SOLO - Prentice - WC 322
After several encounters with strangers that eventually became acquaintances, Oserys had officially taken the time to think about his future. What would he do? Could he see himself following in the footsteps of his family or did he want to do something different? While he loved his family he couldn’t see himself as a farmer. Chores on a daily basis were boring and he often times ran away from them. Or at least the pointless ones. However, his friend Zakia had shown him a skill that he’d been working on ever since. Arrow making was a hobby he’d developed. Though it did take up a good bit of his free time now.
So he’d thought about it a bit more, especially after meeting a few more people, and the hobby he enjoyed in his free time might actually be a skill he could use to support himself. Becoming a weapons maker, or a blacksmith, would be ideal. He just needed to find someone willing to take the time to teach him the ins and outs of the rest of it. Arrows he was fairly good with, just needed to refine his skills and also have access to better materials. Sticks and stones could only go so far. Metals and feathers would be better.
Oserys leaned back a little and stared up at the sky, careful not to fall over as he did. A large smile in place as he figured out what he could do. It would mean he’d have to let his family know and leave the farm. There wasn’t a blacksmith next door that he could just walk over to every day. It would mean he’d have to find a village or city that had one willing to become a mentor. Shouldn’t be too hard. Though he did wonder if he should find one in Sauti or venture into Tale. After his talk with his family he’d know for sure.
