with the authority of Captain Canary and knows nothing about the true nature of sea monsters. I think I schooled her. She's a good fighter, though. She just doesn't know when to break off and get air. Not everyone can breathe underwater.
Tomoko (fae) She was at the beach, but she doesn't like to swim. I don't get it. And she eats flowers? Weird.
Nalani (fae) Iris's big sister. I don't know her well.
Blondie (fae) (AKA Varain) What an idiot! There was the wind, about to blow us over, and he just stood there! Kayce says he's really girly. Urgh.
Gage (fae) That was CPR, and don't forget it! I didn't enjoy it any more than you did. So why can't I stop thinking about it?
Jack (kybernetik) You repeat any of that to anyone and I'll put a nail gun to your head. Other than being a liability, he's a rather good pirate. Better than his brother Gage, at least.
Girl at the Hospital (AKA Raven) (Eden) She was in the hospital when Dar and I were volunteering. Seemed nice enough.
Beth (woman) The seceratary at the project. She told me I'm pretty and not to lead boys and girls on. What'd she mean?
Amyla (woman) Kayce's mom. She brought fruit and stuff to the beach and talked with mom. She seems pretty nice, but I don't know her too well.
Ronnie (woman) Dierdre's mom. She's a little scatterbrained, I think, and her sense of style is atrocious. On that, Dierdre and I agree. But she gave me my whale doll, so she's cool.
Funny Lab Coat Man (man) (AKA Kasumoto) He's a little weird. Tomoko's dad, I think.
Shy (man?) Head of the project. He seems nice enough. Also called me pretty.

RP 1 - The jar wants a gift?
Silverah set down the letter after reading it again and looked at the jar in front of her. "Well, first, let's move this somewhere a little more convenient... where I'm not likely to trip over it." Carefully, she bent down, picked up the jar, and carried it to the kitchen. She set it down on the center of the table and looked at it.
"So," she said to herself. "I have to give it a gift, preferably not one of the listed... And that might affect what it becomes. Let's see... I wonder what would happen if I gave it a seashell? or a fish? Probably something ocean related. That would be awesome!"
She hurried off to see what she had and returned with only a small vial of ocean water. "I guess this will have to do," she shrugged. "I wonder what I do? Put it in the jar?"
A moment more's perplexion.
Silvy dropped the vial into the jar. "Good a guess as any," she told herself, and walked away, wondering if she'd done it right.

RP 2 - And if you do this, you can hear the ocean!
Silvy awoke the next morning and stumbled sleepily into the Kitchen. There was Darsais's chip, "Morning, Darsais," and there was the jar, "Morning, Jar." Just as she'd left them the night before.
Or not.
Silverah did a double-take and sniffed around. Something in the room smelled of salt air and seaweed. Certainly not Darsais, but maybe the jar...?
She had put seawater in it, after all. For a moment, Silvy wondered if that had been a bad choice.
Aside from the water, the jar had been empty last night, hadn't it? Because now there was definitely something blue in it. And she could almost swear that it was gently waving, like the ocean. Curious, Silvy stuck her hand into the jar and reached down towards the blue. Her fingers left ripples, and it was definitely wet.
"I hope I didn't do something wrong!" she whimpered, running to look for the letter. Where had the jar come from? She'd call that person - Shy, was it?- and get to the bottom of this!

Private RP 1 - A Jar is a Jar is a Jar... Usually (Silverah and Shy) Finished 6/1/06
Darkred=SilverahBlack=Beth/Shy~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Congratulations?" Silverah wondered out loud. She held the jar snuggly in her arms and it was making a faint rushing sound, like the sea. "Come in any time? Okay then."
Looking up at the building in front of her, she decided the best place to start was the door. She pushed it open with one hand (tightening her grip on the jar with the other. It would be awful to drop it now) and entered the building. Finding herself in the lobby, she strode up to the receptionist. "I'm here to see someone by the name of Shy." Silverah stared at the receptionist, put off by the odd silence. Was the woman even alive?
She resisted the urge to poke and, seeing a furnished waiting area, decided to occupy herself over there.Beth scowled at the woman, resenting the intrusion. "Shy, is it?" staring at her a little suspiciously, she nodded her head. "I'll take you. I don't think you know your way around yet." Staring at the jar thoughtfully, she nodded.
"I think Shy knows of your visit. Silverah, right?" with a warmer smile, she acknowledged the other and tilted her head towards the door. "I'm Beth. This way, please." "Yeah, that's me," Silverah replied with a nod. "When I spoke to him, he said he'd tell you to let me in."
She tried to calm the uneasiness in her gut and told herself it was all going to be fine as she followed Beth out of the lobby.Beth smirked. "Shy... well." she led the way, into a large elevator, and then down a hall. "He's someone that takes some getting used to. Congratulations on the jar, by the way. Sometimes it doesn't always work out the way you think it will. It looks... healthy." not that she knew much anyways.
"He'll take care of you, and the jar. But he's a scientist. So don't expect him to be on top of the sane things, alright?" with that last, lingering warning, she stepped in front of a door. "He's right through there."
She was certainly not going to follow Silverah in. Silverah knocked lightly and then pushed the door open, glancing hesitantly at Beth. She knew a lot of crazy doctors. In fact, it was in her experience that all doctors who did this sort of thing were a *little* crazy.
She entered the room. The door slammed behind her.The room was large, rounded with high floor to ceiling windows on the other end, a rich mahogany desk dominating the front of the window and in front of Silverah, located in a little dip, an oddly out of place assortment of chairs and tables.
Rather like an old fashioned drawing room.
"Silverah?" from another door Shy stepped in, looking calm, peaceful if a little bit harried. The lab coat fit with a percision that suited the man, and for a moment he stood there to stare at the jar, adjusting his silver frames.
"Please, welcome. Make yourself comfortable."
Making his way to the little dip, he took one high back chair, inclined for her to take another. "Hello," replied Silverah, taking the other chair. "It's nice to finally meet you, Mr. - Dr.? Shy." She placed the jar down on the nearest table and watched the ripples on the surface of the ...thing... within.
"Why does it do that?" she asked."Not one to skimp the questions?" he had an amused smile on his face as he nodded. "Just Shy is fine." as if it was a title, almost.
"The jar, acts as a receptacle, an enzyme. When you place an item in it, a fae who is attracted to the gift enters, and then with the fae's own genetic makeup, a series of chemical reactions happen. This is the in between stage, from faerie to child, and the color..." he shrugged. "Sometimes it's to give you a hint on what the child will look like, or just the physical after effects. Who knows?"
He nodded. Motioning to the table piled high next to them with sweet food, he smiled again. "Please, help yourself."
"The stage." he began. "Usually lasts for a week. Sometimes it is longer, sometimes it is shorter. It always depends. Only the most powerful fae manage to get past this stage, and there are theories as to why the timing is always unique. Maybe it is based on how much the fae have degenerated, as a signal of power, willingness?" he shrugged. She passed on the food, prefering to ask another question. "The description I first got was that it should glow, but it doesn't, and I touched it once and it was... water. What's that mean? Is that bad?"Shy shook his head, taking the chance to reach of a small pastry. "They glow, most of the time. Usually they turn into a type of wisp, visible to the eye but impossible to touch. They differ with every jar in color, type, temperment... sometimes they give a suggestion to the type of child that will emerge. Othertimes, it's just a preview to what the fae was like.
What did you give to the jar?" he guessed something water based, but couldn't quite put a finger on it. "What did I give it?" she asked, surprised. "I gave it a vial of seawater. I was looking for a shell or a gem or something, but the seawater was all I could find that seemed suitable. That's okay, right?"
She eyes the jar, wondering what kind of mercreature is going to crawl out of it.Shy almost snickered. Except he was too professional for that. "That is probably fine. And a good choice, really." inclining his head with a nod, he leaned back. "It is safe, healthy. Reacting to outside stimulus..." he nodded.
"Do you have any questions, Silverah? Any other ones." he clarified. "No, not really," she replies with a shrug. "Except... why me? Why did I get a jar? I'm barely fit to be in charge of hamsters, and in the last two weeks I've been charged with not one but two bizarre 'children.' How do you pick, Shy?" Shy smirked, then. It was the smirk of a man who knew himself to be superior over all others. Afterall, he was a scientist, head of a project... while she wasn't.
"I've got my ways, Silverah." he purred, nodding his head. "If you don't have any questions, then..." with a graceful turn of the hand, he nodded. "I'll see you next time."
Jeebus. Talk about short visits. Silverah, sensing she's been dismissed, picks up the jar and heads for the door. "Thank you!" she calls as she leaves.fin

RP 3 - Back to your room!
Silverah returned home from Shy's office. After checking that Darsais was still asleep, she placed the jar back in the spare bedroom and made a mental note to decorate later. She'd figured she'd wait until she saw what it was. But she had a feeling she'd picked well in giving it the room with an ocean view.

[030] Project The thick scent of ocean water, and then, a soft crash from the corners of the room is all the warning Silverah gets. One moment the jar is there and next, a child watches you, black eyes seeming to probe at the world around them, eyes too large for the naked world. Immediatly they shut their eyes, to cut out all the excess light. It is too bright here, for them. Too bright, too dry. But they can adapt. Slowly, they can adapt. Give me a name and I should have the cert ready. Welcome out 19th child! This one is, a neut. At adulthood they can settle upon one gender or another, but until puberty, they will be neutral.
