Erytheia Knight of Cosmos
MOOD: Erytheia.exe has stopped working. ACTION: Probably just as disappointed as Kurma, but for completely different reasons.“Kurma!”Well, that settled the name part, but the Cosmos knight didn’t sound at all pleased to be saying it. In a way, it was a lot like the floating man’s expression, if it were from a man with half the experience and half the emotional control. “Where have you been? You can’t just… teleport… people places and then leave.” Erytheia was using his hands to make his point, but it just looked like he was desperately trying to find something as he emoted something that was supposed to mean from ‘here to there’. “They’re saying we’re on Astraya for Cosmos’s sake! You said that place was a myth. And even if it is, this place has the same markings of that thing you had me destroy. The dangerous thing. And people are just… touching things!”Erytheia was turning a kind of red in the face that didn’t happen often — not his usual awkward face but a ‘I-can’t-believe-this-is-happening’ face. And, really, for the amount of times he’d been randomly summoned off world that was impressive. “Oh! And there’s robots that are sentient!” He pointed to Lysvi who had make that exact point and then, with even more emphasis, to Murikabushi. “And they are saying you don’t even have a star seed!!!”And then Erytheia had to take a massive breath because that was way too many words coming out of his mouth at once. cibarium You have broken Erytheia. ✪

Kurma Guide to the Cosmos
MOOD: Really stressed ACTION: Talking to the group" Robots?" The alleged guide's face tensed to a focal point around his nose, and he frowned wearily. "So it was robots who fixed this thing up? How in the hell did they figure out how do do that?" He crossed his arms and burned his eyes into the spire again, looking at it like it was a terrible nuisance."You can hear it, right? Damn thing's giving me a headache." No sound would be perceptible by the group. Quite the opposite, it was eerily quiet save for their voices. Knowing there would be questions, he sighed and turned around to face them again while pinching the bridge of his nose between a forefinger and a bandaged thumb. "It wasn't me that brought you here, it was this eyesore. It's built specifically to bring people here and make sure they can't leave. I'd like to focus on getting it turned off as fast as possible, so why don't you leave me to it and go destroy those robots? Their presence here can't be a good thing." He turned back around, and with a practiced hand, pried an amber gem out of one of the sockets and tucked it away out of sight. It was as if none of them had raised any questions about his star seed at all, and it seemed highly unlikely he would provide more answers than he had already given.

MURIKABUSHI Dark Mirror Court, Senshi of Hunger (Basic)MOOD: “Oh no, the strange, sexy space-man with no starseed is sad.” ACTION: Abruptly changing course for “Why can’t we help, though?” ……The record-scratch sound-effect played very loudly in Reiki’s head, even if in no one else’s.
Honestly, there was so much to unpack in what this guy—Kurma, apparently—had said about why they were here, and what was going on, and all of it. Trying to get through everything at once was making Reiki’s head spin a little bit—and making him stand there, glancing from the beacon itself to Lysvi, to Erytheia, to the stars above them, never settling on one location for long—but the central take-home point he gathered was that……okay, he’d apparently been wrong in assuming that Kurma was a nefarious mastermind who’d brought them all here for his own amusement.
That……merited a change in tactics.
“Uh, well, I can’t speak for either of the others—and I have no baseline to judge for Lysvi, because they’re the first one of their people I’m meeting—but……no? I don’t hear anything?” For a quick moment, he peered up at the beacon again. Maybe it was making noise. If this Kurma guy could survive without a starseed (allegedly), then maybe he had some kind of specially tuned super-hearing that meant he could hear things they couldn’t (or at least that Reiki couldn’t). But…for Kurma to throw himself at working on this alone……
“And hey, uh, sorry for……continuing to disregard your requests, but……wouldn’t it be better for us to help you with destroying that? All the robots have actually done is throw a party and be kind of annoying.”

Lysvi Velencian Cadet
MOOD: Well, let's wreck the beacon then! ACTION: Approaching the beaconLysvi's brows knit, and knit further when Murikabushi implied they might have some superior hearing... "If my hearing is superior, it isn't," they paused, pondered over the word, and continued, "POG. I cannot hear what Jeff is speaking of either." But if this beacon was the problem... It probably explained the barrier. So the party robots that likely brought it back up were likely trying to protect it. But why? Did they just want some guests for their party? Their celebration of... Their arrival because of the data the land gave them, or whatever it was? "I'm with Muri," there was the nickname again, "the robots have mostly just been throwing a party. Something about our arrival being foretold by data, I guess?" They glanced up at the beacon as they approached Kurma--and therefore the beacon--despite his wishes. "We can probably help if this is the problem. Four heads are better than one, right?" Even if one of them was ignoring the questions about being without starseed--seriously, how was he doing that?

Erytheia Knight of Cosmos
MOOD: Why do I even ask questions? ACTION: Desperately trying to hear the thing. Also, offering help. Because why not at this point? As if meant to distract him from the questions he had asked, the young man suddenly stopped to attempt and hear the noise Kurma had mentioned. But there was nothing. Like the non-existent answers. “If this is the thing that brought us here, shouldn’t we destroy this first? We can help you do that.”God, why was he being so helpful? Kurma had literally answered zero percent of the questions he had asked. But it’s not like this exact thing hadn’t happened before. So, helping the strange man destroy even stranger things: 2. Getting his questions answered: 0. ✪

Kurma Guide to the Cosmos
MOOD: seriously, this is the worst possible situation ACTION: Considering the offer for helpKurma crossed his arms and closed his eyes, trying his best to unclench his jaw and think. He was deeply unhappy that this place, of all places, had somehow been summoned out of the void, and the fact it was being seen by so many people was -- it was devastating. It made him nauseous. "It doesn't make a difference to me whether you destroy it, but could make things more difficult for you," he answered to Murikabushi and Erytheia. "This thing wasn't fixed quite right. So if you want to risk being sent out somewhere there isn't ground to land on, by all means." His head tilted towards the Dakr Mirror senshi meaningfully, and he made an open gesture to the spire, as if inviting him to try. Following that, Lysvi was given a long, thoughtful look. "I'll be honest, I don't trust your Vanguard, Not after that hack-job your leader showed everyone. But you're a crafty bunch. I don't think I can afford to say no." This was said with a sigh and a defeated expression. "All I ask is that you don't take anything, or bring any other Vanguardians in here. I made a promise to Cosmos I'm trying to keep."

MURIKABUSHI Dark Mirror Court, Senshi of Hunger (Basic)MOOD: “Why do I even bother. You’ll never see me as anything more than Chaos.” ACTION: Taking Kurma’s behavior personally when he really shouldn’t, running his mouth because he enjoys digging deeper holes for himself, and going to leave. Whether it was Kurma’s intent or not, Murikabushi tensed at that Look he was getting. At Kurma’s (pretty sarcastic from the sound of it) invitation, he pursed his lips and took a step back. “Fine, then. Point made and taken.”
If his feelings and his head had really been screwed on straight, maybe Murikabushi wouldn’t have heard things the way he did. If he hadn’t just fought with a member of his own Court in defense of the White Moon and keeping up good relations with them, maybe he wouldn’t have been so sensitive to anything his mind could twist into a rejection. If not for other recent experiences that had exactly nothing to do with Kurma, the robots, the beacon, or anything on this godforsaken rock (Sailor Untitled Goose Game……the Knight who’d shown up to Ida’s meeting about the Blight spots……the cat senshi, who was probably like Daphne and Fang, not remotely from ‘round here, and like them, had probably seen their homeworld destroyed by Chaos……the way they’d looked at him, even while deferring to Ida and Kerberos about him being invited), maybe Reiki would have admitted to himself that Kurma most likely hadn’t meant to make him feel Very Attacked.
But none of those conditions were currently being met.
And, as he held up both hands—mostly in mock-surrender, but with a bit of nothing up my sleeve! panache—Reiki unquestionably did feel Very Attacked. “Serves the silly, stupid Chaos rat right for thinking he was allowed to be anything else but a Chaos rat, I guess. Sorry for wasting so much of your time. I only wanted to help.”
Was he being genuine or sarcastic with that apology? Honestly, he didn’t know, but Oscar Wilde never had to think about whether he was being serious, so why should Reiki. In fact, the one big time St. Wilde of Tite Street did go for broke on earnestness—trying to defend his and Bosie’s love, and the beauty of queer love between men, on the courtroom’s stage—it spectacularly blew up in his face. (Which, so help him, he would. not. let Little Miss Can’t-Be-Wrong find out about. The last thing Logos needed was to feel validated in her isolationist bullshit, as if that foreign policy had ever worked out for anyone. Reiki would have rather glued his lips shut than let Logos have anything she might have taken as a victory, even if was just “The game-master weirdo with no starseed was slightly mean to me in a way that I took personally”).
Still, Reiki softened as he looked to Lysvi and Erytheia. Neither of them had treated him badly for Existing While Chaos, so they didn’t deserve to get caught in the crossfire of his tantrum. “I am sorry to both of you.… Was nice meeting you, working together, even just for a little bit.… Take care of yourselves, yeah? And by the way, Jeff?”
He huffed, looking back to the starseed-less wonder. “I have no idea what you’re talking about with a hack-job or anything? But Lysvi isn’t their people’s leader, from the sound of it. So, where do you get off holding what someone else did against them? When they personally have been nothing but kind to you and eager to help? Like, me? Fine, I’m a b***h and a Chaos rat besides, but Lysvi has been a sweetheart, and they don’t deserve being treated as guilty by default over someone else’s ******** up decisions.”
Didn’t your parents-and/or-guardians teach you any ******** manners?, he wanted to ask. The only reason why he didn’t was the potential humiliation that might’ve come if Kurma-Jeff didn’t actually have parents and/or guardians in his life.
But anyway, Murikabushi turned to head for the mirror. If he wasn’t wanted—if he couldn’t even try to help without getting all kinds of s**t for it again—then why bother staying. He needed to find his Duckling. Maybe Kerberos or Pendour, too. Make sure nothing bad had happened to those from Order who didn’t think he was just a Chaos rat (and in Kerberos’s case, actively objected to Reiki using that term).

Lysvi Velencian Cadet
MOOD: alarmed, but still helpful ACTION: getting to workWas he seriously rejecting all their offers for help? Well, he was rejecting for most of them. He was sort of accepting it from them, but only with the clarification that Jeff--or Kurma, was that the name Erytheia was using?--didn't approve of Lyndin's actions. They didn't either! There was a moment that they almost opened their lips to say that, to be honest, they were mostly staying with the Velencians to support their fellow cadets and corporals, but then Murikabushi launched on Jeffma. Ah. Their eyes widened, and they paused and listened. And when he was done, they offered an awkward, "Thank you," followed by, "I don't think you're a rat." As much as they personally liked rats, they were such clever creatures, they knew that they came with bad implications in Earthen culture. Their attention turned back to Jeffma. "Uh, I don't super support those actions either." They bit their bottom lip. "But that's not relevant here, it is a personal matter. Velencian knowledge of technology would be useful here. I accept your hesitant acceptance for me to help." They cracked their knuckles. "So let's get to work!"

Erytheia Knight of Cosmos
MOOD: Trying to make peace. ACTION: Let me help you!“We won’t take anything or bring anyone else here.”Erytheia wondered what the man knew, what he wasn’t telling them. He wanted to ask more questions. Yet he refrained. Kurma was letting them help — kind of. And for that, the knight of Cosmos was grateful. He had the impression Kurma didn’t like asking for help and preferred to do this on his own. “Wait!” Erytheia suddenly turned to the Dark Mirror senshi. “Don’t go, Murikabushi. We might need your mirror-hopping abilities. I personally don’t care if you’re Chaos or not.”Was he giving Kurma side eye now? “And you can hardly blame Lysvi for what happened with the Vanguard back then.”He smiled and offered Kurma a hand. “Do you make many promises to Cosmos?”But if it was for Cosmos, could he really complain? ✪

Kurma Guide to the Cosmos
MOOD: sIGH,,, ACTION: Accepting help from Lysvi and ErytheiaKurma was quick to contradict the Cosmos Knight's kindness, waving it off with an assertive hand and speaking to Murikabushi. "No, we don't need your mirror hopping abilities. Please leave. It's nothing personal, I've just dealt with Chaos enough times to know I shouldn't let you anywhere near this thing." "Son, at this point a promise to Cosmo is practically what I am. She and I go so far back it makes the Silver Millenium feel like yesterday. I thought more of you folks knew that." He looked genuinely confused for a second, but shook his head and brought his focus back to the matter at hand. "If you wanna help too, could you smash those mirrors and keep an eye out? I can't have anyone else sneaking in here." Then, with a nod to Lysvi, he set back to work.

MURIKABUSHI Dark Mirror Court, Senshi of Hunger (Basic)MOOD: “Man, ******** this.” ACTION: Getting the last word and exiting, stage left. Based on how they’d been so far, Lysvi and Erytheia didn’t deserve this s**t—patently and without question did not—and Reiki tried not to aim any of his huffing and general Attitude Problem in their directions. But no, he couldn’t leave well enough alone, and no, this smug, Dollar Store Ian Malcolm-looking a*****e did not get to have the last ******** word.
“Yeah, you don’t get to decide what I take personally or not, Jeff,” Reiki huffed. “How is a b***h supposed to hear it as anything but personal when you tell him ‘Well, all this nebulous, undefined bad stuff that you had nothing to do with and know nothing about? It means that you yourself are incapable of ever helping anybody, now kindly ******** off—but oh, this dig at you is nothing personal.’”
To Lysvi and Erytheia, though, he added, more gently, “It has been a pleasure meeting you two. Take care of yourselves, yeah?”
With which, Murikabushi was off. The mirror had gotten him in here, and now, it would get him out. Take him……he didn’t know. Literally anywhere else on this ******** rock. Hopefully somewhere he wouldn’t have to put up with these compulsory happiness robots and their ******** party. All attitude problem bullshit aside, a b***h’s feelings had been hurt by some unfathomably old magical being—someone who had an alleged hookup to the Cosmos that Erytheia and Amsvartnir were Knights of, apparently—as good as looking him in the face and confirming every horrible thing he’d been feeling about himself and his magical girl allegiance lately (at least since his run-in with the Negaverse guy with the furnace in his chest, so much worse since Anser had attacked him for trying to help somebody, and worse still since My Little Lysithea and the shady looks he’d gotten from some of those present at Ida’s meeting about the Blight).
About the only thing Kurma hadn’t done was echo the words Chaos rat—but he didn’t have to; Reiki’s mind attached them to his tone just fine. It didn’t matter, though. As long as he got away from here.Quote: Fin from me, as well! heart

Lysvi Velencian Cadet
MOOD: fascinated by Jeffma, sad Murikabushi left, still getting to work ACTION: no more beacon allowedThey were pleased that one of their new allies was backing them up and supporting the concept of Murikabushi still working with them, because he was clever and needed to leave as much as everyone else did, but Jeffma there quickly nipped that in the bud with a warning that Chaos shouldn't be let near the beacon. Considering what they had seen chaos do, there was a part of them that agreed considering what this beacon could do, but they didn't get the impression that the dark mirror did the same things. After all, they hadn't heard nearly as much about the dark mirror... But this guy was apparently very old, quite possibly much older than their elders if he truly was that much older than the Silver Millennium. Challenging him directly on that front felt like Lysvi was just denying his Elder Wisdom. How the hell was he that old? Lysvi was not terribly surprised by Murikabushi's harsher language in turn. He had already indicated he had not a terribly high opinion of himself, and also that he was angry. They did their best just to keep their head down, but when addressed directly, they offered a, "You too. Be careful out there." They glanced toward Erytheia, wondering if their expression properly portrayed the this is unfortunate emotion, before turning their attention directly to the beacon. They turned to Kurma, gave a firm nod in turn, and brought their initial focus and technological might on understanding what each piece seemed to do... cibarium fin here too, thanks y'all!
