Conundrum woke with the dawn, as usual. The two little BCRs that Solarus had granted him were wrapped in his tail, where they were during the night; they were not his children, but Conundrum didn't want to take a single chance on them not surviving to kithood and beyond.

He heard rustling from the front of the cave, his ears twitching forward. A moment or two later, Dilemma approached with a yawn, sleep still evident on her features.

"Good morning," Conundrum greeted with a little smile. Dilemma beamed back at him and nuzzled him affectionately in greeting, then moved around him to scoop the BCRs over one of her paws. "How did you sleep?" Conundrum watched the BCRs on her wrist, eyes flicking back to Dilemma's face. "Are you sure you want to--"

User Image"Shhh," Dilemma said, waving her other paw at her father. He was such a worrywort, but after all that had happened, Dilemma figured she couldn't really blame him. "C'mon, you know I don't mind. I like it, even," she added, looking down at the BCRs on her paw. It was incredible - little miracle babies, and she got to watch after them, help them grow and learn. She was the lucky one, she thought.

"Are you going to say something to them today?" Dilemma asked, raising her eyebrows at her father's confused expression. "They're waiting for you, you know." Conundrum sighed and Emma rolled her eyes. "You can't hid in here forever, and you know I'm right."

She was, too. Conundrum groaned as he stood up, and Emma was reminded - not for the first time - that her father wasn't as young as he had been before. She pushed the thought from her mind and followed him to the front of the cave, smiling at the other foxes that had woken up or were in the process. They emerged from the cave and Dilemma's smile widened - the sunlight was pink and soft on the horizon, and she could just tell: today was going to be a good day.

Now that Kalevi had found Furii, a fox he trusted with his life, he was willing to follow his mate wherever she went. And she had traveled so far, following their tribe's Elder as one disaster after the other struck the tribe. But still, she stayed loyal to Conundrum, and Kalevi stayed loyal to Furii.

And that was how Kalevi had come to be on the lands of the new Solarie tribe. He was still curled protectively around Furii as the first rays of daylight struck his face, waking him. He did not so much as yawn: he was instantly awake, as old, paranoid habits died hard (perhaps would never die at all).

But this land was under the protection of the tribe's elder, and, more importantly, under the protection of its deity, and so while Kalevi was awake and would not be able to fall back into a restful sleep, that did not mean he couldn't stay resting next to his mate for a little while longer.

Just as his mother had followed the tribe's Elder to this new land, Lakevi had followed his parents. There was strength in numbers, and keeping those you trusted to guard your back close to you.

But that didn't mean Lakevi was going to let his guard down. His parents might still be lounging around, but he was out and about, patrolling the lands, searching for danger.

Or at least, patrolling is what he called it. What it really looked like was that he had been pacing back and forth at the base of the stone outcropping for the past ten minutes, not going on a real patrol, not actually accomplishing anything of substance at all.

Leocadio woke with a yawn and a slow stretch, well rested within the small cave he and Ruse had claimed for their little family. Cool and comfortable, they were tucked away from the heat of the sun, a near-constant presence in Solarie lands. “Ruse...?” He muttered, tail giving a few gentle thumps against the ground as he looked at his side, where his mate usually chose to rest. “You awake yet, or do you need a couple more minutes before we go out and greet the day?” Leo gently teased, the beginnings of a smile tugging at his lips before another yawn interrupted him.

Eyes shifting over to where their daughters usually slept, the fox noted that one of the spots was vacant. “Huh. It looks like Rompi is up already.” Leocadio commented with a soft chuckle. “Who knows what that girl is up to...”

With those words, his thoughts wandered to Tiro for a moment, their daughter who had chosen to start a life outside of the tribe with her mate. The couple lived close to Solarie lands, enough to make visits and ease the family's worries, but still. Leo couldn’t help the pang of worry that suddenly hit him. Was this how his parents had felt, back when he had left them so long ago to strike off on his own? Was... this how Conundrum had felt, when he had whisked his daughter away?

Being a parent was hard sometimes.

Rompicapo had decided to wake before the sun had begun to rise, just an hour or two before, eager to explore the tribe’s territory for herself. They had lived here for a few weeks now, sure, but it was still new! And there were still plenty of unexplored places and interesting sights to see, she was sure of it. And so Rompi ventured out into the grassland that made up most of Solarie’s landscape, traveling while the temperature was pleasantly cool and the plants shined with morning dew.

As the sun began to emerge and make itself known to the rest of the world, Rompicapo paused in the middle of her little trek. She smiled, watching the sun on the horizon... and then immediately switched to a frown as a thought crossed her mind. “Oh, I should have scouted out a nice spot to watch the sunrise! Damn it...” Giving a little huff, the vixen flicked her tail, rustling the grass surrounding her. “Next time, I suppose.”

((If anyone needs their fox to be found or brought into the tribe, I can send Rompi your way! <3))
