Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon

Amarynthos had only laughed at Cynthus’ teasing, and he’d proudly held Ephesus until his nerves had eased. He felt better for the kiss, and he entered this new room with the same energy he’d started this whole endeavor with.

He couldn’t tell exactly what was going on by sight alone but he recognized the Chaos. There didn’t seem to be any spheres to unlock here, so he joined the crowd. When Ephesus dropped his hand to wield his staff, Amarynthos did the same.

Careful not to hit anyone else, he brought his staff down as hard as he could against the barrier.

The faster they took this down, the faster they whittled away the Chaos…

The less chance there was of someone getting hurt.

Now, things felt more dangerous than before. He was determined to keep his eyes on everyone and make sure no one got lost in the battle.

Rose called out for someone–a Lysithea Knight?–and Amarynthos immediately added Mechelen to his mental list of people to keep an extra eye on while they were here. Cynthus seemed like she was handling herself, and Reims was by Yvoire and Dering.

Things felt okay. For now.

Alastor, Eternal Senshi of Despair

Alastor stayed close to Sessrumnir, not because he needed to but because he wanted to. They were both experts when it came to combat, and they were both going to keep an eye on the teenagers. There was always the threat that they’d have to split up, but Alastor had full faith that Sessrumnir could (and would) take care of himself. He wasn’t weak. A worrywart, sure, but Alastor was always glad for a chance to remind Sessrumnir that he didn’t have to worry about him so much.

There was a trust between the two. Alastor would stay by his side for as long as possible, but if they needed to split up he knew they’d be okay.

Chaos was thick in the air here, but he’d heard Urania’s voice. He just couldn’t see her.

“Urania, are you all right?” he called. He didn’t like that she’d been gone, unseen, for so long. He knew well how the Chaos on his world played tricks, impersonated people. How it deceived and misled and destroyed. He knew all Chaos was different, but he couldn’t help but expect the worst, anyway.

The only surefire way of making sure the Chaos couldn’t harm anyone was by destroying it, so as many others already were, he attacked the barrier. No magic, not yet; he didn’t know what it was capable of, and there were too many people around. If his magic backfired–although, not that it had in a while–he didn’t want to risk hurting them instead. But, that was fine. He knew how to throw a punch, too.

Belmont, Squire of Jupiter

“Oh, no pressure,” Belmont huffed, but he didn’t feel any. He was in good company right now, and he wouldn’t be surprised if Perdita found a weak point he missed, or if Connie was going to tap into some unknown super power. She was a Squire too! And she had so many layers of clothes, maybe she was all muscle under that.

And anyway, this was what they wanted–the Chaos, there, in some form, so they could beat it down enough for Urania to chase it off.

“Neither of you are useless. I’m counting on you both.” And Urania was, too. “We got this. It’s just a little Chaos, anyway.” And there wasn’t any bugs, no explosions, no waves of youma.

He hoped it stayed that way.

His weapon was fairly lightweight; he held it in one hand and slammed a fist into the barrier instead.

Dering, Squire of Lysithea

In the midst of combat, Dering was reminded that he was not a fighter. The whole scene made his stomach crawl, even if this was all for a good purpose. He didn’t flinch at the sounds of things crashing against the barrier, but he wasn’t making a very happy expression.

It was Chaos. It wasn’t real. It wasn’t a thing that felt, or hurt.

It was evil.

And it was poisoning Urania.

Dering’s friends were nearby, and he was determined not to let any of them down. Or Urania.

He spotted the Lysithea Squire he'd seen on Cybele, and thanks to Rose he had a name for her at least. Now wasn't a good time for introductions, but everyone else was putting their heart into helping.

He didn’t think he was strong, but he was determined. Even a little bit could help.

Dering was saving his lute, just in case he might suddenly have inspiration to use his magic and need the weapon. He held it close to his chest and kicked the Chaos barrier.

Super Sailor Selinur.

Selinur knew he was behind, he had seen everyone leave the room he'd been in, but he also didn't care. Once they had left he'd stayed behind to inspect what was in the room. Every little thing was looked over, picked up, and touched by the ancient senshi. He was if nothing else curious, and perhaps obsessed with learning everything he could about everything possible.

When he finally found everyone it was in a big room with a lot going on. There was a barrier, around what looked like a figure of some sort, and the barrier was comprised of chaos. People were throwing things and trying to take it down, not unexpected really, and with his magic unable to do much to a barrier the ancient blond bent in order to unbuckle a boot and take it in hand. Throwing his boot at the barrier, it was something right? How he wished he had a knife of some sort on him, like he would back home on his own planet, carrying a knife for hunting was normal.

Sailor Grieve of Grieve

Finally, there was something to hit. And sure, she didn't have her full strength, being reduced back down to basic and starting for centuries did that to a person. But when the question was a barrier and the answer was to hit it, well! She had that ********' answer!

The angle was bad, and she probably posed more of a danger to those near the swing of her bony elbows and knees, but hey! A hit was a hit!

Super Sailor Daphne

There was a barrier here, but it was hard to hit it with much enthusiasm when everything that had happened so far that evening when everything that happened here was just another reminder of how little this fight was really going to matter in the grand scheme of things.

She'd promised her help to Urania, though, so with a sigh, she gave it a halfhearted kick.

Page Almere

A barrier. Okay. She could try to break it!

Although she was distracted, since Mechelen seemed to be in a bad mood now, and really she just wanted all of her friends to be okay more than she wanted to slam both of her hands into some kind of magic wall.

At least Halle seemed okay, so she didn't have to worry about him.

Looking from Mechelen to Halle, she gave the barrier a fairly weak poke with her spoon.

“I’m okay!” Urania said to Alastor as she left the inner room. “It just took me forever to get the sphere to work! But it looks like we have more trouble than just the fog and locked doors here.”

The senshi looked up at the barrier.

“Star’s Step!”

Three stars appeared in the air that acted like platforms for her to jump on — for a second, she hovered face to face with whatever was behind the barrier.

“Aether?”

Just as she said the name, the barrier began to break as a result of everyone’s attacks…

… and a burst of Chaos sent Urania flying into the ground. She didn’t move. Urania is unconscious.

You can now see what was behind the now destroyed barrier.

It is what, at first glance, looks like a young woman. It almost looks human, but it is clear by the wires coming from its back that it is not. Plus, there seems to be mechanical ports coming from her cat-like ears.

Suddenly, her eyes open.

“Intruders!” Her eyes glow eerily of Chaos. “You must leave now or be destroyed!”

The wires that are attached to her start to move…

Quote:
In Phase 2, Aether can be attacked!

To attack, roll one die based on your character’s current stage using the chart below.

Mauvian: d4
Stage 1: d6
Stage 2: d8
Stage 3: d10
Stage 4: d12

If you have healing magic, you can instead spend your attack to heal Urania. Roll as if you are attacking, but quote me that you are healing Urania instead of attacking.

You may only attack or heal once per phase.

Eternal Sailor Tjilaki

Tjilaki felt a surge of relief and excitement as Urania's voice filled the room. Their guide and mentor was safe, at least for now. But the sight of the mysterious human-shaped figure on the platform above gave her pause. Who or what could it be? And why was it encased in Chaos?

The mechanical woman's sudden awakening sent a chill down Tjilaki's spine. The glow of Chaos in her eyes only added to the sense of danger emanating from her. But despite the warning, Tjilaki stood her ground, determination sparking within her.

Tjilaki didn’t want to use her magic yet. She wanted to save it for later if need be. She glanced over at Urania with concern, lying motionless on the ground. Their guide and mentor was in trouble, and they couldn't afford to hesitate any longer.

Crisium, Page of the Moon
Rolled: A 4! Good job, Crisium!

He'd wanted to stay in the other rooms far longer - the planetarium, for instance, was fascinating - but they still had to deal with the Chaos. He couldn't exactly just hide in a corner. Well. He could have. To be fair, he could have, but that seemed really rude. Like yes, I came to this world to help and now I am hiding behind a table! The senshi would clearly understand, as would everyone else here. Clearly.

Which was why Crisium was picking at his finger as he rejoined the group, hopefully with Antisana in tow, and nervously looked up at the barrier that rippled with Chaos energy. This was it, probably. This was the source of the Chaos and probably was going to be very unhappy to be disturbed.

These things couldn't just be simple RPG puzzles, could they? He liked D&D, he did, but he really didn't enjoy this whole real life thing. At least in D&D if his character died, he could create a new one. This being a knight thing really didn't come with resets or restarts.

They had to break into the barrier, but Crisium was woefully unprepared for this. He didn't have any magic, and he didn't even have something that classified as a weapon. He went hunting through the room, looking for anything sturdy enough he could use it as an improvised weapon.

Crisium didn't find one until the barrier exploded and Urania went crashing to the ground unconscious. He gripped the broken pipe in his hands and stared up at the cat robot girl. Oh that wasn't good.

A wire started to thrash around him. With a cry, Crisium started to repeatedly hit the wire, really really hoping it would stop moving soon!

Ngome, Page of Lysithea

Ngome's heart raced as she heard Urania's voice echoing in the room, signaling that they were getting closer to their goal. With determination in her eyes, she moved towards the center of the room where Urania was. The fog cleared, revealing the tiny inner room under the stairs where Urania stood, unaware of their presence.

As Ngome approached the dais with Urania's personal item, she glanced up at the platform above where a human-shaped figure was trapped behind a barrier of Chaos. A sense of urgency washed over her as she realized they needed to break through the barrier to reach whoever—or whatever—was up there.

Everyone had attacked until the barrier had broken.

Ngome's heart pounded in her chest as the young woman behind the barrier came to life, her eyes glowing with an eerie light of Chaos. The wires attached to her began to snake and slither, giving her an otherworldly appearance that sent a shiver down Ngome's spine.

Despite the warning to leave or face destruction, Ngome stood her ground, her determination unwavering.

Ngome wasn’t sure what to do about the moving wires. She kicked at them

in an attempt to disrupt their movement.

Mechelen Squire of Lysithea

When Rose called out to her, Mechelen brightened, her terrible help towards dispelling the barrier and all, and when she saw Reims in the crowd too, she gave half a wave, a smile breaking across her face until…

Well. Until everything went to Hell in a handbasket.

Urania looked really happy, and called out to a friend…who…

Turned out to not be a friend, and Mechelen winced as the Senshi fell. This…

Wasn’t great. It made her feel horribly uncomfortable and she swallowed hard, not knowing if she should use her magic or just…try to throw something again. Honestly she didn’t want to get too close to this…robot? Cat robot? Robot cat? Whatever it was, she didn’t want any part of them.

Glancing down, she stomped hard on the wires that were near her. “Rose! Reims! Halle! Be careful!”

She still held Almere’s hand, and squeezed it to let the girl know that she obviously wasn’t forgotten.
