Katori always enjoyed stopping by Sauti on her way home to the sanctuary. The young mage had grown up in the area, her home just along the border between Sauti and Zena, and no matter how far away she went the girl always loved the cliffs here the most. There was just something magical about climbing up high on the rocky terrain so that she could witness the purple hue of another sunrise as the morning broke through the mist that wafted from the valley below. Rather than taking the normal path that curved around the cliffs the girl had decided to simply climb up. Admittedly it was a bit reckless, but if there was one thing that Katori excelled at it was athletics so she was not that worried about the tricky climb. Swinging herself up on that final ledge, the perfect overlook that allowed her to enjoy the early sunlight, Katori let out a happy sigh. “Home at last….well almost.” At least she could enjoy the morning here before going back to pack up her camp and heading up the mountains. Katori let out a yawn and stretched her arms high above her head as she settled in to enjoy the morning view with a few pastries she had grabbed while in town. After all, all of this traveling definitely worked up an appetite!

"Hmm?" Katori blinked in surprise as she realized that someone was actually speaking to her. Someone else was all the way out here? Grinning, Katori leaned over and held out a hand. "I guess since you asked so nicely." She teased as she waited for him to reach out to her, her gauntlets with their etched runes gleaming in the morning sunlight.

"I didn't realize anyone else knew about this spot." She commented as she prepared to help him up onto the ledge next to her. Not that she blamed him. This was a truly pretty area and if Katori lived closer she would definitely stop by here more often instead of just the few times while traveling back and forth from her home.

"Thanks." Katori grinned at the compliment as she made room for the teen to join her. "Oh? Strange place to simply wander across." She teased lightly before searching through her satchel for some of the pastries. "Climbing always works up an appetite. Do you need any food?" She asked nicely as she gestured towards the array of treats laying on the napkin next to her. Katori already had a berry one in hand that she was munching on as she studied the boy.

"Well it was a good call. This is my favorite spot in Sauti." Katori commented with a grin. "It's a difficult climb so that's impressive." Even if she had to give him a helping hand at the end the teen had still made it to that part. She was just there as an added bonus to help him at the final stretch.

"You're welcome." Katori took another bite and swallowed before continuing. "I'm Katori and you are?

"Oserys." Repeated Katori before leaning back against a jutting rock. Her gaze swept over the colorful horizon, enjoying the view before she finally spoke again. "Sort of? I travel all over and sometimes following the normal path is a bit too boring or rather some places aren't really accessible by normal means." She found herself explaining after pondering the question. It wasn't as if she always wanted to challenge herself, but more so that she had learned to test her limits out of necessity's sake. "It's hard to chase injured animals if you're simply sticking to the path. My family deals with helping animals recover so I've had to climb after a few tricky patients before." Katori chuckled at the thought. "Once I had to climb a cliff higher than this in Zena just to try and calm a chiavi down so that we could set her wing. The poor thing had tried flying and got stuck because she moved crooked with the injury." The girl shook her head at the thought. Thankfully they had been successful in coaxing the creature down and Katori had helped her to get her wing out of the tree where it had ledged itself because of the awkward angle.

Katori chuckled. "I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. Reliable is nice and all but it can be so dreary when there's much more exciting options to explore." She was indeed a bit reckless which probably explained some of the tricky situations she had gotten caught up in before, but who was counting? Katori shook her head before focusing on the next question, a smile crossing her lips as she pondered the situations she had experienced before.

"Sometimes when they get frightened they'll do really dangerous things without thinking. Raptrix can be the worst though I think chiavi are almost as bad. We found a raptrix that had gotten caught in a hunter's trap once. The poor thing almost twisted his paw off and somehow managed to unchain the claw, dragging it across the valley until he got it wedged between some trees. It was a fight just to keep him from hurting himself and us." Katori shook her head at the memory. "Thankfully we calmed him down and freed his paw. I did get on the back of a chiavi once that had a hurt leg, but his wings were completely fine - something I found out when he went flying across the valley with me clinging to his back." Now that had been an experience! Thankfully her family had been there to rescue her before anything worse had happened and they eventually got the chiavi cornered so that they could fix up its leg.

"You're not the only one to say though." Teased Katori with a grin. "Though here you are climbing cliffs so I suppose you have courage for other things." She playfully added before taking another bite of the pastry. "Admittedly helping an animal makes me happy but this scenery is also very nice which you can't enjoy while chasing an angry raptrix around." The hybrid leaned back and just enjoyed the feeling of the wind brushing through her hair. She definitely had missed Sauti these last few months. Oba was simply way too hot.

Katori grinned as he chuckled. "Right? But it is very lovely this morning." She acknowledged as she studied the sunrise. "Have you always lived in Sauti? I think these mountains have the most beautiful sunrises." She stated quietly. "What do you think? The ocean sunrises are nice too but this I think is my personal favorite."
