Oath Breaker was lead by the owl, Anywhere, with some level of confidence. Words bubbled up ones which he chose to swallow as they were founded by doubt. Instead he chose to clench his jaw and remain silent. The moments to follow encouraged Oath, and frankly he owed the owl a silent apology.
"I can hear it." He said under his breath. The owl glanced back at him and the look he got was disapproving. Without another word she disappeared and he was left to his own devices. Fortunately the trickling was the loudest noise in the forest (now) and he was able to follow it quickly. Not without stumbling at least once, to which he looked around quickly - good I'm alone. He sighed softly and kept on trekking. Not long after his private incident he found the stream. It was fresh, and decently paced. He bent down, took in a few laps of water and gasped quietly.
"I didn't think I'd find anything so soon!" He stared into the water, it's surface glittering away. He dropped his rump and simply stared.

The puma had reached in after something that seemed to sparkle. His hopes sky rocketed, the water moved enough to convince him he'd done it. He had found what the Monster Hunter was looking for. Instead when he reached in and scooped up his 'prize' he was met with a plain, old, slightly chipped rock. Oath couldn't help the way his jaw dropped and his brows wrinkled. "What trickery is this?" His voice dropped an octave as he grew angry.
The water had tricked him, and he hadn't been prepared to play the fool. His green eyes burned with fury and he had to stop himself, take a deep breath, remember his love from back home and then exhale. Fortunately he found that any company was off and distracted other wise he might have caused a disturbance. That wouldn't do the Vilebloods much good to have one of their members throw a hissy fit over a rock, ney, a pebble at best. He wrinkled his nose in disdain and the action caused the bone to point outward.

Cross Road had thought when he found the painted feather that maybe he was not very lucky and found need to make up some details to fill in his story. He had not thought that Anywhere truly knew where she was going, but he was proven wrong when he caught the sound of water trickling. "Thank you Anywhere." He called up to the lovely owl as he made his way over to take a look in the water and see what he could find. He was curious and this adventure was getting better and better as he went along. He smiled as he continued on. Other creatures were searching just as he was, he wondered what they thought of this adventure. He smiled everyone would have their own stories at the end of the day. Kells would soon be filled with wonderful stories of adventure and wonder. Cross was very excited of the prospect of it.

Cross Road found a bone in the water, not very exciting but oh well a bone was a bone and should be wasted he guess so he kept it anyway. Once he gathered his bone up he headed off to the next part of the quest. He wondered what he would find next on this adventure he hoped he would find something more interesting than a simple bone and a painted feather, but at least he had found a few things so far and perhaps he could imagine a story with both of the items. Perhaps the bone was the bone of a warrior or a past adventurer who had been eaten by the shimmering fish. The painted feather a father the fallen hero had worn in their fur long ago. His mind whirled with the possibilities he could put together to make a story that would thrill those who would listen.
Wild Holly had finally caught up with the others and she was glad she did when she heard Anywhere talking and she heard the water in the distance. She sighed out a breath and then said: "Yup Nowhere was taking us on quite the tour of the woods, I wasn't sure I would catch back up, but I'm glad I did Anywhere." She blushed still feeling silly for following an owl named Nowhere nowhere. Oh well and she was sure the next time there would be a bear named Don't Listen to Me and she should listen to them. She laughed and started off to the stream to see what she might find in the water. She loved this adventure and excitement. She was a little disappointed she thought this journey might lead them to the veil, but there was nothing she could do for it right now, she had a life to lead and not everything could be about her missing brother.

Wild Holly was looking in the stream and she found a rock she liked so she decided she would keep it. She smiled and continued on. She hoped she would find something more interesting later but she did have her shimmering feather and now she had found a rock. She was glad she hadn't gotten lost in the woods with Nowhere, which she imagined would have been very easy to do if she had not realized they were going to wrong way before it was too late to turn around and go catch up with the others who had followed Anywhere instead. She had ended up at the stream and she splashed around a bit to enjoy the cool water before heading off to the next part of their journey. She wondered what they would see next and what challenges would fall in their path next. She smiled it was all so exciting.

Lady's ears pressed flat against the back of her head as she listened to Anywhere tut about the poor wolves who chose to follow Nowhere, despite the fact that Lady was one of those very wolves. Next time, she swore to herself that she would pay more attention to the creatures she interacted with on her quest. Daydreaming about Kale Greenleaf was fine, but perhaps better done when she wasn't on a Hunt. If she failed this quest, there was no way that Kale would see her a suitable mate. The cloth tied around his leg still bothered her, but there was nothing she could do about it just yet. There was too much mystery surrounding the item, and Lady's time was better spent proving herself instead of focusing on that problem.
If only she could apply the same discipline on more than one or two occasions.
The forest thinned, and the familiar sound of running water greeted her ears. Lady heaved a sigh of relief, quite honestly thankful to be done with the two owls. She had been led astray by one, and well, she had not managed to get any single useful tidbit about wooing Kale Greenleaf out of either of them. "Thanks for the guidance," she told Anywhere, because she was not completely without manners.
It was time, then, to follow her instincts. Lady made her way to the stream, and could almost cry at the sight of trickling blue water. The change from the dark and gloomy woods was welcome, and before carrying on her way she quenched her thirst at the stream's edge. Common sense would dictate that she follow the stream the way it flowed and let it lead her where it wanted to. Lady was young and lovesick, but she was not without her merits as a Monster Hunter. "It's on now," she announced with a grin.

The way she scoured the stream reminded her of her first Hunt, where she had spent hours carefully combing over a beach to find any evidence of the great sea creature Kale sought after. She had spent hours meticulously covering ground, looking for any little thing that stood out against what felt like miles of the same golden sand. Lady's hopes were high, but so far she had only managed to step on a very offended frog while reminiscing about how deeply blue Kale's eyes were.
Luck, it seemed, was not on her side as she could find no true evidence of the fairy fish. She had learned, however, that even the most mundane of items could hold a bit of mystery. Lady had often thought she failed, only to bring something back to Kale Greenleaf that he was absolutely delighted by. Everything had a story to tell, even something so simple as a bone could bring her closer to the wolf she loved.
So, when she found a perfectly intact piece of bone, she snatched it up without a second thought. It was rare to find something in such good condition, and perhaps Kale would like to take a look at it.

'Ah, those poor dears.' Howl caught Anywhere's glance, returning it with a faint twitch of his tail. He had chosen right, although those who had chosen Nowhere would find their path eventually, he was sure. It just meant more sights to see along the way; that couldn't be too bad. He stayed behind the group, taking in his surroundings. He wasn't sure the next time he'd find his way here, he might as well enjoy what he experienced.
He also wondered if Nowhere had realized his mistake by now.
In the corner of his eye he caught the sight of something -- a cave? The cave? Had Anywhere brought him to it that fast? He pondered thanking his guide, instead choosing to let her focus on what she was currently up to. Slipping from the path, Howl headed straight for the cave. Maybe someday he'd come back and take Nowhere up on his offer; see the side he never got to take.
It seemed that Anywhere was the better choice in the long run and she was glad that her instincts had not lead her astray. "Following my gut seemed to have helped me. Hopefully they will learn from their mistake. A teachable moment at least." Dark Skies nodded to the female owl, thankful of her guidance towards the next part of her quest. At least she would not need another teachable moment from Nowhere. As she continued on, Anywhere having already left her, something in the trickling water caught her eye. Part of her wanted to dismiss the thing but maybe this could help her with her quest... Anything to help prove the existence of these shimmering creatures was best right? Or maybe it could be something that would be useful to her down the road. Mind made up she was going to follow the stream and also investigate what might be in it.

Padding up to the stream the reddish brown female peered in it. It seemed there was something in it. This would be just a short detour before she would continue up the stream to the next location and hopefully it was something good. It shimmered and her heart skipped a beat for a moment as she grabbed the scales. "Could this be part of the sparkling creatures I must find?" She asked herself. This must be something though! After all it was something shimmering or sparkling in the water and wasn't that at least something she was supposed to be looking for? Still Dark Skies would continue to find more evidence of what the Monster Hunter Kale Greenleaf had tasked her with. "I will keep this with me. At least it will be something to show should I not find anything else." Dark Skies muttered to herself before moving on.
